There is nothing stopping you from making really a massive amounts of transactions on your own chain - and have it merged to the Main Chain when posting it for the witnesses to see.

You didn't mention signatures validation...
Did you forget to mention that Proof-of-Work in IOTA is a waste of energy, and time, since it does not in fact enforce any consensus or even security of the protocol? Due to nature of IoT devices being orders of magnitude less powerful than even normal PCs, and you expect them to run your dumb proof-of-work, waste energy and space. Because.... ? Yeah IOTA still relies on developers deciding consensus with milestones, and still is not on exchanges despite being a year or so in development, and still lacks even basics of smart contracts. Not to mention, requires human intervention to even setup nodes.  Roll Eyes

Do I need to go on?

You're in this thread only because you are glowing red of envious, someone else made something better than you, and you are scared that Byteball will steal your lunch money, so you try to troll it away.

And your trolling is bad, I did mention signature validation, that is verification.

Best DAG-coin ever.

Confirmation and finality times on average are less than 2 minutes for me.

When is the first lottery game coming? Is anyone working on that, "send your bytes to this address and out of all the addresses-which sent bytes, one of them will be given the full amount - casino-maker fee"?

soon.  Grin

can anybody tell about TPS rate and predictable database growth?

There is no TPS set in stone as with bitcoin, where the blocksize basically determines how many transactions you can fit in a block, with Byteball, theoretically it should handle hundreds of thousands tx/s, but today its not optimized at all for this speed.

I guess the upper practical limit is the 12 witnesses, how many transactions they can see (bot dont need to see it at the same time) and post to each other and append to the database, to the main chain.

There is nothing stopping you from making really a massive amounts of transactions on your own chain - and have it merged to the Main Chain when posting it for the witnesses to see. As long as you didnt double-spend, the verification of which witnesses do takes little time compared to what you spend in making the transactions, if all is fine, your chain of massive amount of txs will be in the main chain.

And none of this needs "proof-of-work".

Isnt this nice? Yes, it is.

Just leave me alone dude...

I know why my presence annoys you. And I know how this story will end - you'll create another account and will try to scam another community. I've seen such endings numerous times, few of them, probably, with your participation under other nicknames.
I assure you this is my first and only account on this forum.

But yeah, I may just give up, you seem to be very persistent. You would have driven me away from Iota and away from Byteball, so you win, and you get to stay in this community and watch over it.

EDIT. Yeah Im done, fuck you Come-from-Beyond. Selling my bytes on cryptox.pl, Im out.

Is it because you felt harmed when I asked about your little Iota project? Did I ask uncomfortable questions?  Kiss

No. Your questions were obvious trolling, I followed your previous posts and noticed a lot of red flags in this thread that made me suspect you are preparing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confidence_trick. Now I'm paying increased attention to your posts.
Just leave me alone dude, I asked as technical as I could and other people agreed with concerns, let these readers make up their own mind if it was trolling or not. Read the IOTA Unmoderated thread. Besides your own domsch offered some kind peace, then the other guy called me geriatric alcoholic or something, Ive had enough of you Iota people.

Im not out to get you or anyone, in fact, as I said before, I do not even give a shit about you.

But you are spamming this thread, and you are ruining it for the rest of the people when you begin these pity fights with me, instead of staying on focus and not threatening and spreading distrust.

Are you the king of bitcointalk, your legendary status, does that mean new comers must lick your balls and ask your permission before being allowed to talk in peace? OK, All hail king dictator for life Come-froom-Beyond all knowledgable, all-trustful, protector of users and highly skilled con artist detector, mighty cryptographer, legendary talker and kind benevolent lover. Happy valentines. I love you. You are the best.

Why dont you go and troll somewhere else.

Harmed much? Was it your sockpuppet?
I think you are harmed, by me. Since you are here jumping on every post I make, and now seeing sockpuppets. Dont you have anything better to do than stalking me?

hmm so what happened, i think i have been see you 2 guys here for a long time.
why not meet each other and have a talk? Smiley i can donate some byteball.
Well, basically I asked uncomfortable questions about IOTA, and now the guy is following me around like a bad fart. It is annoying me.

You can even now begin using my witness.

Good joke. Or an attempt to offend us implying our average IQ is in single digits range.
Why dont you go and troll somewhere else.

I for one do not favor a bitcointalk legendary or super-status member to run a witness, such accounts can be bought, that doesnt mean the reputation follows, that portabella is such a newb is in his favor.

Portabella, I ran a witness but few wanted to use it. Good luck anyway. Added.

Is there an official schedule of all upcoming distribution dates (plus the distribution schema) or at least the schedule for the third distribution.
This information would be very helpful to spread the word.
Every full moon. Find the dates when the moon shines in full, that is when bytes are distributed

I want to say a big THANK YOU to tonych for creating Byteball and for his VERY generous distribution method.

.
Generous, fair, just, honorable, visionary.
472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: February 10, 2017, 03:13:57 PM
We'll have our 2nd distribution round under the Full Moon, on 11th of February at 0:33 UTC.
......
Bytes to blackbytes: 1 byte on linked Byteball address gives you 0.21111 blackbytes
......
Blackbytes that remain undistributed because some people didn't move their bytes to the linked address, will be transferred to a development fund which will be used to pay for future promotion and development.
......

Only 78% of bytes are on linked addresses now.  Please make sure your bytes are on the linked BB addresses, otherwise you don't receive blackbytes for them!
Should put a warning/EMPHASIS...

Once you linked your bytes address.

If you ever make a payment, they are moved away! You have to move them back!

It happened to me several times already.

You cant just link once and then go pay other things - the wallet moves your bytes away.

0.62Mbyte= ?  Gbyte       ,,,why  the second  round  distribution is so little?  how many 1btc can get  in the first round ?

0.62 Mb == 0.62x10^-3 Gb == 0.00062 Gb

first round info:
http://transition.byteball.org/firstround.html
0.70663132 btc/Gb

why the second round distribution is so little?
dev's decision + there are many nonzero bb balances that also participate in distribution.
But it is 62.5MB not 0.625MB.

That is 0.062GB, bot 0.0006...

yes,,, it is less than  1/10 fhe frist round ,,what the dev is doing ?
He is creating a new currency and economic platform. Not enriching holders of bitcoin, not enriching ICO holders and other "crypto-world" gangsters.

i think you know the current size of the entire Byteball database, do you? because i still was not able to install a full wallet i don't know. thank you.
It is about 650MB right now.

Witnesses get the transaction fees, my full node wallet hasnt received any meaningful amount of fees.

thank you. i hope that i will be able so set up a full wallet on my raspberry as soon as i am back home an have access to it. but i have to admit, that i am a GUI-user and have to learn a lot.

to set up a full wallet. do i need to follow these steps?
https://github.com/byteball/byteball
i tried it with my macbook. but i was not able to launch the wallet.
i struggled here:
Quote
Then run Byteball desktop client:

/path/to/your/nwjs/nwjs

Or is this all only for building the light wallet?

i feel a bit ashamed to ask these questions....

No need to feel ashamed this is new to many here me too.

Ive seen someone mention writing a guide on running these components, relay hub witness and headless wallet, get in touch with them they are on slack, even just getting input from you what happens when you follow the guide would be very helpful.

Yes, the byteball/byteball is for building the full and light wallets and can build android app.

You can use on raspberry pi byteball/byteball-relay or -hub of you want to help the network. Headless-byteball if you want to send payments programmatically and also help network.

Are Iota and Byteball the only cryptocurrencies using DAG algorithm? Is there any thread to discuss this tech and cryptos using it?
It would be interesting to see, since this thread is more focused on Iota.
Make the thread yourself. Third dagcoin is SPECTRE.
478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: February 09, 2017, 02:39:14 PM
only thing that prevents me from linking my BTC is that it shows the address publicly on http://transition.byteball.org/
i do not like thatt

why do we have to publish the addresses public?

i think we trust the byteball team by now to not fake numbers.

adding to this, you can't really say you are a "private untraceable payment" whenever you can link a bitcoin address to every byteball address that has ever been created??
You dont have to make a microtransaction, you can sign a message. That way, unless someone is looking for your address on transition.byteball.org they wont even know you had "activity" on your address.

Also, the private untraceable payments are not done with the native currency bytes, but with an asset called blackbytes, and those have been distributed according to the first link, but henceafter transferring blackbytes between addresses in untraceable and not stored in public database.
479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: February 09, 2017, 11:15:29 AM
I was reading Gavin Wood's polkadot paper and came across this:

"Tangle [17] —becomes impractical."

How does byteball deal with arbitrary state changes?
Byteball has the ball its in the name, that is the global state, witnesses decide it. Witnesses decide ordering of units. This is not "the tangle" where developers decide the consensus with milestones and snapshots.

Witnesses do not decide ordering of units.  Ordering is determined by the algorithm that looks back at the witnesses-authored units in the DAG.
Thanks for the correction, and even better explanation.

The important thing to note in relevance to the quote which spurred discussion, is that there is an ordering.

You are again spreading lies. I bet you'll play chicken if I ask you to put your money where your mouth is.  Cheesy
Why are you still here?

You had ample opportunity to explain all my concerns in the IOTA Unmoderated thread - which you didnt, instead you, and iotatoken guy, again attacked me verbally and domsch fake acted nicely without in any way addressing technical concerns. And no selling vaporware and imaginary future where it will magically work doesnt count as a good answer.

Ive seen what shit you write about Byteball in your slack channel - now there we can talk about FUD and lies.
