Thank you Ashdad for your thoughts. Will think about them...
Meanwhile, I would be happy if someone could clarify, please: When I'm running a Torcoin Wallet, am I also automatically running a Tor node, thus helping the Tor network? I'm interested in any insights...
Yes if you are running on this branch here >> https://github.com/TorCoinProject/torcoin/tree/torThanks for clarification! I think running a Tor node is this coin's greatest strength. It's what separates Torcoin from other coins offering anonymity, I think. I don't see any problem with the name, by the way. The representatives of Tor Project even admitted in a tweet, that Torcoin helps the Tor Network by creating nodes. They have no reason to fight against it. I see some justified criticism also. Every new open-source project should be criticized thoroughly, that's how stuff evolves. When a critic has the motivation of helping and offering insight, I appreciate it. But sometimes when someone presents themselves with the style of "haha, your investment will be worth 1 satoshi and I will be here to laugh at you", then this kind of background noise should be ignored. Didn't you read the above messages? this dev seems have no idea how to set up TOR network for the coin, otherwise he would have provided the onion addresses... or you are just one of his clones, another newbie, lol What's all this FUD about Tor integration? It is 100% finished and has been for a long time. Check the "tor" branch on the github >> https://github.com/TorCoinProject/torcoin/tree/torI haven't merged it with the master branch yet so that people have the option to use Tor or not. Tor may be illegal in some jurisdictions so I figured it is better to let people choose. Are you dumb? do you know how tor works? Even you have tor in the code but do not set up the tor nodes to connect to, what's the point of it? Where are your tor nodes? post their onion addresses ... and I love how you pretended this message doesn't exist

If there's a fork, not too bad for everyone who has bitcoins, as he will get both from either chain, so I'd say the total value won't be that different, if not higher.

If Satoshi reveals himself, won't change anything in the bitcoin, as he is either or not engaged in the bitcoin, just like now.

We have pushed the fixes for the Zerocoin bug into Github. Windows binary is already up and the rest will be up shortly: https://github.com/zcoinofficial/zcoin/releasesPlease update your wallets and nodes as soon as you can. Bittrex trading will re-open at noon PST giving everyone some time to react. Special thanks to Bittrex for being very professional and understanding. Nova Exchange is already updating and should be up immediately once they're done. BTC38 has been informed but trading is still open there. Also shoutout to Suprnova and MPH for also working closely with us and updating in a very timely manner. We will post a more detailed post mortem as soon as we can on the events that has happened and what we will do moving forward. We thank those who supported us during this difficult time. For the latest updates you can always join us on Slack ( http://invite.zcoin.io:3000) or Twitter (@zcoinofficial). interesting typo causing this issue... but, the dev seems just replace if (pubCoinItem.denomination == libzerocoin::ZQ_PEDERSEN && pubCoinItem.id == pubcoinId && pubCoinItem.nHeight != -1) { etc by if (pubCoinItem.denomination == libzerocoin::ZQ_WILLIAMSON && pubCoinItem.id == pubcoinId && pubCoinItem.nHeight != -1) { etc isn't this will cause problem if you sync from scratch?? the correct way is to do a fork at given block height.

Bitland, ICO, Ghana, lol, what a crap!

Exchanges have no moral, they want money, that's all. Bittrex asks for 3-5 bitcoins to be listed, if you pay it, you will get listed even it is a scamcoin, lol.

Frozen you meant banning? Of course government can ban bitcoin, that the bitcoin can only circulate in underground condition and will be illegal.
|
|
|
Its a scam guys. Why are you even bothering?
It looks so, no escrow, no real background and release. Maybe the ico data is also fake. Nothing is real in the project. so many scams, with a newbie or jr member, nothing new (only high level talks, sometimes copy a picture of some famous people), no real name and expertise, no credibility, all they want is bitcoins through ICO. I am wondering how many stupid investors are there?

Bitcoin is the de facto cybercoin, always good to hold.

No country can control bitcoin, it's like no country can control gold. It is a publicly traded commodity and whenever you have money, you can just buy it. China does have the most mining power of the bitcoin though.

The reason cryptocurrency will be successful is because it can do two things that old fiat money can't.
1.) It brings the absence of a central authority that can inflate the currency at will. 2.) It allows distant person-to-person transactions in the absence of an intermediary.
Email obsoleted snail mail correspondence. Cryptocurrency will obsolete fiat money through absence.
Adding to it is the security and tamper-proof which is essential to financial systems.

Yes bitcoin will go to $2000 soon. Fully expect that. Will buy and store more bitcoins!
