421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Next 100x? on: December 03, 2017, 04:54:17 AM
Take a look at Quantumstamp (QSP) and Golem (GNT), both are currently massively undervalued, but will likely go up quickly.
422  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to motivate a person to work? on: December 03, 2017, 04:44:23 AM
Anyone who thinks money is the biggest motivator in the workplace, has clearly not managed many people. More than anything people want to feel valued and empowered. Dictating...i.e. the outdated "control and command" management model is fatally flawed, and will create resentment and contempt, no matter how much you pay them, demotivating the individual and eventually the entire team.

If you want people to be motivated, give them the tools/training they need and guide them, but don't dictate. Encourage them to share their views and ideas, and if they're good, implement them. If they're not so good, help them understand the gaps in their thinking, but lead them to it, so that it becomes theirs. Engage in radical candor. No body is above the truth, management included. Respect people's work/life balance. Burnt out people that never have time for family/sleep/self become miserable and unproductive.

I'm a huge believer in agile and agile transformation. When teams start to self-organize, they bond, respect each other, and start to swarm - helping each other with tasks. Agile has cut my team's average working week from 55-60 Hrs to 38-40 Hrs. Like they say, work smarter not harder.
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the best Ethereum wallet? on: December 03, 2017, 03:12:52 AM
If you can deal withe the installation, regular updates and command line syntax changes, I'd suggest Geth with Ethereum Wallet/Mist. It can be a pain in the backside at times though (for instance today --syncmode "light" stopped working, and I had to switch to "fast" as it couldn't find any peers). However, it's one the most secure option, second only to Nano Ledger, and allows you to develop smart contracts.

If you just want simplicity, with the best possible security, get a Nano (I have two, one I can travel with, and one stashed away as a duplicate/backup). https://www.ledgerwallet.com/products/ledger-nano-s.

424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: when you try to explain people about cryptocurrency do they understand? on: December 03, 2017, 03:02:25 AM
Most people I talk have heard of cryptocurrency, but they often think it's bonkers. However, even the ones that think positively of it get baffled and their eyes glaze over the moment you try to explain any of the technical aspects of it, or details of a specific project. It's completely overwhelming for them.

The main thing I've found that resonates, it's just telling them that cryptos at their most basic level, are just an encrypted transaction ledger that can store numerous different types of information.
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🔷 trade.io 🔷[ANN] [PRE-ICO] 🔷Trade Token 🔷 HitBTC & Etherdelta Approved on: December 03, 2017, 12:49:32 AM
As most of you know, participants of the Pre-ICO have received an email with instructions few hours ago, regarding the way to receive their tokens. This was very happy news for participants, as tokens are received much earlier than expected, before the ICO ends.

Also contributors have an additional reason to be very happy. They have received 150 bonus tokens for every 1000 Trade Tokens. This is an additional bonus which the community of TIO fans has embraced!

I am sure you are all waiting to hear the next big thing with trade.io

For the time, I would like to encourage everyone to proceed and follow the instructions on the email!

All the best to all!

I'm just waiting for the ICO to open so I can stock up on more and get a better liquidity pool rating/percentage  Grin

Great work by the Trade.io team.
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [Ann][ICO Complete!!] Loopring -- Decentralised Exchange and Open Protocol on: December 03, 2017, 12:33:06 AM
interesting, thanks for 5 LRC. Not sure why I received them, but thanks a lot.

I also just noticed 5 LRC in my main ETH account. I did a little googling to find this thread and a Medium article they posted earlier today: https://medium.com/@loopring/we-just-kicked-off-a-hi-5-lrc-airdrop-b7e3b6430aa9

Looks interesting.
427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AIRDROP][ICO]HousePanda, 1st tokenized supercomputer incubated by NVIDIA on: December 02, 2017, 09:22:08 PM
This is one project I will commit to. The brilliance of super computing is my personal passion as am sure it will focus on Quantum computing which is the next big thing for computer development as a whole. And for Nvidia involvement is just as extraordinary.

Thank you - House Panda runs on enthusiasm, and knowing people like yourself are interested and supportive is important.
We hope to be able to keep upgrading the supercomputer so that one day we will upgrade to a quantum supercomputer. Far-fetched, but this is why we pay a lot of attention to setting up a credible financial and revenue structure for the project. It seems that only a private initiative will be able to open supercomputing to be used by everyone - governments and universities had supercomputers for decades, yet still no open access.
NVIDIA Inception, to be fair, surpassed our expectations. We are part of a private chat group and we are constantly plugged into opportunities, news and networking with other Inception participants. This is probably only possible in China and USA - things move very fast. In China, right now, even faster. In America you don't really have VCs on Whatsapp - in China you do. If we had to run within a more formal incubation structure this project would be more difficult to do and even to imagine.

Show us some credible links announcing the partnership...Oh wait...you can't. There are none.

Feel free to support the projects that you like - nobody is forcing you to pay attention to this one. We have just announced the project and released very little information. We will release more in the future. There is little need to spam forums with opinions that have no basis in reality.
Further spam will be reported to moderator.

This isn't spam, it's stating valid concerns about this project. I could just as easily report you to the BTT forum mods, Twitter mods and NVIDIA. If there is a genuine partnership, I would be happy to participate and invest. Please prove me wrong and post proof of NVIDIAs involvement.
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Quantstamp - The First Decentralized Smart Contract Security Platform on: December 02, 2017, 09:14:20 PM
I am also entertaining the idea to liquidate all of my shit coins and buy a bag of QSP. Its dirt cheap right now.

Liquidate the crap ones, but keep the good ones. But definitely...get as much as you can while it's cheap. QSP is massively undervalued, mainly because a lot of people are expecting instant gratification, or don't understand the business model.
429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FLiK on: December 02, 2017, 09:10:48 PM
I know people are upset, but try to keep it civil.

It's hard to say for sure if Ryan has done a runner with everyones hard earned cash, but...it's not uncommon for a team to hunker down and focus on product before revealing to the public. Unfortunately in the crypto space, everybody wants instant gratification. I see just as much FUDding on projects that are rock solid.

Ryan's silence is a little deafening, which is a bad move, but if it comes to it and noting gets delivered by end of Q1/early Q2, the community could quite easily mount a class-action suite against him and his partners. After all, they're all US citizens, working and living in Atlanta - we have recourse if need be, but posting abuse on here will just damage any case we may want to bring.

For the time being I encourage you all to stop the name calling/insults and focus more on unity and a coalition to take action should it really turn out to be a scam.
430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🔷 trade.io 🔷[ANN] [PRE-ICO] 🔷Trade Token 🔷 HitBTC & Etherdelta Approved on: December 02, 2017, 08:35:10 PM
From what I understand Hitbtc is going to be supporting TIO tokens, are there any others announced as yet? Any word on Binance?
431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]MomsAvenue - Blockchain Platform For Women Entrepreneurship-New DAO and R&R on: December 02, 2017, 03:30:28 AM
I'm quite enthusiastic about the potential for this project and ICO, but I don't understand the token distribution model. Looking at the whitepaper and the pre and ICO token sales distribution, I'd like to better understand what happens with the remaining tokens.

If the total amount is 2,200,000,000

Pre-ico is 17,200,000

ICO is 862,800,000

And bounty allocation is 10,000,000

=890,000,000

That leaves 1,310,000,000 tokens.

According to the whitepaper, 50% is supposed to go to the community. How will the balance be distributed to the Moms Avenue community, and over what time period (e.g. how many years)? The whitepaper states a 12 month lock, but does that mean they could all hit the market after one year, causing a huge deflation in value, and how is that 50%? The math doesn't add up.

Please elaborate.

Regarding 50%. We are looking for a long-term deal with Community. Tokens in this list will not hit exchange or traded. These tokens could go to users via Rating and Reward system. Rewards will be managed by supply and demand principles to avoid impact on token price.

Our constrains
  • Tokens will move from this pool via smart contacts only.
  • Tokens from community development pool will be used for community development only.
  • Tokens in community development pool will NOT be listed on Exchange.
  • It will be a constraint not allowing to use more than 20% community development pool in 12 months period.
  • Tokens usage will be balanced using supply and demand principles.
  • Tokens will be accessible via Moms Avenue platform only.

Thanks for the feedback, appreciate the response.

433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: December 02, 2017, 02:41:12 AM
I'm never touching XRP, this is such an over valued token waiting to pop and dump hard.
The speculation is based on the burn rate for doing transactions, yet most investors fail to realise that even if all banks used it , I would take THOUSANDS of years to burn a significant % of the supply. Plus less than 40% of the total supply is circulating ... This is a recipe for disaster and will leave many burning

You obviously have no idea about amount of transactions done DAILY in banks across the globe

Yes , I do, you obviously don't know the burn rate and supply amount of XRP

You obviously don't know about supply amount of XRP and what is behind, weak at math, no vision etc and etc

Every day ask myself what I doing with this 90% of retards and laggards that can not educate themselves

Anyway it looks like Brad is very bullish now on XRP and mentions it in every Twitter post:

https://twitter.com/bgarlinghouse

Price goes is nowadays 0.25USD which is more than happy and still drop in ocean.

And my favorite:

Ripple's technology is great, but their token is awful.
The banks can easily use a forked version to avoid buying XRP off the market, but even if they did:
The default transaction fee is 10 drops (0.00001 XRP). So we need to burn 1 XRP for each 100k transactions.
If ALL SWIFT transactions would be replaced by XRP that means that there would be an average of 28M transactions in the Ripple network per day
So, daily only 280 XRP would be burned and to burn even 1% of the total supply it would take over 10.000 years
I think you guys need to do better your research before you invest in anything

Even with the total supply hitting the market at $1 a piece, that would be $100 billion. Visa alone has a market cap of $251.23B.

When you take into account fiat currencies, and spread that on a global scale, it's really not that big.

There are currently over 35 $100+B in the US alone (several of which are on target to hit $1 trillion next year). Factor in the release of XRP over time, and it's not inconceivable to top $1T by the time the full amount is circulated.

1. You can not compare shares market cap and asset market cap, they are two different things
2, Market capacity in crypto is bullshit, if everyone tomorrow start trading 1 XRP for 1000$, than it is really does not matter the total supply of the coins, because you simply will not be able to buy them all. Lock up driven by market.
3. Last, $1 is ~40B not 100B

Currently circulating would be $40B at $1 per XRP, as stated if the total supply were circulated and valued at $1 per XRP, it would be $100B.

This is complete BS. There is no NVIDIA backing. It's called brand violation folks.

All the links on the site are general information, nothing calling out House Panada in any of them. Stay away from this scam.

It never ceases to amaze me how poorly informed some of the FUDders on this forum are. Heavy on opinions, light on facts. A good, well formulated argument deserves fair play and discussion, but that's not what tends to happen here. There is TONS of positive news articles coming out about Ripple on a near daily basis. How many cryptocurrencies can claim the same? If you're going to bash Ripple, state facts and show reference materials/links, etc. to justify your claim. Otherwise you're just acting like a toddler kicking toys over in the crib, spitting the dummy and having a tantrum rather than having an educated conversation.
438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AIRDROP] Piggies - Charitable - Potentially profitable - Everybody wins on: December 02, 2017, 12:25:53 AM
Quick update: I just closed the airdrop form.
Today, the final airdrop round will be performed; then, 50% of the remaining coins will be distributed to paying contributors (feel free to still make a contribution; it will still count Smiley).

Finally, we'll go make some pigs happy this month!

Given the naming conflict, is there any plan to do a token swap, and if not, what's the plan for dealing with listings? The current link to Etherdelta is not viable, as it's not discoverable from the token menu, and you can't get an approved listing using the contract address. What's the game plan?
439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [PTOY] Patientory Healthcare on the Blockchain on: December 01, 2017, 11:14:55 PM
It's December now. Where is the App?
News are mainly about ceo's person and her person, not about the tech or a project.

Good morning -

Please feel free to check out the most up-to-date roadmap available on our website and the Q4 AMA available on Periscope to view anytime.

Thank you,
The Patientory Team

I'm (perhaps misguidedly) a strong believer in this project, but this kind of canned answer doesn't help. Especially when there is no roadmap to be found anywhere on the site. After doing a little digging, I found an entry in the FAQ telling users to: "Please request a copy through our contact form. We would be happy to send you a copy."

I would likewise request a two way code of conduct, asking that the Patientory team post factual and clear answers to questions or criticism, not factually incorrect blanket responses.

440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: December 01, 2017, 11:03:55 PM
The Tangle can be easily hacked... I lost money, search on google for hundreds of IOTA wallets that get hacked daily!!! IOTA is the least safe crypto in the top 100 coins.

https://steemit.com/iota/@squidlings/does-iota-have-a-fisher-price-mode-i-got-hacked-have-you

It seems that you baghold Icash and some other shitcoins.

Who doesn't have a few airdropped shitcoins? That doesn't make the article any less valid. Do some Googling and you'll find a lot more examples.

The project has real potential, but the risk of losing coins due to wallet updates, or reused tx addresses is a big concern.
