401  Other / Off-topic / Re: 3D Printing on: November 26, 2013, 09:50:23 PM
3d printers are so expenssive

So where ink jet printers a few years ago.  They will keep coming down in price.

How much the 3d printer cost and how much cost the material for making one of the 3/4" "corner" pieces shown on the image?

BTW the white corner has nice Bitcoin logo...
402  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1000 Price on: November 26, 2013, 09:41:19 PM
Just logged on betsofbitco.in, turns out I have a 0.1BTC bet on the price hitting $1000 this year, what a nice little surprise.
Made the bet back in March or April, forgot about it til now!

This bet was risky and if BTCChina counts, you won. If not, there is very high chance it hits this year Bitstamp and MtGox as well
403  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When will BTC be worth $100,000 per BTC??? on: November 22, 2013, 12:03:42 AM

I would say either in this decade or never. The digital world is changing in a ultrarapid pace; if the underlying idea is good, mainstream adoption should not take more than 10 years.

Makes sence, but 4 years passed since Bitcoin start and big merchants still dont use Bitcoin...
404  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you do with 25 bitcoins? on: November 21, 2013, 11:55:05 PM
I would do with free 25 bitcoins what I do when I get some money: spend it on new comp and other stuff. Would preffer 50 bitcoins, I would buy new car  Tongue

What about mining?  Mine alt coins and sell them for BTC.

Depends on your electricity costs, not worth eighter unless you have low electricity costs and already decent ATI GPU
407  Other / Off-topic / Re: Celebration when price hits 420 on: November 17, 2013, 11:18:54 PM
we should celebrate when price hits 1000 $

This. I like round numbers and 1000 $ is ideal

409  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I get in bitcoins even though I'm really broke? on: November 17, 2013, 11:10:49 PM
There are some ways to get starter btc

such as doing referrals from gambling websites or using btc faucets

btc faucets is a waste of time. Even if he does it EVERY DAY, and all day long, he won't get anything worth it ...

Agreed, faucets is worst payed job ever (at least it looks like work to me, I tried it)

Easiest is spare few dollars every month and just buy some BTC
410  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Wallet Question on: November 17, 2013, 11:05:00 PM
To support the bitcoin network and its p2p nature it would be better though to run a client locally instead of relying on third party services as Electrum does.
Or does Electrum propagate blocks/tx to other nodes?
Running your own also gets rid of a point of failure if the Electrum third parties go down.

Electrum is local client as well. You dont support Bitcoin much by running Bitcoin-qt 24/7. Mining is more important
411  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: mtgox sepa deposit still not in my account on: November 09, 2013, 09:43:49 PM
I wonder if you send Bank Wire from US to MtGox, MtGox might never receive the money ?

412  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unconfirmed Transaction... Again! on: November 09, 2013, 09:38:11 PM
Is there a way to re-relay it out to the network again?

If you hav the raw transaction you can  broadcast it over the bitcoin network here

What makes you think that btc is worth that much? Seems crazy

Not so crazy, my BTCs are worth that much, so Im not selling now. Everyone has price when he is willing and not willing to sell.

416  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Paypal safe for bitcoin transactions? on: November 03, 2013, 09:40:16 AM

Scenario:
Person A sends paypal payment to Person B for bitcoin. Person A confirms their bitcoin address via email to Person B.
Then, Person B sends bitcoin to Person A.

That should be plenty of proof that Person B needs to prevent Person A from reversing payment.

Obviously email is not enought proof

You need to send physical item and have proof of sending it
417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China trading volumes on FIRE 508k traded today at Chbtc so far on: November 03, 2013, 09:36:16 AM
It looks like BTC China will be #1 on this list, sometime in the next day or two:

But BTC China already has highest BTC volume

419  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 Trillion Market Cap on: October 27, 2013, 11:48:20 PM
clearly late 2015:

looks like gox opened mid 2010. only data points i can find for before that are ( https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/History ):

October 5, 2009 - ($0.000764/BTC) - Exchange rates published by New Liberty Standard. $1 = 1,309.03 BTC (and theymos thought NLS was overcharging)
May 22, 2010 - ($0.0025/BTC) - laszlo first to buy pizza with Bitcoins agreeing upon paying 10,000 BTC for ~$25 worth of pizza courtesy of jercos

 Grin
Thats why exponencional growth cant last forewer. In 2020 the market cap would be how much  ? Smiley

Hello, just trying to get approved and participate in the boards that interest me. BTW this is the only forum I've ever met on the internet with this silly requirement - what's the reason for it?

I have my theory. Your required to post once in Newbies section, so some might notice Newbie sticky threads and some of those might even read these Newbie sticky posts   Cheesy
