They're servers with Bitcoin blocks in them and the idea is you find those and get Bitcoins sent to your wallet, only problem is the amount is as small as faucets.
4022  Other / Politics & Society / Re: White House: Republicans May Push to Impeach Obama If They Get the Chance on: July 27, 2014, 08:19:19 AM
So basically it's only when the IRS and law enforcement targets conservatives that you actually do anything about it? Don't you realise how pathetic and petty that makes you look? I'm white and I find it outrageous that law enforcement have been specifically targeting ethnic groups in your country as well as mine.

Bush should have been impeached before Obama and you should never have let Obama get elected in the first place or Mitt Romney.
4023  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 5th Mass extintion on: July 27, 2014, 08:16:29 AM
Of course, blame capitalism, despite the fact that we don't actually live in a capitalist society right now you also can't ignore the fact that we're rapidly running out of resources to build things and sustain ourselves, this is about survival, not ideology.

More like a corptocracy based on crony capitalism. The capitalist mindset is a big reason as to why we are running out of resources.

No we're not, we're running out of resources because there is always a finite amount of resources, stop ignoring mathematics.

Use the ignore button under their username.

Not necessary a bad thing. Survival of the fitness.

Not necessarily the fittest, just the ones who have a brain and can recognise a disaster when it's about to hit them in the face, I hate people who stay in denial in when it comes to mathematics and science.
4026  Other / Off-topic / Re: What was your first bitcointalk post? on: July 26, 2014, 12:41:14 PM
Not sure why this was my first post but oh well Tongue

Did you synchronize your bitcoin wallet? As far as I know if the wallet isn't synchronized then you won't receive bitcoins when you mine. It should say so at the bottom window with how many blocks are remaining.

According to a recent study (http://www.sciencemag.org/content/345/6195/401) scientists warn we are approaching the next mass extinction.
What are your thoughts on this topic, and how do you think that will affect us.
The most interesting part for me, is that the other 4 mass extinctions were probably caused by natural events such as super-volcano eruptions or asteroids strikes, but this next is will be our fault... We are as destructive as a super-volcano eruption lol that can't be good :/

Scientists need to publish articles, otherwise they lose their job. Often the quality is rubbish, but it's easy to understand - so that it gets published.  It is certain we will go extinct if we will not live on other planets. but on the more short term (5000 - 100.000 years), we may be well on this planet. Humans have spread all across the planet, so even in case of natural disaster some of them may survive.

http://metro.co.uk/2013/04/13/stephen-hawking-humans-have-less-than-1000-years-left-on-earth-3614602/

This isn't fake or rubbish in the slightest, it's backed by Stephen Hawkings, as I've stated tons of times on this forum the problem with our planet is our population is growing too fast and it can't accommodate us anymore, in order to survive we need to spread out and colonise other planets or live in space itself.

A cryptocurrency miner in the shape of a pumpkin? Tongue
4030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will centralized exchanges resist decentralization like the banks resist bitcoin on: July 26, 2014, 09:25:44 AM
I don't think that you'll be able to decentralise cryptocurrencies as long as people cling onto paper money, governments have too much of a strangehold, it can be easily done with cryptocurrencies, but not paper, unless we get some country that is willing to host such a system but that's still quite centralised.
4031  Other / Off-topic / Re: Fuck Summer! on: July 26, 2014, 09:03:25 AM
I wonder how many people replying in this thread stating they like summer live in a location where summer could actually be deadly?  Admittedly I love winter but here in Southern California we had 1 day with 97F this past winter.  The coldest it got was 34F overnight low - not even freezing.

About 100 miles from me is Death Valley which has the hottest recorded temps on Earth.

For those who claim they like summer, what kind of summer are you talking about?

Exactly.  These people who say they love summer probably live in winter hell and summer must mean they see 50 or 60F highs.  At least we don't have too much humidity here in SoCal but when we get that Gulf moisture and Santa Anas it can get nasty with 100+ temps and near 100% humidity.  This is only July.  I fear the 110s coming in August/September - this has been the hottest summer ever recorded out west US.

My mum came home because she was stuck in an overheated office yesterday, classic case of "How hot was it" and when she said I wasn't surprised at all she became ill, they were stuffing her and other people in a cramped and high up office with little ventilation.

On a more serious note, people just don't realise how much the heat can affect them and that's why you get people dying or suffering heat strokes etc. during these heat waves.
4032  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sanctions against Russia spark AK-47 buying frenzy in US - Sanctions be good on: July 25, 2014, 10:34:28 PM
Like it or not Russia and China is what keeps the U.S and Europe in check, if it weren't for them they'd just roll over the planet and turn it into the New World Order the nutters like to rant about on the internet. I don't claim the Chinese or Russians are the good guys in the slightest but they make the western powers think twice.
4033  Other / Off-topic / Re: What kind of degenerate animal........... on: July 25, 2014, 10:30:01 PM
Those kind of crazy rules and land ownership laws are exactly why I think I'm willing to save up so I can get even a ruin of a detached house, I don't really want to have to deal with all that bullshit.
4034  Other / Off-topic / Re: What kind of degenerate animal........... on: July 25, 2014, 09:31:39 PM
It is a piss take, we have a neighbour who for some reason regularly tries to send his dogs down to take shits in the shared garden we have ( We live in terraced houses ) it's just people being assholes because they can, the moment someone will stand up to them they'll probably stop doing it.
4035  Other / Off-topic / Re: Fuck Summer! on: July 25, 2014, 08:12:28 PM
100 F here now! (38C)

4036  Other / Off-topic / Re: Liquid Cooling on: July 25, 2014, 05:00:11 PM
Look into immersion cooling. There are so many people who are crazy about that. But it needs quite a lot of maintenance and when something fails, replacing something is a real pain. I'd just stick to air cooling.

I've seen that before, as others have said air cooling should be fine unless you're doing something particularly demanding.
4037  Other / Politics & Society / Re: econ fagz, would estate tax solve income inequality? on: July 25, 2014, 04:55:44 PM
.............one reason more and more of our economy is underground; i.e. cash only or bartering. No records for the tax Nazi's.
Yep.

I don't like paying taxes but I understand the need.

But when it gets to the point where I'm losing 50% and some money is being taxed two/three times, I'm going to start "doing this to reduce my taxes."

This whole problem would be easily solved with a simple flat tax rate and careful money management but I have yet seen a government of even a medium sized country even consider it so if their country collapses it's their own fault as far as I'm concerned.
4038  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Send the Illegals Back, Americans First! on: July 25, 2014, 04:29:52 PM
You do realise that the majority of the problems you describe are created by constant warfare and currency devaluation right?
4039  Other / Off-topic / Re: Fuck Summer! on: July 25, 2014, 04:26:36 PM

Yeah it's a good idea to stay in house and do nothing, this temperatures are very dangerous to play with. I have headache every day when it's so hot since i don't drink much and it's a problem for me.

I get that plus hayfever so If I don't take my Piriteze I get really ill, like not just a sneeze or two but full on headaches and I feel like I've got a really bad cold/flu so I know your pain. Good news on my end though! It's going to cool down massively on Sunday they say so that's awesome.
