LOL!!!  So many people working so hard to prove that Middlecoin sucks. Roll Eyes

If you think Middlecoin sucks, or you're not happy with your returns, or you just think you could do better on your own, then go.  Find your crypto-coin chimera.  Stop wasting your time plotting little graphs, building spread sheets, and drawing little stick figures (yeah, I made that one up) and sally-forth.  Set sail into the great unknown and find your fortunes and may the wind be at your backs . . .

. . . just stop WHINING.  It's so . . . jejune.  Grin

Do what you think you must.  As I said, I haven't given up yet.

This thread just gets more entertaining every day.   I'm about to run out of popcorn.

There's more melodrama than a cheap matinee B-movie.

Funny thing, regardless of all the hysteria, I have more bitcoin today than I did yesterday and all I had to do is keep my computers running and connected . . . something I've been doing for a long, long time . . . for nothing.

Y'all just continue to run about, screaming, whining, complaining, threatening, accusing . . . and "just generally carrying on cranky.*"  It's a lot more entertaining than a soap opera.

I don't know, maybe I'll be the guy turning out the lights, but I haven't completely given up on artos, yet.  I'll only note that, for all the hoopla and crowing, the TIPS mixing service remains not ready for prime-time.  It appears that in execution, the principle is not as simple as in theory.

Artos seemed quite confident that it was a relatively simple thing to do, yet here we are still awaiting word of a beta, and invisibel's system is still on IRC and they still appear to be stumbling around in the dark on that forum thread.

I see no reason to sell out now, and if the price drops more, I may pick up a few k more.  Even if TIPS works out, I'm not convinced that an SBC with a mixing service won't remain viable.

Profits are definitely going to be lower due to the Mt. Gox folderal.  That big 14% dip (ignoring the spike) took a chunk out of all the coins' values.  CoinWarz most profitable coin is only showing ~$10/mh/day  Cry
446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - www.middlecoin.com on: February 07, 2014, 03:23:13 PM
Yeah, I have averaged only 0.018/mh/day for the past 19 days, what a ripoff!  Grin

Trouble is though matey, Not everyone has seen that amount, In fact I would say most are a lot less than that.
Well, "matey," the rate of return varies all the time.  This last week, my average is about 0.011.  That's how this game goes, some days are up, some are down.  Bitching and moaning about it won't change it.

Today, BTC dropped to its lowest level since the big crash, that means ALL coins are going to be down considerably today.  However, it promises that in the near term, growth opportunities will abound.

The daily returns are only marginally important, it's the overall average that wins the day.

What an awful pool!
I just sit here do my regular daily work while some guy manages for me and sends me btc every night!
Just plain terrible, I am pointing my rig elsewhere! Probably will wait to go to the moon with DOGE or something.

Yeah, I have averaged only 0.018/mh/day for the past 19 days, what a ripoff!  Grin

Good idea!  I suggest all of you know-it-alls start your own pool and show h2o how to do it.  Afterall, he's only been running the most successful, most profitable multipool around . . . you guys should school him . . . LOL!!!

I also applaud the suggestion that all of you whiners move your workers to another pool.  Great idea!!!

The rest of us will just sit here watching our balances grow from the generally excellent job h2o is doing and laugh at all of you who think they know how to run a pool better than him. Roll Eyes

The problem lies with you.  You have unreal expectations, yet you expect everyone to meet them.

Yes, people don't have control over what they type. They can't help it.

There is a certain level of language that is accepted in normal internet INTERCOURSE, and while you may find some of them personally offensive, that is your problem, not the problem of those indulging in the use of those words you find objectionable.

Do I wish that the level of discourse on the internet was higher, but however much I may wish it, I don't expect others to conform to my wishes.  If it offends you and you are unable to ignore it, as most people do when something offends their sensibilities, then don't read the thread, or go elsewhere.

Your whole argument rests on the fact that other people lack self control of some kind. If making personal attacks aren't acceptable, for example, then people made a decision to not accept that behavior. Why can't references to "gang-bang" also be deemed unacceptable?

The most certain means of attracting foul and/or objectionable language or behavior in a universe as filled with socially inept, immature, isolated, nerds, like most of us (I include myself in that crowd), is to voice your objections to it.

Most people understand this fact and thus ignore whatever offends them rather than express their objections.

The people lack self-control argument so never say anything. I hope you read what you type.

Oh yeah, BTW the word originally used, "banged," has far more common associations that have nothing to do with sex.  I suggest that your reaction implies the presence of your own personal demons and perversions.

The first thing I think of when I read of people being "banged," is that they are being hammered, pounded, physically struck, not that they are being "raped."

The word wasn't "banged". It was "gang-banged".

I am sure when people read "gang-bang" they think of a car being banged in the parking lot.
Now, please continue with your holier-than-thou act.  It's very entertaining.  Not terribly relevant, but entertaining, nonetheless. Smiley

You were telling us all how you will change the entire internet . . .

The hilarious thing is that the request wasn't even directed at you and yet you feel threatened.

Oops, I see I misread that.  It does say "gang banged," which of course does mean "rape." [Thanks to Stanr for highlighting my error]

453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN: WORLD FIRST COIN MIXING FEATURE] 0.56 HARD FORK UPDATE! [TIPS] FedoraCoin on: February 05, 2014, 03:35:38 PM
Guys watch Vertcoin (VTC) , is a great Crypto but no revolutionary, is very similar to litecoin
From  1st February 2014 with Kimoto Gravity Well algo implemented , the market cap increased 25 times , from 400k to 10M , so...
I can't wait , we have also killer feature (mixing) .

i invested in vtc..i even told someone in this thread to invest in vtc when a guy was complaining about multipools raping this coin..it was .0005btc back then.

I just wanted to say
The VTC while being a good coin, but  are nothing comparable with Fedora, I mean ... Mixing node and  500B coins, could be worth hundreds of millions dollars or billion in few years.
If anyone will implement this feature before 2-3 months, Fedora will make history.
There is NOTHING on the Vertcoin webpage about any mixing service.  It may be a good coin and ASIC resistant, but no mixing AFIK.

I was looking at the 1024 diff...and while people say it doesnt affect gains, it does slow the shares...

so when we are doing low dificulty coins what happens when a new block is found? i have to start calculating again and loose what i had done?

if its happening like this...its affects gains.

Yep.  Another person who has no idea how difficulty works...

Sad.

Difficulty could be 50,000 and it wouldn't affect gains in the long-term.  Unfortunately, the majority of the people on this thread think that "long-term" means 6-12 hours.

Difficulty affects VARIANCE, it does not affect gains.

Learn what difficulty does first, then try to complain Smiley

Can you direct me to some literature? all i could find is that the pool dificulty affects variance but on long term the gains are the same. couldnt find any explaining how it works at all.

What i understand is that with higher dificulty you get lower shares per minute that are worth more, maintaining the gains.
but what happens when a block is found? doesnt my worker starts hashing from beggining loosing some time from previous share?
Please feel free to direct me to a good reading.
You could start with the FAQ.

Anyone else showing middlecoin.com is down?
Nope, but there is a tweet there which says to access the webpage, you must append www.
456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: February 05, 2014, 12:54:59 PM
Overall return just hasn't been that great this week.  I missed two payouts, because my balance was too low, so over 4 days @ 0.064 = 0.0114/mh/d.

Sort of an lower week,  I did, however lose half of my hashing power for a total of about 12 hours during that period, so that would give me a theoretical of 0.0129/mh/d.  That's a little below average for the rest of my experience here.

. . . but then, profits vary with coin prices, difficulties, etc. so unlike some of the unreasonable people here, I expect to get a variable rate of return.  This week not so great, next week better.  It's what rational people understand.

457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: February 04, 2014, 10:36:31 PM
I find it humorous that people who have no idea how difficulty or mining in general works, are acting as if they have the first clue about how to fix the complex issues that h2o is working on.

This thread is golden.  One of my absolute favorites to read on a daily basis.
Heh!  Yeah, everyone of them "experts". . . "if only h2o would do what I say, then, THEN Middlecoin would be really fantastic." Roll Eyes

Funny how none of these self-annointed "experts" never start their own pool.  Certainly with their superior knowledge and ideas, they would shut Middlecoin down simply due to the number of those currently mining on this pathetic pool instantly migrating to their much superior pool.

LOL!!!!

Whiners and Know-it-alls . . .

Pass the popcorn, wouldja?
