461  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread june 7 to june 20 -picks are closed!!.... prize = 0.20 btc on: June 17, 2016, 03:21:25 AM
noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I missed the pick.  Sad  I always bet way off anyways lol.  well good luck everyone.  all i can say, is diff is going through the roof soon Smiley

edit:  announce .10btc as the prize, but keep the real amount secret Smiley

That is part of the fun of this I have found is when you guess.  I have never won but still had lot's of fun.  There is SOO much stratagy in some wait till last minute watching... taking chance numbers fill up or missing it.  And there are some throwing random numbers with little thought.  But it's fun to see it all come together.

I'm not so sure on the difficulty going crazy I thought it would have a few month's ago but I was very wrong.  Right now if we get another under 5 before having I would just be thrilled.

Bitwisdom:
Bitcoin Difficulty:    196,061,423,940
Estimated Next Difficulty:    205,038,646,442 (+4.58%)
Adjust time:    After 661 Blocks, About 4.4 days
Hashrate(?):    1,434,006,101 GH/s

Coinbase currently at 776 we still have a chance of getting closer or even crossing 800 this period which would be amazing to see.  We BLEW through 700 which was great.   I feel like no one lost this period with BTC's gain's in value.
462  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: June 17, 2016, 02:16:10 AM
I have still been testing different pools with 24 hour runs.  This time I gave BTCC a try with the S9.  During the 24 hour run the S9 hashed very close to the 14T as shown with extremely low hardware errors.   Still no issues with pool comparability, which points to good news.  The pictures below show results which I'm very happy with.

The full BTCC Pool statistic page is rather large with entire info so click here if you want to view it: http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m25/notlist3d/S9/btcc24hour_zpsqailk5yo.jpg
Below is just the graph to show stability which you can see was very stable:

463  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: INVEST BITCOIN!!! on: June 16, 2016, 04:47:40 PM
Investing is gambling. Anything involving putting your money into something to get more money is gambling. Ponzis can be profitable if you are the first person to join them, but generally there's so many scams that you'd have to be pretty lucky to stumble upon a new "Legit"(for now) Ponzi that pays. Most of the time, it'll seem like just as you deposit your money into a Ponzi, they take it and run. Trading can be a gamble, but if you're smart and invest wisely or hodl coins, it should work out. There's no good way of investing with bitcoin, because I can guarantee you about 5/6ths of cloudmining operations are scams. If you gotta mine, buy the physical miner. There's a safe way for everything.

Bitcoin mining doesn't make much sense right now unless you have cheap (free) electricity

It all depends can't really make such a big blanket statement.  Yes it's tighter margins then a year ago but many are still able to mine profitable.  Even with having the S9 coming out will let many remain mining profitable where S7 might have not been profitable after having.

And we really don't know what value, difficulty will be after having all speculation.   So S7 hard to say who can mine it after having.  But MANY will still be able to mine with S9 it was just a huge jump in efficiency.
464  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I earn money in this forum? on: June 16, 2016, 04:45:13 PM
you should buy an account or have an account and rank it up then join on a sig campaign.

I do not agree with this. when a newbie trying to buy high rank account and join the signature campaign. but the poor quality posts and eventually account got banned. better try from the beginning.

And a LOT of the accounts are obvious that they were farmed/sold.   Sadly account farmers have a ton of low quality post in most cases things like offtopic threads what was your last drink, what was last music you listened to, etc.  Basically to raise activity level of account and it becomes obvious it was sold.

And other way is some long period of time without post's and come back posting with a different style.  So again becomes obvious.  So I would not count on buying if you want in a "good" signature campaign.   You really need to start one and have high quality posts from beginning.

I know some will always want to try to fasttrack it by buying.  But I think a lot of them end up banned for insignificant posts or some negged for being part of buying/selling of accounts.

This price surge is pretty amazing.  I mean, sure, we hypothesized about it but no one was sure which way the price was going to go.  Will be interesting to see if the value holds after the halving.  I hope so, and glad I have coin in the bank so to speak!

And we still have 23 day's or so till having - http://www.bitcoinblockhalf.com/ .  So this amount of surging up in price with this amount left looks very nice.   It's hard to tell what high end will be at the end of this.

It makes me glad I have some being held aswell.   Fun to wake up to a gain in USD hopefully it continues.  And mining has been amazing not surging high with hash... which I was kinda surprised.   But mining also looks great.  So it's good news kinda all the way around.
466  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Asking for your advice on: June 16, 2016, 04:32:55 PM
I think you're better of waiting for the S9 https://www.bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=0002016052907243375530DcJIoK0654
It has an efficieny of 0.098 J/GH which is quite a bit better than the S7's 0.25 J/GH which means that it'll be profitable for a longer time.

$2200 is still a pretty much amount to lose, comparing to $800 for S7.. But thanks anyway, I will think about it

The thing is no one know's after having what a profitable electricity price is for S7's.  Just don't know value of BTC, difficulty, etc.  So a LOT of unknown's.   If you get one you for sure can mine till having with S7.   But at having block reward is cut in have... so less income.

This is where the suggestion of S9 comes in at as you will be mining with it after having with 0.06/kWh.  S7... hard to say speculation.  But if you get a S7 with that electricity rate know going into it you might need to sell the miner at having.
467  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S7 (4.73 TH/s, 0.25 J/GHs) Batch 19 Releases Tomorrow on: June 16, 2016, 01:01:56 PM
Why would anyone want to buy S7 at this point in time? You have to be stupid, foolish, idiotic, naive, or ignorant to buy one. I'm trying to SELL mine, not buy it.

Remember, you also need an expensive power supply, at least 1500 Watt, with 10 PCI-E leads.

It all depends on your electricity price, some no doubt will still be pulling in profit after having (espically if btc keeps climbing).  Hard to say how many cent's per KW after having .... but yes some still will turn profit running.

Also if you go with the AP3 psu it's not really that expensive for what you get.   I have had good luck with them and since they kept design with S9 means multiple generations of miners can run on it.  And I have spent more on ATX psu's so... don't see it as horribly priced.  But guess my opinion on that.
468  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: June 16, 2016, 12:39:27 PM
see below...
the other 2 units are over 13.3 but no unit reach the advertised 14TH/s

(picture above)

You are right out of curiosity what PSU's are you using?  Also have you tried another pool just to see what it does? (Pool should not make a difference as Kano works but just being through)

Just wondering on those things as that would be heck of a bad luck to get so many under.
469  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cloud Mining - Please help a newbie on: June 16, 2016, 12:01:19 PM
It is better not do cloud mining for a newbie. From the past experience, most cloud mining site will not earn us money.

Yeah most of the cloud mining sites are HYIP in disguise but only few cloud mining sites are legit and trusted like genesis mining. We need to research some information first before we take the risk and invest our bitcoins.

The site you use as a legit mining site has a testimonial from a bankrupt miner manufacture featured on it's front page.  So makes me wonder things about them... as most would not want that endorsement on front page.   Also look at price of ether - https://www.genesis-mining.com/pricing - 925 dollars for 250-300 dollar card that is not to much wattage... ouch.  Not to mention they use the term "lifetime" mining which I HATE as it sounds like forever.... but that is obviously not true.  So I see lot's of bad.

Again I say go to hashnest and there is none of those issues.  Just a lot more professional and legit.
470  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can I invest? on: June 16, 2016, 11:52:47 AM
search for a legit investment site like  hashocean i will not suggest you a trading site cause based on your post it seems that your a newbie .
Hashocean can't be named as legit investment site, because it's only ponzi scheme. They says that they ar doing mining but don't gives any proofs of it. So it's realy bad idea to invest into hashocean.

Someone is pushing them here I saw another thread with it as listed as good investment cant seem to find it but had referral in it.  Was like a thread voting on what was good.  But avoid hashocean... there is no reason to go there.  Anyone that guarantees profit is not a legit cloud mining site they say "Return on investment within 5 months." so... not legit as mining is not a sure bet.

If you want to go cloud mining really just go to hashnest.  You can research a ton of sites... and they will come out scams on almost all.  Hashnest you get a legit chance of ROI and you can trust them.
471  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: June 16, 2016, 11:42:45 AM
60% of my S9 B1 not perform as specified Sad
Hashrate is under 13.3TH/s

Can you post a image of the status screen so it's a little easier to see?   What does hashrate look like on each blade? (A status screen will help a lot of questions here).   Also are you getting number from miner itself or pool?
472  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Which firm of mining hardware providers is the best one? on: June 16, 2016, 11:39:23 AM
It actually applied to ALL coins at some point to a degree - some of the CPU-specific coins might run better on Intel, but Intel's presense in graphics is a sad joke for the most part (even the Haswell and Skylake APUs don't match my 2 generation old A10-5700s on graphic performance overall).

Doesn't apply CURRENTLY to SHA256/Scrypt/X11 coins as the ASICs have taken those over, but that leaves a very large number of coins that work well on AMD hardware (and a FEW that work better on Nvidia).

Well, AMD used to manufacture Intel chips, then went off by itself, so their chips aren't quite intel quality, ever since then. Skylake HD Graphics can beat AMD APUS, but remember that the clockrate of each Skylake gpu varies with the processor. I.e HD 530 is faster in a 7600K(not quite sure it even has 530) but is slower in a i7-6700HQ.  Also remember that you're comparing a desktop APU to both desktop AND laptop GPU. Intel still has the better efficiency, core performance, and overall is better with cpus, so it's no wonder they run better on CPU coins. It kind of evens out in GPUland, with AMD destroying Nvidia, but there are a very few coins that are nvidia-centered or something. (2-3, not very many lol)

I had to do a double take for a second two Leo's in a row Smiley.   But CPU coins are kinda dead in my view there just is not anything I see as making enough to pay electricity off of.   I wish it was not true and there was a good alt.  Chances of paying electricity to mine CPU coins are slim... and ROI on CPU chip not even a chance do I see specifically looking at nice chips.

And a lot of the Intel integrated GPU's just don't have enough power to make it worthwhile.  Best by far is Ether it's on a heck of a run.  And takes a decent GPU those intel integrated that most motherboards have just does not cut it.

What a great way to wake up.  See bitwisdom is still pretty dang low (considering having much lower then I though we would have). So good luck continues there.

And coinbase keeps going up up up!  We hit 750.... maybe we can see close to 800 by end of this period?  That would be a hell of a week.
474  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (ask) Phanteks Power Combo , connect two power supplies on: June 16, 2016, 05:38:00 AM
thanks for all reply now i will buying new motherboard
i think use 1 psu for 1rig is  more safe than use 1 mobo with 2psu

my plan buying new mobo with 5 slot vga

This is really starting to go more twords altcoin.  Many miners have used multiple PSU's when setting up a GPU mining machine.  This is due to amount of power some cards take (espically during LTC day's which is dated).   It can be done just don't mix PSU's on a single GPU I would say.

Just like on bitcoin miners people don't mix PSU's on same hashing board.   But 1 PSU is a much cleaner way of doing it.
475  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: June 16, 2016, 05:30:23 AM
Is there are possibilities guys does this campaign will open a slot for new participants? I want to join to this campaign because i find it the best among than other existing today.

I'm sure Marco will announce if he ends up doing this ever.  As you can tell it is full of very happy participant's as it's a great campaign and many like I have been in it a long time.  So not a lot of turn-over of people leaving as it is just a great campaign.

This get's asked multiple times per page which I think is to the campaign and Marco's credit.  (it is only a few posts up it was just asked)  But as of now still first page remains current:

No New Spots!
And if it does in your case most likely you would need to work on your negative as also do to front page: "All users who receive valid negative trust (profile shows 'deal with extreme caution') and/or are banned for spam or likewise during the course of the campaign will be denied payment."
476  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Storing coins on: June 16, 2016, 04:13:35 AM
Anyone use the pi-wallet based on Raspberry PI ? The "build-your-own" one ?

Stupid question :
If you use Paper Wallet for offline storage, do you make a paper backup (ex. with Armory) and then delete the soft wallet ?
Or there is another method to make a paper wallet ?

there are ways to make only a paper wallet like using bitadress.org
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Paper_wallet#Creation_of_a_paper_wallet

but generally paper wallet is a bitcoin private key created on an offline, secure system and then printed on a piece of paper. so you can use any code that you like as long as they are safe.

Paper wallets are great if used right they can be done very secure.  If you are going to use it alot they are not really what you want for storage.  One thing I don't think I see enough is once you import that paper wallet you kinda lose the security of it being offline even if deleted after.  As if computer is infected or such ... the private key could be compromised.

I would almost suggest making a few paper wallets at once when you know 100 percent it's secure and keep some paper wallets even if there is no money on them.  That way after you import to spend you can send to next paperwallet which private key was not imported.  It is more secure and some might see it as to much and being to overprotective.
477  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: please give your best advice for newbie? on: June 16, 2016, 04:09:09 AM
It may be best to just buy some bitcoins through localbitcoins or an exchange like coinbase. That's probably the best way to get a large amount quickly and relatively easily.

There are a HUGE difference between say LBC and coinbase.  With LBC you can count on paying top dollar but some do it to remain anonymous.  I personally don't find it worth it for me as I fell I'm not doing anything I need to hide with coins.

With Coinbase (great choice for US) you do have to let them know your identity with KYC laws in US.  But you get fair prices and can buy direct from a checking account so I find it worth it to do personally.  Not to mention it's a established firm vs user on LBC.
478  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can I invest? on: June 16, 2016, 04:06:12 AM
If you are interested in bitcoin cloud mining i suggest the one and only HASHNEST. Stay away from others because 99.99 % of them are scams. But if you want to earn faast i suggest you to do a little search for trading and i suggest to trade with small amount so you can see how it works

Hashnest is great, but you`ll soon discover the rate of mining is still a dead scene.

Unless youre assuming the value like right now continues to climb in short periods. In this btc price jump, its only due to the halving scenario which makes people to dive into since they feel there will be some sort of shortage.

Mining is far from dead.  It is getting harder to do and lower electricity prices were needed.  But the coin has jumped HUGE recently which means all past amount's you mined and held are worth more now compared to say 320 day's.  That is part of I love about mining is mining and holding.

And it is not a dead scene with S9 hitting the market the new efficiency is huge jump.   So it keeps those who were mining profitable (hopefully).   But there is still a lot of action going on I don't agree it's a dead scene at all.
479  Other / Meta / Re: Why cant we tip others in bitcoin in the bitcoin forum? on: June 16, 2016, 03:57:26 AM
Lol, I don't think anyone here is interested in tipping anyone else.  With exceptions, of course.  I did tip someone who gave me a tutorial on how to do a screen shot copy/paste thing, and I did so because he had his bitcoin addy in his profile.

It would be nice to have a tip bot, I think.  I just don't think people here are going to give up their precious bitcoins.  And most of the posting here is shit anyway.

This is very much true people see help as free with it being a forum.  I have been a member for years and I think I have had 2-3 who wanted to help tip (I don't think I accepted either though).   I have even used teamviewer and helped remote with miners... and no tip.

It just has become part of the culture really that help is free in a lot of cases.   I use a signature campaign as I gain a little something for helping and posting.  But it does not compare to say if I would have taken those times helping and actually did real work.   But I enjoy helping so I will continue to do it.  I also don't spam or push people to tip either some might have had tip's if doing this.  I just don't want to be that guy who helps then throws up a BTC address.... as I enjoy helping honestly even if there are no tips.
480  Other / Archival / Re: Why on: June 16, 2016, 03:52:37 AM
are the altcoin discussions of such shitty quality

?

It is not all but it is a surprising amount.  This is why some signature campaigns don't even count that section which is sad as altcoins are very valid and fun but a lot of posts just end up being horrible there.

But we also have to look at the coins... truthfully there are some pretty crappy coins to that still get post's.  Not every coin is good but many still get posts.   So it is a issue many see I think best way to combat it is sig campaigns not paying for that area just like offtopic as it is full of not so great posts.
