4242  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buying Bitcoin Through Paypal on: March 02, 2015, 06:50:07 PM
Paypal isn't a method of payment secure, there are a lot of chargeback every day. I don't suggest PP for buy bitcoin , better cash.

4248  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there a true 'bank' for bitcoin? on: March 02, 2015, 10:47:35 AM
the only bitcoin bank is you wallet with your local client, but it would be cool if who has some btc could see it rising in the wallet, but not exactly like pos coin

those already rich should not be rewarded, but only who have small amount of btc

There is no difference between interest paid for your bank account and interest of a PoS coin.
Except your bank's interest is probably lower, and you give all your money out of your own hands  Cheesy

Everyone gets the same % in PoS.

In my example:
My bank pays me 0.01% per year
My PoS coin pays me ~0.5% year

To make the poor earn more interest than the rich is very very hard to do in crypto, because of sybil attack.

The problem of the PoS algorithm is : it is more vulnerable to a 51% attack ( I'm saying a 51% coin attack). So the large bagholder can "destroy" the coin.

4250  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there a true 'bank' for bitcoin? on: March 02, 2015, 09:56:38 AM
A bitcoin bank will "destroy" the concept of decentralization. Your bank  is your personal wallet, not the exchange, not the scammy site (be your own bank). If all the people will start to deposit all the bitcoin in "one point" the bitcoin will lose its "effect".

i see that the website is open again and you can login into your account in the exchanger website, but i see that the withdrawals are disabled. are they back or going to be back.
i don't have much money there but i want to get that small amount out Wink

You should check their twitter profile | https://twitter.com/btercom | and if you want here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=956738.0) we are discussing about the bter's situation.

4255  Economy / Auctions / Re: Selling Hero account (with avatar) on: March 01, 2015, 07:11:53 PM
Yes its a very good account for sig campaigns. One can easily ROI, redsn0w made more than 0.9 btc this month with his hero account on the bit-x campaign, and you can make even more if you have the time. The avatar also adds lots of value to the account as well

The problem is : I'm a Sr. member not an hero .  Not all the users can post on the forum regularly.
4256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 12 hours unconfirmed transaction - help on: March 01, 2015, 05:08:30 PM
if you pay 0.0005 it is about 12 cents.

I try to pay 0.001 which is about 24 cents.

If btc jumps up to 500 a coin I would pay 0.0005 which would be about 25 cents
whats the point of paying 0.001 when the deposit goes through easily with 0.0001 fee?

It is a free choice, if you want you can also put 0.005 btc but remember that the bitcoin's fee is always "lowest" compared to bank transfer's fee.

4258  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTER.com hacked - 7170 BTC stolen [DON'T KEEP YOUR MONEY ON AN EXCHANGE] on: March 01, 2015, 04:09:33 PM

There is no word on their twitter yet about what they plan to do about the stolen bitcoins.

Forget about bitcoins..

Are you serious? I've ~ 3,4  bitcoins on the cryptocurrency exchange bter.com
I am waiting for my alt coins which are worthing nearly 2 BTC and already forget about 0.75 BTC because they are stolen  Cry

Yes, I think the bitcoin will not be reimbursed. It is gone, I think (or at least I hope) that all the altcoins will be reimbursed.
4259  Other / New forum software / Re: Will data carry over? on: March 01, 2015, 03:50:47 PM
I'm not sure what to say. If you don't have a valid email, there's no way to securing send you the link to register your password with the new forum. If you have a better idea, I'm more than happy to listen. If a user hasn't been using their account on the forum for a long time... well chances are they haven't been using the site much either. Either way, they can always just make a new account.

What about the activity, trust, posts etc... the user has earned? Would it move from old account to new account if user provide a signed message? But wouldn't it make this worst?

   -MZ

That's all easily moved over. The point is that when the user's password is hashed in the old DB. We aren't going to just copy that over, the user will need to access a link and that link needs to be sent over securely. Email is the best option right now.

| taesup |

This , you are right. Maybe before the migration in the new forum you can add a simple message to the top page (near the forum username):

"Remember to put a valid email, or you will lose your forum account during the migration to the new forum software."
4260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: people killed the killer app for bitcoin! on: March 01, 2015, 11:26:25 AM
The real killerApp is oraclize (based on orisi), and new sidechains function and the possibility to decentralized a lot of the life aspects/relationship with the government.
