I really don't think this will happen, we don't even have a confirmation e-mail, and you are talking about restrictions.

If you browse a bit trough theymost's post history you will find out that he likes the freedom and any forms of restrictions are not tolerated here.
So proposing suggestions in this direction is just waste of time and effort. I don't think anything will change in the near future.
I suggested the homographs to be forbidden and added to the rules long ago but without any success which was just a tiny little change and I got support from many members here still nothing happen to this very day, so don't expect changes.
I was also enthusiastic like you in the beginning until I understood how the thinks are working here.

Well, I'm extracting all the profile links from the search results, so unfortunately the thread starters are also included in this list.
The first case with theymos is that he started the HoweyCoins ICO thread and MagicSmocker left this comment:

Haiku bot approves! Apperceptive plan, advisable logo, percipient website!  Tongue
Should I laugh or cry that this thread has gone on for 37+ pages? Yes.

So both accounts are now in the list.

The second case with hilariousetc is a bit different, he has quoted one of the haiku bots here :
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4654923.msg42027113#msg42027113

And the third case with Welsh is just a regular haiku bot activity. Welsh just used the word and got listed Cheesy

- Satellite communication
You might recall hearing about messages being delivered via pigeon, telegrams (which were invented in the American civil war or radios which were not very reliable and could be tapped into very easily by simply being on the same channel. Radios also had a certain distance in which they wouldn't be able to transmit to each other.
Of course satellites are used for all sorts of things now including being used by everest base camp to get medical care to climbers who are suffering with Cerebral hypoxia and getting them helicopter evacuation down to lower levels. Without the invention of satellite communication expeditions such as Everest, K2 and the like would be much more risky than it is today.

Something else got my attention here >
212      Erik Fox        BPIP
213      Erik Foxx        BPIP

I think I've reported those two some time ago in other case, its obvious that they are alts Smiley

BTW before reporting a profile, check their status in the BPIP link after the name, there you can see if the profile is already banned and how many posts are already deleted. Smiley

Edited: fixed some typos Cheesy

The Haiku Bots Case > by request of suchmoon
Part 2, keyword > cerebral
(1-250)
The results are all accounts posted/quoted the keyword. Total: 250
Update: This list is for the last 120 days.
Note: I had no time to remove the "quoters", I have to have some free time to fine tune the tools I use.

4184  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Points-- At what levels are the points allotted? on: August 09, 2018, 05:28:49 PM
This is something I wrote sometime ago. Read it, maybe it will be clear after that.
The source is here, there is more interesting info : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2534500.0
Quote
From 25.01.18 you have to collect Merit point together with the activity points in order to Rank-up. This was done to increase the quality of the posts and to prevent the spam.
Here is the new requirements for ranking up according to the forum Administrator- theymos. This is the copy from the Merit & new rank requirements topic, links you will find in extra info section
"In addition to activity, everyone now has a merit score, and you need both a certain activity level and a certain merit score in order to reach higher member ranks."
For reference see the table above.
I hope you will find your answers in the Q/A section. I'll try to list as many as possible.

Q/A Section:

Q: Well, how to collect Merit points?
A: "You get merit points when someone sends you some for one of your posts. Additionally, when someone sends you merit points, half of those points you get as sMerti (sendable Merit) and they can be sent by you to other people."

Q: Who is giving these points?
A: There will be certain people called "merit sources" which will give points to quality posts. They are 57 79 at the moment I wrote this , see Merit Statistics link below. In addition according your rank and the merit points you have received you can also give to posts you like, so we can say that everyone can give sMerit.

Q: OK but c'mon, how to get Merit points on my posts?
A: There is no recipe for collecting merit but here are some guidelines. The most important is to try to contribute in some way to the forum. Stay away from breaking the forum rules, learn proper English in order to communicate effectively with the community, be helpful and creative, and the last advice is: don't push it too hard, you just gonna stuck on your current rank. Improving yourself will improve your rank too, I'm sure. See the reference on the bottom

Q: How many Merit points I have ?
A: Follow the link Check your Merit, there you can check your points and there will be listed also the points you have received and for which post and the points you have given.

Q: I want to know more about the Merit Points System
A: You have to follow the Merit & new rank requirements link below, it's a long discusion there.

The initial sMerit formula is here, thanks to theymos :
The exact formula was:
Code:
yearActivity = activity in the last ~year, max 378
freeMerit = the merit (not sMerit) you started with
modifier =
  0.1 if member
  0.2 if full member
  0.25 if sr member
  0.35 if hero
  0.4 if legendary

return (yearActivity/378) * modifier * freeMerit

Thanks i will hit me in that too starting from the last post on !    Wink

If you do some work here let me know so I can strike out the ones that are already checked. No need to double check it later.

@suchmoon, I did't make it today either, but as we still have a number of accounts to review, I'll post the next keyword database in a short time Smiley
4186  Other / Meta / Re: Hidden boards as a reward for high merited users and reporters on: August 09, 2018, 01:13:18 PM
This is a great idea, just wonder how long it will take to be implemented if accepted /which we will never know as theymos keep silence on such things/.
It is better to have it hidden from the public with exclusive access only to people with combination of some minimum reports and merit.
It can have the same rules as the Ivory Tower, so no additional posts are and activity are generated, and same no signature spamming just in case.
There will be a perfect place for my club project as we post information on what we are working on and we and which keywords we are currently analyzing. So basically this type of information is quite sensitive for the bumping bots owners.

At the moment most of the information is exchanged by PMs but since this is a collaborative work it will be much easier for us to work together on a designated board.

4189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Discussion]How to decentralize the price of the bitcoin? Self-moderated. on: August 09, 2018, 10:37:43 AM
I plan on writing more on topic about this, but to anyone that argues that Satoshi's vision was to create Bitcoin to be a currency and not an asset... Sorry, but that's not a valid argument to use to implicate that Bitcoin should be used solely as a currency.

Take actual fiat currency, for example. It's made (literally) as a currency. Does that mean I need to spend it all and not hold any in savings, stocks, bonds, 401k, etc.? Just because Satoshi's vision of Bitcoin was intended to operate as a currency doesn't mean that we can't HODL, and I think it's about time everyone stopped using this as an argument as to what's slowing down Bitcoin's progress. Roll Eyes

That's different, you use your "paper currency" /which is a big part digital now/ for the day-life expenses.
You have savings for sure, like the saving account, pension fond etc., but all those money are in circulation too, they are not stored somewhere for a long period/of course if you don't keep them in the "jar bank" under your bed/.

We are talking about banks now. The money in your "saving account" are not actually there, if you go one day and withdraw all the money, it's OK, the bank can handle it, but if all the customers will withdraw their money at once, the bank most likely will be bankrupted, because all those money they have on paper are not actually there, they are in circulation, the bank operate with them, even if you think they are there.

Now back to Bitcoin. If everyone is HODLing for the Moon, when the "currency" is not globally accepted yet, and we have a certain supply + you cannot "print" more just for the obvious reason, then the currency here becomes more an asset.

At the moment the global vision on bitcoin is just a tool to make you rich if you can HODL it long enough.
There always will be whales trying to crash the price to buy more and sell later so huge part of the current supply of bitcoin is blocked due to different reasons.
the main two /three/ are:
- The HODLers /including me/
- LOST keys/passwords
- Satoshi's stash /can belong to both above/

The rest in circulation is just a tiny amount of the total supply. The miners are the ones that are keeping the market alive, paying for new hardware, electricity, loans etc.

I think we have to find a way to change this trend, put a stick in the wheel to escape this closed circle.
4190  Other / Meta / Re: [LOG] The ranked up members - Congratulations! on: August 09, 2018, 10:13:35 AM
We can safely say that I will never rank up to become a legendary member, that really sucks.

You are already a legend*, why should you bother even ranking up?

(*) - You cannot deny your popularity in the forum, been positive or negative according someone, doesn't really matter. Trolls need a legend too. Smiley
Your trolling is entertaining for sure.

@ OP, Great work man. Keep it updated Smiley

Conclusion after the research:  ban evading
User firestormaow was banned and created two more profiles/see below/. But he messed them up so much that the abuse was obvious.

I found two profiles using the same telegram name and i'm almost certain that there are more connected profiles.

Thanks Lafu, iasenko, xtraelv and LoyceV. The most important thing is to extract the spammers from those topics so we could get rid of them permanently

Yeah, that's what we do in the club Smiley
I have quite some raw data for analysing, but not enough free time. After the vacation period at work is just crazy busy.
I'll keep posting in the club, till now we have some active reporters but not enough.
Lafu is the most dedicated to the cause, and I just wanted to say thanks to him for that.

I think they got their airdoped Merits and no more earned Merits. Cheesy . We can easily see their post history and I had to agree with you.
You are wrong here, the initial airdrop was only for the "member" rank and above, if you can't see the merit history of some users is because the form keeps track only for the last 120 days. LoyceV has a great tool to check the merit history, also checking the bpip.org now you can find the merit history too. There are many tools like this available, just search the meta.

Actually you're the one who gives the original idea of this kind of thread and I just do some filtering of data from DdmrDdmr.
I will be updating the thread surely and then we don't need to start another threads for searching members posts who actually needed one or two merits to rank up. It's all here.

I've closed my thread due to no longer need to wait some of those listed here to apply for my service.
That's why I'll keep an eye on this one. Smiley

After almost half a year of service, I'm now closing this thread as now there is already a list of all the people needing 1 merit to rank-up.
Big thanks to all the participants, it was a pleasure for me to help your way up.Big thanks to all the sponsors, the remain merit will be used on purpose Smiley
I may reopen this service again if it is needed.

OK, now I've been trough the list. Gave some merit to the ones I though they deserve but big part of the list are just shiposters. I wonder how they ended up gaining 9 merit.
For the higher ranked members I have not enough merit to fill them so, I give the opportunity to the others to do it.
I really hope this thread will be stay updated like, every week or so. so we can spread some merit to those who deserve.

Thanks vphasitha01 for turning my idea into reality Smiley

~

I have already started a separate accusation thread against CLIXCO.IN, you can see it here > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4828861.msg43570794#msg43570794

They basically give a bonus just to post in their ANN, so people involved in this are not actually bots.

You can do giveaways off-site and link to the giveaway page in a thread, but you can't give people any bonus for replying to your thread.

User: suchmoon
Case: Haiku Bots part 1 (apperceptive)
From/to: 1-50
Status: Done

There are some very prolific spammers in the list, like this guy with 8000 posts and still not banned:

48      theymos        BPIP

I'll update the list and the OP tomorrow.
Yes, I see him promoting scam ICO so, typical haiku bot Smiley
4200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Discussion]How to decentralize the price of the bitcoin? Self-moderated. on: August 07, 2018, 10:52:11 PM
Great, finally a good discussion here.

1. I'm not saying that my approach of price calculation is the best approach. It was just an example.

2.  I don't want to see the Bitcoin as an investment tool, an asset or Audi/lambo as suggested. Yeah the current situation is like this but the whole idea is not to HODL your bitcoins in a hope for the Moon or even Mars / well everyone does it, including me/ but to use them as a tool in the day life. I prefer to see it is a currency like the USD or EUR.

3.You won't buy dollars just to put them in a jar under your bed for a few years in a hope to rise their value. You gonna buy them because for example you are going to the US on vacation and you plan to spend them til the last cent.
In order this to happen to the Bitcoin too, the price has to be determined on another factor different than the ones we have today.

World of HODLers is devastating for the Bitcoin, I'm sure Satoshi won't be happy with it.

We are in the very beginning of the Crypto money and I hope that this dark period will be over soon.
