Still profitable for me I pay $0.049 for power and my rigs are two years old.   But I don’t mine ether better options right now.   No idea who will mine eth when the block reward drops by 1/3.
422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dayun Zig Z1: Unboxing, Review and Setting Up. on: October 02, 2018, 09:26:11 PM
you can do that on blockmaster/zergpool/zpool all mining lyra2rev2 pool payment in btc or ltc.  Better return then nicehash.

When ever I mine blockmaster/zergpool/zpool my returns are terrible, I'm using awesome miner.  Do you stick to just one algo or one coin?
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Efudd's Custom Z9 Overclock Firmware available! Satisfaction Guaranteed! on: October 01, 2018, 12:43:15 AM
When overclocking, what chip temps would you guys consider to be too high?

I'm seeing 66°C to 67°C at 700 MHz.

Of course, I have my fan set at 100%

I wonder if the chip heatsinks are smaller on the Z9 than the Z9 Mini.

My temps on the Z9 Mini, at 750 MHz are about 63°C

If that's true.  To really overclock these. We would need to make a hardware modification and heatsink the chips better.

Stable at 700?  I can't get my miner past 650 without affecting performance or crashing.  I'm changing the frequency using awesome miner, is their a better way to do it?

Two of mine from the first batch shipped yesterday DHL.

Want to get me the firmware off of yours when they land? Willing to work with you on it...

What are discarded shares?  Seems I 4 to 1 accepted to discarded shares.  I know you don't want a lot of rejects but not sure about discarded.

Free version working great for me, I'm going to buy the paid version in a minute.  What is a safe high end temp for the PCB and Chip?

Mines still in China!

henzhen,  China   09/21/2018   1:59 A.M.   A mechanical failure has delayed delivery. We're adjusting plans to deliver your package as quickly as possible. / Delivery will be rescheduled.
429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: XMR difficulty increase - FPGAs??? on: September 20, 2018, 09:44:43 PM
Could it be people switching from eth?  I know that is my plan for my amd cards when eth raises the difficulty.
430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: September 10, 2018, 10:27:31 PM
Anyway to make the miner profit switch between pools I set up?
431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Reduces Block Reward | ETH GPU Mining Will No Longer Be Profitable on: September 09, 2018, 03:17:42 AM
This decision has made me despise eth, i'm enjoying shorting it hope it burns.

I'm not too knowable on the tech behind eth but wouldn't it make sense to make scale better then be fixated on POS and screwing miners?  The least they should do is change the algo and kick off the asics.
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum EIP 1234 accepted on: August 31, 2018, 09:10:34 PM
Even if Ethereum mining dies, just keep in mind that Monero is well alive and the profitability is almost the same if you exchange the coins in bitcoin or if you mine through mining software like Nicehash which pays you in bitcoin.

This is just a common meeting between the devs and I doubt it will have any game over effect on mining Ethereum.

You think it will profitable after a lot of hashing power moves from eth to xmr?

What about ETC?

I would think profits go down for everything.  What we need is a rally only way to stave off lower profits when eth craps on us.

EPIE 1234 was brought up a few times. Essentially what we need can be summed in three bullet points :

1) Shift to ProgPOW to disable ASIC - both the existing ones and the ones to come soon ( 450mh/s and higher )
2) Delaying the Difficulty bomb by a year and a half to give enough time for Casper (hoping THIS TIME itll be ready)
3) Reducing block reward to 2 to counter inflation and Uncles - if done along-with step 1 and 2 it will not impact mining profitability.

They have agreed to meet again soon as no finality was reached in today's discussion.

Great info thanks looks like all good news.  I wounder how much of the hash rate is ASICs.  Better point my two ASICs to eth classic lol.
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Conference Call Today, Chances of Anti ASIC being approved on: August 24, 2018, 04:24:02 PM
True 1 ASIC miner for $1600 hashes just a little slower than 4 x 1080 Ti, which even using used parts would cost you at least $2500 to build.  The problem is mining farms that can negotiate volume pricing, and then launch thousands of these.

When I was building ether  only rigs I'd buy 470s and you can put together a 180mhz rig  as cheap or vless then a e3.  I'm seeing 470s for $100 - $150 on ebay that is a cheap ether rig.
436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Good time to buy GPUs? on: August 24, 2018, 04:05:27 PM
I am not a professional miner, I just want to learn how to do it, to mine bitcoin. I was wondering when it was best to buy mining equipment. Perhaps now the bottom of bitcoin and the best time to buy equipment, is it?

yep you bet, this is one of the best time to buy a rig

its logical that price would be at its lowest in bear market as its also low on demands due to mining profitability

however, this threads are for GPU's

Bitcoin is for ASICs
Monero networkis quite big also , you never now there might come another pow coin which would clime up in marketcap and would be profitable to mine. And there is couple on the line gpu minable coins which are close to 1bilj marketcap which mainets havent been launched yet.

Right now would be great but once ether goes pos what do you mine?  When and if pos goes into effect all the ether hashing power is going to go to the other coins and make them all unprofitable.  I'd love to build more rigs but I can't convince myself their are going to be other coins worth mining.

Isn't Casper being delayed for two years, maybe a little less?  Sometime in 2020?

That would be awesome, I din't know.   Grin
437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Conference Call Today, Chances of Anti ASIC being approved on: August 24, 2018, 02:45:44 PM
Not sure if anything good will come of this.  ASICs seem to be a non issues barely more efficient and slightly less costly then gpus.  If they raise the difficulty it will drive hashing power elsewhere lower profits for everything.

How can you make BTG work with mining pool hub profit switching?
440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: if you live in the EU, watch your profit. I've already turned off my rigs. on: August 08, 2018, 10:35:25 PM
Seems so many people are shutting down their rigs... however looking at the difficulty charts it doesn't reflect that. The difficulty is still climbing.

So most likely the difficulty will still go up, even if price goes lower.

https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate

I would think most of the big farms are not shutting down they have low electrical cost and are not operating at a loss.  I moved all my rigs to ether because of the lower electrical usage.

Watch sentiment, when the people get really disputant and give up is when the market will turn.
