441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 42-coin Development Discussion Thread | trade on LiveCoin.net! on: May 31, 2017, 06:53:28 PM
I think it's fair to keep the spare 1 coin for further development, this project must not die.

I agree too!

I agree totally with you. Reserving 1 of 42 is a great idea to reserve some funds for development.
Anyway, everyone had enough time to swap, so if they did not make it, it's their problem.

Also agree on keeping the 1 42 coin sounds good for development.

think that creating a Fund with 10% would not be a bad stepping stone for the development and for the financial stability of the platform

Thank you for your opinions. By the way, 1 coin is only 2.38%.
442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 42-coin Development Discussion Thread | trade on LiveCoin.net! on: May 31, 2017, 11:45:48 AM
Six months have passed since the swap began - enough time for everyone to exchange their coins.
During this period there were exchanged 79.44916 (62.76126432 burned, 9.97228062 stuck on Cryptopia, 6.71561506 sold out) old 42 for 39.72458 new 42. 1.27542 new 42 were spent. Currently we have 1 new 42 left. I decide do not swap the last coin but left it for the future development. What do you think? Are there any objections?

Where does it say that? I couldn't find anything in the latest news page.

https://www.livecoin.net/en/news/list

They should make important announcements like hardware issues on the news page.

This is from a private conversation. Due to this issue the exchange was unavailable for 6 hours today (instead of 50-60 minutes).

Hello
Our Exchange is under update. We notify our clients in advance via twitter.

so there is no reward for staking ?

No:
Specifications
(42-v0.0.8)

PoS reward: 0 coin // makes 42 an extremely rare
Min stake age: 42 hours
Max stake age: Unlimited
PoS target spacing: 7 minutes
...
455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 42-coin Development Discussion Thread on: May 23, 2017, 10:18:22 PM
I don't get something, PoS and PoW rewards are 0 + tx, so basically just tx fees ? What's the incentive to make people pow mine or stake?

PoW miners gather tx fees from transactions as a reward because their work is more energy intensive, PoS miners destroy tx fees - create deflation and make the remaining coins more rare and valuable. People mine 42 to take part in this process and protect their investments.

also how much you need to stake ?

The input is mature and ready to generate the block when the CoinDay is ≥ 1. You can calculate it. For example, the input size 0.04 will be ready to generate the block in 1/0.04=25 days, 0.02 - in 1/0.02=50 days, 0.01 - in 1/0.01=100 days, etc. Minimum stake age is 42 hours, maximum age is not limited.

Also,
You can predict the exact time when each input will find the block with the "scaninput" command. Select from the wallet menu bar: Help - Debug window - Console - type "scaninput" - press "Enter" and follow the instructions. Example:

Code:
scaninput '{"txid":"00c3ecf50748b41b63a8e9931845474c9c1d6daace72bae34e1d71080b54be59", "days":30}'

Code:
[
{
"nout" : 2,
"hash" : "000005cbefc94bfc6851d95fea7f87ee58498ffc64e9973719cc1f19b433df23",
"time" : "2017-02-25 00:02:44 UTC"
},

"time" : "2017-03-17 11:47:12 UTC"
}
]

How to set up the desirable split threshold of inputs, see here.

Looks like a shitty exchange to me, but hell...all exposure and volume is welcome!  Grin

I would not rate CryptoDAO any reputable at all to be honest.
Looks pretty shady overall to me.

You are right, this is a shitty exchange in beta mode. But who knows what will happen tomorrow, they are Chinese, and there are a lot of them...  Grin

Dev, are not you confident that 100 BTC per currency is possible? I think 1000 is a sweet dream, but 100 in a little instant is not! Any news?

Of course, it is possible, but not now. As for me, stability is better than pump&dump...
They promised to add our coin this week.

While you are waiting for LiveCoin.net, 42 is listed on CryptoDAO Limited - Crypto Trade Platform, Multi Wallet and Crypto Loan Provider (Beta Version).

Markets: 42/BTC, 42/USD, 42/LTC, 42/RUB, 42/CNY.

MT4 Based PRO Webtrade Platform: 42/BTC.

Beware - Scam Accusation!

Which wallet to use, is there any difference between 42-v0.0.8-bdb-win.zip and 42-v0.0.8-leveldb-win.zip ?

Bdb is more stable and recommended in case of frequent power failure on systems with HDD, leveldb is little bit faster and perfect for systems with SSD.
