Dream on.  That might be the silicon cost for easic.  But once you add in the board, controller and compoenents, power supply, facilities etc, you will be vastly more expensive than current retail offerings.

As I have said before the power estimates are simply unrealistic.  FPGA hard copies are far less efficient than pure silicon designs.  So imagining that easic will deliver at a lower power consumption than KNC is in the territory of elves and unicorns.

The boards and all of the components involved are really not that expensive. It might add $0.15-$0.25/GH to the total cost. I agree that the power estimates should be higher than KnC, I never said it would be lower. KnC gets between 0.8W/GH - 1.5W/GH We'll probably see 1.2-2W/GH with the FPGA copies.

Regardless, even if the gear was $2/GH cost, gear in hand right now is selling for ~$20/GH (Note I didn't say this would make a profit but it is selling and ActM does sell hardware)
At $2/GH mining will be very profitable for quite a long time at current prices. Arguing against this means you do not have a firm grasp on what will be delivered and when. I call it the sky is falling syndrome.

Wrong.  Go price voltage regulators with reasonable power conversion efficiency.  Those alone will blow your estimates apart.

DC/DC converters are the most expensive part of the board everything else is just about peanuts. No they don't blow anything apart. Guess you need to get better connections.

But yes there is nothing right now and all of this is simply speculation based on the facts we have. Ultimately the trolls will not want to do any sort of reasoning or logic and simply say "Where are da chipz".

If you want to argue if there are chips or not then go ahead, I won't even debate you as I have no idea either but if there are and using the figures given we're still set even if there's nothing until end of February.

Please Mr. Math Wizard edumacate me!

Show me the fantastic cost advantage you will have some day.  Remember to account for:
1.  The vastly lower silicon density of an easic
2.  Easic's markup of silicon costs to AMC
3.  The much higher power consumption of easic, which leads to higher costs for facilities, cooling and operations
4.  The cost of boards, cases and power supplies for chips that are 30x slower than Hashfast and CoinTerra

I did the math back in April.  Hardware at cost does nothing for you when cost is greater than retail pricing for a real 28 nm.

Exactly as I thought. You want others to do the work for you. That's the problem with kids these days.

Thankfully for you, you can go search my past posts in the ActM thread where I did the math based on actual costs for a 28nm that has been confirmed by companies that already have a 28nm. That's the beautiful thing about actually getting off your ass and going to these conferences.

Unless companies start selling hardware for ~$0.30-$0.75/GH and the estimated ~1W/GH of the eASIC chip (which is just about what KnC gets on theirs now) becomes too expensive to run (lol at the billions of difficulty it would have to be at current prices).

I figured I would give you the benefit of the doubt on educating you but it looks like you have made up your mind on ignorance so as I said before continue on your way.

Weekly Update 12/18/13

Crypto-Trade:

I have all of the legal issues worked out, and I am programming them into the verification site.

VMC:

We are working with eASIC and our engineers to get our chip and boards in full production.

We have stock piled all the hardware to build the miners and we are per-assembling the miners.

Quoting this again so you people don't forget.

This is Bullish as fuck

LOL.

You all have been eating too many strange mushrooms.

There is nothing bullish about a promise of inefficient silicon coming someday, when 2 28 nm suppliers are showing pictures of their 30x faster hardware and promising shipment within days.

I thought you kids were delusional back in May.  Now it's just getting to be sad.

I'm just happy you can't do math or understand the basic fundamental principals of having hardware at cost.

Proceed to being ignorant!

I'm having an issue getting one of my chilis built. I am using the CoolerMaster Hyper 212evo cooler with paste vs. pads and the backplate recommended by PhDMiner. Got one built using same parts it works fine but the other one starts to hash, shoots up to 39 GH/s and the temp goes to 70 C and then it shuts down and when the temp gets to 29 C it starts all over again same thing. Have rebuilt it twice should clean off the paste and try pads?

It doesn't actually shut down right? Just keeps saying it on the mining software correct?

This is normal, it keeps throttling until it finally equalizes and is happy. I've had one do it for a couple hours once. Just give it time and it should find the sweet spot!

Plus they photoshop other peoples products,if this is not a scam i dont know what is...

Ok Ok I've had my fun with you,

http://www.easic.com/vmc-uses-easic-to-achieve-24-756-ths-bitcoin-miner/

A Scam it is not, incompetent maybe.

Please go on about how a well known, multi-million dollar company such as eASIC would put this up without being paid or an agreement in place.

It isn't so crazy to hold reservations until solid evidence of the contrary is provided. "Guilty until proven innocent" isn't a bad principle to live by in the Bitcoin world.

I am betting on Ken being legit, but there isn't any proof of him really delivering yet. Nothing personal against him or ActM.

And I keep seeing the eAsic announcement as some sort of validation of legitimacy. All this proves is that Ken is a customer of eAsic.

That is making an ASIC for Bitcoin as per the PR release.

It seems people unfamiliar with the industry think you can just walk in with a bag of money and these companies will make a chip for you. It doesn't work this way. In order for these companies to start designing the backend you have have certain things ready and meet with them. Don't take my word for it, call some of them and just tell them you have millions of dollars and want to make a chip. You will get laughed at.

Don't get me wrong, I do not like or approve of how Ken has decided to run his business thus far, but as far as this being an outright scam. Unlikely.

OK Question time again.....

I'm logged out, and go to my reseller link :  https://www.kncminer.com/?resellerid=122
It shows the re-seller address link path in the address bar as it should... "https://www.kncminer.com/?resellerid=122"
Then I click on the Mining hardware tab...  all looks normal, and the path is changed to "https://www.kncminer.com/categories/miners"
but the reseller path is gone....   Is that normal?   Does it still work to add the orders to my reseller account that way?

Reseller adds a "cookie". That "cookie" follows you through checkout and adds anything you buy to that last reseller link you clicked I believe. Simplest way of putting it.
AAaaahhh!  Okay... Thanks Bar!
Gotta love them Cookies...  yum

Ya, no problem.

Even if I'm mistaken you can always call up KnC and have them "move" the items you purchased over to your reseller ID if for whatever reason they are not showing up.

Edit: They did this during the first batch of Jupiters, not sure if they still do this but I wouldn't see why not.

As far as I know, I don't believe we will ever have a two week holding on new hardware again. I'm fairly certain it was a one time deal to get us kickstarted with these new projects/deals.

It's kinda funny. There seems to be only one place sanity is allowed, either in the general btc market, or the ActM thread. The moment btc prize stabilizes I expect hell to return to this thread. In the mean time however, it warms my heart to see everyone getting along. I am admittedly somewhat confused as to what eASIC has to do with actual chip production, I know that they designed the chip for us, but are they also acting as an intermediary for our foundry or are we dealing with the foundry directly? Also, has there been any word from people who have received their VMC machine(s)?

We don't have a foundry in the traditional sense. eASIC uses their foundry connections as these foundries have to use eASIC's specific wafers (The ones that are already made up with specific layers) to create the chips. So while eASIC is Fabless, you are forced to use their fabs and they put the orders through.

Little tired so hopefully this makes sense.

Just thought I would post this here.

My BFGMiner has been running for a little over 16 Days straight without any issues on the chilis. Once you get these things running, if you don't touch them they seem to have no issues at all.

Great! Product MrTeal/ChipGeek

what happens when these bonds don't sell that labrat put up at 0.1/share is the asic idea dead in the water?

The ASIC is happening regardless of if those shares sell. This is certain. However as Lab Rat said himself, each bond sold helps go directly toward new gear.

If using Eligius, couldn't you just use a separate address for each rig and then scrape the 256 second hashrate to generate alerts?

Eligius has an alert system but it it's still in testing stages. Wizkid said he would be putting it up eventually. Who knows how long that could be Tongue

Have you been shaking the magic 8 ball again?

Guess I might have cheated Tongue

Meanwhile in Picostock world...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=140366.msg4011421#msg4011421

They hit the 1GH/s per share...

Last time i check we are still at ~ 200 MH/s per bonds...less than an USB ASICminer...

Would be good to have an ETA on the next shipment...

Will likely be in January when BFL delivers their first batch of Monarchs

Hello!

Tyrion70 has a certain format he uses each Dividend Payment. I don't have shares in his company but nonetheless his format works and clarifies everything. I also believe they use Eligius so anyone can see their hashrate at anytime.

Here it is unquoted (Using Addictions Numbers) and with some Formatting adjustments of my own:

The Numbers
Balance in wallet: 71.84346116
Still in wallet for non-confirmed shares: 1.63579944

Dividends per share: 0.00020314
Namecoin balance: 850.40650438 (keeping for later)

Comments:
Only 898 shares left to confirm. Bitfunder has transferred all shares to our account and gave us a list of them. If you haven't confirmed please PM us to confirm your payout address.

I'm going to try to make a Word Template that all that has to be done is entering a few of the values and it will generate the code for this Forum. Will post here once finished.

Word Template:
Lab Rat Word Template

Be sure to save it and enable editing when you open it for the Prompt boxes to work.
Click on the 0.000000000's after filling in the prompt boxes and press F9 to refresh them (A macro can do this if you are lazy Tongue)

Should be pretty easy and you can edit it however you like.
Once done just copy paste on here and post!

proof
noun

1. evidence or argument establishing or helping to establish a fact or the truth of a statement.

Taking a screenshot and posting it on a fly by night WordPress site does not constitute as proof.

I and potentially a lot of shareholders in this company would love to see undisputed proof of your claims. It would really help out so if you do have something substantial please bring it forward.
