4221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHEN THE LAST COIN HAS BEEN MINED. on: October 29, 2019, 05:03:07 AM
Hello all, i have always wondered about what happens after the last coin of a COIN has been mined, does that mean that people would not be able to buy it again? if not, if someone i to come to the market to purchase a coin and he/she sees that a coin limit has already been exhausted through the history given on coinmarketcap, would that not make the buyer withdraw from taking step further based on the mentality that the limit has been exhausted?

It is estimated that by the year 2140, all the remaining bitcoins will be mined out and its overall supply of 21 million will be spread throughout the world on each individual. When this time comes, expect miners to profit from the transaction fees as bitcoin prices will be significantly high. This is also the reason on why most are expecting its price to pump and HODLing most of their coins at the moment.

4222  Economy / Economics / Re: What makes a Fiat worthless? on: October 28, 2019, 03:14:18 PM
We have come across so many national currency becoming worthless and recently we have heard the news of barter system in Zimbabwe due to the fall in the value of national currency but what really makes the Fiat worthless? Is it corruption or war or national economical crisis? Or the National GDP which makes it fall?

The only way that money can be deemed worthless if its value reaches hyperinflation- wherein it losses its value on the market but its FACE VALUE is tremendously high.
Like what you have mentioned, Zimbabwe has a fiat note called 100-trillion-dollars and it is only worth $40 USD. Excessive printing of money can cause hyperinflation where the supply is high but the demand for goods is significantly low.

4224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's worse: cigar addiction or gambling addiction on: October 28, 2019, 10:02:03 AM
Hmm this is actually a difficult question on to which is worse since both have detrimental effects. Maybe we should try to decide based on the timeline?

Short-term: Gambling
Long-term Smoking Cigar

The problem with gambling is that you quickly realize its effects and impacts to your life once you succumb to addiction. You tend to sacrifice your time and resources to bet instead of doing something recreational or helpful. This quickly cascades into a bigger issue if you have a family to support and obligations to meet every week.

With cigar addiction, you will only realize its harmful effects to your body at a certain time and age. People do not quickly get cancer by just smoking a few sticks of cigar but it is a collective action and continuous use that will eventually lead to that.
4225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your favorite way to receive money as a gift? Cash or digital.. on: October 28, 2019, 04:14:52 AM
I personally prefer receiving cash as a gift despite being digital currency dominating the market currently.

The usage for fiat is far wider and has a variety of options to choose from. If I ever feel of needing digital cash, I can always have the option to convert it and purchase bitcoins. The only downside is, I am more inclined to spending than saving my money.

For digitalized currency, bitcoin has been popular as a  means of investment due to its high volatility. Others prefer receiving this as a gift (since its really valuable!) but it solely depends on the individual depending on his/her current needs.
4226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop Worrying about the Bitcoin Price on: October 28, 2019, 01:20:02 AM
I see no problem with people worrying about the price of bitcoin especially when you consider the amount of time, resources, and money they invested and risked just to earn income afterwards.

Although the price of bitcoin is determined by multiple factors affecting the market (i.e. whales, political agendas, prohibitions, etc.), one can never be certain and can accurately predict the price of bitcoin would be. Just to give you a concrete example, the price of bitcoin last week fell to around $7,800 and because of the announcement of China about their support in the blockchain technology, its price skyrocketed to $9,700.

Again, it is normal for someone to be worried on their investments given that investing into cryptocurrency is a high-risk investment.
4227  Local / Pilipinas / Re: China ang dahilan ng pag-angat! BITCOIN! on: October 27, 2019, 08:22:31 PM
Well nakakatuwa lang isipin na dahil sa isang announcement ng China, napakalaki ng epekto at impact nito sa presyo ng bitcoin.

Last 5-7 days ago, ang price ng kada bitcoin bumababa hanggang P370,000 tapos biglang umangat ito in just a matter of one day to P480,000.

Better purchase and invest now while may opportunity pa kase nakikita ko talaga na tataas ang presyo nito in the upcoming days.
4228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the discipline help in gambling? on: October 27, 2019, 04:37:03 PM
DISCIPLINE does not only help you in gambling but it limits an individual to the extent of his/her winnings or losings.

The problem with gambling revolves from its nature being tied to risk. The vicious cycle starts when an individual gambles and regardless of the result, he/she will always be compelled to gamble again to WIN (if he won) or to recover his losses (if he lost). Without self-control and discipline, an individual is likely to succumb and fell into a financial complications in the long-run.

4229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Real Reason Why Bitcoin Price Shot Up Today on: October 27, 2019, 04:02:02 PM
The real reason why bitcoin price shot up today may have nothing to do with China's president announcement that they may reserve the blockchain and crypto exchange ban. Read this article about the real reason and let me know what you think.

https://www.cryptozink.io/real-reason-why-bitcoin-price-shot-up-today-china-crypto-news/

It fascinates me that one single announcement can significantly affect and impact the price of bitcoin in the market. This goes to show on how political agendas and decisions can affect its price and utilization on the market. Along with the news about China, countries who know that has an impact on bitcoin can indirectly manipulate the price.

I don't think that there should be always good or bad news to affect the price of Bitcoin. So, I think this is just a normal behaviour of Bitcoin. We have seen so many rise-and-fall scenarios before. In my opinion, this is like that too.

You have to consider that there is a wide consideration that needs to be understood in affecting the price of bitcoin, and political decisions/agenda are one of them. Treat every rise on its price as an opportunity to invest more for either short/long-term investment.
4230  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best / Worst experience in crypto on: October 27, 2019, 03:11:21 PM
Best Experience - I bought and purchased bitcoin back in 2017 when its price were sitting around $4,000-$4,500 per coin and HODL it for like a year. When its price reached an all time high of $17,000, I quickly withdrew my remaining coins (earned from signature campaigns) and earned a significant amount of profits that year alone.

Worst Experience - My friend introduced to me USI-Tech and bought there packages using some of my bitcoins (year 2017) since they claimed that the guarantee of profits will start after 6 months. I even attended their conference here in Manila and met one of the creators of the exchange platform. After 3 months, they changed the layout of their website and my packages were gone.
4231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ALL Initial Coin Offerings are Trash on: October 27, 2019, 12:45:55 PM
The problem with most ICOs stem from the accessibility of people creating fake ICOs and scamming people in the forum. I personally have spotted and busted a number of fake ICOs with their fake credentials and plagiarized whitepapers in the ANN section and it saddens me that some of the potentially good projects are overshadowed by this very fact.

4232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop Inflation With Crypto? How? on: October 27, 2019, 03:06:51 AM
In the contrary about the idea of inflation, in fact, it actually brings positive value to the economy overtime CONSIDERING it stays on a controlled-level in which the government aims to follow.

Inflation is all about the overall increase price of goods/services in the market. Think of it as when prices increase, the purchasing power drops making the demand of items low and the supply high- which then makes the prices lower. Inflation can bring positive effects in the economy especially that it makes money circulate. The negative impact of inflation brings about when the 'controlled-level' is not followed and it reaches skyrocket high resulting to hyperinflation which what happened to Venezuela.
4233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crowded Casinos - Play or not? on: October 26, 2019, 02:30:00 PM
You bring an important point, when a casino is mostly empty the risk of being subject to theft is very low since people have a tendency to keep a very large distance between each other, but when the casino is crowded this is not an option, you are going to have people very close to you and when that happens then you need to take care of your chips because if you get distracted you could easily lose some of them without realizing it.

Casino are not crowded always. You may find more gamblers in casino during the weekends or most probably during Christmas and New Year, when everyone is in a party mood and they rush to the casino and other entertainment places. If you are too worried about the crowded places, you can avoid going to casino at those times of the year.
I am not really worried about crowded casinos but we must admit the possibility that you may lose some of your money to thieves in a crowded casino is higher than when it is empty, in fact despite those risks I like a crowded casino since you can feel the energy of the people and you could always find someone to have a nice conversation, it always surprises me the diverse backgrounds of those that gamble, there are many successful professionals that do it to get rid of some of their stress while others are professional gamblers and others are naive enough to think they can earn money in gambling with their luck.

Well the more people are inside the casino establishment, the higher the chances of at least one being a thief lurking while someone is to busy on his/her winnings.

Generally, whenever I see a casino that is filled with people, it gives me this satisfaction and joy as I may be able to communicate and share my frustrations with someone while I gamble. Although they may be strangers, it is sometimes nice to deviate from the act and just converse with some people and just have fun!

Many people dislike gambling in a crowded casino but personally, I find it more enjoyable and lively as compared to a casino where only a few are inside.
4234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin can not become a global currency on: October 26, 2019, 01:34:11 PM
There are several factors to consider before thinking the possibility of cryptocurrencies becoming the new global currency in the market.

First, bitcoin (to be specific) cannot be considered as a global currency due to its acceptance among the countries. Others prohibit the utilization of such while some accept it on their transactions.
Second, having a currency that contains a limited supply is subject to inflation in the future. People who own majority of its supply has the potential to manipulate or control the market; and
Third, the application of a digitalized currency cannot be implemented in countries who are living on the underdeveloped state. Their priority revolves around strengthening their economic and political state before considering this kind of change.
4235  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are You Concerned On Sudden Rise of Bitcoin? on: October 26, 2019, 01:02:33 PM

Bitcoin just made a sudden or abrupt rise hours ago and it reached more than $10,000 before settling at around $9000 as of the moment. Now, I am actually so excited and happy for this development as I also have some Bitcoin hidden somewhere. However, i am a little worried that this very volatile move can be bringing some damage to its overall reputation as a store of value and a future global currency.

Is my concern really valid in the face of this ongoing development?

Every rise in the price of bitcoin can be viewed as either positive or negative depending on your perspective but most of the time, you should treat it as an opportunity in your short-term investments.

Two days ago, the price of bitcoin fell to around $7,500 and its price skyrocketed today up to $9,300. If you purchased bitcoins last week, you may be able to garner a realization of income through short-term investments.
The only problem that I see when price starts to increase are the transaction fees. As prices increases, so as the fees provided in our respective exchanges.

4237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to restrain yourself at a small loss and not spend money. on: October 25, 2019, 02:08:04 AM
It often happens that people go out to play a variety of games of chance with a certain amount of money, but in the end they spend everything if they are gone. How to prevent which technique you base yourself on to spend no further. It's hard to just give up, people persistent in gambling that day, so they can't just tell themselves they'll try tomorrow. Why is this difficult? Is it because of greed?

Everything stems from greed and our emotional attachment when it comes to money.

In gambling, the vicious cycle starts when you continuously gamble with the mindset of earning money, which would eventually cascade into losses especially if you lack the self-determination and will to stop. What makes things worse, in times of losses, you have this feeling of wanting to recover your losses but only to result into further losses.

Now the key here is to plan ahead and limit yourself when it comes to betting. I know this may be easier said than done but that is the only way in order to prevent incurring losses continuously.

it's because i can't stay in front of my pc all day, why waiting 1 hour between post? no sense for me

Quote
tell me what's the point of waiting so much between a post when you have a limit of 10 post per day? you see the nosense here, burstposting should no be a valid reason for bunning someone

It does not matter what you think, what matters is that you abide and follow the rules. The principle of dura lex sed lex - the law may be harsh but it is the law.

Regardless of what your opinion is or what you think is right, you are obligated to follow what everything is stated. Failure to comply with the said rules and complain about it afterwards renders anything you say invalid.

4239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Statement against people who say Bitcoin is a Scam on: October 23, 2019, 10:28:39 PM
<snip...>
what do you think about finding people like that and how will you react to them?

All of us have our respective opinions based on one's experiences but these opinions need to be substantiated and covered with definite proof especially if the opinion consists of allegations against the said complaint.
For instance, there are some that complain that bitcoin is a scam DUE to some incurring loss in the process, while others say that bitcoin blessed them with the opportunity of earning significant amounts of money.

It all depends on how we view bitcoin as everyone is entitled to have their opinion or view on a certain matter/thing. But this escalates quickly especially if someone made an accusation against something/someone without backing enough proof.
4240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's acceptance in the World on: October 23, 2019, 01:21:01 PM
Most people prefer Bitcoin as a store of value rather than a medium of exchange.
Now, If you're talking about the downside of Bitcoin as a mean of currency to purchase to a specific merchant because of its volatile nature, then probably you dont need to overthink about it since there were already tons of merchants who accepts Bitcoin as a mode of payment.
Merchants wont necessarily keep the currency in Bitcoin form, ofcourse they can opt to exchange It to their local fiat currency or hold inside their wallet.

I would agree on this. Basically, people invest in bitcoin due to its high-volatility and as a means of store-of-value either for short/long-term investment. Currently, bitcoin has been accepted by some countries as an alternative payment for their products/services because like what I mentioned, people took an interest on it as an investment.

Unfortunately, the acceptance of bitcoin stems from its very own nature being decentralized- which its transactions cannot be easily traced. Some used this as the main medium under the dark web in purchasing illegal products or services for their own means.
