441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Hawaiicoin - Own a Slice of Paradise on: March 30, 2014, 06:54:56 AM

I've been mining on your site for several hours with regularly accepted work and am having the same problem. Have yet to be credited for any work. Not sure why I haven't given up on this coin already, except that I live in Hawaii and would like to see it successful.  Sad

I just logged into http://pool.privanon.com/hic/ and withdrew my confirmed balance. It actually hit my wallet. I have one rig on that pool, so far so good.

Well, I've had one machine back hashing there for the last ~hour and have barely made 200 -- which was very inconsistent with the block estimates.  etc-auto.ru just accepts work and seems to pocket the results.

Was a nice idea, but I'm out. I can't waste any more electricity on this at $0.40/kwh.

Glad you got something.

March 29, 2014 4:10pm Hawaii Time:

Privanon Pool is back online.  They have almost 300,000 HIC coins in the wallet ready to be claimed by the miners who were logged into their accounts yesterday.  VegasGuy....you were rockin hard with 15MH/s my friend!  They have resolved the database block errors and will have stratum working soon.

Also, solo mining still working.  I've been so busy with this launch I'm the last to get my hands on some HIC.  Can someone send a few my way so I can check out if my wallet is working?  1n5mTnx8kK8U63mBro66cwqP1Unmausg7  Show some love for the people involved with launching the coin?

Should I see a balance when I sign into the Privanon pool? I used that as my primary pool most of the time last night (and unfortunately up until noon Hawaii time when I checked it today and found it was down).

FYI, I've been mining for about four hours on the incpool.etc-auto.ru pool and while it's accepting my work it has yet to show me any un/confirmed balance.

I just sent you 250.
444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Hawaiicoin - Own a Slice of Paradise on: March 29, 2014, 10:37:48 PM
I'm trying to use http://pool.privanon.com with no success.

cgminer log:

 [2014-03-29 14:15:59] pool 0 JSON stratum auth failed: [
   -1,
"error 26 from memcached_get on localhost:11211: Operation now in progress",
   null
]

Naturally this happened right after I went to bed and since the problem prevented failback to the next server I ended up wasting several hours of *very* expensive electricity on nothing.  Sad

what wallet download address?

http://hicoin.org/

Make sure to get the config file info from the site. Off to a rough start, but the wallet is working for me now.

So far, seems like all of the pools are down...

Well.

Almost half an hour before I could finally connect to a pool, now 1.5 hours in and I have a grand total of 653 unconfirmed on Hardcoreminers and 135 unconfirmed on poolest.  Now the difficulty is almost 1,000,000.

The launch was more of a faceplant, at least for me.

Sorry to hear it. It was pretty smooth for me. I think he bounties are still open, which actually reminds me. I need to figure out how to add my signature.

Thanks.  Glad it went well for you, and I saw your earlier post and I'm glad I was able to help you get up and running.

Time to go do something actually productive so I haven't completely wasted my afternoon.

Does the OS X wallet support the -datadir  option like most wallets?  I normally use a custom folder location and I can't get the wallet to use it.

It looks like it should:

https://github.com/bonuscoin/bonuscoin/blob/5cb79701f833344ba397ee4877c532ade143a00f/src/init.cpp

You're right, it looks like it should. Definitely not working for me, though.  Running it on a Mac with 10.8.5 and it runs normally except it uses the default folder location.

---

I switched to Hardcoreminers and it's accepting work and showing estimates per block but nothing is showing under confirmed or unconfirmed.

Seems to be going smoothly for everybody else. I registered and switched back and forth between 5 different pools for 20 minutes before I could get one that wasn't dead.

Now I'm on Poolest and it's accepting my work but not showing any estimated payout or unconfirmed on the dashboard, and the pool stats show estimated 0 per day for me and the other workers.  Am I wasting my time?

I’m sorry about cross-posting, but I saw the announcement on another forum first and posted there. I just found this forum and it seems more active, so I thought I might get an answer here. I just purchased an ANT miner that should arrive later this week. I'm smart enough to know I need to find SHA256 currencies, but I'm not exactly clear on how to mine a coin. I know I need to wait to download your client, but don't I need a configuration file of some sort? All of the other coins I’ve looked at mentioned a configuration file, but I didn’t see one listed in your announcement.

Thanks!

Cryptzilla,
I'm assuming you've done GPU mining before and are familiar with pools.  If so, you shouldn't have much problem getting up and running.

Once you've done the initial setup of your Antminer (S1, I'm assuming) you basically just need to register with the pool, add a worker, and then copy/paste the URL, worker username & password into the web interface for the Antminer.

The initial setup is pretty straightforward and then after that, switching pools to mine a new coin is really easy.

I'm thinking about recording some video lessons on setting up and using an Antminer S1, but those wouldn't be posted to my site until April sometime.  Here's a link to the setup instructions I followed when I got mine a couple of weeks ago:

http://www.rubicite.com/Tutorials/AntMinerS1Tutorial.aspx

Hope that helps, and happy mining!

Question:  I have just updated to the new version of the Mac wallet and I noticed the new button for locking/unlocking the wallet.  I haven't locked it, yet the button is labelled "Unlock" --- but is greyed out so I have no way to click it.

Not sure if this means it is currently locked and so can't do POS, or if it hasn't been locked and the button is just mislabeled.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Only if your wallet is locked, then the "unlock wallet" button will be enabled. Otherwise don't worry, you will mine pos blocks automatically

We received so many question regarding pos recently. Also from ecoiner.org http://ecoiner.org/newbies/question-kept-paid-1312/
I updated FAQ hope it helps.

OK, that's what I figured; I'm familiar with how POS works from Mint and other coins. It just was the first wallet I remember seeing with an unlock button, so I figured I'd double-check it worked the way I expected from other coins. Thanks.

He give me 1000 BTC negative trust for what?  Sad

If you look at his recent posts he's going from thread to thread doing it to everyone like a petulant child.

I can't help but feel sorry for people like that who only can (briefly) feel good about themselves by tearing other people down.  Must be terrible to be trapped in that sad world view.

Glad you seem to have gotten your rep fixed, anyway.

cryptobuddy, I'd like to respectfully point out to you that if you have a problem with the coin and don't want it around, then constantly posting in the thread is only going to raise awareness of it and bring more miners and buyers by pushing it to the top of the forum posts.

So the more you post, even in obnoxious giant red letters, the more free publicity you're bringing the coin.   Just a thought...

Ok guys...let's start from here...
With a solid base.
Hey all you, who were aboard from the beginning? Where are you? Please give some signs of life in this thread. Make it something good.

Edit: Does anybody know, how to get MOON onto https://www.coinpayments.net ?

Edit 2: Seems that a placement at coinpayments does not make any sense:

https://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php?/topic/6655-coinpaymentsnet-shutting-down/

FYI, according to their site, Coinpayments is not shutting down anymore -- they sold the business to someone in the community who has all of the paperwork they need to satisfy the new regulations.

Coins can be requested on this page (see the status notice at the top of the page)
