4621  Bitcoin / Project Development / Cryptographic rock-paper-scissors on: April 02, 2013, 12:56:09 AM
Thanks to a wonderful idea from Off-topic, I made a cryptographic rock-paper-scissors
It uses hashes so that the second player can be sure that nobody changed the move of player 1
I tried to be clear in the About section of the site

You can play for nothing or you can bet.

Here it is: http://cryrps.net46.net
I post here to receive any comment about anything you find worth commenting

Ça peut prendre jusqu'à plusieurs heures donc ne t'inquiète pas... C'est chiant mais ça marche
4624  Other / Off-topic / Re: Cryptographic rock/paper/scissors! on: April 02, 2013, 12:19:10 AM
Hey everybody, I kinda finished that wonderful project (well, its alpha version...)
I think everything is working, even the BETS!! Yes, you can win MONEY just by playing fucking LIZARD with your cryptographic hand!

As it can still contain bugs it's working with Testnet coins/addresses
Some testing will be appreciated Smiley

4629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NameCoin worth keeping? on: April 01, 2013, 03:16:18 PM
Is NMC finally merge-mined with BTC?
I heard the maintener left Namecoin die in a slow, painful death
4630  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Compressed keys, Y from X on: April 01, 2013, 01:48:31 PM
Yep, that works, thanks a lot!

EDIT:
I still have a question: how do you know that sqrt(a) = a(q+1)/4 ?
4631  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Compressed keys, Y from X on: April 01, 2013, 12:41:17 PM

Dear friend,

Based on the further explicit investment information about your country from my research i wish to invest in your country under your supervision.

I am Prince Fayed W. Bolkiah, the eldest son of Prince Jeffrey Bolkiah former finance minister of Brunei, the tiny oil-rich sultanate on the Gulf Island of Borneo. I save your time by not amplifying my extended royal family history, which has already been disseminated by the international media during the controversial dispute that erupted between my father and his tepbrother, the sultan of Brunei Sheik Muda Hassanal Bolkiah.

As you may know from the international media,The sultan had accused my father of financial mismanagement and impropriety of BTC1.500.000 this was as a result of the Asian Financial crisis that made my father company Amedeo Development Company and government owned Brunei investment company to be declared bankrupt during his tenure in the office. However my father was kept under house arrest, his bank account and private properties including a crude oil export refinery were later confiscated by the sultanate to avoid further prosecution from the sultan and his security operatives, but before I could do that I was placed under house arrest by the sultan and not have access to phone but I have a palm V hand -held computer from which I am sending you this mail. Some of the guard here are still loyal to me, so they would be my contact with you if there is any documents I need to send to you to enable you have access to this funds and invest it for me.

Before my in-castration, I went ahead to dispatch the sum of BTC500.000 in cash under special arrangement into the custody of different private Banks and trust company's for safe keeping abroad. The money where splited and kept in the following countries, : in Canada, France, Spain, Holland andin London. Firstly, you will be required to travel to London to claim the money there before prceeding to other countries.

I seek your good assistance to invest these funds into a profitable investment in your country to facilitate future survival for my family abroad. After due deliberation with my aids we decides to offer a certain percentage to you as compensation for your co-operation and kind sincerity to carry out this assignment.

Since there will be an expenditure from your side( BTC 12.000 ), I will advice you not to worry about it because you will be reimburse any amount you may spend as to enable this transaction get to it's final dream, for both local and international expenses will be given to you back while you will be part of the beneficiary of any investment made with this cash, to add to that, I will like to let to your understand that all this is not part of your financial compensation that will be given to you.

During this dispensation Please I count on your absolute confidentiality, transparency and trust while looking forward to your prompt reply towards a swift conclusion of this transaction. Many thanks and blessing remains with you.

Finally, your financial compensation will be the 15% of the total cash. That is 15% of ( BTC 500.000 ).

Thanks.
Prince Fayed.W. Bolkiah.

4634  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Compressed keys, Y from X on: April 01, 2013, 02:06:38 AM
Thanks, that helps a lot!
I still have a problem though, the equation doesn't match my data (I wanted to check on an example first)
Let's take that example:
Quote
secret: 0123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123

->
X: 6655feed4d214c261e0a6b554395596f1f1476a77d999560e5a8df9b8a1a3515
Y: 217e88dd05e938efdd71b2cce322bf01da96cd42087b236e8f5043157a9c068e

I get:
y2=7f65351d4485d7656f60f8a4e5c802cc5ba6a1eae5d0e94b63357ab43d18b53e
x3=368e518c43bee254854b3c43aa9893e65a3d19282468bae274e93e5cb93d0946
Whereas I should have y2 = x3 + 7 (secp256k1)
4635  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Compressed keys, Y from X on: April 01, 2013, 12:56:54 AM
Hi,
I'd like to know if there is a formula to calculate the two possible values of Y from X
I use a library that needs them, and I don't really want to modify it

4639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 80 BTC: transaction not found? on: March 31, 2013, 08:09:37 PM
WTF? Chain split?

Looks like the initial transaction (my friend -> me) wasn't picked up by miners so it wasn't processed. But it was still broadcast.
But afaik the satochi client doesn't use unconfirmed tx's for new tx's
