461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 26, 2023, 07:13:23 PM

We only see a few of those kinds of altercations in the NBA, and that adds to the excitement of the game, actually. Klay vs. Booker, there's no way I will side with Booker, even though he is the better player. Basketball is a team game, not an individual one. Booker may boast about his stats, but Klay will just remind him of his 4 rings. I think Booker needs to win a championship first.

If not for CP3, the Suns wouldn't be a playoff team, that's a fact.

Too bad KD is in the Suns this season and Booker couldn't prove anything as long as KD is there except by going into the NBA championship this season. anyway, if they can go to the playoffs and win against the Denver Nuggets if ever they happen to be fighting to get to the next round, then that would be a huge improvement for them because we all know after that, it would be easy games unless they gonna go against the GSW once again but this time without CP3 and that's the best game we will ever see in the NBA playoffs this season.

I don’t think the Warriors match up well against the Suns. I also don’t think the Suns match up well against the Nuggets. With all the super teams seemingly in the west this year, I believe the playoff bracket may be more important this year than in those previous. I still think there are probably only 6 teams that could win it all this year.
With Bradley Beal on Suns, I think it's a pretty good match up against the Warriors. But I imagine warriors beating Suns on outside shooting if Curry plays like a point god then it is over for the Suns with their weak Center. just saying.

Suns against Nuggets is ridiculous, Jokic will eat Ayton alive. I'm still rooting for the Nuggets this year!

463  Economy / Economics / Re: 1.34 trillion asset manager Deutsche Bank to offer Bitcoin service on: September 26, 2023, 06:51:13 PM
Custody service with the use of the bitcoin is quite risky with their organization I guess we know how does the market is volatile or else they have another plan with the bitcoin they hold like for trades or lending
I'm pretty sure they have unique terms and agreements when it comes to services such as managing clients bitcoin, since we all know that crypto's prices are volatile, especially the bitcoin. They must have did it because of the less movement these days from the price of bitcoin, noticeably bitcoin is declaring its floor for the past years and that might be the very reason why this bank offered such services and they know that they are benefiting from it in the future. Also, they know how mind of millionaires are thinking when it comes to money making.

but as a user you will lock their funds with this service is not good I guess they don't have the full authority to their coin and possible market crash might lessen the value of their asset.
I wouldn't accept such offer if that's the case. BUT, I'll accept if there's a vesting period.
464  Local / Pilipinas / Re: PhilHealth under siege: US$300,000 ransom set by Medusa ransomware group on: September 25, 2023, 07:08:19 PM

465  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you deal with financial stress? on: September 25, 2023, 06:47:28 PM
It get to the point where I started fo feel like it's the end of humanity, because if God was tired of use he would have used COVID to erase every human from the Earth, I finally concluded that this life is nothing, we came empty-handed, we will leave empty handed, I braved up and decide to work even harder and not think too much about the future.
Paying respect for you bro. Pandemic is really a mind changing event of our life, that was a very historic moment for everyone of us, we all thought that was the beginning of a chaotic world but it is not. Then the vaccine arrive after a year, some of us are skeptical but I urge my family to have it. Then self realizations came in, if we all survive that Pandemic where millions of people have died then there's no reason to be weak in life, work harder than before, work smarter than anyone, always think about the future.

I do trading and I mine Bitcoin too, so I am making a good amount of money, I don't want to expose myself to more businesses because I won't be able to handle it, instead, I plan to add more Bitcoin miners to my farm soon, though profit wise is down since we are still in a bear market.
We always have the same experience, I trade too during the pandemic, make a couple of money and I can survive the whole week, and just repeated it myself.

466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: September 24, 2023, 10:13:15 PM
No one should gamble because they are looking for ways to to make money and choose gambling. What that will end it is addiction and further loss of money.
I assume there is less than 10% of gamblers that gambles to earn money, and the rest is just for fun.

I think playing for the money is one way of losing it, once you play to earn in gambling then there's a 100% chance of losing and I am not talking about luck, I'm talking about the addicting part of it. Since gambling is all about luck, and casinos are all about business, you'll probably in a spot where it is a lose lose situation.

The best way gamblers can be disciplined is to only have 5% of monthly income for gambling and it should not surpass that amount. This has been the strategy that has been helping me since long time ago till now.
I gamble a lot, virtually and personally and I find it as sort of happiness, just taking your time and playing some slots, card games, etc. but I don't really have that discipline to gamble and make an out after a win. I agree, discipline is one way of avoiding such huge losses in gambling, never play out of your means as it will only lead you to downfall. I've heard/read some stories about gambling and it is very dark that some people are loaning amount that they can never pay even if they win a million in casino.
467  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of war on global economy. on: September 24, 2023, 08:27:09 PM
I have read comments on this post and confirmed that economically, there were more additional lists to consider when talking about the impact of war on global economy.
Ofc there are a lot of effects of wards, from micro to macro economically. It is more than just the economy, being in war is being all.

Regardless of how big or small the war, it is still us who will face and deal with the consequences. Though there are many reasons how a war has started but leaders should think the impact of war on it's economy and people.
Yeah. Unfortunately, people faces the consequences of war and it doesn't bring any pro of being in war. Historically, war restarted the global economy, especially when it happened on two vital playing countries like USA, Russia, and European countries. Leaders won't have that time to think about the impact it will give as they do it for the pride of the country, it's all or nothing after all.
468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin on banking systems. on: September 24, 2023, 06:52:31 PM
Bitcoin is a complete opposite of what is banking does, the general difference of them is bitcoin as decentralized while banking is centralized. In terms of security I must say that banking is way more secured than bitcoin's storage security like wallets and cold storage, and banking does assured its clients to take care of their money including bankruptcy security, while in bitcoin once you lost it you lost it all forever. So all in all, banks does have to prove anything against bitcoin, but the naturality of bitcoin is what makes it on a level of banking system where fees are generally low and people has its power over their assets. Banks and Bitcoin has its own importance in the society, you just need to leverage these two and get the most out of it.
469  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are Technical Indicators useless? on: September 22, 2023, 11:42:59 PM
Now the thing about them not working sometimes. Well, the market doesn't run on calculations or mathematical terms always. Sometimes the market moves on sentiments. It creates trend hype or fear that could lead to irregular movements in the market. A machine or program having no human emotion can not compete or analyze that market condition. So the results could be unexpected. Also, indicators are not a thing that you should rely on so much.
Well trend and hype is what makes the crypto great right? I mean for over the past years you can't technically predict if the market will move up or down, it's all about the sentiment of the buyers. Technical Indicators are tools we could use to help us in trading, but the problem comes in when we interpret the data in front of us. If we know less about the data we have, we'll get overwhelmed with it making our emotions and impulsiveness be involve which is a bad thing. Now I see technical indicators as guide, but I don't really trust it so I make my own researches whenever I'm trading which I found very helpful on my end since technical indicator holds significantly less when whales are moving crushing what you think is going to happen and they reverse it in a minute. You're right, don't rely so much on technical indicators, use it as a guide instead.
470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google Play updates its policies permitting blockchain games and apps on: September 22, 2023, 11:08:00 PM
Although I hate google because they're spyware, but I support this move because P2E games and NFT are completely scam.
What do you mean google is a spyware? This is such a huge accusation for google, in fact you could win a million dollars if you prove that they are a spyware. I think you've been pretty fed up with the ads that you are having while gaming on phone, or getting random emails but that doesn't mean that they are spying on us, it only means that you didn't read all the terms and put a check on every boxes they provided without reading  Grin I don't think they are spyware, they are just opportunist.

If they keep listing P2E games, it will ruin Google Play's reputation too, so it's a win-win solution for both Google Play and the users. After all if those stupid people still want to play this scam games, they can check it by themselves.
Big yes on this, but games on play store does not guarantee any security though they pass at google. Still the developers hold 99% of what's going to happen on that game, say P2E games and NFT, they might just pass google and scam people when it gets huge enough.
471  Economy / Economics / Re: Early Retirement [Pros and Cons] on: September 22, 2023, 05:34:20 PM
People want to retire as soon as possible, thinking they will live a boasting routine of luxury, parties, trips, comfort and constant pleasure. However, most people won't achieve enough money to put all those dreams in practice. So they will have to get used to a life of boredom seated at the couch at home, watching TV and Smartphone content without new experiences, adventures, challenges, conquests and self-realization.
I think "Early Retirement" is a very subjective matter for all of us, while most of people think of early retirement at 30 some may achieve it at 40 and others at 50 it is still depends on how you are managing yourself, your work and the value you have financially. Early retirement is 90% talking about the money or asset you possess, and the 10% is contentment in life. For poor people  they might subject early retirement at 50, middle class at 40 and above middle class at 30ish. But for me Early retirement is just about things that can sustain you, probably a business that generates you enough to live day to day. If you are working on corporate, or office you might find frequent vacation an escape and do not really want to retire early, only if you love your job.

Life is a constant flux. If you attempt stopping that flux you get out of gas to continue living, just like a heart which stops beating once the flux of blood and oxygen are cut. Stagnation leads to diseases, so avoid it at all costs.
Yeah, just live your life and do not let things let you stop even a general mindset to achieve things. Don't get bored!
472  Economy / Economics / Re: How to reduce the price of goods on: September 21, 2023, 02:43:35 PM
Op well that is you point of view but the high cost of living and increase in the food prices and other commodities are very far from what you are saying. Let me start from the taxation. Nigeria is a country of tax free citizens and that means the citizens are not paying tax directly but they are paying tax like any other  country in the world. Now how the Nigerian government tax the citizens. They tax heavily the manufacturing Companies so the manufacturing Companies in return increase the price of food and other commodities so the citizens pay the tax indirectly. Some people are saying that it is because of the importation of goods and the rise of the dollar.

But as for me all those ones are just Secondary to me  and the indirect tax is the cause of the cost of living in the country.

You have pointed out a very good point, citizens of my country also do not pay taxes directly, even small shops do not pay taxes and the government has difficulty collecting taxes directly from the people. But the government does not ignore it and they impose high taxes on companies, that way they collect taxes indirectly from the people.
This is totally different from us, our goods and services are being taxed at 12% called VAT (Value Added Tax), this is one good way to generate taxes from the masses but reflects badly on the poor. The government should start working with the taxes again, revise some tax laws because we're basically using it for a century and the world hasn't been similar for the past 100 years. I think this is also why crypto has been a thing now to the riches, they can easily dodge taxes which is comparably high to the transaction fee on blockchain. If the government impose high taxes on rich people and low taxes to poor people, this will be a new problem for the society making it unfair.

But if there is a monopoly in Nigeria's food industry, that also causes prices to skyrocket. In my country, electricity is a monopoly business model and when they increase electricity prices we have almost no choice but to accept. Monopoly with government support is misery for the people.
I know little about Nigeria, but I do know that they have a high inflation rate. Same with my country, people are having a hard life with less jobs and opportunities.
473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Low cap altcoins best for rising price? on: September 21, 2023, 12:51:58 PM
Are you collecting low cap altcoins for the bull market? It sounds like you think low cap altcoins can easily make 100x profits. I don't think so and even if the supply of a good quality project is high then you will get good profit there. Many new investors tend to follow supply more. You should know that there are many low cap altcoins that can't even sail the market in bull seas.
I don't do it because it's very risky. I have deployed some of my capital in some mid-market cap altcoins but with a very small amount.
Another reason why I am saying risky is because we are still not sure when the bull market will commence and we may still experience more dumps before the bull market.
Low cap altcoins has its potential to grow around 10x, I have already seen that but it is not guaranteed. I think many people, especially new ones are vulnerable to these kind of coins thinking that they would make profit easily with these low cap altcoins. There are a lot of factors to consider when investing with low cap altcoins, like the project, its goal, its potential competition, etc. With the number of coins in the market right now, if you spot the best one then you'll earn, on the other hand, you'll be stuck at it forever, so I suggest stick with an average one, don't be a wishful thinker with the coins you wanna invest, be technical at least with some factors.
474  Economy / Economics / Re: Our future with renewable energy. on: September 20, 2023, 03:47:40 PM
Transition to renewable energy would require a lot, and this is an understatement. Even without even considering if the powerful people would accept these changes. It is possible if there's only one leader on the planet by that time, and he lives up to 200 years. BUT let us say all countries agreed to transform the world to become renewable energy dependent, for sure there will be a model country, a small country that has cheap labor and materials more probably around Asia, then other countries will follow, and so on.

Would this be worth after all if we used non-renewable energy to transform into a renewable energy-dependent world? coz I think for sure that's going to be our only one option to build it.
475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Telegram launches crypto currency wallet. on: September 19, 2023, 10:12:16 PM
I was wondering how safe it would be hence me bringing it here for discussion. So far the telegram platform is very porous and scammers carry out their nefarious act there which makes it not too conducive for most discussions and now Crypto wallet is about to take shape their with one storing or saving his or her assets there. What are the possibility that one can securely safe their assets there without having any issues of scam or hack through telegram hack?
Telegram has become a gathering place for Crypto enthusiasts. Telegram with cryptocurrency is nothing new. However, the problem is Telegram's security. Currently Telegram security is very easy to infiltrate. When Telegram creates a cryptocurrency wallet, there will certainly be lots of hacking attempts.
Or it could be by creating a fake link to the Telegram wallet. I have tried downloading the TON app but I am still not comfortable with the UI of the app.
I chose not to invest in TON but will still put it on my watchlist.
Telegram security is another focus point of discussion. I was thinking if the telegram team could give this security aspect of their app the attention it requires because the rate at which scams, hack and other acts are carried out on the telegram platform is something else.
The news of telegram wallets would trigger more acts from hackers and that would call for more work on the telegram application itself to strengthen the security features so as to prevent hackers gaining access to owners wallet.
I don't think Telegram's wallet is something else, if they made it then its conventional, an in-application wallet. Even if they disclose its full security I doubt many will use it in a day-to-day life. And yup you're right, there are a lot of hackers, scammers, shitty on telegram that will try to track it down so the wallet environment is not safe at all. If they can't secure their platform with a lot of hackers and scammers, I think there should be no debate whether their wallet is safe and secure because it is just a trend-based creation. Just have a look at your telegram, and see how many people are trying to hack you by spamming messages.

If this is not properly taken care of and the hacks becomes obvious I doubt if people would keep the telegram wallet or think of storing their assets on the telegram wallet as everybody considers the safety of their wallet as a priority.
If telegram thought of crypto users will make their wallet as their asset wallet, then it's gonna be down in like a year.
476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin dominace on: September 19, 2023, 07:47:21 PM
History is repeating itself because in the last month of August, BTC dominance crossed 50%, and at that time, the market was also going up, people were saying that this was the start of the bull run, but after that, the market was dumped by the manipulators and the whales. This shows that this might be another bubble to bring more investment into the market. And we also know that when the price of the market increases, many newbies who have listened a lot about halving and bull runs must think that the bull run might have started and they got into FOMO by thinking that they will not get another chance to take entry in the market.
Yeah, it was just all make believe by these whales. I am sure this is not just the first time it crossed over 50%, and this means nothing anymore. Before we are celebrating bitcoin dominance but because there are a lot of coins now in the market, all the money became diverse, and nothing's really surprising about it, not even a cents. Try not to look at it and you will be surprised how it moves parallel to the market situation. Bull or bullish it doesn't matter, it is and it will be always the hype, news, and just whatever and whenever they want to buy BTC.

And they must have made a mistake by taking lump sum entries, which is a big mistake. Because dominance is not an indicator to take entries in the market instead it increases when there is more money in BTC and less in fiat. Alts have some relation to the dominance of the BTC as @Faisal2202 shared a useful pic.
I agree, don't make it as an indicator, again it means nothing anymore. I suggest to look out for more altcoins if you want to buy, but pay respect to BTC and get more than 30% of your portfolio of it.  Grin
477  Economy / Economics / Re: On Apple's $200 billion dump and US shooting itself in the foot on: September 19, 2023, 05:28:25 PM
I remember when Trump tried to ban TikTok as that's a strikeback then against China.
I can still remember how funny the trial/questioning to the CEO of tiktok from the senators of USA, it seems that lack of knowledge from something is chaotic when you have the power to just shut it down forever. Tiktok complied to all they need to operate in most of countries and then USA started questioning about their national security. National security over an application that lets you take a photo of yourself with a filter and record yourself dancing. just wow.

It's always these two that have their own strikebacks hitting each other's economy. While there have been pulling out for the manufacturers from US companies that are being sourced out to China because of cheaper labor. China sees that labor much better to be invested into their own products and workforce that shall contribute more to them for the trade that they export abroad to compete products that have always been from the US. It is true that it's not just tech that China isn't trying to compete but there are such a lot of other industries they're trying to get on like in cars, construction, etc.
China isn't that weak to fight back against USA. I can sense that America is ready for something, like a warfare, so they just starting any conflict with countries. It is a great restart for their economy to avoid crawling against well performing country like China.
478  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Crash may take bitcoin to 1M dollar on: September 16, 2023, 06:56:02 PM
Firstly, USD and the global economy won't crash. Only gullible people think of such doomsday scenarios. Secondly, BTC won't magically rise to a million bucks in such a situation logically speaking.
I might disagree on this one, USD is crashing in such a way that they are controlling everything not to make it totally happen. Global economy heavily rely on US we all know that, though there are countries that might survive if it falls but generally speaking we are all connected to USD. But I agree with the 2nd sentence of yours, BTC won't 'magically' be a million dollar asset *1BTC* but with crypto sky is the limit. I'm not saying that it could be a million dollar asset, but it already happened, just think the growth of BTC compare to its early days, it's been a million times, million percentages. I'm not a BTC guy but respect on this coin who opened this industry.

Tip: Speculating crypto prices shouldn't be taken too seriously thanks to the extremely volatile crypto market.
While speculation might happen, risks should always be handled strategically.
479  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will there be a boom again? on: September 15, 2023, 07:37:57 PM
I do believe that there will be another boom in crypto especially Bitcoin but the question is, when it will be happening?. That's the question we should be finding the answer for it. I didn't even expected before that the price will reach new ATH so, I would say that it may happen in the future. All I can say is we won't be able to predict the market either it will go boom or the opposite. I may not be in crypto for too long but at least, I did experienced gaining profit when it's price is at its lowest price before.
Yeah It's always a question of when but for sure there will another bull running for crypto. This isn't going to be a 'stuck market', we all know it's been volatile. It reached a very impossible all time high back then, not mentioning how many economists said that it won't reach above 20K LOL. But then again we have so called factors to call in the market, crypto has never been as huge as we have it now, so taking another step would take time. If you only wait for the ride, then that won't be very easy you might need your money for personal purposes so I suggest trading crypto with reserves so you'll have rounds when we launch to the MARS.  Cool
480  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If you had AI day trade bitcoin to make profits on: September 15, 2023, 06:19:04 PM
If this is going to generate money easily, I'll find it very sketchy. Despite having the support of an AI, it's still a must to be knowledgeable about how to do it manually.
If if you know how it works it will not be very sketchy at all. AI is proven to be helpful, technically in everything, from finance to healthcare to transportation, etc. there is so much potential in AI but the potential threats also persists. AI could be one powerful tool in trading, I don't use it but if I were to develop one AI use-case then it's definitely worth building around crypto especially in trading where I can make money in a daily basis, I mean thousands of $ everyday.

But if someone proves that he's doing it, maybe there's a catch as that person should keep himself quiet and just enjoy what he's having. Anyway, are there really traders that are making their trades profitable with the use of AI? I don't quite understand how to do that since there are the features already from exchanges that allows you to trade with bots.
This is a topic for a long discussion, just like everything else that gives you a step forward, if I'm benefiting from AI in trading then I won't tell to it anybody as it would only lessen my advantage with the market. Bots and AI must have in one category but I do believe there is a big difference between these 2, and I think is more comprehensive than just bots where you can just configure settings, unlike AI that it has its own reasoning and decision-making efforts.
