4421  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin currency stability on: August 22, 2019, 02:59:42 PM
To what extent will the economic war (between the US and China) affect its future impact on the bitcoin?
Will these countries resort to bitcoin to maintain their economic strength?  And avoid economic sanctions among them?
Will Bitcoin succeed in maintaining its strength and stability as it is not under central authority?

Access to bitcoin or any kind of cryptocurrency is restricted in China. This would impact the price significantly since most miners come and originate in China. The implication would affect the future outcome and price of bitcoin considering that its acceptance is on the process of being accepted to countries.

I doubt that these countries would resort to bitcoin to maintain their economic strength, as what was stated on your argument. Although securing this type of investment may yield opportunities, economic strength can be drawn into different financial factors.

<snip....>

Feel free to add more to the list

Just to add on the list, DO NOT ever gamble if you view the act as a gateway or as a solution towards paying a debt or if you are financially struggling. Sure, there may be some that gets lucky on their games but the risk outweighs the merit at the end.

Another thing, one should always know their limitations before they gamble. Set a limit or a cap on your maximum allowable winnings/losings as this may effect on how you play your game. If you feel like that you have lost enough money, always know WHEN TO STOP and WHEN TO CONTINUE. Gambling is not an overnight process as it may take someone some time before they actually recover their losses (always subject to luck).
4423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did you ever won a huge amount on gambling? on: August 19, 2019, 05:32:58 AM
In my experiences, I already won but a little amount of BTC only betting on a boxing fight which is Pacquiao-Thurman fight.

Now can I ask you, did you ever won a huge amount of money on gambling?
Share your experience.

The term HUGE is relative depending on the circumstances of an individual which cannot be the same to all classes.

As to my experience, back when Dota 2 has KEYS as their main currency in the market (dota2lounge.com), I started with 0 keys and ended up with ~35 keys in the market due to betting to a bot. But when I slowly started losing my keys on by one, I tried betting all of my remaining keys which doubled my initial amount. From that experience, I vowed to stop and gamble with a limitation on my mind.

On the other hand, my father used to practice cockfighting as we have a farm specifically for breeding and fighting chickens. I remembered my father won around $2,000 from one fight alone and won all the remaining fights (he had a total of 5 fights).

4424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does bitcoin need to be a currency? on: August 19, 2019, 04:33:06 AM
<snip....>

According to investopedia.com1, the definition of currency is a medium of exchange for goods and services, which is usually issued by the government and generally accepted at its face value as a method of payment.
In order to satisfy the conditions of bitcoin being a currency, it must FIRST be issued by the government and SECOND being accepted as a medium of exchange of its face value.

Being decentralized and free from any control, bitcoin has a volatile and unstable price that is determined by law of supply and demand. Being a medium which is also limited in supply, the price may vary considerably when it starts to reaches its supply count. From those scenarios alone, I doubt that bitcoin would be regarded as a 'national currency' of every country.

Nevertheless, bitcoin is being used as an investment alternative which has the potential of earning large amounts of returns in a relatively short amount of time. Regardless, I personally think that bitcoin does not need to be a currency but remains as to what it is performing currently.

4425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you guys started to gambling with cryptos or fiat money? on: August 18, 2019, 05:51:08 PM
I started with fiat money, before cryptos, but only in sports bets, but after I found about cryptos I started to gambling in online casinos
And I prefer to bet with BTC, it's easier to play in any website I want

Before cryptos, it was hard to bet in my country because we have some strict laws against casinos and the IPs usually were blocked

Before cryptocurrencies were a thing, gambling with either things (of equal value) or money was the norm and the conventional method. When bitcoin slowly gained its reputation while its price increasing at the same time, people explored the boundaries of gambling by using bitcoin as the currency. Not only you gamble online (which provides convenience), you also have the option to either use your fiat or coins!

I am pretty sure most people who started gambling utilize their fiats before exploring using bitcoin. Not to mention, getting fiat is relatively easy than earning/purchasing bitcoins.
4426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The secret of gambling? on: August 16, 2019, 11:35:51 PM
After playing gambling games hundreds of times, without much effort in winning substantial profits at all, it makes me wonder what could be the secret of gambling? Personally, I find myself comfortable playing crypto-based gambling games, because of their greater level of accessibility than traditional games. I believe that gambling games which use cryptocurrencies and Blockchain tech, are much fairer than traditional ones within the mainstream world. Yet, you tend to lose more money than you've initially invested into a gambling game.

Which is why, I'm deeply curious to know if there's actually a secret within gambling that would allow me to win more than losing? Any thoughts about this will be greatly appreciated. Smiley

Again let me reiterate like in my previous posts about the nature of the subject, the only SECRET to gambling is to STOP GAMBLING. It is as easy as that! Although some people would question my stand, the only way that you WIN and prevent yourself from losing is to deviate from the practice of gambling.

Again, if there exists a method wherein you have the potential of winning almost every game, then that method would be exposed by now. Although there are claims that they have found the secret, I doubt their statement as GAMBLING is on the nature of LUCK, which anyone CANNOT ACCURATELY predict and know without cheating or tampering the game.

Thus, if you really want to win in gambling then just stay away from it and focus in different areas like your job or investment in general. Luck is the very nature of gambling and from that alone, no secret exist.
4427  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just got into BTC on: August 16, 2019, 11:21:58 PM
Hello boys, I received a big amount of money in BTC & decided to keep it instead of putting it into my bank directly.

I'm really stressed about BTC, I don't wanna lose all this money because it's a big amount for me.

I don't know what to do anymore, wether holding or getting it into tether. Help

I have two (2) suggestions:

First, keep your bitcoins by securing/getting a hardware wallet and store any amount of bitcoins depending on your discretion; and
Second, invest your bitcoins either by HODL or by diversifying your portfolio in considering the conventional methods of investment in the market.

If I were in your situation, I would keep like 51% of my total bitcoins to a hardware wallet and invest the remaining 49% into different market porftolios (i.e. stocks, bank notes, or by HODL). In this way, I have the security in ROIs in stocks (depending on the company where I acquire my stocks) and risk the remaining by short-term income.
4428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone here have some strategy to gain money, but with low profits daily? on: August 16, 2019, 10:02:29 PM
Some example, you deposit 100 USD, you use martingale method to gain at least 1 dollar (1%) and you stop, and do the same the day after

This is just a random example I made right now, but I want to see if there's someone who try to use a strategy to gain very small profits daily instead of trying with big bets

And guys, I know there's no 100% strategy, it's just curiosity

To be honest, if such strategy exists, then all people who knew of this strategy would never share it as it guarantees income despite having low margins. Regardless of your bets in gambling, whether the amount is low or high, you are dealing with the game of luck/chance. The amount is immaterial to the risks involved. Although it gives you more room to bet, the chances are still considered.

If you are really looking for a method where it involves making sure cash, then work in company since it yields you income weekly/monthly. Gambling, on the other hand, cannot render you such guarantee.
4429  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the best advice you ever heard in case of investments and all on: August 15, 2019, 07:54:03 PM
Based from my personal experience, diversifying would be my best advice for starters.

Diversifying investments makes your investments relatively secured especially if you invest in blue chip companies that yield returns in a consistent basis. Although the realization of profits may be longer, the yield is stable and secured. Another thing to consider is to purchase bitcoins and view them as short-term investments. Take advantage of their high-volatility and cash them out as soon as you see your margins increased.

What I would advise against is to do trades that are high risks with relatively low yield. Do not test the market especially if you lack the background, knowledge, and data to support your decision.
4430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the best gambling games originally from Asia? on: August 15, 2019, 02:36:51 PM
Although this may be completely different, traditional, and unorthodox, I consider small spiders fighting as one of the memorable gambling games which I believe, started in Asia. I guess that only a handful of people know what I am talking about but I do encourage everyone to watch videos and learn more about that kind of gambling. I also do hope that the practice still exists maybe in the local streets?
4431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Choose Lottery Instead Of Anything Else? on: August 14, 2019, 10:25:07 PM
Chances of winning in the lottery is around 1 out of 14 million. Although the numbers and the chances might be considerably low, the fact that people win makes it worth trying for. Unlike in gambling wherein you actually participate in each game and bet your money in a pool, the chances of winning may be higher but you are situated in an environment wherein continuous outflow of cash may happen.

Both are considered 'gambling' but participating in the lottery makes an individual deviate from the conventional gambling that has a relatively higher chance of rendering addiction. The choice is yours!
4432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Traditional Payment Processors on: August 14, 2019, 09:10:57 PM
<snip...>
Nonetheless, do you believe that there's hope for Bitcoin to beat traditional payment processors or will those same payment processors adapt to the Blockchain in the future? Huh

Yes, Bitcoin will soon replace these traditional payment processors in the future.

What the countries need to develop and adopt is a revolutionary payment method. The adoption of the Blockchain technology to this aspect may actually change on how people transact their payments. Like what other people mentioned, they may formulate their own blockchain or any related technology BUT nothing will ever compare or even come close to what Bitcoin has offered in the past few years.

I believe and believe bitcoin will be able to compete and even defeat the traditional payment process that you said. we can see for yourself that there are currently more and more bitcoin hunters, it is not impossible that in the next few years bitcoin will master it.

That could happen if all countries decide to accept bitcoin and the other coins as the new payment system method so their people can make a transaction using cryptocurrency. So far, only a few countries which accepting bitcoin and another coin for another option of the transaction but soon, I believe that we will have more countries that will approve cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency itself still grow until now, and we are seeing many new people who will adopt cryptocurrency, and they will use cryptocurrency in their daily life.
Traditional payment certainly loses because we already know that it is traditional, which means it still uses the old ways to transact. Digital payment or modern payment using Bitcoin is one of the best ways to make fast and easy transactions. It's just that the existence of Bitcoin is not widely known by people.

Adoption of this technology will inevitably happen in the future but we cannot force it if countries are not capable of adapting to this technology. The first step to adoption is being widely recognized in the world. Second step would be slowly implementing the technology and acceptance; and third would be the wild-scale production and application.
4433  Local / Pamilihan / Re: PSA: You can buy from Shopee using Bitcoin on: August 14, 2019, 08:17:18 PM
nabalitaan ko na to dati at sana gayahin nadin to ng ibang online shop, kasi hindi ko din trip mga item sa shopee, minsan na kong bumili jan at pamali mali sila ng item Undecided ganon din si lazada, which is totoo pala ung pag bumili ka ng cellphone, sabong bareta ung nasa loob.  kaya pag nag oonline ako sa aliexpress ako nabili kaso 1month delivery. Grin Grin

Hi,

upon checking the website link you provided, I noticed that it seemed to lack crucial, essential, and necessary information about the project (i.e. WhitePaper, team members and their profile links, information on the project, etc.) that will validate its authenticity. Although everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt, everyone would appreciate if you supplement those missing details.

Thanks!
4435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Things That Comes Into Your Mind When Winning... on: August 13, 2019, 05:41:04 PM
I remember the first time I tried gambling with my father and brother. When I observed that my brother risked his monthly savings in school to bet in a 50/50 chance in a cockfight and he was winning consistently, I risked my sole money that I received from my birthday and bet everything. Unfortunately unlike my brother, I never experienced winning in casinos and gambling in entirety. Due to these reasons, this led me to believe that gambling was always against me.

As for the question, I do think that if one experiences winning, the brain releases a signal which feeds your satisfaction until it becomes insatiable- thus addiction forms and progresses at this stage.

4437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin so valuable just because it was first? on: August 12, 2019, 04:10:06 PM
<snip....>

This is actually an interesting question but when you think of it, anything that has been created first is considered to be the reigning/dominant one in their respective market. But what makes BITCOIN different is that it introduced the blockchain technology. Due to the blockchain technology, it sparked and revolutionized the payment methods which caused a myriad of creations of altcoins.

My answer is Yes. Since Bitcoin became the first truly popular cryptocurrency, it allowed it to acquire a huge community, which made Bitcoin significant in the eyes of the public.
It isn't about populairty or first cryptocurrency ever have. it's about new technology about payment, when people have problem about centralization, Bitcoin came to repair using new methode.

Popularity does play a role but not the entire reason on why it is successful. If you were a revolutionary product and the first of its kind, you have the monopoly, control, and demand over the market. Popularity alone may boost your sales and attract other investors.
4438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do we need anonymity? on: August 09, 2019, 08:46:27 PM
Anonymity is not a solution for sure, rather we need transparency!! A see a lot of bitcoin maximalists people raising their voice for anonymity to sideline the banking and governance route! But that very idea will land bitcoin in big trouble. A majority of the nations are already skeptical about cryptocurrencies in general only because of its anonymous nature! More push for anonymity will harm cryptos beyond measures!

Rather, it's always better to held our heads high with pride to show we have nothing illegal. That change in outlook is needed for us to survive and thrive amidst all surveillance and regulatory concerns.

Respect and acceptance is what we need because these can gradually make the situation better for us. Revolution can stay in our hearts.

Fully agree on the statement that everything is about transparency. What the blockchain advocates is the transparency of transactions being in public to all people. No person can EVER omit, change, or add to the transactions to manipulate the people.

I listened to a discussion on TEDtalk about the basics of the blockchain and it discussed about its application on a practical perspective on products. Not only it applied a practical aspect but it also talked about the future application in processes in a business!

Going to reiterate what the person above me mentioned, do you have a WhitePaper of the current project? Also in your website, please provide all the necessary information including pictures of the current team with links to their profile, the WhitePaper, and other information that would validate the project free from scam.

Nevertheless, I wish you good luck in your project and please take note of what we have mentioned. Thanks!
4440  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling as a profession: there's people who live out of gambling? on: August 09, 2019, 04:39:55 PM
Just curious here.
I know there are tons of way to live.

but is there such a thing as professional gamblers?

people who make a living onlyout of gambling (online or on rl)?

resources and comments on that are really welcome.

In the current time, there are actually people who gamble as their main source of income (i.e. professional poker players, etc.) but I highly advise to follow the same pattern. Making gambling as your profession is like putting your whole life in a wheel, wherein the road is unpredictable with all ups and downs along the way.

For further proof, check our the present day and the people who gamble. Most of them are people who are struggling financially but still, they gamble as their last resort. Making this your main source of income may only give you a potentially dangerous life. If you really want to pursue this path, then get ready for the future as this may give you unexpected results.
