401  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICs group buy (CLOSE) on: August 20, 2013, 05:21:26 PM
Hi! At this moment we have the following information. This week is making PCB with all the elemental base. From Wednesday (28 August) on these boards will be installed by hand all the connectors and will be assembled devices in case. Approximately a week later (5 September), begins shipping devices to me.

where did you get this info from? russian thread? Any information on production capability? (units per day or week)
thanks for the updates though Smiley

Yes, it's from the russian thread. They say 1400 PCBs will be received next Tuesday, which are the whole 1st batch. Then they just have to assemble the devices (case, power supply, connectors).

Got a reply from BFL asking my BTC address for refund.
403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM]unofficial jhPrimeminer thread on: August 19, 2013, 02:09:31 AM
Still getting the best results (measured by 4-ch/h) with mumus' version 4 under wine.
I'm on Ubuntu x64 and AMD Opterons.
Performance per core for v4 is about 2k 4-ch/h compared to ~800 for v7.1 (both wine and native linux).
that is because V4 adds all 4ch and up for 4ch total and V7 is only 4ch.

Still about 2x speedup for v4 even after subtracting 5ch+ shares from 4ch.

407  Local / Барахолка / Re: [Предзаказ] Bitfury ASIC 65nm on: August 15, 2013, 11:19:09 PM

it's perfectly possible to get a BTC refund Smiley

Just contact their support asking to cancel your order, you'll get the refund within 3-4 days (or it was so for me atleast)

What were your payment and refund dates? Did they refund you with BTC or PayPal?

No reply for 3 days now.
409  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: all your chip are belong to us on: August 13, 2013, 07:55:01 AM

There's no evidence at all that any significant amount of chips is online. Current 400TH = 100TH original Avalon units + 100TH BFL + 100TH AsicMiner (own + sold) + 50TH Avalon chips (delivered batches) + 50TH Bitfury. That's my guesstimate, please argue if I missed anything.

This assumes all gpu miners are dead. Maybe...

As a base I'd use
  • 10TH GPU (a reduction of 1/2 from February)
  • 130TH AsicMiner (33% of the network)
  • 100TH Avalon

That's 240Th. I'd add 20-50Th of private hash power that no one talks about - just because.

Where's the 50Th from Bitfury hashing and where are the 50Th of delivered Avalon chips? (It's an honest question - I don't know)

50 TH is about 15 batches of 10,000 chips. Zefir received and distributed his first batch of chips some weeks ago, and burnin have already put them into his devices and delivered them. I think some Chinese customers have also received their chips. So I would say half of them are in China, another half distributed.

Bitfury chips have also been distributed across the world two weeks ago. Tytus (the 100TH project) must be deployed from day to day. That's 100TH in one place in Poland. There are also other Bitfury-based board assemblers in America, Europe and Russia. https://ghash.io/
410  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Possible to get refund from BFL? (paid via Bitcoin) on: August 13, 2013, 01:04:59 AM
Not a chance, the product was priced in $USD not bitcoin. If you paid via bitcoin then you used a 3rd party like Bitpay that converted your BTC to $USD at a spot price to pay BFL.

That said, you should be able to get a refund from BFL in USD.

At this point, the problem is getting any refund at all. Those Scammerfly Labs claim that "all sales are final".

BFL are in Kansas, which has strong consumer laws regarding refunds, "the all sales are final" clause can be safely ignored providing you lodge your complaint in Kansas.

Thank you.
I've requested a refund today and told them I am going to file a complaint to Attorney General if they start their "sales final" bullshit. Waiting for their reply.

I wonder if these people realize the damage they're doing to themselves in the long run?

People like Josh, Yifu, and a few others may never be able to live in the real world of background checks and human resource departments that perform their due diligence before hiring an employee.  Google is just way too unforgiving, and many companies will not even hire you with publicity surrounding shit like this.  Even if you are innocent. And I seriously doubt they're making enough on these scams to last a lifetime and will never have to pass a background check.  Bitcoin is anonymous.  Stupidity is not.

Why would they ever want to be hired by anyone LOL? With that shitload of money I doubt they have to worry about that. Also, there are a lot of companies who need professionals of exactly this kind. It's a great talent of being a public person promising product delivery "in two weeks" for more than a year, then insulting your customers and at the same time still having no injuries!

Which kind of lawyer can help me draft these letters? For e.g. divorce lawyers would be a bad option Wink

I believe you don't need a lawyer to file a complaint. Just fill the online form: https://ag.ks.gov/about-the-office/contact-us/file-a-complaint/consumer-investigation-request
414  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Possible to get refund from BFL? (paid via Bitcoin) on: August 13, 2013, 12:14:44 AM
The correct complaint destination is Attorney General Consumer Protection of Wyoming, right? Or can I send it to Kansas as well?

AG of Kansas (where BFL is located), the AG of the state you live in, and file a complaint with the FTC.
Magistrate Judge Amos L. Mazzant of the U.S. Federal District Court just ruled that Bitcoin is indeed money, so you won't have any problems along those lines.

I actually thought Wyoming because BFL is registered there: https://www.kansas.gov/bess/flow/main?execution=e1s5

OP's scenario makes a lot of sense. Any chance anyone in China will get above 50% in the next few months or so?

Lets say they produce 50 wafers per day for a full month non-stop. Where would that put us in PH/s with the size of the Avalon chips?

And on the opposite side Lets say that all the others, KNCminer and so on do deliver and lets round it up to 3 PH/s to KNCminer (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=261669.0) plus whatever estimates you got for the other guys.

Any numbers?

There's no evidence at all that any significant amount of chips is online. Current 400TH = 100TH original Avalon units + 100TH BFL + 100TH AsicMiner (own + sold) + 50TH Avalon chips (delivered batches) + 50TH Bitfury. That's my guesstimate, please argue if I missed anything.

Interesting how people think KNC is any better when they havent proven anything yet. We'll see if they do come through they will have my order for their cheaper units.

Well, at least they know how to inform their customers of recent news: https://www.kncminer.com/news
Compare to Avalon who had kept silence for 5 weeks until recently.
The only meaningful info on Avalon's site was those 10 lines of "No bullshit" terms, which must be properly called "Only the seller can bullshit and fuck you all".
See, missing deadlines is no big crime as opposed to lying to your customers ("in two weeks" -- Josh), being silent for a month while shipment is delayed (Avalon) and then insulting people who payed you and lost their money (both of them).

Try https://54.214.21.135, it works for me.
Disregard browser warning if any (actually it says that the site has certificate for mcxnow.com while its address is 54.214.21.135, so nothing dangerous).
It also has 2 more different IPs, run "nslookup mcxnow.com" to find them out.
419  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICs group buy (CLOSE) on: August 12, 2013, 09:42:28 PM
I only posted to show these chips are running in large numbers now rather than test boards, so I see that as good news for everyone with a stake in future bitfury miners.

I rather see it as bad news for Metabank customers. Looks like Metabank is one of the slowest assemblers. So the whole estimated ~400TH of Bitfury chips may be put online before Metabank's devices even reach their customers  Embarrassed
420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM]unofficial jhPrimeminer thread on: August 11, 2013, 03:13:18 PM

And later in the same thread:
Quote
to compare numbers:

v4 has 41 blocks found and 409 primecoins credited to the account.
--basically even with solo mining if i add the donation to the total

v6 has 51 blocks found and 370 credited to the account
--obviously this version is MUCH better at finding blocks and better for the pool over all. unfortunately, the share handling is killing this miner's profit potential.

Strictly speaking, the highlighted can be put under doubt. Standard deviation for 46 found blocks is about 0.5*sqrt(46) = 3.39. For 99.7% confidence interval it's 3*SD = 10.17, so the two values are within error. Need some more testing.
