4241  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US ‘kidnaps’ Russian MP’s son to ‘exchange him for Snowden’ on: July 08, 2014, 01:49:30 PM
The U.S. did this for obvious political reasons. If Russia were to kidnap a U.S. citizen, the US wouldn't care much. They have a decorated US marine, Andrew Tahmooressi rotting in a Mexican prison on BS charges. The state dept. or Obama Admin isn't doing a thing about that. Whilst they let 50,000+ anchor babies through it's borders with utmost care and concern. Shows just how much the US of BSA cares about it's own. It's citizens and veterans are disposable as is evident also with the VA scandal

If you think that's bad the UK government over here freely extradite UK citizens to the U.S knowing precisely the kind of treatment they'll get, if I knew that the U.S wanted me extradited I'd flee to China or Russia as well since they seem to be the only truly sovereign countries around anymore that stand up to them.

4246  Other / Politics & Society / Re: World Cup Teams That Forbade Players From Having Sex... on: July 08, 2014, 07:16:51 AM
if they're not having sex then they're probably more tense and going to play worse.

I can tell you if I ever got told I couldn't masturbate or have sex for that long I would end up like this.

4247  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Help me set up a merchant on: July 08, 2014, 07:08:23 AM
As someone who has done their research I can tell you it's EXTREMELY difficult to have payments done from somebody wanting to pay in standard paper money, it may actually be easier in the long run for you to just switch to Bitcoin and demand everybody you deal with do the same, yes, that loses business, but in the long run there's no other option unless a company comes along and fixes this problem because I'd like to be able to do this for my Jewellery business as well.

I don't know about one time payments but the only thing I have been able to find is these guys https://coinvoice.com/ and I have no idea whether they are legitimate or not, they probably are because they demand a real business address to use but the only one I personally had was my home address and there's no way I'm going to let a company like that data farm me like that, Cryptocurrencies were invented because of exactly this kind of thing and people just aren't realising it yet.
4248  Other / Off-topic / Re: Google co-founder Larry Page thinks People Shouldn't Have to Work So Much on: July 08, 2014, 06:55:08 AM
No job can be done 60 hours a week forever, if people here are really honest with themselves how many times have they genuinely worked solidly for a whole day? I doubt many people could answer with a yes, I really enjoy my work and am working my arse off to get things done but unless I get obsessive my brain has a built in limiter for the length of work that I'm doing. Classic example is when I have an art lesson, I've decided never to draw on a day I'm doing one, this may sound ridiculous but whenever I draw outside the lesson my brain shuts down midway through the lesson and I physically can't work anymore, it's a bit like art block and I've started recognising what triggers it and to avoid it now so I'm more productive, if I go against this I find myself unable to physically draw and make the connection between my brain and my hand when I'm drawing images in my head.

I make up for this by working like crazy during the times when my brain is quite happy to keep going but even then unless I'm doing something really fun it tends to sort of cut off at a certain point, I can't work long stretches endlessly, this is why I'm on this forum so much in case you're wondering, because it's interesting enough and to do with my work so I just let my brain relax and chat to people until I can start work again.
4249  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Does Kurd deserve their own country ? on: July 06, 2014, 06:51:35 PM
They seem to be some of the only sane people I've found ( Unless of course someone digs up an old article of them acting crazy Sad ) that willingly live alongside people and don't constantly try to fuck the people over, adding to that they have a standing army and their region is pretty stable, not to mention the fact they have women openly serving in their armed forces which is more than the U.S can fucking say.

So yeah, unless they've been committing genocide or something secretly in their own region It would be nice to see them get their own country, problem is though, the western and eastern powers will never allow it, they're fighting incredibly hard just to keep us from even voting on anything when it comes to the EU and Scotland.
4250  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many people like really *LIKE* caffeine on: July 06, 2014, 06:41:59 PM
I drank way too much coffee once and it does make you feel ill 1 - 2 a day is safe, anything more regularly and you're asking for trouble.
4251  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why has the left wing abandoned Israel? on: July 06, 2014, 03:56:42 PM
The question should be more, why hasn't the right abandoned Israel?
4252  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you really earn more money because you went to college? on: July 06, 2014, 07:24:41 AM
I enrolled myself as a trainee into a large company straight out of high school and slaved there for about 2 years, after finishing my schooling (which they paid for) I was eligible for a real job which was a starting salary of 50k a year.

Would pick this path a thousand times over because while everyone @20 years was still poor and in uni I bought my first investment at 21.

That's the thing, everyone in University/College may be acting smug and superior now but I can guarantee when a great depression rolls around they'll be running around in a panic like headless chickens.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u40mJ_ls5VE

Oh and adding to that every person I chat to over the internet about university/College seems bitter as fuck and unconvincingly tells me about how important it is I think even though my path is a difficult one I think I've made the correct one for the long term, I'd also like to point out as well now that a couple of my friends who aren't in university have already come back from doing courses and stuff and they're trying to figure out what to do with their lives because they didn't plan ahead.

Exact same thing will happen with the people I know going to University or more than likely they'll get a job in something that has absolutely nothing to do with what they originally studied, I can tell you something personal but my brother went for a masters degree in History and now he's basically doing tech support and fixing computers because that's where his skillset is. There's only one person I know of who actually went and did what they studied and that's his g/f but that's because she planned ahead properly and decided what she wanted to do and took the right degree and the right specialisation.

gg education system.

I would like to point out that I don't actually have anything against the idea of someone getting a degree in general, but you damn well better make sure you don't waste 4 years of your life studying sociology or any bullshit like that when you want to just be an electrician or something, no matter how much people try to beat it into you it just isn't worth the amount of time you waste.
4253  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is the West gearing up to invade Russia once again? on: July 06, 2014, 07:20:05 AM
Will Russia persuade China to sell the giant stock of the U.S. treasuries it has in possession? Shocked

Why should China sell them at a loss? Right now the demand for US treasury bonds are at an all-time low. If China unloads a few trillion worth of bonds, there will be simply no buyers to mop them up.

That's the whole point, they're worthless so they're trying to get rid of them, to be honest, might as well just burn them all or something, it would make a pretty powerful statement too.

One more thought; if you think there is no role for government, try to imagine this outcome without government's involvement.

If I did go to Burning Man I would certainly avoid any contact with the Bitcoin crew (while at that venue.)  Especially after the SJ 2013 conference and reading down through the posts on this thread.

What happened at the 2013 SJ Conference?

Is that the one where a girl actually showed up there and things got awkward? Tongue
4257  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-07-05] Man recovers $500,000 in bitcoins he mistakenly sent to defunct Mt. on: July 05, 2014, 05:28:47 AM
Of course the article is going to be vague, these journalists know even less about recovering lost Bitcoins than I do, even if an expert explained things to them they wouldn't post it up because they wouldn't be able to comment on it.
4258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has anyone got any of the bitcoin ATM cards already? on: July 05, 2014, 02:44:44 AM
Sounds dodgy as fuck OP unless they have a legitimate business partner and the law on their side, I wouldn't try it, I could see a bank or a credit card company doing this but if it's just someone with a cheap website selling them I'd avoid it.

I think there are too many programmers really for that to work and you'll find any artists etc. here have their own threads in the marketplace section.
