4224  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [Loan Request] Need funds to run altdice.net - Special conditions on: September 27, 2013, 02:02:21 PM
Well, you should not be running a business if you have no capital for unseen expenses/gambling losses.   Undecided

Good luck.

I didn't see it that way.
I have the fund (in IFC, have about 500 millions IFC in the game). I have 400millions IFC stuck at cryptsy. This will be enough to run a dice game with another coin.
I just want to expand faster. This is why loans are made, right ? :-) Investors have funds, I have a way to make profits. Some might be interested.

With the bet limits I set, it is almost impossible to get bust. The players won't hit the 0.0015% game 10 times in a row, and will lose several times if they play 500 bets on the 95% game.
I think 10 BTC at current rate is the minimum value that can be put in such a dice game.

Anyway, the offer is still running. I will update this thread in any case. :-)

Thanks for reading !

I can't see IFC in the cryptsy exchange

Yeah, this is too bad. The IFC network was undergoing some troubles and it was been suspended on cryptsy. It should be back on anytime now.
I did this loan request because I can implement easily any coin, and when I will have access to these funds I'm going to add one more.
I can add another one if someone lends me some funds, I'll just expand later.
Or I can just wait and see. And grow slowly. This is not so bad also. If anyone is interested to invest, let me know. Rather this way. Wink

Why choose this deal ?
Because there's a source of income.
Because I don't say I'll give you X% of the money you lend everyweek or so, because I just don't know if I can afford it.
I speak in terms of things I can control. If the profit if the equivalent or 2 BTC or 5, I can always give 50% of the profit.
But I can't give 3 BTC if I earn only 2.

]We are up to block 246954 on the old chain and that last block alone contain 1,057,817,529 in transactions. This is a disaster.

This doesn't mean that these transactions are not included in the forked chain. If they got broadcasted all around the network and some miner included it to a further block, they're not lost.

You have to do test and backups if you have funds involved. Don't mean it's lost and destroyed.
block 246954 on the forked chain is not the same as block 246954 on the old chain, they contain different transactions. Find me the block on the forked chain that has the 1,057,817,529 in transactions, bet you can't.

I'd need to explore the monocolor blockchain to see if the address iLTo27RTdq6xwpmnNSe3JUfyZwFt7jyo3B still contains its 300 millions coins that were spend in block 246954.
The chain forked on block 246948. In this block, the coins still were in iLTo27RTdq6xwpmnNSe3JUfyZwFt7jyo3B. They arrived here in block 246822.
The only thing is that on the monocolor blockchain, the transactions in blocks 246949 to 246954 never occured. The coins are not lost.

So what happens to all the coins that were traded on Cryptsy if the fork?

There were 10's of millions traded on that cliff. They won't roll those back. We are locked into this change by those trades.
Trades on Cryptsy will be valid only if the corresponding deposits that got the traded coins there are valid. Withdrawals will probably be toast. Good luck, expect to loose it.

What happenned is that transactions that were sent when the main blockchain was stuck at block 246953 were processed and included in this "monocolor" fork (i'll call it like this Cheesy). From what I understand, only the transactions between blocks 246948 and 248953 might be lost because this chain was forked at block 246948.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but if someone deletes the blockchain and the the most Infinitecoin users use this monocolor blockchain, you will normally automatically sync to this one, right?

Hi Vod,

Yes, I understand this.
The only issue is that I have nothing to give out. Except show what I say is true, and slowly build my trust.
If you have any idea of what I can provide, please tell me.

I am dreaming about a multi altcoin dice game.

But we will do it slowly, one in the same time.
Maybe when 2 or 3 loans are successfully repaid and shown that these were good investments, people will be enthusiastic about lending coins to me.

It's not the time yet.

Anyway I can send some IFC or ZET to anyone that want to try the dice game and check how it runs before investing in it.
4230  Economy / Long-term offers / [Seeking partners] Looking for altcoin funds to expand altdice.net - Special T&C on: September 25, 2013, 10:09:57 PM
EDIT WITH CURRENT LOANS (UPDATED 01.07.14) :

Conditions :

You provide some altcoins (the amount is up to you, but there's a minimum of 1 BTC worth of the altcoin in order to provide interesting bet limits and higher profits in return)
We use these funds to start a game. (This is the principal).
These coins are still yours. You can claim them back anytime.
Over time, I will repay that principal to you.

During the time it takes to repay you, you will receive 50% of the game profits made with the altcoin you provided us.
A report is done at the end of every month about the game performances, and profits are paid at that time.
Of course, profits doesn't count as principal repayments.

I can't promise there will be profits every months, because of the uncertainty in the type of business we're involved.
Once the principal is repaid, you won't receive any more profits.
You can see this as a cool way to get extra coins over time. Smiley

About Altdice :

Running successfully since August 2013. 80% of the coins are kept in cold wallets.
Altdice is not going anywhere. Smiley

We have now released our new website ! You can check it at http://altdice.net

Archive (original post from September 2013) :
Hello everyone ! Smiley
Well, I know I lack reputation and trust, but we have to start somewhere. I have a good investment offer to bring to you.

First, you need to know what's going on to understand why I need these funds. So here is the story :

I went out of the shadows when I announced an Infinitecoin dice game.
The url is : http://www.infinitedice.net
It is listed on infinitecoin.org (infinitecoin official website) and has good reviews on the IFC ANN thread here, on bitcointalk.org
The game runs pretty much like the previous versions of satoshi dice.
After 2 weeks, we had enough vision of how the game runs to fix the game engine. It now processes correctly every transaction. The game is in a stable version.
About the development, the next step will involve better graphics, and a best way to promote other coins on the dice game website.

Now, I am running http://infinitedice.net and http://altdice.net (I know this one is ugly but still better than error 404 on this url. the games are at http://ifc.altdice.net and http://zet.altdice.net Anyway we are soon doing better graphics ! As soon as I can assign some funds to this, we will do it.
On altdice, we can see the IFC version of the game (clone of infinitedice) and also a ZET version of the game, but I lack funds to run it with higher amounts.
I will soon get some ZET from someone to run the game.

I would like to have a first loan for 10 BTC, in order to get funds to add another altcoin.
I am open to any advices to choose an altcoin wisely. I am aware that these can change in value quickly.
Otherwise I will let you know before doing the exchange, of course.

Since I can't tell how well the site will work, I can't promise a % per week or month. But what I can promise is 50% of the site's profit during the period I repay you.

This is how it would work :
Someone lends me 10 BTC to run ftc.altdice.net (for example).
With these 10 BTC I can buy about 11000 FTC at current rate. Then I will set the max bet amount in a way to never run out of coins.
Every week (let's say every sunday) I can give you 50% of the site's profit. The other 50% will remain in the game and will accumulate.

When this accumulation will meet 10% of the amount I owe you (so 1BTC worth of FTC) I will take them out and repay you 10%. In addition of the 50% profits of the game.

In the end, you are going to have 100% of your money back, and along with this you will have 50% of the dice game profits during the loan time.
This offer stands for BTC. You can request the 50% profits in BTC or in the altcoin that was added with your funds.

You can of course request your money back anytime and I will retrieve the funds to send them back to you.
We will keep in touch with Skype.

Now a little more about me.
I'm an IT student. I can provide more info about my identity in PM, along with my phone number.
I am more likely known on the IFC forum, but I'm starting this altcoin dice game.
I have a good user review on bitmit.net where I sold an ASIC Jalapeno for 16 BTC.
I am trustworthy, I am willing to build a good reputation here and if this loan history could hurt me, I wouldn't do it.
I have so much more to lose if I steal 10BTC than if I'm serious and pay it back.

We can use this thread to monitor the loan.
Please feel free to PM me with any question.

I would be happy if this works out. :-)

4231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Infinitecoin - IFC | V1.7 Released! *Mandatory Upgrade, upgrade ASAP* on: September 25, 2013, 09:23:41 PM
We don't need another block chain, we need the dev to pull his finger out an release a new official client with checkpoints for the correct chain, not some hack with uploading a block chain that could be overwritten any time.

I think that soon, if someone will try to sync his wallet from scratch, it will sync to the correct blockchain.
Every service that has his wallet stuck in these high diff blocks (146954) will have to delete their current blockchain and download it again.
I don't really know how the clients determine which is the right blockchain.

Anyway, an interesting test to do would be to make a copy of your wallet.dat and erase everything related to IFC. Then run a clean version of the IFC V1.7 client and see what happens. How will this one sync ? Same blockchain that on http://coin-base.net/infinitecoin/ ?
4232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Infinitecoin - IFC | V1.7 Released! *Mandatory Upgrade, upgrade ASAP* on: September 25, 2013, 06:26:44 PM
Anyway, http://infinitedice.net is now running with the blockchain monocolor specified.
the game is open for betting.
there is a pool running and mining on this blockchain. I tried to build a blockchain from scratch with the v1.7 client, and it syncs to this one.

you can try and send a small 100IFC bet to iHgCJiDBGmU3wQKNz4Tf9ay16nTdT4dqJi and see if you get anything back.
if you do and it confirms, then you are on the right blockchain.
4233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Infinitecoin - IFC | V1.7 Released! *Mandatory Upgrade, upgrade ASAP* on: September 25, 2013, 12:15:18 PM
New blocks, but the difficulty is almost at 0
http://coin-base.net/infinitecoin/

what blockchain are you on? the one that monocolor suggested?

yeah I think it's on the monocolor one. the current block number matches.
I think this is the best option.
I made tests on http://infinitedice.net and it's working good with this blockchain.

4234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Infinitecoin - IFC | V1.7 Released! *Mandatory Upgrade, upgrade ASAP* on: September 25, 2013, 09:29:07 AM
OK I think this is enough. For 3 days, I've been waiting for this super hard block to be solved, and it was not solved, and I don't know how long it will take. The blockchain is jammed. The coin is about to be dead. Thanks to all the attackers to put IFC in this situation.

Luckily we have a way to get out of it. I was sync'ed to an apparent forked chain, and I watched it go from block 247330 to block 248722. I started to mine it sometimes ago, it works fine. With version 1.7 and starting from 248000, the diff retarget becomes normal and everything seems working.

I will not be stuck at block 246953 in the old chain forever. I am using the new chain. By comparing the forked chain with the one in block explorer, I see it forked out of block 246948, 5 blocks before the one we get stuck. So it is not too bad, only 5 blocks will be lost.

You can use 1.7 client and sync from scratch (you need to clean up the config dir, NOT delete wallet and config file, then start to sync with your client), you should get to the forked chain like I did. The sync will take about 3 hours to complete. Or you can download the chain here (pretty big: 228M) :
https://mega.co.nz/#!ZghiRIzT!GlZMiA2_Nv7MQ6V4QqwJRzgfSI5IgkKsnvnZbzJ2Pn4

unrar the file, and copy the files into your config dir (please backup your existing chain, so if you don't like it you can go back).

Also here are my peers, that you may want to use as addnode.

66.87.67.255
108.62.211.7
66.63.176.231
80.7.165.182
24.144.220.244
192.241.222.102
98.18.252.73
192.249.59.81
75.152.93.200
95.170.82.34
67.177.3.56
80.234.71.58

Note, apparently there are more than one forked chains, but other chains can not be sync up, possibly they violate some constraints such as checkpoints. Once you sync to 2487xx, you should be able to start mining with 1.7 client.

great idea
i'm curious what fisheater thinks about this.
should we take this fork and forget about block 246953 ?
anyway i'll have a try on some wallet. i think this is the best option. include these nodes, reset the blockchain and sync to the new one.

EDIT : done it with some wallet. I get a new block every once in a while, so diff retarget is ok and works well ! it tries to sync to another blockchain now (which is at block 332379). Every transactions that I made while solving old blockchain 246953 block are confirmed in this blockchain.

I think this is a good way to somehow "fix" what the IFC is going through. If I mine, I'm not even sure to mine on this old blockchain, to say the truth. So how can we expect to find a block ?

I need to see what happens before upgrading InfiniteDice.net
And .. I hardly see Cryptsy and other exchanges do this without any more feedbacks.

Version 1.7 is released. ** This is mandatory upgrade ***

This is a mandatory upgrade, please upgrade as soon as possible. The download links and source in github are both updated.

Good news ! Happy to read that.

Can someone compile some binaries ? That would be great.
I think infinitecoin.org should also be updated with this news.

I am proud to announce that http://www.infinitedice.net have been updated and is now out of beta !
I want to say thank you to the players that helped us find the bugs, and also for your comprehension when some bets crashed.
But crashes are now over and this is the first stable version.

New features :
- Add a search field in the secret page. You can retrieve the secret that was used for your bet if you search with the secret hash, available in your bet details.
- Add a field showing the lucky number calculation in the bet details page.
- Bet TxID and Payout TxID are now clickable and load the transaction on the block chain explorer.
- Fixed bet search field. This will now show every bet if you send several bets in one transaction.
- Secrets are updated automatically at 00:00 server time.

How to play ?

Just send any amount of your choice between min bet and max bet to any game address of your choice.
The infinity ghost will roll the dice, and pick a number between 0 and 65535.
If your number is lower than the number of the game, you win ! The amount you win is your bet * prize multiplier - 1 IFC.

Have a try ! Send 100 IFC (min bet) to iAmWG6fMLmF22HrX9w5EzvvJAPhvmov4Ch and wait a few seconds. You will quickly receive your winnings, or either 1 IFC if you lose.
This is the 80% chance to win game address, and it pays back to you your bet amount x1.225 if you win !
You can check for the bet results on the website.

Have fun on http://www.infinitedice.net !

Infinitecoin coin was set to half its block value yesterday, in fact the website had a countdown timer on it which indicated Sept 4th. Now it states 7 days to go? What gives? Seems a little strange, supposedly cryptocurrency cant be manipulated, looks like it can. If it has been tinkered with then its credibility and thus value is in serious question.

well i think that network hashing power changed quickly and heavily. as it is not enormous. any serious miner makes a big difference here.
i think that difficulty retargets don't occur often enough. what happenned here is that there was a high difficulty for a low hashing rate. since difficulty retargets occur every X blocks, the network "got late".
this is normal to have blocks with a 3x slower rate if we need 90s with current hashing power to get a block.

i hope the retarget happens fast so everything comes back to normal Smiley
