4081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 18, 2017, 06:00:33 AM
And...Bitmain STILL has D3's for sale.....

(their sinister plan worked...they managed to make D3's in stock and into the snail equivalent of S9's) (Bitmain: we do evil in Slo-Mo Eventually)

https://shop.bitmain.com/main.htm?lang=en

I want to buy (soooo  pretty) at $1,450 usd ..BUT and I mean a BIG BUT .....

With X11 difficulty rise....its hard to buy a rubber dingy for the kiddy pool.....when the elephant (x11 difficulty) is gonna 'cannon ball' into it.

Gonna be quite wierd, imho ..when that x11 difficulty slams into the ASIC X11 shoreline....let me tell ya

4082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: August 17, 2017, 10:29:00 AM
For those interested (not me) they SEEM to have Bitmain D3's on the Bitmain site for the last hour (could be a web error) but the price is showing up in

black.

Me...not interested in anymore at 1,450 with the difficulty dump ..says shipping Nov 24th to 30th

been up 1 hour..not a lot of interest it seems

Good Luck. (me I'm standing pat on 1 batch 2 and 1 batch 3 only)

edit: price w/o shipping (that shows up in the sales page at the time of this post)

1450 USD    ( 0.3232271 BTC; 31.86813187 LTC )
4083  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Blockstream's Bitcoin Satelite WWW w/ OuterNet USB Reciever. on: August 17, 2017, 08:58:20 AM
Many people thinking this will never happen and it is all just hype. I must admit it is hard to believe such technology would come this early for Bitcoin. Heck, many countries do not even have widespread internet but they will be able to transact Bitcoin. haha

Well, the outernet USB satellite receiver you see on the 1st post...I got that as a 100 buck toy a few months back and never played with it

so such exists .... you supposedly can use this to download a bunch of stuff like facebook etc and cache it and update news weather etc

good for an RV etc....

but again to put data back up to the internet you'd need a cell phone or cell phone hot spot or some such

just saying..the unit is 'supposed' to suck stuff down in mass amounts to look at offline

thus even if slow speed inet the other way....that only has to be thru a cell phone and fast enough to update your wallet and take your moving BTC about

it is probably a big step forward ..where even older flip phones are still in use

AS to the hype...it depends...if the bandwidth was 'donated' by Richard Branston (virgin) or some such (he is into satellites) this very well could be the real deal

I guess I'm gonna have to get my act together and get on the outernet forum and get this thing up and try it (no time I have no frigging time)

That is why I have one of these OuterNet units and it has sat on the shelf for 4 months plus

too much work/projects/toys etc

4084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone want to do a Baikal Groupbuy? on: August 17, 2017, 08:50:32 AM
anyone organizing a group buy? I would be in for 1-2 if it is below 2000$ and available within a week.

still would be tough..imho....difficulty wise.....just saying

NOW if they were 1k instead of 2k .that might be a different spin  on this

Thou.... Dash is at $246....
4085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 17, 2017, 08:48:09 AM
Hi Guys first post  Cheesy
Dash price at $247 This should help the miners with D3 Smiley

hmmmm....perhaps getting the 3rd batch 1 unit was not as big a boo boo as I thought.....gonna have to pump a bit more thought imho

but hey...good news
4086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 17, 2017, 02:32:53 AM
As expected, the November batch is never gonna sold out, they're just gonna keep on pumping them out like toasters lol

With

Pinidea
Ibelink
Baikal
Innsolicon
Bitmain

All dumping X11 equip in Oct or if late 1 or 2 weeks into November, I expect a lot of
Toaster doorstops. I got 1 $2,600 D3 2nd batch ships 18 to 28th September.

Got caught up in hype and got $1,600 3rd batch (dubious) November.

My view I need the 100% equip deduction. If lucky I see 14 month plus roi even with the above equip deduction.

So imho, hell yes bitmain is having a fire sale.

Oh well. Not my wisest asic boat to hop on. I will likely lose 25% in reality with electric on this play. Live and learn.

Got to pop up a ball once in awhile, at the plate I guess?

Toaster city is likely on D3's, weekly, imho. But folk may be wising up.

Still on sale 1/2 day later....they may have lots yet to move and little time to do so.

You think the D3 is more toaster in comparison with the l3+?  Huh

Probably with the next batch bitmain ships L3+ it would be better. But still 10-12 month roi
with electric if I was to buy next batch L3+ and get it end of November?

The L3 batches are much larger also imho.

The ways of Bitcoin are mysterious to me! Bitcoin is a
Fickle Mystress! Indeed!

4088  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Blockstream's Bitcoin Satelite WWW w/ OuterNet USB Reciever. on: August 16, 2017, 03:33:14 PM
I have no knowledge about satellite technology, but my concern is, are those devices capable of transmitting data or for receiving only? Much better if its design in two way link.

Recieve only. But for wallet use w/cell phone likely cheap and untraceable in a corrupt
Country with cell phone prepaid. Comes to mind anyway.

Tell that to searing who mentions it on every post!! Ha ha.

Probably true. But I mean really 4200 btc. Freaking me out a bit. Thus I'm in
WTF mode a lot lately.
4091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: August 16, 2017, 07:22:48 AM
I'm surprised their website still exists. While it appears their "products" are out of stock so they shouldn't be able to scam anyone else with a pre-order, it seems like it should be taken down entirely.

Likely it is still up so they can point to the site and their blog's to us every 3/4 of a year or so and 'claim we are still trying'.

Hell, for all I know some newb sends them money and they still take it Sad

4092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When does the Byteball distribution end? on: August 16, 2017, 01:35:31 AM
The distribution scheme has changed. People will now get 10-times less Byteball for holding Bitcoins and 2-time less Byteball for holding Byteballs. The inflation will thus be much smaller now compared to the previous months.

I have been hearing this and I don't understand what they mean by "holding bitcoins". How can you hold bitcoins on the byteball wallet and get paid by doing so?

If I use the signing address method how much will I get?

My wallet says I have the GB that I was waiting to get transacted in the last period, so im holding byteballs on the wallet. Im now signing the remaining addresses, im going to sign all of my BTC addresses, it will take a while but I will get a decent amount of byteball next period (last period I was learning)

I just don't understand what "holding bitcoins" means..?

They are airdroping you coins based on your bitcoins held by you in your btc address (and byteball held)
They do this around the full moon each month. Take a snapshot of your holdings. You prove you own with a private msg key from bitcoin-qt wallet or such. Or sending them tiny fee from btc addresses you own.

I'm out. Not buying. May watch the cluster though.
4094  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Blockstream's Bitcoin Satelite WWW w/ OuterNet USB Reciever. on: August 15, 2017, 07:03:58 PM
I'm told that you will need a satellite dish and not just a small receiver like the one you pictured as the signal is quite weak. But if that works for you, great!

Well supposedly this is for Satellite stuff. But then again you could be correct. I have a
Link to the outernet forum in above posts. Someone could ask somebody with one to point
it at the proper Satellite from the blockstream thread. Also in above posts

If you do need a bigger dish they are common and used on eBay. I saw how to use
the OuterNet via those instead. I still think this unit is likely to work on the USA Satellite in
the above links with only the small Reciever plate.

Satellite Service. Wow!

Comments, by those with better tech knowledge on this kinda thing, please.

Edit: I have one of the below USB Receivers. I think it was $100 bucks. Got it to play with months ago. Guess it is time to fire this hobby USB Satellite Reciever
Up!

Note 12/20/2018: My unit is still in the box, with the BTC crash in 2018, not had a lot of time with 'panic'ing' to delve into this. Hopefully, the links below
help with those in the weeds on these kinds of units.

and/or

future batches ship dates?

curious

Holding is the easiest thing to do, cold storage = no temptation.

Stress = 0

Except....someday I need to move my private keys to get my Bitcoin cash...but with Bitcoin core's 15.0
version stopping anything with the 2+mb fork...(looking at 3 forks then) ..in a month and 1/2 it could get
interesting ...with MORE FUD drama if Bitcoin core continues to stop the +2mb hard fork....or just tries to...

So hell, just leaving it ride....and not messing with moving Bitcoin Classic to Bitcoin mainstay makes more sense

and

of course, it is frigging $4,300 bucks !!!! as we speak !!!! (no stress in that right...hands shaking, throat dry....)

be careful what you wish for.....everyone wishes for MOON but they forget about the stress and acceleration (and the fear of blowing up)

on takeoff! Smiley

4100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Possible ASIC X11 Miner DR-100 - group buy on: August 15, 2017, 06:47:54 AM
Might be interested at 6K and the discount of 1/5th price with others on the free one.

As in my pm individual shipping vs bulk shipping if they provide no service to ship..could be very, very high as well.

but will watch how this shakes out.
