4401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If You Win Big Will You Remember Your Losses on: September 08, 2019, 06:03:04 AM
I have a friend who wins 15,000 pesos or $300 the first time keno games in an offline betting outlet, he is so happy and very ecstatic about his winnings, I congratulate him and ask him how long before he hit the jackpot, he told me that it took him 7 months and he is betting daily at 100  pesos or $3 so his losses are bigger than winnings.

But surprisingly he did not calculate his losses all he cares about is he finally wins, how about you do you remember your losses when you win a big amount and do you calculate your losses and ask if the winning is worth it?

This is one of the examples on the dilemma about gambling since what only matters are the winnings and not the losings. In gambling, it creates this illusion that someone may think that they are winning but in fact, are losing due to the accruements of money along the process.

What makes this more dangerous is that it places the individual on a pedestal thinking that they are actually lucky, which would only start the cycle of gambling.

Good topic, I don't think that most gamblers remember their losses to be honest (including me). All they think of is that they just won and that's what matter most for them. And I doubt that gamblers realised that or put their losses on paper so that they would know how much money they have lost so far.  Grin

Once gamblers start to know and account their losses, that will only be the time that their discipline will manifest. Rationalizing every win and disregarding your losses would be very dangerous especially in the long-run and streak of gambling.
4402  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Savings Vs Investment? on: September 08, 2019, 02:06:52 AM
<snip....>

Please do note that savings does not mean long-term perse, but it also includes short-term savings if for example, you are saving up to purchase land, house, or any other related item.
As we all know, inflation is the increase of general prices overtime. There has been a misconception that due to inflation, saving money would be putting it into waste. This will depend on the economic status of the country. Remember what happened to Japan that their economy is on deflation; that saving money would actually decrease its value overtime? Again, this will highly depend on the country and the status of its economic power.

Lastly, you cannot invest something without having savings. Two must exist with each other and there must be a relationship where they harmonize and work together to create a balance and just scenario.

4403  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Bakkt Exchange Launching!!! on: September 07, 2019, 05:27:56 PM
I think everyone is excited and eager to wait sa pag launch ng Bakkt Exchange as it creates a physical copy of a certificate in order to have real-time transactions. Pero yung magandang implication nito is that mas makakapag attract ito ng mga investors as it erases at least the doubt of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, in general. I think kasama din sa Bakkt Exchange yung pagiging diverse ng bitcoin bilang isang alternative payment sa mga famous cafes (i.e. Starbucks, etc.).

Kung sakaling matuloy yung Bakkt Exchange, napakagandang opportunity nito na mag-invest at mag-HODL ng bitcoin in the long-term as expected na mag-skyrocket yung price nito.
4404  Economy / Economics / Re: What are some not so obvious things that damage a country's economy? on: September 06, 2019, 07:35:39 AM
Things that damage the economy indirectly.

For example I feel that fast food and an unhealthy lifestyle leads chronic health problems that probably affects the economy not just monetarily.

Of course we can't just deny these people care, just promote a healthier lifestyle.

What are other things that we can change that will affect the economy in a positive way?

Pollution is what comes to my mind regarding indirect damage to the economy. If pollution is severe, the government would have to waste TIME and MONEY in order to address such problem, which the funds could have been used for some other lawful purpose.
Another damage would be traffic. According to CNN, traffic in the Philippines has caused more than P3.5 billion loss per day ($67 million)1. That data alone can sufficiently damage the economy of the country, considering that most third-world countries suffer from this problem.

In order to address these issues, almost all stems from the discipline of each individual. If people show their love and respect to the country, I doubt that they would do the slightest damage (such as throwing candy wrappers on the streets, etc.) that would eventually pile-up.

4405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin scammer caught tortured and killed. on: September 05, 2019, 09:46:05 PM
<snip...>

Regardless of the crime committed, I think no one deserves their lives to be taken as it can never be justified no matter how heinous the crime they did. Unfortunately, stealing money is as dangerous as people think it should be and this news is no different from what we see and hear everyday.

i am okay with the brutal beating and torture but not with the killing. i wish to know where that happened and what the government made as judgement for the killer. that is a lesson for scammers too, they should know they are playing on some people's temperament and intelligence. the dupe is quite huge.

Brutally torturing an individual can never be justified due to stealing or any crime committed, so I may have to disagree with your opinion. Unfortunately, it may be easy to say that it may be justified but doing harm to an individual can never be right, regardless of the circumstance.
4406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Things That Comes Into Your Mind When Winning... on: September 05, 2019, 03:08:59 PM
Lols! Now winning is just ordinary for me. Last month my net on my bettings is around $300. I just feel happy but nothing very special. If I win a lottery that would probably make me jump and shout with joy.

Anything that is consistent or constant in results can potentially render something less satisfying, especially if the results happen again at the same time. That is also the reasons on why most rich people are never satisfied with their current money. Despite having everything, they still strive to gain more (which is not a bad thing but what makes it negative is that the methods use affect mostly the general public).

Sometimes after winning, I win again. My problem is that I can not stop) Therefore, everything ends the same for me - I lose.
Yeah that’s true while winning people most of the Time thinks about gutter winning I am one of those who believe in winning and invest more once when once win huge amount. But instead of being over confident and greedy controlling emotion is good so you will again win and be positive always.

Like what I have mentioned previously, the cycle of gambling revolves around the results of the individual. Regardless if you won or lost, you will still end betting most of your winnings/losings. Self-limitation and discipline is really the key in gambling.
4407  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Burger King Accept Bitcoin on Germany [Expecting soon Nationwide] on: September 04, 2019, 07:46:33 PM
<snip....>

Pero may mga business platforms din naman ngayon na tumatanggap ng bitcoin as an alternative payment, gaya ng dragonpay which serves as a merchandiser among different products and services. Hindi impossible na mangyari ito sa Pilipinas at sa totoo lang, sana ma-implement ito slowly but surely.
4408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What your family thinks about that you into crypto on: September 04, 2019, 06:31:54 PM
Hello everyone, good morning, yesterday I had a conversation with my family about crypto(BTC if we being specific).

Im HODL for a long time now, and really believe that in the end crypto actually do fly to do moon( More about Moon:)

my family thinks its a bullshit, and think that im wasting my time and money. I try to explain it countless of times and it seems that is simply imposable for to them to understand

So, im just curious what your family/friends think about it?

This is actually an interesting topic!

I mean, in the past two (2) years ever since I started my bitcoin journey in this forum, along with my countless stories and updates about bitcoin to my family, they still think that bitcoin is another 'internet scheme' that I use to make money online. Most of them view my work as something similar to what networking is. The irony is that I never convinced them or asked them to join me but due to their ignorance they still see my work as shady.

Nevertheless, I have friends who believe and know about the existence of cryptocurrencies (bitcoin specifically) in the market and they started investing already.

My best friend told me about Bitcoin in 2017. That time the BTC price was small and I did not really want to try. However, he convinced me and we started working on ICO project as SMM managers and got a paid in crypto. After a strong BTC jump, we boosted our money and I realized that this is a great area for work and earning and now I'm here =)

When I first started here in the forum, each bitcoin was priced around $3,800-4,000 depending on the market situation. I thought that its price was consistent on that range until it skyrocketed up to $19,000 on December of the same year. Luckily, my investments were profitable and I quickly withdrew as many coins that was available at that time.
4409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: China Urges Philippines to Ban All Online Gambling! on: September 04, 2019, 05:00:35 PM
What do you guys think about China urges to ban all online gambling in Philippines?. One of their reason is that "The embassy said many of the Chinese citizens working illegally in Philippine casinos or POGOs and other forms of gambling entities are subjected to what media described as modern slavery due to severe limitation of their personal freedom and also Beijing welcomed the suspension of the issuance of new licenses for Philippine offshore gaming operations (POGO).

The scope of sovereignty of China cannot be imposed to countries who have their respective sovereignty, government, and laws. Even if China has a significant impact towards its relationship with the Philippines, I doubt that our government would succumb to their desires JUST BECAUSE the outcome is prejudicial to them. They are already too controlling and making our officials their puppet.

I hope one day that people realize the extent on how China has been manipulating most of the countries. Unfortunately, due to their economic power and influence over the market, they feel as if they are the superior country among other countries.

The issue of banning online gambling rests on our laws if our government finds probable cause to do so. This would require hefty amounts of data, statistics, and actual injury caused by online gambling, notwithstanding its economic advantage as well.

4412  Economy / Economics / Re: Differences between an investor and common man! on: August 30, 2019, 07:15:30 PM
What are the things differ from mindset of common man with investor, please share your thoughts.

IMO,investors never want to take loans for their consumption like home loan, car loan, etc then just save money and will buy the things for their needs but common man like you and me will buy the things immediately when we get the desire of it using loans but we are paying 20% of interest to those kind of loans.

An investor will always have a vision about their goals and a definite plan on how to reach them through a step-by-step process. A common man, on the other hand, lives a life where everything revolves around mundane activities. They actually have a relatively linear way of living. But what makes this fact interesting is that anyone can be an investor WITH the right amount of time, dedication, and knowledge about the market and investment.

Before becoming an investor, he was once a common man who shared the same ideals and goals. But what makes an investor distinct against the common man is having the passion and skill for earning more than they have now.

investor thinks to grow money for future , common man wont think about future they enjoy and waste money in liabilities and even they want get rich they dont want to wait for years to make money and want to get rich fast

It is not that a common man does not want to get rich but they have a linear way of living. They just do not share the same type of vision an investor does. The sky's the limit for an investor and the sky may seem impossible for a common man.
4413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All these guys claimed to be Satoshi Nakamoto ! on: August 30, 2019, 04:05:36 PM
It's really funny to see how many people are claiming they are Satoshi Nakamoto !

I thought that there are only a few people, but it turned much more people after doing my research.

For more details, watch this video : https://3speak.online/watch?v=clixmoney/gjrjfdvu

Well anyone has the freedom to claim that their Satoshi! I mean, who does not want to be Satoshi Nakamoto? On the contrary, they are putting themselves the risk of being hijacked or kidnapped if ever SOMEONE actually believed their claims.

Over the years, there have been few posts about knowing the real identity of Satoshi Nakamoto. Many have been speculating and making guesses about his identity but I think people should move on about this information and focus on stuff that would contribute more to the blockchain or cryptocurrencies in general.
4414  Local / Pilipinas / Re: May tax ba ang Cryptocurrency? on: August 29, 2019, 11:55:22 PM

I mean tax evasion.
Share your thoughts and experiences, hirap kasi na parang ilegal tong ginagawa natin dahil wala naman talagang batas ukol dito

4415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you guys started to gambling with cryptos or fiat money? on: August 29, 2019, 11:51:53 PM
I started to gamble using fiat. That's how I learn to play different gambling games especially card games like poker.

When I became aware of crypto existence particularly btc I tried to gamble online and its interesting too just like in physical gambling.

But I never tried using fiat in online casinos.

Well they are actually the same but gambling in fiat provides you the flexibility and an array of choices among gambling sites present on the internet. On the other hand, gambling with cryptocurrency may be convenient, but I find it a waste to risk such precious resource in the market. Instead of gambling using bitcoins, I view them as investments and I invest them instead via short-term profits on day trading.

I've always gambled with fiat. I wish the more casino-like sites (more than just dice, etc.) were available to Americans.
I also like to gamble with fiat because for me fiat is good to use for gambling. Crypto should not be wasted for gambling crypto is only beneficial to hold than to use  and gaming is good to use for flat only we cannot get profit from holding our fiat but holding crypto is best use both hold crypto and gamble with fiat.

Precisely. Gambling with cryptocurrencies are relatively more expensive compared to fiat as they are limited currencies. Expect their value to skyrocket once their supply decreases while their demand increases. Gambling with fiat gives you the flexibility and freedom to gamble anywhere since there is also an option to purchase cryptocurrencies in some gambling websites.
4416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What withdrawal fee do you consider as fair in gambling sites? on: August 29, 2019, 05:22:08 PM
Personally I prefer the primedice approach: fixed low fee and in case of clogged mempool the site "take the hit".

I also accept a dynamic fee based on mempool state, or a priority approach (pay more if you are in a hurry)

What I do not consider fair is when only a huge fixed fee is proposed, like 0.001 BTC. That really discourage crypto gambling in my opinion.

One thing that avoid in gambling sites is wherein the fee is proportionate to your total cash-out value. At hindsight, one might think that the fees are low but it starts to skyrocket once you deposit cash, gamble, and withdraw in a consistent basis.
As for my standards: I only look for these two (2) specific qualifications in terms of withdrawal fee:
  • Fixed withdrawal fee and;
  • Active community and customer service
.

Without those two qualifications, I would seriously consider my decision and eventually, move on to another gambling site. But I am highly flexible when it comes to these qualifications though.
4417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what way bitcoin gets increased usage? on: August 29, 2019, 09:22:14 AM
Making resources as an alternative payment boost their reputation quickly than the other means. If people are aware that they are eligible to pay using different payment methods, this would allow them to at least attempt or try such for their personal convenience.

Cryptocurrencies, specifically bitcoin, has evolved throughout the years as an investment opportunity or as an alternative payment in purchasing goods. But this option is highly dependent on the merchants that accept bitcoin as a payment.

I remember before people were asking if Starbucks were to implement a payment option by using bitcoin as an alternative. There are lots of implications but what really stood out was making it as a platform for bitcoin's reputation and popularization around the community.
4418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I don't know how to trust a gambling site nowadays! on: August 27, 2019, 04:55:10 AM
Why nowadays when there's a gambling site that offer a bunos on your first depost it seems like scam?  Especially if the bunos is to much than your initial deposit.

And also whe all knows mostly gambling site nowadays are using KYC.  but why when there's a promising site that doesn't require  kyc it smell fishy as well?  What did happen to this world?  How to trust again on this kind of sites?

Before risking your money, it is paramount that you check and evaluate the gambling website. Consider the reviews, its history, the security, and the overall aspect of the website before putting your money.

Nowadays, it is indeed, difficult to look for a gambling website that offers all the aforementioned criteria. Scammers have been lurking these past few days with the intent to gain for themselves and enrich using the expense of others.

Some sites only require KYC for large withdrawals or deposits as well, usually with larger withdrawals in my experience. Best bet you've got is just to read whatever reviews you can find for a casino on this forum and look out for keywords like 'KYC' and 'verification' throughout the posts you do find, and to try to avoid smaller sites if possible, but in the end you could be required to submit KYC at any time.

As for bonuses, I hardly ever use them anymore because of the usually extremely high minimum wager requirements for withdrawal. I'd much rather just gamble on my own money and withdraw whenever I want to instead of once I gamble an amount the site determines.

If a gambling website requires me to add a KYC feature, I would have second doubts on it. The purpose of gambling online is for convenience and anonymity. It totally defeats the purpose while endangering yourself on the internet.
4419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I've lost on: August 23, 2019, 06:57:42 PM
I've lost big. Over the last two or three years, I've lost 60K in total. It was almost my entire savings.
It started out with a large investment in bitcoin when the price was about 13K.
When the price dropped to below 4K, I lost all hope after waiting forever and gambled it on bitcoin gambling sites trying to triple it up, just to make my money back.
I lost that and a lot more. Never imagined it turning out this way. Especially after the price went back up.
I don't have a lot of close people to turn to nowadays. It's hard to get through each day feeling horrible. Just needed to reach out somewhere.
Sorry if this isn't the place.

Well the funny thing is, when people are experience loss in a gamble, that is only the time they remember their relatives/friends or find someone to borrow money from. I am not saying that is what you are doing right now but as much as I feel bad in your situation, you know that you are the cause of your suffering. Gambling can only make someone suffer in the long run especially that the act is prone to addiction.

What you can now do is to learn from your experience and MOVE ON. Unfortunately, most people who are in your exact situation still gamble hoping to recover their losses from the activity that caused them their insolvency. Stay away from gambling and focus more into different areas wherein you can improve yourself as an individual.
4420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this how we regulate Bitcoin? on: August 23, 2019, 03:52:59 PM
The only way that bitcoin can be regulated if most of its supply is being stored/handled by the government. I cannot think of any third-party who has the authority, power, control, and resources to handle such responsibility. Not to mention, the government has the sole authority of administering justice and equality to its society. So if it were to control bitcoin, expect opportunities to open in terms of economic standing between the State and the people.

Unfortunately, if bitcoin were to be controlled or regulated, it will cease to become a highly-valued investment famous for its high-volatility. It also defeats the purpose of being decentralized so no third-party can ever alter, change, or add any information posted in the public ledger.
