Well I finally got in at .00005 with 9 BTC. Seems like a great opportunity except for the fact that I'm already in 30 BTC at .00015. Hopefully it gets back up to 11-12k as thats my break even point, then I can start thinking about maybe getting some profit.

I got in at .00015 too mate, I hope it goes back up at some point, even if I have to wait a while to see it.
I didn't get in as deep as you, because I don't have that kind of BTC, but if I did have it I would probably have a lot more MZC at that same price...

I don't know about you guys but AUR totally screwed me up on MZC. I lost my bearings completely. I sat there with MZC at 17.5K and knew that it was over and time to get out, but didn't because of what I saw AUR do the previous 4 days. Plus I was already screwed up because the day AUR hit Mintpal at 23 I knew to go all in, and didn't for whatever reason. Then sat there at work over the weekend 3 nights in a row watching it go from 23 to 117.

How did you "know"?

Fact: Payu has been lying all over the place about Mazacoin being "an official sovereign national currency of the Lakota"

Fact: This coin is not official, not sovereign, not national, no nothing. It's a wannabe sovereign currency to which the Lakota will never consent to.

Fact: Payu is not even a Lakota tribe member, though he lead many media outlets to falsely believe that was the case.

Fact: The top dev that goes by the professional trust inspiring nickname "Pirate" said Payu will become next president of the Lakota!!! Guy is a total sociopath scammer, pulling all the strings to make people buy his scam. He also admitted tribal elders viewed his operation as a "White man's scam". Good luck with adopting it as official currency with that stance!

Fact: Top dev "pirate" owns a crypto mining operation and he used that to instant mine Mazacoin since day one. The 5% pre-mine is a distraction for idiots. All those saying that's not a scam because the pre-mine wasn't touched are missing the obvious.

Fact: 5% is WAY too low to really promote anything for the Lakotas. Auracoin is giving 50% to their people. Mazacoin is giving a shitty 5%, actually less than that if you look deeper.

Fact: You've paid top dollar for a high quality top model hooker and you've got a smelly toothless crackwhore instead.

Fact: Payu knowingly deceived investors and so did the top dev. That alone is a scam that would have landed him in jail if this were to have taken place on a legit securities market.

How do you explain this, then?

Here's a screenshot so people wouldn't have to download it.

Why is handwritten signature missing?

I'll ask again:

Why is handwritten signature missing?

Can I have your real name and a copy of your signature please?

Just waiting for the bottom of this coin to see how much BTC I've lost. Been a fun ride I'll tell you. This title should read: If you loved making tons on Auroracoin, you'll hate giving it back for Mazacoin!

err but you will only have lost them if you sell your Maza coin..  I do not know your circumstances but if you can hodl, then hodl, and see where we are at in 3, 6, 12 months.  Then if there is still no return then count your loss.. this coin is barely traded yet.
4045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ██[MZC] MazaCoin - National Currency - now @ RussiaToday, Independent, Telegraph on: March 08, 2014, 03:21:14 PM
The Mazacoin founding press release stated that Mazacoin was "commissioned by the Oglala Lakota Nation" with the task of creating for them "the first ever Sovereign National Crypto-Currency." Now some people have claimed that Mazacoin was claimed to be an "official" currency of the Oglala Lakota Nation. But there is a clear difference between a currency being commissioned to be created, and it being officially adopted. The former would mean the Oglala Lakota Nation looked upon the currency with approval, the latter would mean the currency was legally adopted. But nowhere was it claim by the founder of Mazacoin that Mazacoin was a legally adopted currency of the Lakota. In fact there was a written document that was an agreement between Payu Harris and David Mills, of the Oglala Sioux Office of Economic Development. The agreement can be downloaded here:

http://cryptominers.freeforums.org/the-memorandum-of-understanding-t10.html

http://www.oglalalakotanation.org/oln/PROGRAMS_-_SERVICES.html

Now even though mazacoin is not the official currency of the Lakota, this evidence shows the agreement between Harris and officials of the Lakota Nation that established mazacoin as a currency. This is not as amazing or news-breaking as "official currency of the Lakota Nation" but it's still a ground-breaking move in crypto-currency.

Nice post, no matter what the hell you think, it is quasi-official because it's not like the Lakota are just going to turn around and create a new crypto to supplant the work Payu has been doing. This is the first and only chance the tribes have to do anything like this, there will be no 2nd shot so in that sense it is official.

Also at this point, it has not done anything for them yet... if they can get a mining community going and earn from and make Maza work for them, and it brings them in millions, and say even more money than they get from the federal gov then they have a shot at being more independent and if it works for them, then I can imagine them going all out and crossing the line and saying to the gov- yep its official... but at this point.. if they let it grow there is nothing to fight... then if it works they can say, yes this is our currency, take your funding, we no longer need it and send your men with guns if that is what you need to do... shoot us in front of the eyes of the whole world and see where that gets you.

If they take this approach, and they in their self governing capacity make Maza legal tender on the reservation, alongside the dollar , and stuck by their position, and worked to make good of it in the reservation, then this could be really something and the legal status could still be coming further down the line which is why I think it is more than worth backing, and I have done so.

They should aim for the future, and aim big, the technology is there and at a price point that works, and if they take what they want and need from modern society and leave the rest... this could be a great win for them.  Really in this day and age indigenous peoples of all of the globe should be helped in an effort to help them where they need it, and help them and help us preserve their rich cultural heritage, which is interwoven with the heritage of all of mankind. I have visited indigenous tribes in several places around the world and the economic disparity is insane when in those same countries there is vast wealth, and much if not all of it has come at the expense of the lives and cultures and lands of the indigenous habitants that have by on large been held down on an institutional level for a very long time... decisions made decades, half a century ago, still reverberating down the generations to present day, the invisible boot still stamping on their faces.

I think that crypto currency really could help these guys... if they embrace it and turn it into the industry of the tribe, educate and create and build...propser, and there is a window here they could really leverage, and I think that is what Harris is trying to do...

I tip my hat to them...

I am personally buffaloish on Maza.

Interesting story...

I decided to carry out a little test.

I have tried this twice now on Cryptsy (would not dare on cryptorush with the lag, even mint pal)

Anyways I thought I would test the waters and put a fair sized sell order in first one was 50,000 and second 35,000 ish
both above the market price by a far margin... and on both occasions my sell orders started to get munched into at a fair pace...
whilst the lower sell orders remained in place...

think about that for a moment.. I have... and I have seen you ; )

Oh now I see it, lol, because you can't buy youself sells Smiley /yes, this is captain obvious, pls ignore me/

Captain obvious? yeah well you would be right apart from the last buy order for Mazacoin that got executed for me was several days ago on Cryptorush... I did all my buying 1st few days : )  so no they are not my buy orders buying my own coins...  so much for captain obvious..

Block reward: 5000 MZC halving every 241920 blocks (about 12 month) - not dropping below
1 MZC (inflationary minimum)
Total coin mined: 2.4192 billion MZC + yearly inflation
2.4192 billion coins will be mined in approx. first 5 years
Thereafter around 1 million per year (inflationary).

How can you expect 1$?

If you look at how many Dogecoin there are right now... there are 57,697,774,629 DOGE and there are currently 104,235,000 MAZA coins
So there is roughly 553 times as many Doge in circulation now as there are Mazacoins. But when you look at Maza coin which is currently
at market cap of  $2,975,410 and then look at the Dogecoin marketcap, which is at  $54,011,605

Divide the Doge cap by the MZC cap  $54,011,605 / $2,975,410 =  18 approx  (by extrapolation if MZC had the same market cap the price of MZC today would be around $0.5x   - So what happens if Maza gets a market cap twice the size of doge?

There is x 553 difference in the amount of coins at the moment but only a 18 times difference in the amount of their market cap, so to turn your question on its head, how can you expect Doge to have a price of $ 0.00094 per coin with 57 billion in circulation at this point with more on the way also?

Also, circumstances are not the same of course, but look at AUR, at one point they hit 1 billion in market cap, there are 10 million coins approx
so each coin was $100 at one point...  by comparison imagine if MZC at some point managed to get a market cap of just a quarter of the size of what AUR recently managed which would be  $250,000,000 .and say there are around 250,000,000 coins in circulation at that point, then the price would be around $1

Also just playing devil advocate here but what happens if in 1 years time BTC market cap is x2 to x 5 what it is now... what would that mean for say the rest of the top 15 alt coins?

Could Mazacoin reach the value of $1 per coin in a year.... possible yes , $0.50....?  I think so...  all depends on a lot of factors and of course if people choose to get behind the coin.. which I hope they do... for now at least the miners like it.. but they are a thickle bunch.

hate to say it, but it looks like maza is kill. I don't understand, with all the press and an article in the wall street journal, you'd think this thing would have taken off by now. Also, what the fugg is this??

http://indianz.com/News/2014/012781.asp

Lol @ whales trying to create new accounts and fool us.

This is the first post of this guy  Grin

I wish BTCtalk never removed the newbie restriction

Someone is paranoid. I wish there were whales that were trying that hard, because that would mean that there is going to be another pump coming soon. I'm holding right now too, I'm just trying to be realistic. I've been following the maza thread at 4chan /biz/ for the last few days and they put a link for this thread and that one is dying. I was hoping to get opinions, or hopefully someone has an explanation on the article or disprove it. not everyone with a new account is a whale or a shill or a spammer.

Here's the explanation:  the article asked the Oglala Sioux Tribe about MZC, unfortunately this is NOT THE SAME TRIBE as the Oglala Lakota Tribe. It's like I told you to call Mr. Smyth because he has important information, so you call Mr. Smith and get all up in arms when the guy doesn't know wtf you're talking about. In short, bad journalism. Go figure, it's on a complete shit site.

On a side note, thanks for the dump all you BET fools trying to move over quickly, you filled up all my buy orders to the low 4's! I love it! How'd buying up all @thecryptotrader's 8 hours of prepump go for ya?

Bad journalism... now there is a shocker huh?  time and time again...

To be honest after this week.. I take everything ... be it bbc, newsweek, forbes, rt or indianz.com say with a pinch of salt!

None of them are worth the paper or pixels they use up- an unfortunate truth of the modern era.

(edit- actually scratch that- forget about this week, the media have been full of bs for decades)

Last time to get your votes in. We can make it if we get togheter and buy some votes! Wont cost that much if we all go in. 0.05 BTC each? Comman we will earn the value back by selling at the opening of the trading.

by selling at the opening of the trading.
really ? thats all you want to do dump?
No ofcourse not. But just to buy up some coins now to get back the money you bought your votes for.

Ofcourse the ones your sitting on, are you suppose to hold. Atleast IMO

hi5

I have. I can't find a single document from the Tribe itself even discussing MazaCoin, let alone adopting it as their currency.
You will find announcements here:
http://cryptominers.freeforums.org/official-announcements-f4.html
You will find the Memorandum of Agreement.
Which says precisely nothing about them adopting it as a currency.
I think that portion has been completely made up.
Payu was had a talk about the coin at the NYC Bitcoin Center,  I'm sure he was asked this very question.
Anyway, you are just speculating at this point.

I am stating that I can find no statement from the tribe that they have adopted MazaCoin as a currency.
You are speculating that they have adopted it. There seems to be no basis for that speculation.

exactly.  The only news has come from the developer as a proxy to the tribe.

hint - find out more about the developer- he is known in the community.

I wonder why the value has fallen 150% since yesterday? Are the Whales planning a massive buy up or now everyone decided to move onto another coin? I have 2k sitting in there and the value plummeting should I hold or sell? Grin

Hold - defo hold!

much in the pipeline!

I thought Auror coin was a blatant scam with a symbolic gesture to fool unsuspecting crypto buyers/traders to buy the coin while devs dumped a large premine before the so called "airdrop" happens.  There was no coordination with the government or even an organization in Iceland ahead of time so it was sololy controlled by the developers.  It was a ponzi scheme at best.

So I assume that maze coin is going to be done the same way huh?

err well you assume wrong... try reading

I did yesterday and it was fine, and quick
4058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you like Auroracoin, you're going to LOVE Mazacoin (MZC)! on: March 05, 2014, 08:03:32 PM
I talked to the Lakota Country Times in SD and the secretary of the President of the Lakota Nation (just googled and called).  Of the three people I spoke to none of them had heard of any plan for the Lakota Nation to formally adopt a crypto-currency.  One of them had never even heard of crypto-currency.  The paper asked for me to call again tomorrow because they were very busy going to press, and that they might have someone who could talk more with me then.

Can someone address why the Lakota would not know of their own currency?

Cross-posted.

Well, just the statement about when they go to press suggests that maybe a press push starts tomorrow.

Its a newspaper. They go to press, it is what they do.
How on earth does that confirm the story?

I think he thinks that they are going to press with info about Mazacoin.  To make it clear, they were NOT going to press about Mazacoin.  They knew nothing about Maza at all.

I want to make it clear that I'm not trying to spread FUD.  Just an FYI.  I assume the developers of any coin shouldn't mind people having questions and concerns, right?

What would be sufficent may I ask?
4059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you like Auroracoin, you're going to LOVE Mazacoin (MZC)! on: March 05, 2014, 05:07:49 PM
And the arseholes are back on cryptorush with the fake sells at stupid prices...  ie the recent low of 0.00001000 is totally bogus.

Funny because I pointed out to Cryptorush on their opening, that the platform allowed to execute
sales at any price if they are matched as opposed to best price sell or being allowed to only post trades 20-30% of the actual price.

When people complain to CR about the bodged graphs- they say "yeah we know"   and do NOTHING!

At first they said that they will ban people... which is daft... if you allow people the function, then people can and will play with it... but all it means
I guess is you have to look back through the price history and ignore.

I have sent half my balance to mint, but I would love to see a big exchange get their mits on this..
