DeepVault allows users to determine whether or not a file has been changed or corrupted by enabling hash verification of the file.  Non-technical users:A hash is a random string of characters of fixed length (for example: hello = 2cf24dba5fb0a30e26e83b2ac5b9e29e1b161e5c1fa7425e73043362938b9824, hello1 = 91e9240f415223982edc345532630710e94a7f52cd5f48f5ee1afc555078f0ab). A hash is unique as no two inputs (files or texts) generate the same hash. For instance, hello and hello1 will have completely different hash values as witnessed in the previous example. One use for hashing is the ability to generate the hash of a file. What this means is that the current version of the file is hashed at that moment in time. As previously mentioned, even changing 1 character in the file will generate a completely different hash. This is obviously very useful if you have an important file (such as a legal contract) that you wish to verify its integrity. Upon signing a contract, you could generate its hash using the wallet and store it in the blockchain. You could then check in a few months time that the hash generated earlier matches the current hash of the file. If they match, it means that the file has not been altered and thus the contract is still valid. If they do not match, it means that the file has been altered (if this is a legal document, you need to make sure that someone has not maliciously tampered with it). The benefit of utilising the blockchain is that it is immutable (cannot be changed). That means that when you store the hash, it is available forever and can never be changed. Technical Users:The hash is generated using SHA-256, a current hashing function with no known collisions. The function can also incorporate the user's wallet to provide restriction as to the hash value (a form of cryptographic security). Important:DeepVault is not a file store, it is a hash store. My two cents on what is going on with supertee. He was a good contributor to this project and we must thank him for all that he did, but like every project hes not the sole person working on and everyone has its own ways of thinking. Its looks like he decided to leave and this is the right thing to do when you're not believing in a project anymore. I still strongly believe in this project even with that little bump and will continue to contribute and support it (i'm buying alot of it as well).
Last year i was pretty active in the LISK project and one of the early adopter (and a whale, he had 400 btc) decide to leave the project, he dump all his coins in a single blow which made the price go down 40% (it was on poloniex and bittrex, about 30-50 btc of daily volume on average). He then explain that he didn't believe in the project anymore and wanted to invest himself somewhere else. Of course at that time it hurt the project and the price went bearish for quite a long time. But you need to put everything in perspective now the project is strongly alive and kick ass and it's now in the top 15 crypto standing at a 700M$ marketcap (it was around 12M$ at its bottom).
So you need to put EVERYTHING in perspective and invest yourself in what you believe, it's totaly ok to leave or to stay as long as you take those decisions for yourself.

Very good comments, supertee made his contribution to the community and the dev team treated him pretty well. He dumped 18000+ ONIONs which is an excellent return for what he did. Unfortunately he will miss the incoming boom and rise of the coin. To the best, this is a day-trading and not an investment. With such a good dev team and community, this coin has a long and beautiful way to go, the investment return will be much higher than day trading  |

An interesting idea of a coin. A small number of coins is quite possible the price will be 20,000-40,000s

from november 30 the blocking of tor traffic by isp in the russian federation is expected.
we should take this into account and develop response measures.
Wowsers...Can anybody state what this means for onion owners from those countries, and any potential long term impacts this may have on Onion as a currency? I'm here and I'm not going anywhere, but that sounds pretty freakin crazy for those it potentially affects. This release is interesting for preparing Deeponion users, but by then things can change! In addition, it's necessary to know if the community of these countries that use Deeponion is great because if it's not, it will take time to see some impact on coin. Russia is banning all vpns as well as tor and other proxies. This means they won't be able to use the official wallet, but it doesn't stop them from trading via nova exchange or other methods. Perhaps an escrow service like the one on the official DO forum will also help them. Maybe someone can create a non-tor version of deeponion, this should be totally possible as it is just the transport layer. Then it needs a node that is tor and non tor to sync between the two |

Looks like a good opportunity to check if the registering IP comes from a VPN, this shouldn't be allowed That doesn't make any sense at all? A lot of people who are into crypto use VPNs as a precaution. I don't think dev team will be that dumb to not allow VPN. They have their ways to detect the fraud, which is in everyone's interests. |
