seriously whats happening with BC? Volume is dropping and the price is following.

In long run so far to be honest i don't affraid so much competition: WC - straight copy/paste - premine YC - straight copy/paste - premine AC - straight copy/paste - premine Blue - straight copy/paste - premine Cinny - solomine/instamine to not be called premine haha (FUD? check Cinny blocks 1-620 diff=0.002 same time eg. BC at block nr 10 had diff 0.7 and...) anyway that was ONLY one coin who wanted promise more than BC. But many promisses give many coins not allways they will deliver them. I like BC because it delivers promises^^. Today many greedy people look want next BC train so in short price will go up or down. We should focus on adding something to BC. I can't program but i can donate/backup cool stuff adding to BC. ( i have donated about ~3k BC so far...) Only new stuff and features brings value of BC up not market manipulations those are illusion of getting high. Guys don't be fools and think twice about it don't complain on price so much. Except for AC : no premine and no IPO, and a different approach for interest rate POS (half of the total number of coin will be generated by POS). On the other hand they copied the multipool idea, which was a bright idea form bc. Of course they don't have the same talented dev as bc neither the same huge supportive community. But they are a little more than just a clone of BC (whereas the wc, comm and cie are just clone, indeed worse than a clone) |

Groestl is useless atm, cause Cuda Miner is 2-3x faster  no : 780ti : 11Mh/s (don't know if oc or not) R9 290 : 9Mh/s (gpu@1100) R9 290 9.9 Mh/s (gpu @1100) amd sph miner beaten but not so much |

The key feature of Groestlcoin is its good performance on a wide range of platforms and reduced ASIC advantages the algo contains. This is in part dure to the Grøstl algo's resistance to parallelization.
*cough* Groestl is a direct AES derivative, using the same S-box but a somewhat bigger state matrix. Perfectly suited for doing an FPGA or ASIC implementation. Note: We're currently achieving 7.8 MHash/s with an nVidia 750Ti card and 11 MHash/s with a 780Ti. Be afraid. nVidia is going to take the cake. Also: stock up on 750 Ti's Impressive. AMD is beaten until next optimization ... but not by far : my R9 290 : 9mh/s (gpu@1100, can oc more) my R9 290X : 9.9 mh/s (gpu@1100) |

Look like dev don't care about this coin any more I pm them and they answered they were doing majors change in the coding for the POS and they will communicate when finished... I tried to convince them to communicate ongoing .... but they didn't. I do not believe they don't care about this coin, but they don't care enough about this forum! |

Hey. How come Mintcoin is doing so well right now?
I am curious about that too. Bitcoin was falling like a stone yesterday but mint was actually rising at the same time. It looks like mint was a better bet than bitcoin yesterday and it's the last thing I expected. The reality is more complex (IMHO): - Short-term: Pump. Second, there was a pump on mintcoin, yesterday. Some people, at least on the French forum, believe it is still occuring. I made my best to inform them that this is not the case, that the current price is the normal price, but the only thing I can say is that for some people, the price is inflated => they are ready to dump. That's why it is very important to not rest on our laurels and continue to propagate mintcoins ideals and actions. Dump occurs when we rest on our laurels (I am not saying that not resting on our laurels will prevent a dump, but at least it will be much less damaging).
- Medium term: Cognitive biases. First, mintcoin thread, like any altcoin thread that I know of, heavily suffers from confirmation bias. As a rule of thumb, the less lines in a post, the less reliable it is - whatever it says. Also, excessive optimism is de rigueur and when something goes wrong, cognitive dissonance steps in ("yeah that's normal it is falling down, because this and that", said the one who said "to the moon" tow days ago). Better insight from posters would make the coin much less subject to "mood swing" (nxt is particularly good at avoiding this, probably because they are much less focused on price fluctuations)
- Long-term: Committed community and clear message. Third, and this is the most important: the community stood still in dire times, the dev is getting more and more merchants in and our message of sustainable development is getting more and more visible. The upcoming Mintcoin Fund will further fulfill this message. This whas will matter in the end.

The ship is not sinking : every altcoins go through high and low prices. The difference here : blackcoin community used to believe there will no low due to its POS nature. Indeed, I believe its POS nature will make the low not so low... before next high. |

I like the changes that were made to the wallet and to the coin itself (codewise).
Seems a nice move to reduce the number of coins from 30b to 7.5b.
All the work already done in Genesis, like the change to POS and the implementation of Dark Gravity Well, shows that there is a real Developer behind the coin, not just another "copy-paste dev"
Maybe people are not paying enough attention to this coin, but it have a lot of merit.

Multipool is giving me 56BC per day with 1.2mh. Not impressed tbh. I can get more than that from anything else and just buy BC manually. Why is the multipool payouts so low?
When I was using middlecoin as a btc multipool, there were huge variations with the payouts : it depends on so much things : the coin mined, the change rate, the moment you choose to change the coin, the strategy of the multipool : change small amounts continously, waiting for good opportunities. You can't juge a multipool on a day or two : you need a longer period of time. Cutting the 30 Billion coins to 7.5 Billion, effectively now makes the pre-mine 4% rather than 1%.
How much of the pre-mine is left in the coffers? Do you have a plan to mitigate this % increase in pre-mine?
I've been mining this for a while now, and I like the changes you've proposed, but this just stuck out to me.
Sorry about the premine, but we sent much bounty for pools, exchanges and for people who helped us to build up the forums, upgrade website, marketing. We don't keep all coin for us. There will still have many coin for bounty in the future. We hope that we thought about this specs from the beginning  what a crap excuses I don't think so : They probably spent most of the premine now. The move to a pos scheme can save the coin. I have a small amount and I bought some cheap today hoping for an increase. If the dev want to sell their premined coins, the price should be 0.00000001, and the coin will be death, like panda coin. Maybe, the dev want to change the current situation, so they redesign it, but the premined coins can not be changed, so I think, if we don't want the coin go to dead, we should support it.  I agree. My point was : they cannot change the premine now, since they have already spent a good portion of it in bounties and others. |

Trying it vs fugue pool stratum+tcp://fc.minepool.cc:10029 I always get "Share above target". Cpu miner works fine on same pool

Thanks. Contacted them .. lets wait I have used Nxt-e many times : theirs withdrawal/deposit are somewhat slower than poloniex. But they are OK. Sometime a btc transaction take time for confirmation (slowness from the blockchain). |

I must disagree with above block reward and block halving statement. You should not change anything. Everything works fine. If you change block reward to 2048 or 1024 90% of qubit holders will sell coins and go to another coin including me. I agree about wallet. Everything works fine currently we just need someone who will fix few thing,promote coin and just be active...there is no need for changing the code.
The present block reward do not incite miner to come : and good global hash rate is required for POW coin. The popularity of a coin require a widespread distribution. Going back to something like 512 /block could help. If you -the holders- were unwilling to accept some loss at first due to better block reward, I believe the coin would die ... and you would loose all at the end. |

Well just for reference, Vert came out of nowhere and did a huge rumble and pump and settled down for awhile, I think MYR has potential to do the same. Vertcoin has a huge increase when marketing toward merchants use (digipay.io provided by moolah : for using coins in amazon). I have suggested 8bit (the myr dev) to contact moolah and he said me he had sent them an email. For moolah, to add a coin require a good community support : if we prove them that we have a valuable strong community, I think they will add it! |

Here is the fun part:
I have3 R9 290 in 2 different rig that always loos 0.2 MHs after 10 minutes, no matter what overclocking I gave to them.
BUT: the cards looses their MHS at the exact same second...I tried several reboot and look at my screen during a few minutes: It's stable for a while, then after a few minutes, at the exact same seconds, my 2 cards loose 0.2Mhs.
the same for me on windows for one R9 290 (I have two of them) for groestl algo using sph miner (no problem in qubit algo). I need to reboot to recover the hash speed. |
