That's insane how I like this kind of things: just a VPS, a Bitcoin node, a web page with connections count and blockchain size and I'm happy
4082  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Computational bounty using output scripts? on: May 30, 2013, 03:57:38 PM
Etotheipi ninja'd me with basically the same answer
I just had one more thing in my post: if you really want bounties I think p2pool would reduce the risk of a rogue miner stealing your money
That way honest miners would have the correct transaction (p2pool have good connections with big pools I guess)

Even if I'm right that'd just reduce the risk though, I wouldn't play with this kind of things

We need a clone coin section where people can post their garbage coins that way we can keep the alt coin section for stuff that is actually innovative.

Info: Address version will be 0, ie same address format than Bitcoin

Beggers: put your Bitcoin address

4086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN] Futurecoin on: May 30, 2013, 02:00:50 PM
Hi everybody

Futurecoin (FTR) is a coin I didn't created yet.
Thus it has no value, no logo, no client and no genesis block (it has a genesis coinbase though) but will have everything in the near future (less than a month).
People can already buy me some Futurecoin or beg for some mFTR.

As there is nothing yet except the genesis coinbase, I'll give to the recipients the transaction raw data that you will be able to import into the FTR blockchain when I release it.

Maximum coins: 10^9 FTR
Block: 100 FTR

Bitcoin node

Pretty good idea actually. The network could always use more full nodes and most VPS systems will be in data centers and positioned to be good peers, just don't use it to keep a wallet with actual coins.
OK I have a node running. More info here - http://198.50.215.67/getinfo

4096  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: net split? what would happend? on: May 30, 2013, 10:06:35 AM
I'm not sure that if the chinese gvt cuts the link between internet and chinanet, it would still want trades to happen with the rest of the world

I doubt the Chinese would separate chinanet entirely. The consequences could theoretically be catastrophic for them, and with such power comes responsibility. They would need very very good reason to implement such drastic moves.
I highly doubt it too
4097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC] Bounty for LTC support in Armory on: May 30, 2013, 09:58:38 AM
We've started a bounty thread on Reddit to get LTC support added to Armory here.

This issue on Github details what it would take to get things going.

Post pledges either in the reddit comments, or on here. I will be updating this post with the current total regularly.
Input from developers would also be greatly appreciated.
Lets make this happen!

Total amount pledged as of the writing of this post is 80 LTC.
Can someone translate that in BTC?
