4141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Biggest winning so far on: January 31, 2020, 10:12:54 PM
Only 20% from total jackpot prize which mean you're not the main winner from this site however win is win especially the jackpot which is something i cannot achieve and at the beginning of this year you're very lucky because won it however i was not too remember my highest winning because it was it happened a long time ago but if i'm not mistaken my biggest winning approximately $1000 or could be less or more than it
Well 20% is a lot ! although he's not the main winner still the amount is very huge , €4800 made from €24? who would have thought of earning such amount. Me, personally cannot win a high amount it just get worse when I continue betting continously. In my lifetime gambling the highest prize I won so far is $100 or maybe less.

Man, 20% of the total jackpot is still a significant amount of money relative to the total value that you invested and gambled! You should feel contented and consider yourself as a winner that you still won this amount of money!

Based from my experience, the highest amount that I got from a single round of betting was around $250 but it almost costed me my entire savings for the month! My brother played a role in my gambling spree as I also considered it as bonding whenever we gamble together as brothers. Although we both lost quite amounts of money, nothing can buy the bond that we both experienced at that time.

The first month of 2020 I have not made a lot of bets and the results obtained are still very low, so far I have not gotten a big win and I also don't have a target of big wins for this year in gambling. Even so, I will continue to bet with high effort, big wins are usually the main target every time I gamble, but this year I just want to make a difference by gambling only to get consistent wins every week, hopefully this is the right plan and strategy. so as not to overly pursue a great victory, because that would only torture the personal mind.

Just a tip of advice, be cautious that you target big wins in gambling. Although it may sound very attractive, the risk that it comes with it has the potential danger of draining your resources per game. You might win in the future but you must see to it that the total amount of your bets should not exceed the winning prize pool.

Not totally na pagkatiwalaan ang bitcoin, but practically na gamitin ang makabagong technolohiya as a sort of payment methods. Yes, it is might probably be able if our government sees it useful at kung gusto nila i-expand ang paggamit ng cryptocurrency or bitcoin saating bansa. Overall, agree ako(we all bitcoiners agree Cheesy)

Tax is the lifeblood of the country as ito yung main source of their revenue for various projects and budget allocation sa iba't ibang departments (e.g. DOJ, DOH, etc.).

4143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATMs normalizing Cryptocurrency on: January 31, 2020, 04:53:22 AM
They will be useful only then they will have normal fees

I agree with this statement.

Currently, the Philippines has only two (2) bitcoin ATMs and they started on the year 2016. As far as I know, there are no updates regarding the further developments about the units and plans if they are to increase its number. Based from what I heard in our community, the fees are significantly higher compared if you withdrew your bitcoins using your local exchange. Nevertheless, news like these are generally positive and may attract more users in investing into bitcoin.

4144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you know if a gambling site is scam or not? on: January 31, 2020, 02:08:18 AM
I wonder how you do your research if a gambling site is scam or not?

This would depend on several factors, such as:

  • Number of years the gambling site has been operating;
  • Number of users that are actually participating;
  • Its reputation via feedback from users or participants;
  • It has its own domain; and
  • If the support system is relatively good.

Most well-known gambling sites have a good support system that meets the need of its users. While some gambling sites have been around for years, what would make or break it would be the support system as people will be having problems about depositing/withdrawing their funds. Another thing that you have to consider is the feedback from its participants. This forum can be used to check if the gambling site has positive reviews from its users as that will determine its reputation.
4145  Economy / Economics / Re: Corona Virus and The Effect on The Markets on: January 30, 2020, 12:32:30 PM

The Corona virus is spreading and is visible in the financial markets as well as in Bitcoin : https://youtu.be/DZ7Ps70of4I

Well if you'll observe, the market has gone positive quite recently. I don't know if there's any connection but it seems that circumstances like these would make digital and electronic transaction more relevant. It's safer that p2p contact transactions. I think there are people who also thinks this way and looks ahead, boosting crypto's stock. We've quite sustained 9k already for a few days.

The virus just started less than a month from now but if it remains to persist, it may definitely affect the stocks and the general price of goods in the market. As of now, businesses that produce face masks, alcohol, and other medicine related stuff are on the positive side as more people demand these products.

One thing you have to consider is the impact of the virus to the public. If people are not willing to leave their houses for fear of acquiring the virus, people who usually do their business at their house are unaffected by it (e.g. traders, stocks, etc.). But again, this kind of epidemic may be unpredictable and affect foreign relations of countries to China despite prioritizing their current health situation.
4146  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: How is KYC enforced in Bitcoin ATMs worldwide? on: January 30, 2020, 09:11:51 AM
How should i prepare on this while travelling? They just placed KYC in Btc ATMs here in Finland, and i either need to have a previously registered Coinmotion account with kyc, or have online banking codes to withdraw any money.

So i am interested in how much i can rely on Btc ATMs with travelling on some other country and can i rely my Finnish online bank codes working as kyc or do i need to prepare somehow?

USA here and it depends on the company setting the standards for their machines. Some require KYC to buy small amounts of BTC while others are less demanding. Similar for getting cash they are not all the same.

As in the case of Philippines, there are currently only two (2) bitcoin ATMs available and I heard that the system seems to be buggy with errors. Most of the time, it is unavailable and out of service but if you stumble across one, I would suggest to avoid it. The rates and fees are too high in order to withdraw some of your funds. If you are really desperate, I would suggest to check first your local bitcoin exchange platform and see their available services for withdrawing.

Like what most people have mentioned, travelling abroad and supplying your details with their KYC requirement may be a bad idea that may put yourself at risk. Anything that is related to your information can be used against you especially that these ATMs are not regulated by the government.
4147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Win a Presidential plane... on: January 30, 2020, 03:24:46 AM
<snip...>

Assuming that all the 6 million tickets were sold for 25$ each, the owner will at least receive 20 million dollars in profit!

I know that my luck in gambling and the odds are always against me, but if I have a spare $25 that I could use for the raffle, I can try my luck and see what it comes next! I mean, who would use a presidential plane for their leisure? The maintenance fees, hanger rentals, etc. would cost a fortune, so the obvious pick would be to sell the plane.

I know from the start it sound like a fucking joke and the last option to sell the presidential plane, but i have some news for you guys, the lotto tickets has been created... So, the plan is moving on.
Thanks for the image share!

Of course this one would proceed yet the man involved on here is the president itself.He wont make any announcement if he wouldnt make it happen.
It isnt a fucking joke on first read up yet these guys do have the capacity on having a presidential plane.  Grin

The problem would be looking for buyers for the lottery tickets. $25 for a ticket is relatively expensive given the chances of one winning and the people who are willing to buy those tickets. If the owner would first sell all the 6 million tickets before starting the raffle, then I think it would take some time before the winner gets announced.
4148  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Advertisers' Future within Yobit, will it be discontinued again??? on: January 29, 2020, 11:36:36 PM

And as far as know may thread sila about Investbox dun mismo sa kanila CryptoTalk Forum, I don't know how to read russian and sa palagay ko eh pinupush pa rin nila ang scam na yun dun.

It is really a good thing this thread was created in order to WARN users if ever magkakaroon uli ng re-launch ang YoBit campaign.

Since madami nang backlash and negative feedback ang YoBit sa forum, mga kababayan na nag-iisip na sumali ay dapat mag-dalawang isip. Masyadong mataas ang risk for getting tagged by the DT members especially na nagiging branded na ito as a scam site.

At the end of the day, tatanungin mo na lang sarili mo kung worth it ba na sumali sa YoBit campaign pero with the risk of losing your account sa forum.
4149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: On most altcoins disappearing on: January 29, 2020, 11:25:25 PM
In the same vein it is natural to assume that the death of the altcoin world would eventually do only good to Bitcoin in the long run as people won't be losing money anymore. So what d'ya think?

This would depend on whether the cause on which most altcoins disappeared has something to do with the market or prohibitions caused by third-parties (e.g. government, etc.).

If the cause of disappearance has something to do with a prohibition executed by counties in disallowing the utilization of alternate coins in general, then expect that this may also affect bitcoin negatively.

On the other hand, if the cause of disappearance of altcoins has something to do with the shift of the investor's interest in the market and they are leaning towards investing MORE in bitcoin, then this may affect bitcoin in its price positively. This would entirely depend on the reason on why altcoins are slowly dying on the market.
4150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone here dream of achieving their financial goal in life through gambling? on: January 29, 2020, 10:51:24 PM
For people who does not have enough income to live a comfortable life, we try to find ways to end the struggle, we take big risk to gain big rewards so if we will be successful, we don't need to work anymore and just enjoy the rest of our life doing the things that we can't do due to lack of money.

are you one of the people who dream like this?

To answer your question, no.

When it comes to dreaming big, I always aim to achieve the highest possible scenario that I could possibly attain regardless on how much income I earn. Although there may be ways in order to receive a significant amount of cash in a relatively faster time (via gambling), it's just not worth to risk. Having limited resources makes you feel that every dime counts in saving/losing money.

Controlling emotions and imagination is not easy in gambling, I once imagined that if I succeeded in the jackpot then I would buy a car, motorcycle or other. This makes me even more excited to gamble and the negative side effects that arise when I cant control it are the more money I spend on betting without even realizing it.
Yeah, I think everyone of us already do that thing , we believe that when we gambled, we will become rich and our financial status would be stable, but are not aware in the fact that time that when we gamble we need to take the risk and we cannot avoid losing money , the only thing we can do is to have a proper money management do not rely your status or goal in gambling.

There is always that feeling of hope whenever someone wins in gambling. The endless cycle starts when a person wins in gambling and he thinks over and over again that he may win again IF he stays and gambles. This would either make or break his career since every loss will actually let him think that he can recover it by gambling again his resources.

4152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often do you gamble? on: January 29, 2020, 02:41:06 AM
Are you gambling everyday?
twice a week?
once in a never again?

if you gamble everyday, can you stop whenever you want or are you fully addicted?

would love to hear more on your habits here on the forum.

Back in 2015, I had a phase where I would gamble every weekends together with my brother. We both experienced wins and losses but I considered everything worth it due to the fact that we bonded as brothers. Currently, I already stopped gambling as it took a toll in my savings but I definitely felt the loss of resources at that time.

People who gamble everyday may suffer chronic addiction which can be destructive in the long-run given its effects to the individual and to his future. If he/she cannot simply put an end to this, he may require support and help from his peers or from his family members. Remember that curing addiction is not an overnight process as this will require patience and effort from both your parents and to yourself as well.

4154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What did you learn as a gambler? on: January 02, 2020, 03:59:54 PM
You probably heard the negative sides of gambling, some people who dont gamble has this bad impression towards it and we cant blame them for thinking that way because of the bad affect of gambling to a person who dont have control and let himself became addicted.

Now what did you realize or learn as a gambler (regardless if you became an addicted or not) that you can share to others?

As a former addicted gambler I realized that gambling is not the answer if you're desperate to grow your money and should not be our last resort in times like this because there's other way that can be the solution to our problem when it comes to money.

I would categorize my learnings throughout my gambling experience into two (2) categories, namely: Personal and Social aspect.

For the first category, my personal life has been continuously improving especially with my relationship to my family. Ever since I moved on from my gambling addiction, I always make it a point to overcompensate to the people that I have affected throughout my stay. I try my best to support my family members in both financial and in the spritual aspect.

On the social aspect, my relationship with my peers have been better ever since I got out from my addiction. I also managed to save up some cash in order to start my own business soon.
4155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are so few women buying into Bitcoin? on: December 11, 2019, 08:59:20 AM
It amazes me the number of men in crypto but women not so much.
When I talk to my girlfriend or female friends I feel like they don't care about it or I am crazy lol. I offered 3 of my female friends 10 dollars worth of Bitcoin via Coinbase to see if they will be interested.  I helped download the app, set up two-factor authentication and some other basic stuff. After a couple of months, they even don't recall how to access their wallets. I am very disappointed lol. Can someone explain to me why women are not interested in crypto?

Maybe the answer to this question is not entirely due to the gender but on the interests of either the male or the female sex.

Generally, men are inclined in experimenting PC related technology and women tend to focus more on beauty or fashion (notwithstanding female investors). There are also factors that you have to consider like the environment where the person grew-up, the friends/peers that they are with, and their financial capability of investing into such. Gender is not the problem but the interests is what divides these gender into their respective roles.
4156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have there been any money laundering schemes that used cryptocurrency? on: December 04, 2019, 03:19:05 AM
<snip...>

One of the most famous websites back in the days was Silk Road, where large exchanges and transactions were done anonymously in the website via purchasing services/products. In this way, most people have laundered money all over the world without the need of paying taxes. Not to mention, the website is full of products (e.g. drugs, drug equipments, etc.) and the FBI had seized around 28,000 BTCs at the website.

Just to add, this is one of the reasons on why some countries are hesitant to legalize bitcoin transactions due to its anonymity factor which could lead to a proliferation of drug abuses and transactions.
4157  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Are Women Slowly Leaning On To Crypto Trade? on: November 27, 2019, 09:21:38 AM
Well, that's actually the research show and not just on trading but in fact into crypto itself. Men are more into technology and investment while women are more focus on their respective careers. However, they are great on handling money and just invest on what they think it's best.

Trading not have know with your gender male or female,
It is and as long as you profited good, it doesn't matter. It's just that men are more keen on details in graph and can think more logically. Don't get me wrong on this, I'm also into gender equality.
I think it is hard to say that. I knew some women who are into with cryptocurrency more than some of my guy friends. I think it is more than just the gender if you think about it. It just so happened that the number of males who are into with technology especially some nerdy stuff than female though it is a matter of what the person's interests are. It all comes down to their environment and how open minded they are in accepting this new kind of way to earn by trading.

I also don't think that gender is a big issue in terms of cryptocurrency trading. There are male and female traders. It will not be equal because it is impossible to have equal male and female traders. The more important point is that there is no gender bias nor gender exclusion. There is nothing that says cryptocurrency trading is only for the males or the females and that the opposite sex is not allowed in the business.

This is true. I do not see the reason on highlighting the issue about women learning about cryptocurrency trading. Gender equality means access to all rights equally with the gender being immaterial in all sense. It does not mean that if the subject is technical (aka CRYPTOCURRENCIES) it is only limited to men who are inclined on this field. Women are slowly evolving and adhering toward the things that men can initially do.

Again, every individual needs a form of an alternative investment especially if there are needs/obligations that they need to meet consistently. Given that there are lots of single mothers who have the sole responsibility of rearing their children, it is a no-brainer that they would explore the means of earning additional income.
4158  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Pera sa Internet, Tara usap tayo! on: November 27, 2019, 12:00:18 AM
<snip...>

4159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why are you gambling? on: November 26, 2019, 11:03:58 PM
I am actually relieved when I saw the results that majority of the players that gamble find it enjoyable and fun at the same time. Unfortunately, when you hope to win in gambling, it creates this illusion that superficially, you may admit that you are not addicted but you do enjoy the thought of winning, which would then cascade into addiction soon thereafter.

I think, buying Crypto is like gambling ?
Not not really because you intention to buy is to invest not to gamble.

There's a big difference on the gambler's side as they are buying crypto using it as a tool to gamble while investors are hoping for the increase of value so they can sell at a profit, though bought you gamble with the risk, but they are completely different.

When you purchase cryptocurrency, there are risks involve. Unlike in gambling, everything revolves around the odds of winning and there is no other way that you can at least limit the chances of losing. Investing is a whole risk but there are a plethora of ways in order to minimize your losses and maximize your winnings at the same time.
4160  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this a sign of the next Bitcoin bull run? Or just another bull trap? on: November 26, 2019, 10:18:07 PM
Contrary to most people that think about the decrease on its price, people should take into consideration the opportunities that it provide in the long-run.

 Just to give a concrete example, the price of bitcoin has been steadily increasing over the past few years with some major increase/decrease but the trend is always on the increasing side. Even if the price dropped to around $7,200, the price would increase in the next few weeks or months. This is always been the case and I am only using the history of its price to back this contention!

Again, if there were accurate signs to predict the next price of bitcoin, then everyone would be rich by now. No one can accurately predict what would happen next but always take the negative side in to your advantage.
