4202  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Always Use 2Fa For Your Exchange Accounts on: August 04, 2019, 01:27:02 PM
It is true that using 2FA is provide extra security, but as other say it is not something that is 100% safe. In some cases of hacking user 2FA is just bypassed, and then user ask how something like that is possible. Hackers always work on cracking such security services because they know most users think that 2FA is some kind of ultimate protection.
I do think that 2FA is good, and play key roles to protect exchange's user accounts, beside security of users' devices. However, only 2FA of exchange account is not enough.
I do think that crypto investors/ traders should do two-hierarchial 2FA protections:
- One for their exchange account.
- One for their email that used to register account on exchange.
It is very important to do this step:
- Don't log in exchange account and emails on same devices.
Example:
If you have an email that always log in on your phones/ tablets, whatever, you should not log in your exchange account on that device.
Hackers can hack one of your devices, but it is too rare to hack all of your devices.
Personally, I never log in my emails / exchange accounts on mobile devices, just for security, and just in case.
(Hackers can hack my mobile devices, when my kids play on my phones, and unintentionally do stupid things, but they will get nothing, because I don't store any private details on my phones).

4205  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting into the cryptoworld without investing anything on: August 04, 2019, 07:35:02 AM
You forgot bounty campaigns, those can also be solid way to earn some crypto, especially if you are willing invest some time in it, like making YT videos or writing articles, but even something simple like twitter and facebook campaign could yield you some tokens. It is risky though, as you never know if those token will be worth anything, but its still solid start.
Some to-do things to join crypto world:
- Read and learn about bitcoin (creator, history, units, block rewards, block halving time, wallets, explorer, transaction fees.)
- Read and learn what are: scam projects, scammers; and how to detect them.
- Read and learn what are forked/ cloned / scammed coins from Bitcoin (history of their forks, and their price movements so far, high or low, or death)
- Read and learn about other things (altcoins, tokens); starting with top, famous, and long history; starting from coinmarketcap.com.
Jumping directly into bounties neither help you get rich nor building your fortune in crypto.

Form your stories, I thought you all already been rich, because you invested in Bitcoin so early, before 2015. Everyone has different chances, but taking chances or not, it will make different destinations. I just knew about Bitcoin recent months. I heard about Bitcoin when it hits it's ATH nearly $20,000, but hesitated to start to invest when Bitcoin dumped to below $3200. Now, I thought I eventually bravely enough to enter at price $9500 days ago. Hope that it will help me to exponentially increase my balance next 6 years.
4208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What You Should Know Before Playing A Crypto Betting Game on: August 01, 2019, 02:03:52 PM
That's why it is better to investigate first on the gambling sites first especially the new ones before diving in, yeah there should be a code open source on Github but that alone isn't making them probably fair and there are still possibilities that they might turn to be the filthy one. I'd probably gamble to the most trusted one and have lots of reviews by the community and that's way safer.
It is too complicated, too technical and likely exceeds ability of normal, inexperienced people. I think the easiest ways to join only old, famous gambling sites. If someone want to move further, and get fresh experience from new sites, they should choose sites that promoted by famous managers. If a new sites with few months old, that have signature campaigns managed by well known managers, and run well for a few months, I think they are good, young sites. It is more simple to do.
4209  Other / Meta / Re: Reporter Statistics on: July 31, 2019, 06:46:57 AM
If those figures are for the past year (2018), total reports of top reporters likely significantly higher at the moment, because with spam waves from Your; ban wave from plagiabot; I do believe reporters do make more reports recent months.

What the fuck do you know?  You are engaging in the kind of behavior to justify such language usage from me.  In total, I am likely being too nice to you by even giving you several opportunities to redeem yourself from your current nonsensical status..
JJG, you are so patient to keep long-lasting 'discussion' with that guy, whom might be drowned with your wordy-flood soon.
Personally, if someone don't have open-minded, so we should simply give them maintaining their mindset. No need for wasteful and endless discussion, IMO.
4212  Other / Meta / Re: Reporter Statistics on: July 30, 2019, 11:32:58 AM
For now we have an idea of how many users have 5000+ reports from these very vague stats:
BTW, currently 195 users would have some icon, and only 9 users would have the highest-tier one.

So, at the time of that post only 9 users had more than 5000 reports which is a slight increase from the last detailed statistics theymos posted. I imagine the very top have more than 20k reports now.
Is it time to come back to the reporter badges competition?
With yesterday massive spam from Yobit-related spam bots (
Spamming service massively. Please nuke!), I think it is good time to make this thread lively back to discussion. Will we have reporter badges?
If yes, which ones should be selected?

I'm just using the Patrol link coupled with suchmoon's reporting script to report them all in real time. Hopefully the mods can be just as quick with nuking them all.

Edit: They are averaging about 15 posts per minute by the looks of things.
It seems that they don't have too many accounts to spam, or still don't use all accounts they have. I saw some spam accounts posted their 5 or 6 spam posts. I think they will be reported and wiped out soon, with current limited spam accounts.

I saw so many brandnew accounts pumping their service, in multiple threads. I don't know this massive spamming relates to Yobit or not. But their message contains Yobit. Any coincidence here? Roll Eyes
They are everywhere (hundreds or thousands), with same account name style.
Please check and nuke them all!

It is nice to see that thing has already started, and it would be nice that you share some info about your progress in work with students. For me it would be very important to teach students about technology which stands behind Bitcoin, and its practical application in today's society. Most people are today intrigued with bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general just because of possible profit.
That is what we call technical evolution in human society. Back to around more than 20 years ago, using computers and Internet was something unpopular, at least in my nation, and it was likely that only young generations, and middle-ages guys (most are bussinessmen or lecturers) have access to computers and Internet. Progresses were slowly, but since 2004-2005, things changed fastly and dramatically, the brought Internet to most of households, not only in my nation, my local, but also in others nations and other locals too.
I believe that what might happen with blockchain technology and crypto. It will become more popular and more easily to access for people globally in coming years.

I don't think one person will use too many exchanges, so it is possible to manage with one exchange, one email to register, and different password for each account.

Emails are kind of identities, so I don't think we should not display our emails' addresses publicly, that is so risky. If you don't want to disclose your important things, please don't disclose your emails, or store them on Cloud-based storage service.

In some national, like Canada, and Australia, children have been taught about crypto in their early years in their lives. For kids, they are taught to read, B is for Bitcoin, E is for Ethereum, etc; for older children, they are taught and given exercises on blockchain, and they have to manage their own blockchians for their schools, something like this. I read such articles back in 2017 or 2018.
