I wish we had something like this https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-walletSeparated between "mobile", "desktop" and "web" clients along with recommended "easy" install clients all located on the home website of the crypto(bitcoin). Could add things like Requires Java or not too. We could always say for now "recommended for beginning users" and then link to whatever client we decide on. When I started to look at bitcoin the reason I didn't give up right away was because that website gives everything so simple and easy to understand basically anyone would be able to understand how to start bitcoin up. I chose multibit when I first started because it said easy to use... as a new user I didn't even know how to get Bitcoin let alone hold it somewhere. Didn't hear of Coinbase, etc. till I read a forum, didn't hear of any of these wallets till I read the main Bitcoin site. K.I.S.S.

I'd prefer a video wherei could see some nxt shareholder balance oh, i already saw that in fact Are you referring to my video? Where can you see NXT balances? http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=34Top 2 accounts are early stakeholders. #1 is inactive, the #2 is more active and is willing to help fund NXT committee's if things get done, #3 is an exchange, etc. etc.. The rest is spread between exchange accounts (DGEX, BTER, Vircurex, etc.) and regular investors in NXT. If you were in NXT early on, you would see the distribution has been great(don't remember seeing anybody with less than 10+M NXT in the first few weeks there).

Is it pronounced "next" or "N-X-T"?
"Next" but the name of the currency is NXT

What are our key target groups? Define at most three.
1) Remittance: 550 billion dollar market which is currently monopolized by Westernunion with it's 12.5% fees.
2) Gambling: the vast majority of Bitcoins market is gambling due to there being restrictions in several countries, denying it's citizen the right to spend their money on gambling games.
3) Silkroadish: regardless of what you think about it, Silkroad basically made Bitcoin and I am not advocating anything illegal, marijuana is legal several places now. (This gives media attention more than anything)
Bonus: 4) Libertarian types who hate all things regulated.
No offense here, but if the vision of NXT is to appeal primarily to the gamblers and "silkroadish" types, I'll probably need to bow out of my marketing responsibilities. I didn't participate early in Bitcoin because of reservations about such things and saw in NXT and the community a phenomenal opportunity to create positive change in the world. I've given a huge effort because I believe in the layers of NXT that set it apart and make it a true 2.0. But, I won't be able to participate with the same enthusiasm if the road we're going down turns out to be different than what I thought. No judgement here, just my point of view. Agree I don't want it to be "back-alley" type of thing. I believe in NXT for all its layers and it's use as a payment system. Which is why I invested in it.

Well that is ~$1 and you have 219'934 Nxt in your account Sick == the most unprofitable coin ever where forging isnt even an incentive for securing the network...?! Isnt nxt forging completely flawed? which is why we will see things like nodecoin v2.0 and stuff in the future to give incentive to help secure the network. For the people that want to gain something by doing it. Forging is a good-deed. I do it because it costs little power and I am helping to do good for NXT. God I dislike forging. My hundreds of thousands of Nxt earn wizen peanuts in stake as well, my VPS costs me way more to contribute to the network than I can earn. We are just those who host the network for the greedy 50M+ stakeholders forging all the blocks. I have to rethink this, considering that I really love(d) Nxt. remember there are no new coins being minted. Such as those in Peercoin, MINT, etc. where they haven't hit there max supply which is why you gain "stakes". NXT forging is based on transaction fee's that happen in the network. More transaction's being placed = more blocks with 1< NXT inside of it. Also there is only 2 accounts (based on the blockchain) with more than 50+M NXT, much less compared to the early days.

well if nobody listening this will hurt a little, dont blame me.... down we go!
I know I'm going to regret responding to this, but it's my first day off in weeks and I'm feeling particularly Ghandi-esque: I, for one, encourage your big dumps and would love other large stakeholders (real or imagined) to sell like crazy as well. The lower the price, the more attractive it is to new people, and the more distributed the tokens become. So... thanks! Yup. It allows allows for people that do trade some arbitrage between exchanges

Since client 0.0.3 I am having issues with the browser (firefox) I have manged to enter my account via the browser interface using this address http://127.0.0.1:7875/I notice that it isn't using https as it used to with older versions, is this correct? I have stopped forging while i get this question answered. Jean stated for the 0.8.0 clients and up. SSL(https) is disabled by default. SSL can be enabled for both the API server and the UI server (default disabled). If this is done, the corresponding ports will accept https requests only. There is no way currently to have both http and https supported at the same time, but this can be added, I just didn't see the need for it. If you enable SSL, you need to set nxt.keyStorePath and nxt.keyStorePassword, and obviously you need to have your own SSL certificate (self-signed or signed by a CA) in a keystore file. I have only tested this with a self-signed certificate.
