421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you like best about bitcoin? on: September 03, 2017, 06:36:18 AM

What do you like best about bitcoin?
Decentralization, transparency or easier to move?
Or just it makes you look cool? Wink
What I love about bitcoin is its volatility and transparency. Bitcoin value is so volatile and it can give good and bad effects to everyone. Transparency makes it easier for bitcoin traders to predict the value of the bitcoin and can make their moves beforehand. Whatever is your reason, there's no reason for me to hate bitcoin (at this moment). Smiley
422  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are bitcoins only for the educated and knowledgeable people only? on: September 03, 2017, 01:09:57 AM
For me, it isn't. We have different talent and knowledge on how we give and do stuff that we love. Bitcoins are for everyone and we have the chance to try or even have this to earn and save money for our future.

How about you guys? Is it only for the educated and knowledgeable people only?
That depends. If the educated and knowledgeable people you are referring to are those who took up high degrees in college, then I think it isn't. But if we talk about people who are knowledgeable in bitcoins, then it is. Bitcoins can be learned by your own. You won't earn from bitcoins if you have no knowledge about it.
423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you keep buying? on: September 02, 2017, 06:39:00 AM
Bitcoin price keeps increasing. Price is x10 considering last year. Even 25k-50k-100k is predicted.

Are you adding more bitcoin by buying with cash? or you trade or invest in ICOs & altcoins in order to increase the amount you have?

or do you just hold what you have?
As of now, I am not buying bitcoins (and I won't recommend you to buy btc). The value of btc today is too high, and you'll need a lot of money to make 1 btc. What I'm doing is earning btc through online games, signature campaign, and other ways to earn other altcoins, then convert the to btc ready to be transferred to wallet.
424  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin soon 5000$ !!! on: September 02, 2017, 03:02:12 AM
Bitcoin now is almost worth 5000$. Will it continue to increase ? Will it ever reach a high value like 10.000$ ?
Please share your opinions about this.
I'll eat my words last time. I've never thought that BTC will reach $5,000 by the end of this year. But as of now, it seems that BTC (along with other altcoins) value is non-stop on rising up. If this increase in its value will continue, there's no doubt it will reach the $10,000 point by next year. It will be a great news for most (esp. those who are holding their BTCs in their wallets).
425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin really secure? on: September 01, 2017, 11:26:16 AM
Hello pals,
Recently I introduced Bitcoin and cryptocurrency to my friends and family, they liked the concept but they asked me a question that I wasn't able to answer. Is Bitcoin really secure? What if a hacker was able to hack Bitcoin system/blockchain?Who manages Bitcoin security and what are the security measures taken to avoid hackers being able to steal Bitcoins? Why Bitcoin is not blocked for those who use it illegally by buying/selling in the deepweb market? What if governements ban Bitcoin because of these people?
I really appreciate if you  guys give me some answers
The question should be: Is your bitcoin wallet secure? When we talk about BITCOIN, there should be no doubt about it because many agencies had already accepted bitcoin legally (banks, departments, shops, etc). What you should be aware of is your bitcoin wallet (where you save your bitcoins for future purposes). Bitcoin wallets are what will most likely put your bitcoins into danger. When your btc wallet is not secured, there will be a tendency that someone will compromise it and get all your coins.
426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will banks start a war against bitcoin on: September 01, 2017, 08:24:04 AM
I know we are still at a start of cryptocurrencies, but bitcoin is growing with lightning speed right now and some banks already see it as a potential threat.
There has been a lot of accusations form banks, that bitcoin is perfect for money laundering and is used for supporting crime.
I think they can do a lot of harm to bitcoin market and they will eventually start with harsh campaign against it.
Do you think it will happen and when?
I don't think that banks will start a war against bitcoins. In our country, bitcoins is even supported by the national bank. Bitcoin and the national bank of our country support each other. Bank will even get benefits from the bitcoions, and vice versa. Unless a third party will create a conflict between banks and the bitcoin, there will be no problem at all.
427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If no one spends bitcoin what might happen? on: September 01, 2017, 07:23:04 AM
Share your ideas here.   Grin

In my opinion, I think we will be stuck in one price or maybe worse we will all go down.

Here is what happened when US citizens are saving too much.

Quote
That's important because American spenders make up the majority -- about 70% -- of economic activity in the country. If people don't spend, the economy doesn't grow.

Check it out here

I agree. The most possible thing that will happen if that's the case is that the price of btc won't change. The worse thing is that its value will fluctuate and might see itself disappears from the network. Well, in real world, people not using btc is very far from reality. Most people today are inclined to the use of btc in their daily transactions.
428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto identified by NSA,? on: September 01, 2017, 01:33:21 AM
No. Satoshi Nakamoto is ANONYMOUS, which means that no one really knows the real identity of the one behind the bitcoins creation. We don't even know if Satoshi Nakamoto is a single person or group of people (we can't deny this speculation because it's not easy for one person only to create this kind of crpyto innovation). Satoshi Nakamoto might not want to reveal his/her/their real identity for their safety and security.
429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your plans with your Bitcoin? on: August 31, 2017, 06:49:44 AM
Hi guys Smiley May I know what are your plans on your Bitcoin in the future? Do you plan to keep on investing on Bitcoin related businesses or do plan to convert it into fiat and ventures on new business?

I'm planning to invest more on Bitcoin related companies and convert some of my Bitcoin into fiat and invest it on our local stock market. How about you?
Actually, I don't have a bitcoin. I only have satoshis (small portion of bitcoin). But if ever I will have 1 BTC, I would use a portion of it in building a small business and the rest will be for setting up my own btc mining rig. This, I think, is the best to do with the bitcoin that someone is holding - to make something for the future.
430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think digital currency will ever replace paper money? on: August 31, 2017, 02:01:11 AM
Personally I say yes as our society becomes increasingly dependent upon technology, digital currency will become a more popular means of paying for different things and it is more effective and instant. I haven't used much physical money in the past 8 years and I rarely had any problems with that.

What do you guys think? Wink
Yes, I think. With the advancement of this era, it's not impossible that crptocurrencies will replace paper money and physical coins. Most people are now inclined to the use of computers, smartphones, and other gadgets. There will be nothing to get shocked of when cryptocurrencies will be replacing paper money and coins.
431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DARK WEB/DEEP WEB USE A BITCOIN FOR ANY MATTER on: August 30, 2017, 02:55:31 AM
The dark web is the World Wide Web content that exists on darknets, overlay networks which use the Internet but require specific software, configurations or authorization to access. The dark web forms a small part of the deep web, the part of the Web not indexed by search engines, although sometimes the term "deep web" is mistakenly used to refer specifically to the dark web.

Every affair in the dark web will use Bitcoin as a method of payment. In the dark web there are various illegal businesses such as the sale of illegal firearms, drug trafficking, assassins and hackers.

What are your thoughts on this Bitcoin abuse?
Well, according to the articles about dark web that I've read on internet, bitcoin is used as a mode of payment for illegal transactions. We can't argue on that one because bitcoin is a cryptocurrency and people who transact in dark web will have no hussle in buying the things they are looking for. However, my point is that as long as you use bitcoin in good ways (buying stuffs, paying bills, etc), there's nothing to worry about.
432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you could ask 1 Question to Satoshi Nakamoto what would you ask? on: August 28, 2017, 01:09:52 AM
You can only ask 1 Question to Satoshi Nakamoto what would you ask him, her or they? and why?
I would ask him/her/them (we're not sure if Satoshi Nakamoto is a male or female since that's an anonymous person or group) if what was his/her/their reason/s on creating the bitcoin, and if it was made unintentionally (like Facebook which is just a project) or they intend to compete with the actual currencies in the world.
433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you guys withdraw your bitcoins to cash? on: August 27, 2017, 05:51:15 AM
I know that for some of you, you can withdraw it directly to your bank account using wallets like coinbase but this feature is not available for many countries.
Since its not available in my country too I always withdraw my bitcoins from my address to payza then from payza to payoneer (by using exchangers).

How do you guys withdraw your btc?
That depends on the place/region/country where someone is using btc. Some countries accept encashment of BTC through remittance centers (which I use when withdrawing btc into cash). The official android application of our btc wallet also offers different ways of encashments like GCASH, remittance pick-up, and bank.
434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens when we hit 21,000,000 bitcoins? on: August 26, 2017, 09:55:58 AM
This morning I was talking about this with a buddy of mine.

Right now we have miners all over the world trying to solve this exponentially hard algorithm to earn their bitcoins. That is their incentive and that is what drives them to do so.

What happens when we remove that incentive to "mine" aka "verify transactions" on the blockchain? What I'm basically asking is what happens when we hit 21,000,000 bitcoins from the perspective of the miners?
Well, there are only two scenario when that happens. First, btc miners will stop working. Second, these btc miners might shift to different (and probably newly introduced) cryptocurrencies . But again, I think this will not be coming sooner for the algo of btc is not that easy to solve and 21m is a lot of btc, if you get my point, tho. However, miners CAN still stay on working with bitcoins BUT only earn from transaction fees.
435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you save bitcoin for fun or for future purpose? on: August 26, 2017, 07:04:03 AM
I have think of it and i have save up bitcoin just a the small amount because i have plans for it to have fun like travelling didn't even save it for future purpose. so i wanted to know what are you going to do with your bitcoin if you save bitcoin. Why do you save bitcoin for? and why? what is the purpose why you save up bitcoin to your wallet and not to spend it.
I save bitcoin (actually, satoshis only because I haven't had a bitcoin in my life Cheesy ) for future purpose. I know that earning satoshis is not really hard if you are familiar with the ways on how to earn it and if you are patient enough to do such "boring" work. This is why it is a great idea to save your satoshis and use it later on for important things for the future (considering that the value of btc in the future is expected to be higher than its value today).
436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can bitcoin wallet be hacked by hackers? on: August 26, 2017, 01:26:09 AM
can they hack into our wallet. There are many professional hackers out there. What are the chances? Also what is the safest way to safeguard ourself?
Yes, they can, if the security of your wallet is weak. There are actually different ways of hacking. First and the simplest way is by phishing where they can get you personal info for your wallet (username, gmail, and password). They will have no trouble hacking your account with this one. The other ways (which are more complex) is done when your account/wallet has no 2FA. I recommend you to use 2FA if you want a more secured account.
437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happen to bitcoin fees continues increased.? on: August 25, 2017, 09:08:31 AM
Hi guys just want to ask why the bitcoin fees are increasing i just notice the fees here https://bitcoinfees.21.co/
where 450sat/byte I thought this issue is already been solve what happen to bitcoin Or we should need to go switch to bitcoin cash instead?
But the problem switching to bitcoin cash still not worth it  because there are still no merchant are accepting bitcoin cash here in my country.. unlike bitcoin..
Bitcoin fees are actually still fair for all (considering that the value of btc now is high). High transaction fee means faster processing of transactions (put yourself on the miners and you'll realize). Miners will prioritize those who are paying higher fees than those paying lower fees. And fees are, I think, fix in terms of BTC (not in USD).
438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are holding Bitcoin? on: August 25, 2017, 03:22:07 AM
What makes people compel to hold the bitcoin in this critical situation? What are they waiting for? Any good reason?
Bitcoin has already gone through a lot of situations where people are doubting about its value. But in the end, it was able to surpass those situation and still manage to increase its value in the past years. Putting that into perspective, if you sell all your bitcoins today, then there's a high possibility that you'll lose all the possible profit that you may get when the btc value in the future rise up. It's just all about timing.
439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin ending up like Yahoo in the future? on: August 25, 2017, 12:14:46 AM
Yahoo was the first (?) search engine at the time when Internet started.  It was the pioneer in its field.  In the late 90's its market cap reached to a high closed to $120B.   Three and a half years after Yahoo started, Google came out and gradually took away market share from Yahoo.

After 22 years, Verizon bought it for $4.8B.  Would Bitcoin ending up like Yahoo in the future and got beat up by new competitions?

What do you think?  Please provide your reason(s) to support your view.
No, I don't think that will be the case for bitcoin. My only reason? Bitcoin (network?) is not owned by a single or group of people (I mean, no one is actually controlling the bitcoin itself). It can be used by everyone, and its value depends on the level of its demand. Well, if you are going to ask if other cryptocurrencies will beat it, my answer is still NO. Bitcoin is the father of all cryptocurrencies, and it won't disappear even if other cryptocurrencies will be gone.
440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you keep your bitcoins? on: August 24, 2017, 08:35:18 AM
I have all my coins in on an online trading site (paxful) (low volume)

I plan on making a large investment very soon, and want to safely store all of my coins
I.E I basically want to drop a couple thousand, and keep them in the safest possible way, where I can revisit them in 5-10 years or so and reap the benefits, or cry about the loss.

What is the best way to do this, and what's the best way of ensuring a backup?

How do you currently store your coins

thanks in advance for any inputs

There are a lot of available bitcoin wallets out there, be it for local (like coins.ph which I am using) and for general (like blockchain and xapo wallet). If you want to secure your bitcoins, create your wallet to any of those, and don't forget to create a 2FA for your wallet. Whenever I earn satoshis from game sites and other source of earning, I immediately withdraw it and put it to my wallet, then I encash it through remittance centers for more assured transaction.
