4723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Vote] Decred. Genius Innovation or Utter Shitcoin? on: February 27, 2016, 05:08:53 AM
Quote
...

soooo this is all you can come up with for calling it a shitcoin? really?

Here is a brief incomplete summary of the shittiness of this shitcoin.

1) A massive premine. The signature of people who don't quite get what coins are about.

2) An NGO mentality. The signature of people who want to get paid for appearing to do something great that they are not actually doing. If you strip away the charming words like "governance", "progressive", etc, all that is left is bullshit.

3) Airdrop. A cheap way to buy allies, bribe strangers. A reputable crowd would not throw dollar bills. You can justify it by saying "xyz coin did it", but it bodes poorly for the coin.

4) Zero substantial innovation, beyond fluff stuff. The coin really adds nothing useful. It only claims to, in very eloquent language.

5) The one, single, only thing that gives the project some credibility is the list of projects that some of those devs were involved in. It looks like some of them were involved in big projects in the past. This coin will continuously need a massive inflow of money to keep it looking shiny to investors and the public. At some point, as more coins are mined, the expense will exceed the return and the house of cards will fall.

lol ok, so where does MZC and Maryjanecoin fit in that mentality? Either you are butt hurt or stupid... I cannot decide which.

You are sort of right about MZC and MARYJ.

MZC I still support because I like the idea of a Native American currency.

MARYJ I tried to support but got put off when the dev started deleting critical comments.

i was trying to not get involved until i read  "MZC I still support because I like the idea of a Native American currency."...u support that crackr payu harris, lol and his cronies, anon pirate and boxxa...gd luck , suppose u also believe his latest pump attempt saying ...he will be lakota nation mayor ,lol  and as for premine dammn payu got a shitload of mzc ready to dump on your ass daily.
And aswell as myself , many of my bitcointalk and twitter friends recieved 282 dcr as promised ( over 200 people afaik) , so stop talking shit about devs keeping the airdrop.
Either your butthurt u didnt get any coins or you want to buy cheap, why else would you create and monitor this forum?  ( no need to answer )  Tongue

02/21/16 03:47 PM CST - Proof-of-stake (PoS) mining is now active starting at block 4,096! Please keep your stake mining wallet unlocked and online 24/7 or you will miss an opportunity to be rewarded for your vote. A mainnet stake pool is forthcoming to circumvent the constraints of solo stake mining.

Has anyone set up POS yet? what kind of reward are you getting?
if all sounds gd...ill get ready for MR P mode   Grin

Informed decisions with what we've got....

April 07, 2013, 12:05:12 AM

that date alone derives tremendous value. This project had an almost three year gestation period. (for your viewing pleasure https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=169204.0)

read the ANN

read it again.

Look at the people behind it.

Look at how it has been managed so far.

Look at the github, follow links.. etc

If we base the list at coinmarketcap on merit.... well, let's just say I bought more btc with fiat which I had not done in a long time....................... Of course that's just me

Decred has actually a reasonable value for a technically interesting coin with active developers and a new POS/POW security concept. It is comparable with coins like Monero or NEM that try something different.

I predict it will go higher and lower, but not by orders of magnitude. It will swing between 0.002 and 0.01 BTC for a while. In the long run, it can be perfectly a top ten coin if the concept proves to have advantages with respect to the NXT or Peercoin approach.

the reasons iv been buyin are similar... Grin, i see it easy breakin 0.01 in next few weeks and polo prob will b listing it soon. when they do , b prepared for sum big buy walls, there will b no more cheap dcr

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/augur/ wow
afaik this is the first ETH dapp token on cmcap, soon slockit and my fav plutus will follow.  Eventually there will be hundreds (thousands) eth dapps....i think this could be the end for most btc style altcoins, that offer promises that mostly never happen and are just speculation pnd's. With the dapp system the creator must first make the idea work before it gains any value.  Smiley
Also the more dapps, the better for ETH long term as all the dapps need ETH to survive so they can operate. Wink
imagine if all the alts never had their own blockchain and  relied on btc blockchain , btc would be worth 100x more today.

Confirming Grin a newly announced partnership with Slock.it, a tech company working on smart contracts based on ethereum’s functionality, including “a smart contract that allows users to rent the station, put up a deposit, charge their [electronic] car, then get their deposit back.”, a representative of RWE stated:

“We are looking into improving the [electronic vehicle] charging customer experience while reducing infrastructure costs from many different perspectives by the use of smart contracts. We will eliminate backend systems, reduce system complexity and establish an open[ing] for entirely new charging use cases for all kind of electric vehicles.”

RWE, a gas and electricity provider with 30 million customers and billions in revenue revealed to Blockcy that they are taking a keen interest in utilizing smart contract technology to save costs and increase convenience for their customers.

"to insure that everyone gets to participate at the best rate possible. For this we'll make sure the sale duration is at least a month, and we'll keep the price of Slock token the same for say, a week and half. This way, only people who went offline for an entire week and half would be a (slight) disadvantage. If this sounds familiar, it should, as it's also how Ethereum proceeded.
As I mentioned in my blog today, DAO smart contracts can only currently hold ether, so the most direct way to participate will always be through ether" Founder Slockit.

Anthony from Kryptokit here. Today, our new cross-platform Ethereum & Bitcoin wallet, Jaxx, launches in Android Tablet format. In keeping with the other versions of Jaxx, the Android tablet version offers a single-page, intuitive UI, with the added benefit of a new landscape layout that takes full advantage of the larger screen dimensions. We’ve also updated all other versions of Jaxx (iOS mobile and tablet, Android mobile, Chrome and Firefox extensions) to 0.0.9 with the latest fixes.
As we continue to unify the Bitcoin and Ethereum experience across devices, the Android tablet version marks the sixth Jaxx release. The next phase of our roll-out will be the simultaneous launch of three desktop versions: Windows, Mac, and Linux on Feburary 25th, two days from now.

Smart contracts today may be similar to e-commerce in the 1990s – poised for widespread adoption and explosive growth even though it may still be a few years off. So, to avoid surprises or missed opportunities, it may be worthwhile to start now to consider and explore the possible applications of smart contracts to your industry and business.

"By using blockchain you make this stuff really easy to on-board partners because there is no API. And RWE can subsidise the stations in exchange for using their energy, which is another thing they are very keen on," added Tual.
"Once we have finalised this prototype with them of the charging station which is currently running in our office in Germany, we are going to deploy a fleet of 60 electric vehicles and take it from there."
