If I was to start a DVC valued mutual investment fund would I be entitled to any DVC bounties? If so how many DVC would the bounty be?

So 90% of the Pyramining payouts are reinvested in Pyramining? If so how much BTC does the fund have in the current Pyramining 28nm pre-order hold?

anyone ask refund neptune?
a more revealing question would be, has anyone NOT asked for a neptune refund...? I have 4 neptunes on order from the previous customer batch. At this point, they still look like a solid purchase. Each one was around 10BTC. I have no idea how the hell I am going to power them and hope that some hosting options open up. I'm sure I can get an electrician in and things will work out but at this point, I don't have a plan for that. www.redstarmining.com - may be offering US based hosting. Pre Funding
We would like to double clarify, this is a pre funding project. This product is NOT in stock, shipping is expected to take a minimum of 6 months. Where funds are used to fully design & manufacture your ordered devices. BFL 2.0Only a 30% deposit required and hopefully the BTC/LTC price will be much higher when the full payment is required.

You mean discounting the fact that Hashfast is less late than KnC is at the moment? KnC promised summer delivery and didn't ship until the middle of October.
KnC: Summer ended Sept 21, delivered mid Oct. Lets say 3 weeks late. HashFast: "Ships Oct 20-30", still hasn't delivered mid January. Lets say 3 months late and counting. "Hashfast is less late than KnC is." Wow. No wonder BFL is always late. You don't understand the difference between days, weeks, and months! He has financial interests in spreading FUD about KNC and using the HF scam as a shield to defend the scam he's involved in at BFL.

Industry UpdatesViper ASIC Update(Litecoin)Greetings Miners!
Progress by our engineering partners has been picking up fast and a quick update for the week’s end is as follows:
Engineering Update
* ASIC design has been more optimized and frozen. * ASIC Synthesis & Physical design is going on. Tape out target end of march. * Provision for MBIST and boundary scan for DFT has been done. * Architecture of Mining Board design has been finalized and design has been started. * Sitara ARM AM335x Processor from TI for Host Board has been finalized and design has been initiated. * Provision of power consumption & temperature on the LCD display has been incorporated. * Eliminated switch from the enclosure. All the input and set up will be done through web pages just like a router. ### Mechanical Update * Enclosure material will be of Aluminium. * Universal power supply has been identified for 5mh design. * 5Mh box will be 1u but much smaller in size ( easy for transportation, likely half of 19” rack). * Power figures as of now are looking good * 5Mh<=70 watts * 25Mh<=300 watts
KNC Neptune Update (Bitcoin)Neptunes are still very much in the preliminary design phase. As much as the timeline will be reduced significantly in comparison to a standard engineering project at 20nm, if such exists, because this is absolute bleeding edge we want to be absolutely sure what we commit to silicon will ensure a successful product at the end. This initial phase will not be rushed.
That said we have completely re-written and optimised the RTL code. The Jupiter project was very much focused upon safe speed to market and the window of opportunity hashing power presented in this present finite period prior to significant competition. The Neptune project whilst adhering to aspects of the aforementioned must focus upon power consumption as it's primary trait if customers (you guys) will be able to compete successfully over a longer period. We know that we are reaching limits on standard household circuits, we want you to remain competitive w.r.t. the unfolding mining landscape and we are all to well aware that electricity costs will come into focus in the not too distant future.
So where we are now is that we have a working FPGA code and are in the process of testing that and tweaking any further refinements before it's submission.
With respect to the speculation above we sold out of Neptune's last night.
Viper ASIC Timeline ReleasedOn Monday (13/01/2014) we released an outline of our set roadmap, today as promised we will be releasing a timeline with dates on each aspect of the development process. This shows our commitment to transparency and gives a better idea on what exact stage we are on at all times. As we go through multiple developmental stages in parallel, we will be releasing regular detailed updates on our progress. Our next updates will be consistent developmental updates on what is being worked on and what has been achieved.
Timeline:
Project Start: 16/08/13 Project Finish: 15/07/14

With respect to Neptune we are where we intended to be at this stage and are still contemplating aspects of the design. Understand that the approach is not the same as that of Jupiter. 28nm was extremely disruptive at the time, of which the effect can plainly be seen. Hashrate was given priority to power consumption, and safety and speed to market even more so, but going forward and acknowledging that power consumption becomes more a critical factor the Neptune has to be created as more a long term solution. We will not skimp or rush the design here. This does not mean I'm indirectly verbalising a delay, so don't go looking for hidden meanings, there aren't any to find, just rest assured I'm stressing we value the integrity of the design more which is why Q1/Q2 was given to ensure that margin is present so we commit the best foot going forward in what is uncharted waters within bleeding edge silicon. We're not rushing the design at the cost of it's ability to function, and function well. The sha-256 implementation is actually relatively simple, but there is still quite a bit we can optimise to remain competitive for you and us.

So a commercial bitcoin farm will like a mutual fund comprised of any number of assets. The addition or removal of miners from the farm will be like the mutual fund dropping or adding assets. In the case of mutual funds if the fund has to pay kickbacks to a major brokerage house (Edward Jones) in order to be listed among the offerings shown/sold to "Preferred" clients and in retribution the fund (The Hartford Fund) removes valuable assets from the fund, the Security Exchange Commission has demonstrated its ability to step in and require a compensation be paid to the ripped off Preferred clients holding the fund. Bitcoin has no SEC.
There's no need to do three posts in a row consecutively and rapidly IMHO. Have you never seen the edit button ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

Will you offer credit card and PayPal payment methods ? Will you offer monthly payment rather than upfront payment ? If you will be asking for preorders, what reassurances can you tell us about your credentials in this area. Obviously preorders are forever tarnished in the bitcoin community such as BFL, HF, VMC, possibly cointerra and numerous btc payment only startups for laser etched cold wallets/stickers/online wallets/junk coins that turned out to be scams.
We'll only accept BTC/LTC as we're a BTC/LTC based mining company setting this up. We'd probably ask for a deposit to cover the initial setting up and rent needed to be paid in advance. Then you could pay the full amount when your miners start hashing. We'd have rent, building work and network fees to pay upfront. Also - www.redstarmining.com - the parent company setting this up is entering its third year of operation. While we'd be using this data-centre to host our own ASIC's too.

Can ports be soldered into the November batch Jupiter's to be able to add upgrade boards?
|
|
|
I fail to see the positive on this one. It'll cost a couple hundred dollars to ship something of this size to the US (by a reputable means), and then there is the uncertainty of the custom/tax charges importing to the US. Then finally and possibly more importantly I'll have a several thousand dollar investment sitting several thousand miles away, with no easy access to it, or to retrieve it. I guess it may be suitable for some, I just can't figure out who :-) There's no import VAT in the states while EU miner's will have to pay >20%VAT. Which is $2K at least on top of every $10K.

wouldn't really want it shipped home. would you sell it for me on ebay?
Yes we could do that for an extra fee. Or you could sell it yourself and we'd ship it to the buyer.
|
|
|
We think the cost we'll be able to charge is anywhere from $0.18 per kWh to $0.21 per kWh depending on how many we end up hosting. We'd like to offer a 0% fee P2Pool node (to help network decentralisation) with cash back bonus for using the pool based on your hash rate. The cash back bonus wouldn't stand for any scypt ASIC's hosted. I know some of you will have similar power rates at home but we're helping to you avoid the VAT costs. Which should help pay for the power. It'll be based on six month contracts where afterwards you can have your miners shipped home at reduced value VAT. We may offer a pre-order scheme to help us build the datacentre.

Has the latest batch of Neptunes sold out yet?
Go to the Knc website, enter 1000 miners in your cart, and it will tell you how many are left (228 right now). Neptune sales have definitely slowed down, and unless Knc releases some really good Neptune development news or the price of BTC goes up significantly, I doubt they will sell many more for a while. 10k is a lot to pay to be at the end of the Neptune line. Thanks for that ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I'm pretty sure KNC are still waiting for CT and/or HF to start shipping en masse before dropping any Neptune news. Although a road map map plus weekly or bi-monthly announcements would have been good. OT I'm pretty sure HF and maybe CT too are self mining currently. All ASIC company's mine for themselves. They just use customer money to bootstrap their outfits. The current difficulty growth could be in part not only be HF and CT self mining but also a massive batch of Jupiter's being 'burned-in'.

What other reason to say "several" when he kowns exactly it is 1.5 unit ? Or 3? Or 10? I hate to defend HF and related, but "several" is a good datapoint if you ask me. It's several. It's not 3, it's not 100, it's several. Sure. But if several is 5, then why not say "5"? Classical deception, usually meaning "several" is at the bottom (or the top, but bottom is most likely, here) of whatever figures it includes. Anyway, I'll shut up for now, good luck with the refunds. Remember Batch 2-4 investors should work right away on their refunds. It might be too late soon. I'm sorry but maybe english is not your first language but several is plural for seven units. Maybe why I was in bottom class for english - http://www.thefreedictionary.com/several

Looks like Cointerra isn't far from shipping the world's next "most powerful BTC miner". Lots of folks in this thread said they'd never even have a chip in January. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) KNC will ship new Jupiters soon I'm sure ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) At what price? $2995 or $3495 I'm guessing one of those. Surely less than $4K I came so close to ordering from cointerra it's a bit of a regret They may also offer a first batch to previous customers only who have had or have money down on pre-orders. As part of their network protection scheme.
