441  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which mining pool and why? on: February 06, 2013, 09:20:15 PM
Slush and BTC Guild offer merged mining. Pick your poison. BTC is PPS and the pool takes the risks for long blocks. Slush is round based score based to prevent pool hoping, lower fees, and they share the block fees with miners.

Both have been around forever and both use stratum protocols once you get your miner online.
442  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Trojan Wallet stealer be careful on: February 06, 2013, 05:37:46 PM
There is a (new?) trojan wallet stealer out in the wild ATM.

Plenty of script kiddies and scammers are going to be trying to get you to download and install it, what's more they'll be putting posts to do so (using lies obviously).

Don't install anything linked to on this forum, unless it's been found by someone with a good reputation to be legit. Assume everything is an attempt to steal your wallet.

You should also encrypt your wallet when not in use.

If these work I'd buy one....

-5 for mineral oil cooling

Mineral oil cooling? Just put a fridge in the room with the door open. I thought we covered this!

Wont work I've tried this, you burn out the fridge, they are designed for short brief operation not continual use. best cooling I ever did was Oil/Water heat exhange to my ground water well, oil was pumped through a radiator in had piped down to the well, and pump pushed the heated 30-55c mineral spirits back at about 0-10c dependent on flow and rate and season.
444  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: ASIC and beyond on: February 04, 2013, 07:15:58 PM
I am banking on Quantum computing and investing in something that might become public int he next 18 months </serious>

D-Wave One look it up..... There is a start up in California that will publicly lease time on the machine they are buying, and something about a 512 qubit chip.

The Current product is a 128quibit, currently can slam out proteins folding pretty fast, someone said in an article 13/100,000 in 45 mins, and the new chips will be 512 qubits 1,000 times faster than 128 qubits

Dependent on the price of BTC, and the numberof correct blocks you can solve, in what amount of time it takes to do it!

Slush your Graph lists yesterday as 1.1.2013...... are we doing time travel?

Really? Can you send a screenshot? User's daily reward is not rendered if you stopped mining, but System daily reward graph looks up to date for me.

If i look back every month on my charts is like this 30.11.2012  1.11.2012 2.12.2012

453  Economy / Goods / The NYC Shop on: January 29, 2013, 06:53:28 PM
Hi guys,

I've been on here for a bit, and I'd done a few trades with people.

Here is my preposition, I live in the states, I am fortunate to live in a place that is a nexus of goods.

My family (cousins) grew up in the Czech Republic, and i remember at Christmas every year sending them American luxury goods; Levi's Jean, Nike sneakers, Snickers bars, Marlboro Cigarettes, and Reese's. (and at on point a very early IBM PC)

When my brother was deployed, weekly shipments to him consisted of; Skittles, AA batteries, US Magazines, and CD/DVDs releases.

So I am no stranger to shipping and navigating customs.

I am more then willing to ship anywhere (Via UPS/DHL/EMS); for 1BTC for all packages under 1kg and 2BTC For all packages under 5kg, Over 5kg shipping needs to be negotiated

I will also purchase the items from any retailer you designate, going to a store if i have to to pick up for you even.

I live in NYC I have access to EVERY MAJOR Designer in the US. Just ask.

Send me a PM with the items requested, and I will respond with the best price I can get for the item in BTC/USD

The catch;
Escrow for the value the products before purchase.
If tax needs to be paid at purchase I will cover the tax.

454  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Batch #1 Ships on: January 29, 2013, 06:01:07 PM
Begin to calculate:
Avalon have get $60 for shipping from customer!
That's never enough for this 20-30 (?) kg Box for international shipping!
The costs with DHL or EMS are min. $250.-/unit!

Means 300units x $190(dif) = $57'000.- extra cost for Avalon! (even higher!)

I think, Avalon still looks for cheaper shipping routes, because they don't have the money for shipping!
And by the cheap shippers you dont't get tracking numbers! (But the boat needs 2 month to EU or USA  Wink )

Umm...you're suggesting they couldn't be bothered to calculate actual shipping charges before now AND they're too embarrassed to admit this so they're instead shipping $1300 ASIC devices internationally by canoe?

Color me skeptical.

455  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Avalon ASIC] Batch #2 pre-Sale Thread on: January 29, 2013, 05:39:39 PM
My bet would be on a fast sell-out of batch 2, regardless.

I will pay $10,000 for the list of names, their addresses, and phone numbers of each and every person who orders Batch #2 from Avalon. This is a sincere offer. No bullshit! I'll put together a deal they can't refuse, only available to those on the list.

  • Bitcoin Only: My suppliers only accept bitcoins. Sorry 'bout this one.
  • No Refunds: I have to fully custom built this shit from chicken scratch.
  • No Proof: QED!

I just purchased shares of Bounty, for when Josh sees this thread he'll be squirtin' his computer, and will need mega-sheets to absorb the mess made.

Madness!

Thanks a whole lot for the visual PG.

These things once read cannot be unread ya know. Cry

This is why I used my AMEX... they are no bullshit about taking back funds
456  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Ships on: January 28, 2013, 11:05:30 PM
I should probably say Jeff's unit, I paid about ~$400 USD to "get it out of the country", so it is definitely on it's way and I'm sure it'll arrive before this week ends assuming there's no problems with US customs.

Again, only a matter of time.

At this Point I will pay $2500 for a unit in my hands by Feb 1

I've got a 1999 Lincoln Continental with about 85,000 miles. I'm looking to replace it with something getting better gas mileage.

Engine - 4.6L V-8
Power - 275 hp @ 5,750 rpm
Transmission - 4-spd auto w/OD
MPG - 17 City / 25 Hwy
Curb - 3,868 lbs.

Spacious, leather interior, heated seats, sunroof, the works...

Minor superficial issues associated with age, otherwise in good condition.

Looks exactly like this:

Would be in the NJ/Philly/NY area. I'm in Jersey.

You guys think anyone would even be interested? Maybe one of you rich dudes with a fat wallet.dat?
