4361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can more ATM's increase adoption for Bitcoin? on: September 23, 2019, 12:21:09 PM
<snip...>
We know consumers love ATM's and the convenience. Would you buy Bitcoin at ATM or nah?

It depends but currently, the adoption for Bitcoin ATMs will have little to no effect.

The problem with ATMs are not the units but the transaction fees every time a person attempts to withdraw their bitcoins. Rather than using the ATMs, people would save more when they withdrew using other options provided in their respective local exchanges.
Just to give you an example, in the Philippines, there exist 2-3 bitcoin ATMs but no one seems to transact and use the machine. The adoption of every ATM will be the ideal scenario but until the fees are high, the implementation may only cause the opposite effect.
4362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A cryptocurrency entirely dedicated to GAMBLING? on: September 23, 2019, 10:59:57 AM
An idea came onto my mind, and it consists about a currency that is entirely dedicated onto gambling and also betting, I did not search through the web if there is actually a crypto that has done this. Gambling is a thing that the people love to do, whether if it is in the casino or online, but have you ever thought of a crypto that will serve as your main currency whether if it is in the casino or it is on online, I think this could also be beneficial for the gamblers as well, I wanna know about what you think of my idea, whether if it is a positive or negative opinion, I will still take it.

The reason on why most people use BITCOIN as their currency for gambling is due to its value that no other altcoin can match.

Assuming that we were to use a currency entirely dedicated to gambling, the next question would be the price of such currency. Remember what determines the price of BITCOIN is the number of people who uses the currency. Basically, the law of supply and demand governs its price on the market.

Going back, if there exist such currency for gambling, its price would start at rock-bottom and its supply would be relatively huge. This would mean that it's actually priceless until people use it, which I doubt will happen anytime soon.

4364  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Video Game Addiction, a very real problem. on: September 17, 2019, 08:12:49 PM
Video games are designed to make you hooked and extract as much as they can from you.  You are slaves on the world they created, wasting your consciousness away on a virtual world.  And the grinding games are the absolute worst, its just the same gameplay over and over.

The problem is not about video games but ADDICTION in general.

People may be addicted to various things and it just so happened that people are hooked to video games nowadays. Also, there are people who are addicted to gambling which I believe brings worse implications and effects. The only way in order to solve this problem is by having self-discipline and limitation to oneself. Without these essential restrictions, people would succumb further which would potentially destroy their lives in the future.

Very true, but you can play to earn cryptpcurrency.

What kind of method would transpose to playing and earning cryptocurrencies? Also, regardless of the earnings, you would still succumb to addiction. The problem would manifest especially you take it away from them quickly and not gradually.
4365  Economy / Gambling / Re: BSpin.io | Bitcoin Casino | Instant deposits | Slots, Games and Lottery on: September 17, 2019, 06:15:09 PM
I don't play, but if anyone actually play games on BSpin.io platform, please share your experience here, to help BSpin.io team know which current drawbacks of their games, platforms from gamblers' perspective, then take necessary actions to improve their games and platforms, if needed.

Why you dont try it yourself while you are promoting and getting paid for their signature campaign instead of asking others to give a review? You can spend few percents of your campaign earning to try the game and share your experience here. So it will be like a mutual-ism symbiosis between you and the site, you dont need to risk all your earning, few bets with the minimum bet amount is enough if you want to help them to improve the games/platforms like what you have just said.
It's absurd when you join a campaign but never played on the site being promoted. Though payments through their bspin account so no need to wait to make a deposit. At least try a few games there as appreciation for joining his campaign.

I respectfully disagree about the contention of gambling in their website to show appreciation.

There are lots of ways in order to support/show appreciation in this project. You cannot force someone to gamble to prove their appreciation about it. Writing reviews, sharing insights, providing feedbacks, and making suggestions may be considered. Although it may be argued that the 'best' way is to actually try their games, I disagree that IT being the only way of showing appreciation.

Nonetheless, I checked the website and it would be easier if they divided the games into categories instead of scrolling through the entire page. I wish nothing but the best of luck to this project and may it be profitable!
4366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sad News: Kidnappers now requesting bitcoin as ransom in Nigeria on: September 17, 2019, 05:59:05 PM
Shouldn't this be positive news? Even halfwits from poor African countries who can't find a job and have to kidnap people to bring food to the table are using Bitcoin.

This goes against all those who say Bitcoin is only for tech geeks and an average person won't know how to use it or won't spend time to learn.

You can view this news into two perspectives:

1. Economic Perspective; and
2. General Welfare.

For the first perspective like what you have mentioned, a country that is as poor as Nigeria is utilizing bitcoin in their country. Their economic condition does not hamper their accessibility towards this opportunity of earning cryptocurrencies in their country. At first, I did not think that it may be possible for them to gain access but this gives hope in the future in using cryptocurrencies as the next generation of money.

For the second perspective, we cannot deny the fact that any crime is an unfortunate event. Although kidnapping results to a serious crime which illegally deprives the right of an individual, a life cannot be traded and be regarded as equal to money or property. If people are using bitcoin as their ransom, this may negatively impact the reputation of bitcoin further.
4367  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Blockchain trigger a massive boost in our economy? on: September 17, 2019, 04:25:02 PM
The idea behind the blockchain being applied to transactions revolve around every time being subjected to a public ledger, which can be seen in the internet.

For example, in the supermarket every product comes with a label with a scannable QIR code. In that QIR code contains all the information of that said product including where it came from, its origin, and all the necessary details which are relevant. Again, the very idea stems from the transparency of information on the market.

From the example above, people would be more inclined to purchase products given that all information about the said product are unalterable (which is reflected on the blockchain). This can potentially boost the economy in the long-run and eliminate the doubts and ambiguities we have.

Blockchain has done very little to shift economies around, sure a few lower class people got rich but doesn't change the system at its core as more and more billionaires gain mass amounts of power over us with their giant companies.

Never the less, blockchain will be here. You might just get a way to be one of those lower class who got rich.

The future will still be determined by how we will start using using blockchain for good. With all the high tech AIs and sophisticated projects we have today, its not impossible to reach a certain development to help country's economy and cryptocurrencies but blockchain products that might just help production and manufacturing.

I do believe that the blockchain may be implemented sometime in the future wherein the access to the internet would become an essential to all. Unfortunately, due to economic discrepancies between developed and underdeveloped countries, this implementation cannot be applied in the present.
4368  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [NEWS] Online gambling contributes P551 billion to Philippine economy yearly on: September 17, 2019, 03:23:45 PM

4369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most of gamblers are rich or poor? on: September 17, 2019, 01:10:29 PM
<snip...>

Based from my experience, majority of the gamblers that I see are on the below to middle class citizens with the rich gamblers being limited to exclusive casinos.

Be reminded that there are casinos that offer various methods of gambling. In addition, gambling does not pertain to someone going to casinos. It is enough that they risk their money in a game/method of chance with the risks being equally divided proportionate to the amount that you bet.

Gambling exist even in the least-possible place that you would suspect that would happen. Majority of the gamblers are also the people who are under financial debt/conflict that resulted to means of extremes.
4370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you buy National Lottery tickets with Bitcoin in your country? on: September 17, 2019, 09:19:18 AM
I am just curious to know if you can buy lottery tickets for your own national lottery in your country. I am not referring to all these scam gambling sites with supposed "Provably Fair" lottery systems.

I bought some lottery tickets online and I was only presented with the old traditional payment options and I figured it is time for us to approach these Lottery operators, to ask for a Bitcoin payment option.  Wink

If enough people ask for this, they just might consider giving us that option to pay with bitcoins.  Grin  What payment options do you have for online lottery in your country?

Unfortunately, the option of buying lottery tickets using bitcoin has yet to be introduced but there are merchants available online that accept bitcoin as an alternative payment for products/services. That alone is sufficient to say that the acceptance of bitcoin in our country is relatively fine considering the massive prohibitions done by other countries.

Like what I mentioned above, our local exchange has merchants that accept bitcoin as an alternative payment for products/services. The beauty of our exchange stems from the options available as you can directly transfer your funds to your bank account!
4371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why haven't governments illegalized bitcoin transactions? on: September 17, 2019, 02:40:16 AM
The government realizes the economic effects that cryptocurrencies brought about. What they can only do is to implement rules and regulations to control transactions since its anonymity has serious legal implications.

I doubt that the government would ban bitcoin even in the long run as they also recognize the technology behind it- the blockchain. This type of innovation can be the future of currency and I also think that they are studying and carefully analyzing on how they can apply it to modern transactions.

The banks like JP Morgan are getting in on their version of crypto, and so are companies like Facebook, Telegram, and alike. They will secure faster transactions, although they will remain centralized. It could be that the governments are simply hoping that new users will just go for those centralized versions of crypto, and that Bitcoin and real cryptocurrencies will just end up forgotten.

Even if big companies (such as the ones you mentioned) create their respective coins, I doubt that bitcoin would be eliminated in the face of the earth anytime soon. A centralized coin will defeat the very purpose on why bitcoin was sought for- the anonymity and elimination of p2p transactions.
4372  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to Bitcoin, am I too late? on: September 16, 2019, 08:06:59 PM
<snip....>

When I started joining this forum around 2 years ago, I also lacked the necessary knowledge about cryptocurrencies, in general. In order to address this gap of knowledge, I watched this video on youtube about TedTalk where it explained the blockchain technology and its real-world application if we were to implement it on the present technology (check the link below).

I also thought that I was late in the party and missed my chance of investing in bitcoin. But I soon realized that the best time to start investing or knowing bitcoin is the day you first know about its existence. You can never be too late in discovering something for as long as you do not waste any opportunity in leaning about it more.

Video link which I highly recommend anyone to watch it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k53LUZxUF50
4373  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Global Warming Real? on: September 16, 2019, 07:04:51 PM
Global warming is not just real but it is happening currently in the world. With the general increase of temperature on the Earth, it has brought about catastrophic destruction to our ecosystem and to the natural habitat. We may seem to take everything for granted but we have this inherent intergenerational responsibility of self-preservation for the generations to come.

Global warming is not just a serious issue but it has to be addressed and controlled in order to prevent disastrous effect brought about by mother nature. Before, tropical storms have resulted to floods but due to global warming, it has the potential of resulting to flash floods which is more devastating and intensified.

Lastly, along with the general increase of temperature on the Earth's atmosphere, it has melted ice caps which would be devastating problem if it persists. It will not only endanger the polar bears and other animals but it will also affect us in the future if we do not address this problem soon.
4374  Economy / Economics / Re: what will happens if everyone has own currency, doesn't a bad for Economics ? on: September 16, 2019, 06:07:58 PM
Having their respective currency would destroy the economic and the financial sector as the difference in value would be prejudicial to countries who have their currency valued to be the lowest and the cheapest. Not to mention, this would also affect people who lacks such access to these currencies as they purely exist on the internet.

Think of it this way, if everyone has their respective currency, what would determine the value of each? How would the law of supply and demand work in this kind of dynamic in determining its prices? This would be subject to manipulation by people who has the power to purchase majority of the coins which would have the sole power to manipulate the prices.

To many coins brings a negative effect on the market, brings chaos and destabilisation, every day would be created hundred of different coins.

That is true. The more coins we make, the more we destroy the equilibrium and balance especially if we adapt these currencies as our own.
4375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tricks and tips for esports betting on: September 16, 2019, 05:22:46 PM
I'll ask such a banal question (yes, is there already a rule in this forum)

Do you know how to make money by betting Esports? Do you have any good ways (in your opinions) to make money? Or maybe only intuition , current form, players' morale?

I think it's a pretty good idea, such as more serious consideration and analysis like here on esports bettings talks  but I'm talking about restricted discussions in the restricted area. Insiders and key information. Do you know any other sources of this kind or somethink for reading like blogosphere gaming information and news here ?

Esports betting has been growing over the past years with the games having increased prize pool depending on its reputation on the market. Just to cite one example, Dota 2 has recently broke the record of having the most expensive prize pool ever reaching $30 million dollars as the prize money! So imagine the numbers and the amount of people currently invested in the game.

Betting Esports is actually easy than you thought it would be. There are gambling websites that cater to esport betting. If you also play the game, there are certain websites that lets you gamble your in-game items.
4376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banking system and BTC on: September 15, 2019, 10:20:05 PM
Hello traders. What's your opinion could BTC kill banking system? Bitcoin has an advantage over fiatbecause its amount is limited and it can't fall under inflation.Inflation usually is caused by monetary policies of our central banks. Bitcoin is free from inflation, governement control and  high transaction fees.Banks can’t control BTC because it has no representative and is fully decentralized. That's why banks are afraid of BTC.

Ooops! I think you are construing inflation as a negative phenomenon in economics. Over the years, people have been viewing inflation as something that should be avoided at all cost. In contrary, inflation is actually beneficial to the economics GIVEN that it falls on the control level set by the government. What makes it destructive if it reaches a certain level wherein the community cannot quickly adapt to the general increase in the prices due to hyperinflation.

Bitcoin, in general, is neither inflationary or deflationary as what may be construed by most people. Also, the transaction fees depend on the price of bitcoin in the market. If its price increases due to volatility, then expect transaction fees to increase as well. Although banks cannot control the transactions involve in bitcoin, its decentralization eliminates the need for a third-party trust to handle our resources.
4377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto hodling as a form of gambling! on: September 15, 2019, 03:07:28 PM
<snip....>

At hindsight, people may be confused about the distinction between hodling and gambling, although they are different in nature. The results may be the same but in hodling, the risk is relatively lower compared to gambling. Not to mention, the turnover of resources is faster in gambling which has the potential of either making or breaking your whole investment.

As a general rule, hodling may be profitable depending on the amount of your capital and the amount that you are willing to risk. There are also factors that can be considered to decrease the chances of losing your money. But in gambling, relying on such luck and odds may be your only scapegoat. If the odds are against you, no matter how much you deposit, then you are really bound to lose.
4378  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I earn $1 worth of bitcoin everyday? Please help! on: September 14, 2019, 09:34:35 PM
Hello dear members!

I'm new to the world of BTC and I have started collecting satoshis through faucets but I need to earn more.

How can I earn about $1 per day through bitcoin?

There are various ways in order to earn bitcoins such as but not limited to:

  • Campaign Signatures - currently, I consider this as the most convenient way of earning bitcoins BUT you are required to contribute to the forum, as well as ranking your account as the pay increases proportional to it;
  • Investment - This may depend upon your current capital but the bigger resource you have, the bigger the returns are. If you do not have any starting capital, then I would advise that you invest at least a portion of your salary and focus on either short or long-term investment.
  • Services Section - Under the marketplace, there are users who are looking for specific services to be done (i.e. doing signatures, providing specific services, etc.) and they pain via bitcoin or cryptocurrencies depending on the agreed terms. If you think you have the necessary skill to render, then try looking under it; and
  • Gambling - Although I highly advise against this method, you also have the option to test your luck if you feel like today is your lucky day! Be aware of the risks involve as you may drain all your cash in the sink.

I just want to specifically point out that this forum was made in order to help and support newbies who are relatively new to the cryptocurrency world. If you came here with the mindset of just earning money, you will definitely have a hard time earning such. Your first priority should be contribution and the by-product would be the support you garnered in the forum.
4379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Sport Has Many Gambling Supporters (State Your Opinion) on: September 14, 2019, 08:49:10 PM
This question actually depends on the country on which sport they support. To give you a specific example, the Philippines is leaning towards the sport basketball and boxing, as compared to other countries who gamble more on football or any other sport beside the ones I mentioned.

Another thing also to consider is the amount of people who participate in such sport. Football has been famously known for supporters all throughout the world and the number of fans compared to any other sport is significantly higher. These facts alone conclude that football may be the most famous in both sport and choice for gambling.

4380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still excited when there is news about the real Satoshi coming up on: September 14, 2019, 07:58:03 AM
There is now a lot of news about Satoshi Nakamoto coming up or uncovered are you still excited every time there is news about new discovery on who Satoshi Nakamoto is and his whereabouts.

We have fed by so many lies about this Nakamoto pretenders some of them are good storyteller some of them might be true I have a hard time analyzing the best version of the story.

To be honest, with various stipulations among people claiming to be Satoshi, I felt desensitized and the hype went down. Before, I was really looking forward in knowing about the creator who created millionaires and provided opportunities for for people among all the classes of society but I suddenly felt that I need not to know him.
If he ever unfolds his identity to the world, then this would indirectly affect cryptocurrencies and on how we understand them.
