461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HARDFORK 12/31 | CRYPTO BULLION (CBX) VAULT 2.0 w/ PoSP | UPDATE NOW on: December 31, 2015, 11:30:23 AM
Which pools have updated to 2.1.1? iSpace? The Blocks Factory? Or does it matter for mining tomorrow?

It certainly matters as only v2.1.1 will be able to mine the last 24 hours of PoW blocks occurring from 9am est 12/31-9a est 1/1.
The Blocks Factory is updated to v2.1.1 so I can confirm they are good to go.

It's very encouraging to see the ongoing development of Crypto Bullion.  The coin's early history was written about in the book called "Cryptocurrency "The Alt-ernative" A Beginner's Reference" last year.  A new book is being planned soon.

Great news Tyke, looking forward to this Smiley

24 hours till hard fork. Please update all Vaults to v2.1.1 today!
463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HARDFORK 12/31 | CRYPTO BULLION (CBX) VAULT 2.0 w/ PoSP | UPDATE NOW on: December 29, 2015, 03:05:27 PM
Reminder to PoW miners:

PoW mining will continue for the first 24 hours after the occurrence of the PoSP hardfork (from 9am est 12/31/15 thru 9am est 1/1/16). However, only miners using version 2.1.1 will be able to mine during this period so please update to version 2.1.1 if you plan to mine for this period of overlap.

48 hours until hard fork!

Make sure you update to 2.1.1 and get your CBX ready to start staking for PoSP
465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HARDFORK 12/31 | CRYPTO BULLION (CBX) VAULT 2.0 w/ PoSP | UPDATE NOW on: December 28, 2015, 09:49:11 PM
URGENT:
If you updated to Vault v2.1, it is imperative that you update immediately to v2.1.1.
v2.1 is not being accepted by older versions of the CBX software so you will not be able to stay with the main block chain.
If after upgrading to 2.1.1 you have a problem matching the block count on the official CBX block explorer (https://chainz.cryptoid.info/cbx/), you will want to use the bootstrap blockchain download from the website so you do not have to resync from genesis.

v2.1.1 is now available for download via the CBX website http://cryptobullion.io/storage-use/
Please update now.

A little over 2 days until the hardfork so if you are running on anything older than v2.1.1, please update asap.

Any questions or issues, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks!

Vault v2.1.0 is available on the website now. This build assigns a new protocol version to the Vault.

Less than 5 days till the hard fork, please update asap.

edit: version number

do you think in the long term the 2% will not produce a small value reduction in CBX if no new users go into?
Yes, it is basic supply and demand. If there is not additional demand, then the increase in supply, even a small one like 2% per year, will cause a value reduction. However, we will continue to create demand through our planned projects so it is doubtful this will be an issue.

There are some maximun stake age actually?
There is no maximum stake age.
469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HARDFORK 12/31 | CRYPTO BULLION (CBX) VAULT 2.0 w/ PoSP | UPDATE NOW on: December 26, 2015, 03:12:45 PM
A few questions have come in requesting clarification of how PoSP works so we wanted to provide a summary in case others are wondering the same thing:

Proof of Stake Participation (PoSP) is designed to maximize security, transaction processing and community interest by boosting the rewards (interest payouts) to CBX owners for staking their CBX. Basically the more CBX you have and the more often you stake, the more CBX you will earn. However, unlike other staking coins that allow for higher interest rates at the expense of allowing high inflation, CBX will offer higher interest rates but will keep its low 2% yearly inflationary rate.

PoSP will insure that the full 2% annual inflation of the overall supply of CBX (little less than 1 million CBX) is paid out to active stakers by distributing the unclaimed PoS rewards from non-staked CBX to the CBX owners that are staking - thereby allowing stakers a potentially far greater return than 2%.

One PoSP block will on average occur every 65 seconds. The block size will grow very slowly as it is based off of the overall supply of CBX in existence but it will basically stay at a static size – about 0.04 CBX per block (every 65 seconds) as PoSP starts.

After 9am EST December 31st when PoSP takes over and your CBX have sat unmoved in your Vault for 1 hour, they will immediately qualify to compete for the block rewards being awarded every 65 seconds. The more CBX you have in your Vault, the more likely you are to earn these blocks. Just unlock your Vault and let PoSP run.

Below is a chart that estimates the interest rate that will be earned via PoSP relative to how many of the overall CBX in existence are being staked at any particular time.

•   All CBX (~ 1million) in existence being staked = 2% annual interest earnings
•   ½ of all CBX (~ 500k) in existence being staked = 4% annual interest earnings
•   ¼ of all CBX (~ 250k) in existence being staked = 8% annual interest earnings

I have had no issues with Banx personally nor heard of any. Did you reach out to support or look for ByronP in the chat box?

Does anyone know how many CBX are held on Cryptsy/owned by Cryptsy?

[Nice to see the price up!]

Mark
It's hard to know that except if you have a crystal ball :x

Actually we have been able to identify Cryptsy's CBX wallet - it is the largest one out there with 114k CBX in it.

It will be interesting to watch as PoSP takes over on the 31st because the owners of those CBX will be forfeiting their interest to the rest of the network or to Cryptsy if they decide to stake them...

Hi Guys,

I just installed the new Vault for CBX & I must ask....did I do something wrong? I have a white/blue/lime green color scheme. I didn't see any 'theme' pulldown to change it. Are these the new colors? If so, please bring back the 'Classic Black'. I'm not saying it's ugly...just not what I envisioned for CBX.

Thank You,

CapnBDL
      Cool

EDIT; NO...I lied! It is FUGLY! I thought a Classic Black with Silver n Gold would have been a much better fit for CryptoBullion! There...I said what I really think of it.

EDIT2; AND..just discovered, The problem with allowing 'min2tray' (stuck) still exists in this Vault. (Win10-64)
Hello,
I am sorry that you think wallet is uggly, many people told it was better like that.  We will try to implement a theme select.

Yes i did not work on the bug of min2tray because i can't reproduce it and i don't have enough of information. Can you reproduce it tand then send me the log file ? You find it there : %appdata% > CryptoBullion > debug.log.

Then i can analyze the issue and try to solve it.

Also, don't hesitate to PM if you have any suggestion or questions

No problem, I'd be happy to send you my debug.log file. I hope you figure out why it doesn't re-open, as I really prefer to do the min2tray vs. taskbar. Other than that problem, the functionality is great. You guy did a good job in that department. <applause here> Not sure why your smartass partner gave me the answer he did, but that comment follows.

Yeah I kind of agree.... Something was lost in translation.   And
Stainless steel is not a precious metal

Yea yea, and thank you to the development team for putting in the selfless work to develop and evolve CBX into a potentially leading crypto currency/commodity. Thank you for the hours spent coding, spending out of own pocket cash on advertising, and keeping the dream alive.
Oh and thank you for a great looking client with great functionality. Not to mention the PoSP algorithm which will have took many hours to code and test.

There.... I said what I really think

Edit: if you don't want 'min to tray' don't select it in the menu, simple

HEY....Whatever you have stuck in your shorts dude...ya need to remove it and take that attitude with it! If ya can't take the heat..get the hell outa the kitchen!! You missed the boat with these colors!! PERIOD. When I think of CryptoBullion, I think of shiny Silver & Gold with a elliquent Classic Black backround you would find on a jewelry or coin store cloth. NOT some freaky lime-green and faded blue-jean colors.

I WILL apologize  for not commenting of the wallet functions, however, but that was due to the shock I got when it first opened. Other than the min2tray problem you so rudely commented on, the wallet function is great (see above comment).

Thanks for the hard work put in on Vault2.0.0.0.

     Cool

Great news, some one gave me the debug.log and we found the bug.
The upload of the fix is in progress, you gonna have it soon Smiley

Uploaded and available on the website now. Thank you for quick fix Alex!

Someone can tell me if the coin have a hard limit of maximun coins in the code?

thanks

Yes and no. One is written but it's just a filler. CBX will expand at 2% per year going forward.

I don't know how many in the community use reddit but it is popular with many crypto followers. I started a couple of posts in one of the shared boards to inform of and encourage discussion regarding CBX's new algo and its release. This is a good opportunity to hear from and discuss with members of other communities. If you guys care to chime in, ask questions, etc, feel free...

Bitcoin Alternative Crypto Bullion (CBX) Announces Unprecedented PoSP Proof-of-Stake-Participation Algorithm
Dec 17, 2015 | Bitcoin Press Release

The Crypto Bullion (CBX) Team is thrilled to present to the world its next major achievement: an evolutionary staking reward algorithm, Proof-of-Stake-Participation (PoSP) and the associated hard fork. This pioneering method for allocating staking rewards will revolutionize the crypto-currency arena by maximizing network security via the re-appropriation of stake rewards from non-participants to better incentivize participants who actively engage in the actions that increase network security and value for Crypto Bullion investors.

Québec, Canada / December 17, 2015: Existing for more than two years in the crypto-currency market, Crypto Bullion enjoys a reputation that is the envy of many other coins; a true democratic from-the-ground-up approach integrated with a network that is fast, fair, open to innovation and friendly to investors. CBX is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of an unprecedented PoSP Proof-of-Stake-Participation algorithm for which details can be read in the official whitepaper here.

The block chain’s initial concept is based on attempting to break the inequitable old economy centralization of financial control, by transferring authority and trust to a decentralized network, in an open source environment. This increases efficiency and stimulates human creativity and personal development; now PoSP goes further and brings a creative and energy efficient method to ensure that the CBX network architecture will remain decentralized, secure and valuable: the perfect backbone for the new online economy.
Crypto Bullion will remain true to its core values that have been experienced by all holders since its inception: a healthy and low yearly 2% inflation, a small money supply, an interest paid to holders and fast 1-minute blocks. Crypto Bullion now transforms to a pure stake coin instead of the hybrid model it had followed.

The wasteful Proof-of-Work algorithm and the problematic “coin age” qualifier have been discarded. PoSP works in such a way that it rewards only the Vaults (CBX software) that are actively connected to the network, with their staking function enabled, starting immediately after the first staking hour. This is in stark contrast to traditional PoS requiring 30 days of coin age accumulation that rewards for activity counterproductive to network security and efficiency. Also, to ensure that 2% inflation is fixed, the reward for each individual block is calculated based on a percentage of current total money supply rather than on a percentage of staked coins.
The team recognizes that many CBX will not be staked (while held on exchange or offline in cold storage), PoSP insures all network rewards are allocated strictly to active CBX holders providing them a higher potential return in a safe network integrated with low global inflation. CBX owners will have the choice to earn interest by staking their funds and providing a protective service to the network or they can opt not to stake and forfeit their earnings potential to those who are providing a protective service.
Mandatory updated Vault version 2.0 is available now, and the announced hard fork will take place on December 31, 2015. After that date, only Vault 2.0 will be able to synchronize with the CBX network.

Dedicated to constantly improve the security of the CBX network, and bring value to Crypto Bullion holders, the Crypto Bullion Foundation and Development Team have many exciting projects in the queue that will continue to revolutionize and push further the potential of block chain technology, always with an objective of increasing true value to investors and CBX holders.
Anyone can participate in the PoSP revolution by acquiring CBX at the major exchanges, such as Banx.io, Cryptopia, Cryptsy and Yobit. The CBX team welcomes questions on the forum at http://forum.cryptobullion.io/, where people discuss any questions or suggestions they might have. For further detail on PoSP, the White Paper is available via the CBX website http://cryptobullion.io/white-paper/.
