Please let the news be that he's hired a good Customer Service staff, and they are to start working immediately.

Suuure... If the whole team is so dumb that they haven't understood this by now (just hire a couple of students with some English skills!), why would you expect them to suddenly see the light?
442  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 08, 2013, 09:24:59 PM
Seriously, why you not posted this in Speculation thread?
I mean what responces to expect here  Wink

Maybe he expected tons of comments like "Oh, The Great Asic Guru, thanks God you are alive! You are so kind to announce news after a month of silence. Where can we send our coins to reserve some of your fantastic 2nd gen chips?"
443  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 08, 2013, 08:58:35 PM
Can we just wait to hear what he has to say and keep the comments to zero.

On behalf of those watching/notifying this thread lets keep the noise ratio down please

Nope. This thread needs more drama, butthurt, wild ass speculation, accusations, rumors, coke and hookers. Let's party!

If you were dead, I would have a tiny bit of respect for you.   Being alive and treating your customers like crap just demonstrates what a royal fucking asshole with no face, you are.

+1
It's better to be a dead man than an alive talking piece of shit!

Because YiFu doesn't deal directly with TMSC, he deals with someone that deals with someone that deals with someone else.  He probably pays three times what they actually cost from the fab, and someone else in the process makes sure that twice as many chips get produced, etc...

I remember he told on a video that one must know people (have personal contacts) in China to make business. Now it turns out that he actually doesn't. Instead, he knows people who know people who know people.
445  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 08, 2013, 06:35:13 PM
No big fish needs to pre purchase them. Anything you get made in China will be stolen - i.e., the people who work in the facility WILL make extra of your product once you give them the design. So, Yifu gives this Chinese company the design, and orders 2 million... they will run off 2 million for Yifu and 1 million for themselves and not pay Yifu anything for it. That is why when you go to China you can purchase brand name clothing without the brand tag for like 60% off the msrp.

You have to expect that the hash rate will go up much more than the theoretical from the nominal chip orders alone due to this. When you get something made in China you are pretty much guaranteeing that your product design will be infringed upon and your tech stolen.

Well, that's a well-known fact about China-based manufacturing. But seriously, I refuse to believe that TSMC is into it as well. They're not a garage-based assembly line powered by biorobots who work for food, but a world-leading semiconductor company. How could they produce extra chips for themselves?

He still alive after all the 5 gram rocks and $2000/hr hookers.

Strange that no one mentioned this in previous 10 pages.

Just got off the plane, expect lots of news tomorrow.

Nobody gives a fuck about your "lots of news".
The only anticipated news is order tracking info and compensation for the delays.

Translation
5 boards are hashing, software is being optimized, it's 2.9GH per chip now.
After testing of the boards, the rest thousands of boards will be printed until the next week. Components will be soldered the next week.
Cases are not custom and are selected from available ones.
They're not going to optimize them further from 2.9 to 3 GH/chip. Software tuning instructions will be provided. Everyone understands that 2.9GH now is better than 3GH in 2 weeks.

Roll Eyes
449  Local / Барахолка / Re: [Предзаказ] Bitfury ASIC 65nm on: August 07, 2013, 01:26:46 PM

From what I understand (I could be wrong), wine should be installed through macports as 64 bit, which should be able to run 64bit or 32 bit exes without any other input. I've tried using the WINEARCH and WINEPREFIX flags, but they don't change the outcome:
$ WINEARCH=win64 WINEPREFIX=~/.wine64/ wine jhPrimeminer [args]
Gives the same error even when the wine prefix dir is a new directory.

I had had similar problem with previous x64 builds on Ubuntu until I removed all wine packages, deleted all its prefixes and built latest wine from source. Looks like something was broken in wine installation.

452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM]unofficial jhPrimeminer thread on: August 07, 2013, 01:04:44 AM
Really, slower than v4? Maybe it's setting related?

Running both with default settings. Tried tuning settings on v4 before but never found anything significantly better than default. Performance varies much depending on number of processes/threads.
453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM]unofficial jhPrimeminer thread on: August 07, 2013, 12:17:25 AM
Hi folks!
What about a new version?
V6 - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1189851/jhPrimeminer-GMP-v6.zip
Changes:
1. Initial Auto tuning related to L1 cache size. It takes about 4 min after the minder was started. For some configurations can double the seeped.
2. Keyboard shortcuts for those that likes to play with the numbers.
3. Round sieve percentage - Similar feature that was introduced in mikaelh's hp8 primecoin client. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=255782.0
Basically the parameter sets how much time is spent in the sieve and how much time is spent on checking the candidates produced by the sieve.

Enjoy.

Edit: Both the miner and the mpir.dll Compiled with AVX flag - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1189851/jhPrimeminer-GMP-v6-AVX.zip

x2 slowdown compared to v4 on all my Opterons running Ubuntu Sad
Will you upload the source to github? Maybe I have to compile it with /favor:AMD64

How do I redeem an M+S pair? Do they have to be sent to DeprivedMining?
455  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICs group buy (CLOSE) on: August 06, 2013, 12:03:39 PM
Hello, any news from Metabank? Can we expect devices to be shipped at the start of September?

Chips have been delivered. They already have several prototype boards and still hope to start shipping in early September. However, given the history of the market, I would rather expect them in October.
456  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: August 05, 2013, 09:09:27 PM
Actually more of a gut-feeling then anything else. It just seems that with the current dividend payment schedule and the so far continously over-estimated ASIC delivery power for at least the next month or two (Avalon shipping late, BFL not shipping fast enough etc) I just don't see a perpetual 20% increase in short or long term. I think people tend to underestimate the downward force that diff increases apply to hash-power rollouts over time.

Imagine 250TH BFL + 250TH Avalon chips + 250TH Bitfury + 250TH KNC + 250TH AsicMiner (total about 5x diff) in 3 months + the rest and plans like AM's 1PH in next months. Now check http://bitcoinx.com/profit/

But you are certainly right in sense that in comparison to TAT.VIRTUALMINE, which is traded at 2.5BTC/GH, DMS.MINING is undervalued.
457  Local / Барахолка / Re: [Предзаказ] Bitfury ASIC 65nm on: August 05, 2013, 08:57:50 PM

458  Local / Барахолка / Re: [Предзаказ] Bitfury ASIC 65nm on: August 05, 2013, 07:12:15 PM

I credit him with that early jump in February, he will make this $200M work right

Sure! Just imagine how much first-class blow and hookers those $200M can buy!

It's a hoax that has been publiclly denied on CNBC.

Well, that changes everything! Will they deny on CNBC that they delayed shipment of 2 batches of miners and chips for months? BitSyncom keeps silence for weeks, so maybe I should watch more CNBC to find out where are the paid chips?
