4481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will cryptocurrency soon be an alternate payment option? on: July 03, 2019, 06:37:01 PM
There are already merchants accepting cryptocurrencies as an alternative payment to their products/services depending on your local wallet provided. In fact, this option enables and attracts more customers.
Although there may be merchants present, be wary that about the government's stand into cryptocurrencies. Some countries prohibit the usage of such and this may lead into problems.

I do hope that more businesses would accept cryptocurrency as an alternative option for easily accessibility and convenience in both the consumer and the producer.

4482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Instead of Gambling Invest in the BANKROLL on: July 03, 2019, 04:52:57 PM
<snip.....>

The difference lies in the time-frame of realization of profits in bankrolls. Gambling can yield you significant amounts of money in a short-amount of time but the risk is proportional to the amount you gamble. That is the reason on why most gamblers prefer gambling than investing money. Furthermore, gambling requires a relative to no skill at all to participate whereas bankroll investing requires knowledge and experience in order to lower the risk of losing your investment.

I haven't tried that bankroll thing, and I wish I could learn that kind of in investments aside from gambling with online bets like sports betting. My friend told me about that investment at gambling sites who had bank roll system for their gambling site. I dreamed to gain full knowledge about and hope this is more profitable than playing gambling games.

Well that is the ideal situation but it would require you some degree of knowledge to participate. But in all honesty, I hope that people open their eyes in reality that gambling cannot be a profitable venture in the long-run especially if you view it as a way to answer your financial problems.
4483  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin volatility here to stay? on: July 02, 2019, 05:59:27 PM
I am a strong believer in HODL. I expected bitcoin volatility decreases as time goes by, I totally didn't expect such big price change in the past several days.

Is bitcoin volatility here to stay and not decrease?

Volatility will remain in cryptocurrencies for as long as no government entity or third-party would ever control over its production, price, and supply in the market. Since cryptocurrencies have a limited supply in the market, its price would primarily determined by the law of demand and supply.

Compared to any conventional investment methods preset, almost all of them are governed by each entity. That is also the reason on why the returns on such investment is significantly lower compared to Bitcoin but with the expense of having collateral and security.
4484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Protect yourself from Excitement and keep your Winnings Safe on: July 01, 2019, 07:08:01 PM
<snip....>

Very insightful! These tips would definitely help individuals suffering from addiction to winning. But you need to be reminded as well that everything starts from discipline and self-control. Without these essential factors, people may be more prone to betting their winnings and eventually losing them slowly. If I may add, I think it would also be beneficial if people would set a limit to their allowable bets per day and secure them on an external paper wallet.

I know what you talking about here, and let me tell you sometimes it's really hard to resist the feeling of excitement when we're in winning streak. There are just one way to keep your winnings safe, it`s to stand up and leave when you win amount you are satisfied with. Don`t set up some high goals, making maximum 50% of your amount is not a high goal, x2 and higher is a high goal, to be clear on that.

Experiencing a winning-streak satisfies the mind completely, hindering your judgement and risking everything for money albeit dangerous if you do not have any self-discipline. Knowing your goals and setting a maximum allowable bet can solve this problem.
4485  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Risks to consider before trading? on: June 28, 2019, 08:02:57 PM
1 - understand that you are in a crazy ass market

It may sound absurd but this advice is actually true. The market of cryptocurrencies is the most volatile investment compared to any other investment present today. Another thing is that no government entity governs the system of trading which makes its value volatile; perfect for short-term investments depending on your capital.

Just like any advice, study the market, consider internal and external factors, read materials to trading, etc. But experience is something that differentiates a newbie trader from a veteran trader. Make sure to maximize all reading materials before you start trading/investing.
4486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I LOST OVER 10 BTC IN GAMBLING IN 2018 on: June 28, 2019, 07:30:27 PM
Always Gamble what you afford to Lose Don't Give up LOL

I would like to specifically quote this sentence in your paragraph about not giving up. It is actually advisable to give-up in gambling especially when you are on a losing streak. Applying that kind of attitude which you just wrote, this would only cascade to financial problems and conflict. This would also give an opportunity to be addicted to the certain game if he has that mindset.

Like what you just experienced, gambling CAN be profitable if you know your limits and have self-discipline. The more you gamble your resources, the more chance that your money would be down the drain.
4487  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Investing on cryptocurrency is too hard for others on: June 28, 2019, 05:15:01 PM
I guess the main reason is they don't earn much income from their job, most the filipinos who really aim to have higher income are just going abroad as they earn better and they have better opportunity, and other thing is lack of discipline to save, since the first step before you'll be able to invest, is you need to start saving first, if they failed in the first step, it's not possible they'll be able to invest, unless they'll take a loan to invest the money, which I believe not advisable.

I know someone who is earning a relatively small income but he still managed to save and invest his money (which eventually led him to become successful in his career). The problem stems from the lack of knowledge when it comes to investing. There are little to few business/investing seminars in the country and most people  invest impulsively without researching.

If the person is determined enough to invest, gagawa at gagawa ng paraan yan kahit magkano man ang kanyang income.

Basing from my experience, I invested bitcoin sa USI-tech and it became a ponzi scam pala. Natuto na ako and mas naging careful ako whenever mag-iinvest ako ng pera. In fact, mas na-inspired pa akong mag invest after kong matalo dahil at least, alam ko na mga iiwasan at gagawin ko.
4488  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Worth To Be Currency? on: June 28, 2019, 02:03:30 PM
Short answer: No
Long answer: Yes

To be able to adapt bitcoin as our standard currency, countries from all over the world must adapt to this kind of change including countries among the developed, developing, and underdeveloped stage. Due to discrepancies among the financial status of each country, others do not have access to basic needs. If that were the case, access to this kind of technology seems far from materializing.

In the long run where each country slowly adapts to change, they would inevitably reform and change their payment structure to a digitalized form- which would make bitcoin possible as a standard currency. But for the time being, I do not see it from happening anytime soon.
4489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers needs to control their emotion! on: June 28, 2019, 04:02:49 AM
I was surfing for some old news articles. In that time, I have came across one news article.

Australian died after his 13 hours gambling with nothing in his hands last.

Check here. https://www.stuff.co.nz/world/australia/105184715/gary-went-on-a-13hour-gambling-binge-he-died-with-nothing-left

Really sad, please do not get upset in gambling investment. Simple, take it as easy game not worthy than your life...

The problem with these individuals is that they see gambling as a method of answering their financial problems, thus their last resort renders them to gamble all the resources that they have. Addiction, in general, clouds the judgement of people making them irrational on their decisions especially that they view their methods as acceptable. If someone has a problem with addiction, it is highly advisable to seek support from their family members for continuous guidance and understanding from them.

13 hours never got win what kind of game he plays? mostly player addicted to gambling because of the chance to win always possible
or because type of game he likes to gambling. control emotion and wise to decide anything its most important.

The funny thing is, if you gamble for 13 hours straight, chances are you're only losing what you're winning. Gambling should be controlled and disciplined especially if you are on a win-streak. The more you gamble, the less chance you win from the actual games itself.
4490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc has no value on: June 27, 2019, 07:38:36 PM
<snip...>

Bitcoin has no INTRINSIC value since its nature primarily exist on the internet. Unlike the conventional money which is made from precious materials, paper, and gold, bitcoin is a DIGITALIZED currency that cannot be physically traded. But its value in the market is higher compared to all conventional investment schemes due to its potential from revolutionizing the payment system.

Bitcoin have good value with always have chance to higher price, keep take good moment when bitcoin down last month you have buy or invest and then keep holding until bitcoin could back again more than $10k.

Its market value and intrinsic value are both different since bitcoin does not have any physical form. Regardless, the market value is significantly high compared to any cryptocurrencies, which may be due to market volume and trade. From these facts alone, bitcoin will continue to be valuable in the years to come until another cryptocurrency replaces its spot.
4491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why casinos want you to stay long in their area on: June 27, 2019, 05:47:39 AM
A friend who plays a lot in the casino told, I do not go to offline only on online casinos,
Do you know that Casino manager and staff want s you to stay for an indefinite period of time
and they are doing this for you to stay ..

They are giving a lot of perks like free food drinks and energy drink, they do not have windows in the casino or even clock so you will not be aware of the time and if it is night or day they will loan you so you can keep up playing, this is the reason why some people take days before they go out of Casinos, they have everything there.

Every casino is built upon such environment that you are inclined to stay as much time as possible. It is actually simple: the longer you stay in a casino, the better chances that you would be entice in gambling or spending in their establishment. Remember that casinos are categorized as a business.

They give all those nice free stuffs to players because they know they will take all those money in the end  Grin
It's actually a pretty clever idea from a business pint of view.

Lets say in every game the player bets, house earns in a worth of 3 bottled waters, only one bottled water was be given to the player that makes him play more. Some says that casinos would become bankrupt because even those bystanders are given free drinks and the drinks are leveled starting from bottled water, juice and alcohol. But this is only just a portion of what house edge gets.

Basing it from my experience, the longer that you stay in a casino watching other people gamble, the higher the chances that your curiosity would succumb to doing the actual thing. The more you spend means good business to the casino owners! If you do not plan on gambling after all, make sure to bring only enough cash and leave your card.
4492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency are gonna disappear on: June 26, 2019, 04:56:11 PM
"Cryptocurrency will go to nothing but blockchain will survive" - Jim Rodgers.

Link to the article: https://goldsilverbitcoin.com/jim-rogers-bitcoin-blockchain-cryptocurrency/

Just to be blunt, everything will disappear in time, not just cryptocurrencies. Regardless if bitcoin will survive or not, what matters is the technology that powers bitcoin- which is the blockchain technology. If he were to be true, another cryptocurrency would surely dominate and reign on the market in terms of price, which would be the next bitcoin in the market. The endless cycle continues as this would be the future outcome of the market once this event happens.

I don't think he has any in-depth knowledge about cryptocurrency, bitcoin, and blockchain and I think he can't even distinguished the difference between the three. And if there is anything that could stop cryptocurrencies, that is not going to be government agencies. I think as long as there are a lot of people who are going to benefit from it, there is no such thing as possibility.

Nope. He is very knowledgeable about these. He has decades of experience in investing on various assets and currently he is the chairman of Rogers Holdings and Beeland Interests Inc. In the past also, he has made several statements regarding cryptocurrency. But that doesn't mean that we should always agree with his assumptions and predictions.

Well if that were to be the case, better maximize the potential of bitcoin as a short-term investing program due to its high-volatility. Although he may be experienced in this line of work, no one still knows what would be the outcome of the market.
4493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hospital That Treats Bitcoin Gambling Addicts? on: June 26, 2019, 03:26:33 PM
There is a hospital in Scottish that treats people that are bitcoin addicts or some who are addicted to bitcoin gambling.

Crypto trading or bitcoin gambling can be considered is a classification of behavioral addiction, with investors are always checking the coin graph and those who keep betting until they get bitcoins. If you knew yourself is being addicted to gambling, it's time to go to this hospital.

Why not a general hospital, why does it have to be a hospital that treats specifically 'bitcoin gambling addicts'? Addiction, in general, can be classified into different categories and variations but all stem from one root- which is addiction. I doubt that there will be a hospital catering to this special kind of addiction.

If you know someone suffering from addiction, regardless of their nature, help/support them by leading them to the right path or by sending them to rehabilitation.

I don't understand how these would work? It's not a medical condition, is the term hospital being used instead of rehab center? I get trying to pound that their addiction isn't healthy but not a hospital where they're in a healing center.

I agree with you on this one. But maybe they have a rehabilitation center inside the hospital that addresses such addiction. Anyway, it's good that they have that kind of facility for "bitcoin addicts". How  long has this hospital been doing this treatment? Maybe it's also good to see some feedbacks from their patients on what they have undergone to overcome their addiction.

Regardless of the nature of their addiction, it all stems from the same root. I do not see why there is such a need for a creation of a hospital specifically for 'bitcoin gambling addicts' as they fall on the same category as 'addicts' in general.
4494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA to launch virtual sports betting game on: June 21, 2019, 10:42:07 PM
Most people that I know use 'odds' as their main betting website for NBA and the release of this new website will surely eliminate the need to rely on that party. If NBA were to implement this kind of feature, most people would be attracted but this slightly renders them that they are indeed, comfortable in betting.

I am actually looking forward with this betting application since this would definitely affect the gambling industry and the sports betting industry as whole, not just the NBA.

Its a little too late because most of the sportsbetting are already available on betting sites but this is still a good adoption at least we can bet directly to their site. NBA is a good league for sure many bettor will use the platform to bet on the next season.

That's true. But it's never too late in this business. Since they are carrying the official site, the trust of the bettors will always be there. So getting their players will not be hard. And integrating crypto in the near future might very likely to happen also.

Businesses need to evolve and adapt to change. Betting using cryptocurrency is the new age of betting and people would slowly migrate to this kind of change in the near future. Like you mentioned, no one is late in the business and it's better to start late than to never start at all.
4495  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000 is around the corner on: June 21, 2019, 05:15:55 PM
<snip...>

One thing that bitcoin taught me over the years is that any substantial growth also has an impeding and inevitable decrease some time in the future. People should maximize this opportunity while the its price is steadily increasing but always expect its price to stabilize. Maximize this opportunity by categorizing your investments for both short and long-term goals depending on your budget.

I think 10,000 can be passed already this week. But it scares me so fast growth. I remember the years 2017-2018 and would not want to repeat that enchanting growth and then no less enchanting fall. I would like Bitcoin to develop more harmoniously and stably growing without shocks. The stability of Bitcoin will bring him huge popularity and many people who are not yet ready to buy Bitcoins will get rid of fear and buy it.

Reaching $10,000 would definitely happen but always expect its price to stabilize and slightly decrease during the process. It is still highly advisable to divide your investments and purchase bitcoins not on their peak price but on when it stabilized on the market.
4496  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Be careful of asking Non collateral loans outside the local on: June 21, 2019, 07:30:23 AM
Actually, multi-factorial since madami ka pwede munang i-consider before making a non-collateral loan. Firstly, check the post history of the person if he/she is active on the forum. Also, tignan niyo din kung sakaling kasali siya sa isang signature campaign since baka dito niya kunin yung ipang-loan niyang pera. In addition, tignan din yung trust-rating nito.

Kung balak mo naman mag-lend sa isang non-collateral loan, make sure yung amount na iririsk niyo ay relatively hindi ganung kalake JUST IN CASE may mangyari mang pang-scam.

4497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you gamble? on: June 20, 2019, 02:40:51 PM
I'm just curious why people can rich from gambling site until I found this opportunity through cryptocurrency.
So believe it or not , I started gamble after I knew crypto 5 years ago and Dice become my first gambling site.

Once I have experience winning and losses, I know how people feel about gambling

Gambling, in general, may give you the adrenaline rush that one is looking and expecting. It renders you this thrilling feeling of uncertainty with cash as primary tool at stake. In addition, you also have the opportunity to receive huge amounts of winnings proportional to your bet/s. Lastly, people also gamble due to the perspective of seeing this as a way to answer their financial problems- which is the wrong way of settling your finances.

As for me, I bet due to curiosity (like what you mentioned). Since I do not fully grasp this respective field and I want to know more on the side of the gamblers, I primarily bet to satisfy this need for curiosity and answers.
4498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best tips for who will invest in BTC for first time? on: June 20, 2019, 04:10:39 AM
For who will invest for first time in Bitcoin, what is the basic recomendations and tips to PLAY THE GAME!??

First of all, do not view investing as a game since this involves risking huge amounts of cash in the process. Rather than viewing it as a game, view it as something that would give you an opportunity to earn cash in a short amount of time.

Quote
1. It is true it's necessary search for a Exchange with the price cheap in BTC for buy it ?? That is a good recomendation for "Traders" and "Holders" too??

In looking for a good exchange, you should consider security, reputation, years of existence, and feedback from the users in the internet. Do your research before searching an exchange to buy BTC from.

Quote
2. I will "holder" my BTC, I need buy in piece BTC or all my fiat money buy all BTC? What is the best strategy to be a good HODL in BTC?? And Why?

It is highly advisable that you diversify your investments by investing not only to cryptocurrencies but to other investment platforms available in the market. Another thing, only invest the amount that you are willing to risk and lose. Investing in bitcoin is considered a 'high-risk, high-reward' type of investment.

Quote
3. What is your strategy for now in BTC? And why??

I mainly HODL my coins and purchase some BTCs depending on the historical data of its price. Also, I gather information in the market by doing market research and reading current events that may affect the trend of its price.

Quote
4. List me all your good tips for to start now! I will be very grateful...

One thing that you should know is that investing in cryptocurrency is never too late. You should do your obligation by researching and knowing the background of bitcoin before impulsively investing and jumping in the bandwagon.

Quote
Sorry for the silly questions, but that's how you start  Undecided

There is no such thing as a stupid question, only a stupid answer. Good luck! :-)
4499  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Will Surge to 62k! on: June 19, 2019, 04:48:42 PM
Well anything could happen as no one can ACCURATELY predict what will be bitcoin's price in the following years to come. History of its price may show an upward scale since this year's third quarter showed signs that its price may surge. But purely basing it on historical data may give inaccurate conclusion as external factors (such as: massive bitcoin ban, prohibitions, unexpected market scams, etc.) should be also considered.

It is still highly advisable to at least HODL the bitcoins you are willing to risk and lose.

4500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pacquiao Stands as Underdog vs Thurman — Sportsbooks on: June 19, 2019, 03:13:24 PM
i think the OP meant older not younger in this phrase - "10 years younger than his opponent".

we will see how far pacquiao is prepared for this yet another fight of his career. he has nothing to prove anymore. he is already a legend in boxing. what is there to gain for this fight anyway? more money? proof that he can still fight at his age?  in any case, still interesting to watch this coming july...

People want a fight that, a showdown with Manny on it. I know there are no more to prove but the fact that it is still exciting gives the fight a chance. It is in his blood and I think as much as he can fight he will not stop and continue this passion. You can't just ignore that and we all are the same. Anyway I will be betting on Manny as he hasn't been letting me down.

Well to be honest, every boxer wants the opportunity to fight one of the legendary boxers of all time. This is due to the fact that battling Manny Pacquiao can jump-start your career, provide you fame, huge amounts of cash, the glory, and the pride. But as a Filipino, I will support Manny Pacquiao in all of his fights, regardless of his current task.

snip
I don't know when Pacman will retire in boxing ring but I think as long as he can fight, his match never stop.
That will be dangerous for him. At his age, he should really consider retiring. Boxing is a contact sport, and one wrong punch could end badly for him.

The people here are not seeing the point of the who posted this. As you can see, Pacquaio stands as the underdog for this match. Because
of his age compared to his opponent, his senatorial position that affects his focus and so on. But the point is, he's the underdog and the sports betting for their match is really tricky. Even though Pacquiao has nothing to prove, the gamblers must be careful with their choice to this match.
Pacquiao fans will not see him as the underdog. They will always see him as invulnerable and refuse to see the obvious. Pacquiao is already old and unfocused. He is the underdog for a reason. He may still win but the odds are not on his side.

Bob Arum mentioned that he fears Manny Pacquiao might suffer brain damage if he continues to fight at his current age- which is rare for a boxer to continue this kind of dangerous sport. The long-term damage might manifest later on his life especially that he represents as a Senator in the Philippines. Regardless of what people view him, either as an underdog or as a main competitor, our support will remain the same!
