What is going on...

Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling!
Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes...
The dead rising from the grave!
Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together...
mass hysteria!

ok I'll just ramp this up a bit...this gem just got posted

https://bitcoin.org/en/alert/2017-07-12-potential-split

when bitcoin.org says a hard fork is possible.....man this is gonna hurt!

mate, do you even read? that's from 12th

Ack! That makes it worse...I just thought folk were being nuts this week!

(silly primates)

I'm Holding...just watching the drama......It will bounce back in price after

Still looks contrived to me, as a way to drive price way down one more time before seg witness of whatever flavor
takes hold...thus when that happens 5K coin....a nice panic sale, would help many, pushing the fork fud imho.

Like the threat of a bitmain UAHF if the UASF goes through...drive the price way down..then be a 'hero' again
like with litecoin and compromise and reap the profits the same way with BTC agreement......what I'd do BTC cabal wise...if they exist Smiley

Bitcoin Core Posts Hardfork is Possible August 1st.

   Well that sucks.....

   Here is the link

Well sh*t just got real imho, if www.bitcoin.org is giving advice on this.

   Take the poll.

Poll needs real answers, please add:

Drop Below $1,750
Drop Below $1,500
Drop Below $1,250
Drop Below $1,000
Drop Below $750

Well, that looks dire....Sad

My HOPE is that this is just a bunch of FUD being tossed about by miners/whales and others to drive BTC price way down...one last time ...before a version of
seg witness is embraced...thus pumping to 5k at the end of the year...if I was a btc cabal its what I'd do....

IF it is not this..then it is a bunch of hairless pink monkeys ie humans....hooting and making noise...tossing poo about and not really know wtf is going on....(if so any aliens on bitcointalk get me off this damn planet!) Sad

It is either a brilliant evil plan on the part of whales/miners/etc or it is a complete cluster that no one knows what the heck is going on with these upgrades and they are just a
'winging it" as they say

pick your poison

4285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: July 16, 2017, 11:15:39 AM
Does anyone have experience with Parallel Miner PSUs?  They claim their 2400 W model can power up to 3 L3+s, but L3+ has power requirement of 800W + 10% which will exceed that 2400 W.

Also, how reliable are the Parallel Miner PSUs?  Any feedback from someone from direct experience will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

I'd just get the 105 buck version and run ONE psu per L#+ as the site says.....

shop.bitmain.com

The price is right and they flat out state it will work fine on ONE S9 or ONE L3+ with 1 year warranty

4286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Barry Silbert segwit2x agreement with >80% miner support. on: July 16, 2017, 11:12:22 AM
"The SegWit2x development team aims for July 21st to be the day that BTC1 nodes are actually up and running, and, importantly, the day that miner signaling should commence."

-bitcoin magazine

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/countdown-segwit-these-are-dates-keep-eye/

Damn this is cutting it really close. I bet a lot of bitcoiners are puckering up their butt cheeks now
 Cheesy

Why? I'm totally chilled! Never will I run this client! And when others are freaking out right now and sell their coins I will gladly pick them up. If BTC1 messes it up to activate SegWit then BIP148 UASF will do it. So no worries here!

Oh no doubt UASF will activate it. But I worry about the Chinese mega miners / mega pools. If they are playing a ruse it could get messy. I would really like to avoid an ETH - ETC scenario. You may be able to grab cheap bitcoin but at the end of it you'll end up with two or more "bitcoins" and your cheap bitcoins may not be so valuable in aggregate as when bitcoin was one whole entity.

Anyways, I don't want to spread FUD. Good on you that you are so chill about it! Smiley

Not that I think much of this...but remember if USAF activates...bitmain claims they are gonna go UAHF and split.....(drama always drama) Sad

4287  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 16, 2017, 09:49:29 AM
well this guy says it won't be resolved in time for August 1st...or the high probability  of such

bitcoin being bitcoin ....it is likely ...even if consensus is reached say for segwit2 +2mb ..they'd likely not have the

code ready or if rushed...yeah...fork ..then fix action

anyway...see link below....I've never seen Bitcoin follow a path that is easy....so just saying

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/bitcoin-miners-miss-first-bip-148-deadline/

hope I am dead wrong...I doubt it however

4288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Barry Silbert segwit2x agreement with >80% miner support. on: July 16, 2017, 09:43:39 AM
Well is this Segwit2x +2mb version gonna be up in time by August 1st or are we gonna have a complete

'cluster party' ?

This guy lays it out.......I am not encouraged Sad

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/bitcoin-miners-miss-first-bip-148-deadline/

You could begin the discussion as follows: "Once you have the Cat's herded...it is a simple step to......."

So, like the above 'cat herding' I don't see this being up in time and working. (or if 'rushed' ..making its own unintentional fork)

hope I am incorrect though

4289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll. UASF or Segwit2x? on: July 16, 2017, 09:39:35 AM

This link nails the whole drama of which protocol imho. It is to the point. Reaffirms my view that segwit2 +2mb will not get it together
fast enough to avoid a split ...even if the split will be healed later..due to ..again...imho ...missed deadline

anyway how this guy puts it out there

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/bitcoin-miners-miss-first-bip-148-deadline/

anyway my view of this coming cluster is they just won't get anything done in time by August 1st

hope I am incorrect

4290  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 15, 2017, 10:39:39 AM
You guys took your profit right? Guys?

If you mean ...'accumulating' more coin..yeah... Smiley

4291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: July 15, 2017, 10:36:22 AM
Seems like Bitmain pulled L3+ after todays bloodbath

They're sold out now

Didn't take long.  I'd have a better chance getting into Willy Wonka's chocolate factory

http://www.llnyc.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/willy-wonka-golden-ticket.jpg

AT 38 buck LTC they are gonna be sold out ..till by 'happenstance' (wink, wink) LTC creeps back up to about $45 bucks imho

though I suspect in the mean time we will see a mess of hashnet at above 2k price.

predictable they are

4292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll. UASF or Segwit2x? on: July 15, 2017, 10:33:29 AM
UASF have small support from miners while SegWit2x testnet failed few days ago which makes few SegWit2x and both of them don't have big support from bitcoin community.
I like UASF since they have better idealism, but SegWit2x also increase blocksize to 2MB which we need right now, so i prefer SegWit2x.

So basically, USAF has to hit at least 21% to stop the 80% on segwit2 right?

Then if that happens, bitmain has said it will automatically do a UAHF to the bitcoin network...

so what are folk giving for odds of any of the 2 above happening?

me maybe if generous I think 3% chance

All this FUD imho is just that FUD to drive the price down one more time for whales before the price pumps after an agreement (even if it is just the first 1/2 of the segwit2 +2mb part)

All very familiar

rinse/wash/repeat

MY 'guess' is we will be back about $2,400 usd BTC by Oct 2017 at the worst..this too shall pass

4293  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 15, 2017, 09:12:39 AM
Nothing will happen on August 1st. As we have seen many times before, lots of drama.

I prefer we get HF and get rid of Chinese extortionists and their BUcoin.

Actually, it is the large players imho chruning up all this FUD...price drops...get more coin.....I suspect it will bounce right back after August 1st

and the whales spreading the FUD on forking/usaf/etc....will have to find a new method to drive the price down, to help their further accumulation of BTC.

rinse/wash/repeat
4294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: First Asic for SIA - Obelisk SC1 on: July 15, 2017, 09:05:43 AM
Well I took a chance on two of these Obelisk SC-1 beasties....

I looked at another one (maybe..just to look) and a big difference between the ave price on the other two
of I think it was 0.976 btc vs the 1.235 btc (19% increase) that I'd pay today at $2,053 btc.

ugg..that is ugly Sad

Brad

I think they're taking usd via bank transfer now, but I guess you're trying to put your crypto to work.

They'll still be for sale after August 1st, when I suspect btc will rebound somewhat once FUD runs out.

So I gather they are taking BOTH now? Wire Xfer and BTC?

But yeah, main reason for me to get the Obelisk SC-1 miners was for equipment write off into next year...too much mining revenue...and as to my mining.....well,  hell even
and idiot like me can do well, if LTC mining goes from $4.15 to $56 bucks per LTC...(now it is $40.10 per LTC as we speak)...thus scrambling for equipment that makes at
least SOME sense ....

Trying to not give ALL my money to the IRS ..so did this as a 'hedge' (in my feeble justifications for all equipment buys) ..but now ...if BTC keeps dumping....well damn...I did not expect to
have to hedge....against BTC dumping......but here we are Sad

4295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BAIKAL asic mine 2000MH/s on: July 15, 2017, 08:55:12 AM
Yeah, the profitability of the CUBEs is already very low if you don't have free electricity. Very likely the GIANT+ will never ROI.

I guess you can always start mining some smaller coins and hope they blow up if you feel like gambling...

Yeah, the catch is it takes 3 giant+'s at 2K each = 6,000 usd to mine 1/2 of what they are charging for the Ibelink 10gh version. (Sold out)

On the other hand, you pay almost 2x as much on the above Baikal 2000 to get the equivalent  hash rate for 6,000 usd. So that deal sucks.

This may not really matter if you are outside of China, it seems on ordering any of these products.......

On the other hand, having tried to get Baikal miners and at least tried the same on Ibelink....it is impossible if you are in the USA

(using 100mh Univ bandwidth) to get either it seems.....completely and utterly locked out of the ibelink site due to load....so no joy. Sad

So hell, unless I find someone running a data hall in China on bitcointalk here...ain't gonna get any more X11 miners, no matter what it seems.

Not at least at the current methods that they push units out. NO JOY for such in the USA it seems...likey same for Europe as well.

I also can see the Baikal units going to x13 and x15...when Ibelink slams them on x11 difficulty pump, .however I was told it was a fairly easy firmware fix..so I would guess Ibelink units in a month or so will be able to do x13 and x15 protocols as well..thus with difficulty rise on x11 .and then x13 and x15....my Baikal (it did roi) 300mh cube shall be 'paperweight'.  A cute paperweight ......but a paperweight none the less Sad

If you can never get the product due circumstances out of your control (bandwidth and wrong time zone as an example) ..no use crying

over 'spilled asic machines' ....just gonna have to move on Sad

lucky for you but not so lucky for idiots who bought them recently. once ibelink starts shipping those poor souls be spreading butt cheeks for sure. it's payback time.

Dash hashrate already double ... Shocked Shocked

Currently 13.30 Th/s

July 5th was 6.20 Th/s

And the baikals and ibelinks are not even out. Get ready people, Thank God i already got my ROI on all of my 8 baikals.

I see the future.......

with massive X11 coin difficulty increase....a massive surge of baikal products to

x13 and x15 coin!!!! (damn, no one else has my soothsayer skills ..proof!!!) Smiley

4298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BAIKAL asic mine 2000MH/s on: July 12, 2017, 01:16:31 PM

That seems fishy, why does your photo show x13, x14, and x15 lower hashrate then the others? All past baikal miners were the same hashrate on all algo's...

Hi,

That is baikal technical specification.

We dont have power to change hash rates  Smiley

I will ask the first obvious question....do you take escrow and if so by whom on the forum here?

(let the arrows fly) Smiley

Hi,

Yes we can use Escrow. I am not use it before but we can use most trusted escrow in forum.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0

The Big 3: Monbux, Tomatocage, OgNasty

We can ask them. If ok for you.

And lets continue here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2016518.0

Well, good to know. I myself am not interested at the prices quoted. Sent you a pm.

good luck on your escrow/sale thou

Anyone here gamble on the oblisk SC coin Siacoin miner at $2500 usd? Besides me? (I got one for now).

Got one aswell, also preordered a Minebox Smiley

Ah ..the minebox....I might just build one....what kinda 'rent' or whatever do you get and what do you expect
to get say this month if you were to turn on one of the 2 flavor sizes minebox they are selling?

8th
16th
more?

would be nice if I could get a ballpark figure..of "I built one and am making after electric about say $111 a month

I would not expect much ..but hell, got no info at all on ave siacoin storage returns in $$$ on a minebox etc

maybe I too will get motivated...but selling space? etc no clue have I.......

thanks

4300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Barry Silbert segwit2x agreement with >80% miner support. on: July 12, 2017, 11:50:38 AM
Well, I'm a simple fellow on all this. Just an observation...not that it is gonna effect this agreement or anything else....

The most telling thing to me in all this ...is

1) the spam and all the full block stuff went away as soon as consensus was reached on seg witness being done anyway by the 2mb camp (non-core) that
flies even if the 2mb becomes an issue in the future after August. If this had never happened, their would have been no incentive for doing anything
other than just implementing seg witness promptly ..and work on this stuff later (as supposedly is agreed to now ..again imho I think that is how it is setup)

2) who has incentive to FORCE this issue with the spam attacks that now mysteriously disappeared...what is the agenda (I'll not speculate on this just tossing
it out there as weird as all hell) .......was it just sandbox control of the dump truck by a bunch of 2-year-olds..that is the end result of 2 years of cluster?

3) Ego and control..no matter how you look at this in hindsight or how you go about seeing this whole thing since the failed Hong Kong agreement.....nobody involved
looks in any way or shape 'clean' after this cluster....everyone seems to want to toy for themselves and screw the community.

Just something that should be mentioned as a "was it really just a play for control" the whole charade of high transaction fees and slow confirm times....
just a lever to make some kind of ego protecting 'stand' with seg witness the starting point..and a jump off point for more clusterf'ing around in the future?

anyway, just looking at it from that point of view, it makes me sad as hell, we have drifted that far down, since the attempt at the Hong Kong agreement...we
are a long way imho on both sides from principle and logic determining progress....and I fear it will become worse the next 'go around' end of this fall 2017.
