Does anyone know the details about the reconverge technology? My MNs and client nodes are all at a few different block heights. I would normally reindex to get on the right fork, but I'm taking this as an opportunity to test it. How long should I wait to see if my nodes and MNs reconverge? Is it a certain number or frequency of blocks that it checks? Will my MNs require a "masternode start" when they figure out the right fork? They currently show in the masternode list, but I imagine when they switch to the correct fork, that may no longer be the case.
I would love a good explanation of what to expect, or if anyone knows that they reconverged. Are there any messages in the log file that could confirm it is working?
Thanks all! Looking forward to testing this out!
Just --reindex, there are some issues with reconverge. We're going to test it more on testnet to figure out a better implementation of the tech.

The bad pools have caused enforcement not to work correctly, basically what's happening is they continued to mine the invalid chain with a lot of hashpower and ended up getting our clients into safemode, which automatically disables masternode payments. I'm writing a patch for 11.1.25 to fork and ban their clients. It will be available soon.
If you're having any issues, just restart with --reindex

there's a new update, .24! Mandatory? Cold start?
11.1.25 is coming soon Nevermind, enforcement is on and we've forked the bad pools. Everything looks good, upgrade to 11.1.24 if you please

Why did I pull out of DRK? Because of master-nodes. I dont wanna be a slave anymore…
savvy?
Correct me if i'm wrong... but didn't SDC copy/pasta masternodes from Darkcoin? Not sure about the Harold part but you definately got the child part right. NO YOU'RE WRONG. Evan wanted SDC tech. You got it ass backwards. No. I don't think zero-knowlege will cut it in the end. Off chain technology is where it's at. I actually wanted to bring all of them over to focus them in a direction that would actually work...

Mandatory Update to 11.1.23
After throughly testing masternode payments on testnet, we were surprised when they didn't work properly on mainnet and caused issues. As it turns out someone found a way to alter the masternode payment messages in transit and cause this behavior on mainnet. This has been fixed in 11.1.23, but the changes are not compatible with the prior versions, so we will require all users (pools, masternodes and normal users) to update. It's greatly appreciated that you update as turning on fair and enforced masternode payments is our highest priority currently.
* This update does not require a cold restart

I'm already using 0.11.1.22 .... Aiahhh sorry, i totally missed that one and can not find the official post ! Me neither, just saying I'm already on .22 ^^ 11.1.22 - Added spork for automatic resolution of forks This spork when activated replays the last X blocks and finds the longest chain, theoretically putting everyone back on the same one. The goal here is so we can move incredibly fast and forks on the network will become a non-issue that resolve themselves automatically. https://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/

I tried activating enforcement earlier and the message didn't propagate correctly, as a result It looks like some clients are stuck on block 218580. Please check, if you are then restart with --reindex. This was fixed in 11.1.21, so we shouldn't have this problem again.
Your client should match this: http://explorer.darkcoin.io/chain/Darkcoin

I don't even pay attention to Spreadcoin, The development update came from Francis and I chatting about it for weeks (Francis can vouch for the masternode improvement ideas being his in the document). There's some copying going on, but it's only in the other direction.

It will take some time to reach parity with Bitcoin ;-) what you are seeing now is nothing compared with what you will be seeing when the masses figure out what instantX has brought. It is the revolution of crypto currency making it better than any payment method existing, including credit and debit cards
How is it revolutionary? Ripple and BitShares have fast confirmation times for a long time. What else does InstantX provide? How fast? Recommended Confirmation Time: 1 block (10 secs) for BitShares, 1 block (10 secs) for Ripple. http://wiki.bitshares.org/index.php/BitShares/Why_BitSharesBitshares : Propagating blocks every 10 seconds won't allow the network to grow very large without tons of orphans. Darkcoin solves this by locking transactions into the next block while the block is being solved, this gives you the best of both worlds, really fast confirmation with a really stable network. Ripple: The beauty of InstantX is it's 100% decentralized. Ripple is not. Where else can you get 3-5 second confirmation in a completely decentralized way? All of the other solutions are flawed

You are right Tante. The links are diferents from the post of Evan on DarkcoinTalk. (do not use them!! Download from darkcoin.io)
I don't see them as different. They seem to all point at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/darkcoinprojectWhere were the links that you say are fake ? (I downloaded Mac wallets and Linux but I think I just googled darkcoin.io, I can't quite remember, but it was that post that prompted me). Oh yeah. I see it now, the URL root is different. The rogue is https://github.com/darkcoinproject while the official is https://raw.githubusercontent.com/darkcoinproject. F*ck. I hope no-one followed that. At least the Mac link is broken which is the one I would have used for my 'live' wallet. I downloaded the linux file (darkcoin-0.11.1.19-linux.tar.gz) from both sources and ran them through UltraCompare Professional Version 15.0.0.1006 using fast and slow binary compare modes. NO DIFFERENCES.Can somebody scan them using different tools? I did the same thing and got different hashes for the darkcoin-qt.exe's

Another way in which InstantX is a game changer
InstantX is a game changer in many ways, but I think one of the most important aspects is it allows Darkcoin to stand on its own from a Point of Sale perspective. For example, one of our Darkcoin Ambassadors is located in a nice tourist spot in Brasil and we are right now discussing strategy about his region. We believe there is a nice opportunity for small tourist shops in beach towns around Brasil where a lot of customers are American or European.
Instant X opens up this type of market to us, the idea of tourists shops in small towns taking crypto is obviously not novel. Tourists can take coins on their phones or laptops without having to deal with customs issues or exchanging money when they reach their destination. But cryptocurrency wasn't practical for small brick and mortar shops, until InstantX came about because it is a lot to ask for small souvenir shops around the world to establish relationships with payment processors like Bitpay, to be able to quickly serve customers.
No one wants to pay for something on a souvenir shop and wait 10 minutes before you can leave, also if you are a small tourist shop in Brazil you don't want to be obliged to have a relationship with some payment processing company in the United States or let people leave your shop without a confirmed payment is just not a good feeling and is a form of centralization.
Darkcoin, through InstantX, allows brick and mortar shops around the world to take crypto on their own without having to get service from some foreign company that will come with a bunch of KYC requirements, and do it in a way where you can serve customers just as fast, if not faster, than with credit cards.
No relationship with a bank or any other company necessary and no fees, if anything they just need to learn how to exchange their crypto for fiat in exchanges or just start spending crypto directly. This is way more scalable from a global perspective than expecting companies to confirm payments on behalf of people it is included directly in the protocol no need for workarounds and third parties.
I am excited to see what we can do with this in the Darkcoin Ambassador Group we are already 30 volunteers looking to promote Darkcoin on our cities if you want to help, just reach out.
You just convinced me to port IX to the android wallet

On mainnet, 3.5 seconds for confirmation Status: 5/confirmed (verified via instantx), broadcast through 21 node(s) Date: 2/10/15 08:46 Debit: -3.14 DRK Credit: 3.14 DRK Transaction fee: -0.01 DRK Net amount: -0.01 DRK Transaction ID: f20198faa0da8939a0e36cbcc9b8b89ca2930416c911e5853b1630722334e2e4-000 WOW!! I just did an instantX transaction in 4 seconds on mainnet.... This is even faster than we thought :-) Edit: faster than Credit and Debit cards :-) 4 seconds is incredible, looks like the messaging system I wrote is working perfectly That's also mean that the MN network is really healthy. no? I really thought I could get 7 seconds all along, but 5 seconds is insane.
