4742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Odds comparison on: July 01, 2020, 08:59:02 PM
Very useful tool, thanks for sharing it. I seen many similar websites comparing odds on fiat sportsbooks, but I haven't seen resource where lines on crypto sportsbooks compared. Usually I don't jump between many sportsbooks to make a bet, but when difference is big, why not to try maximize possible profit. But as I understand, they don't offer comparison for live games, because I can't find games that is currently in play. Such thing would great.
And I see just few football leagues on their website and few other kind of sports, for example there is no basketball. But maybe it's because there is not much competitions in play because of pandemy and they are listing just major football leagues.
4743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you lend your cryptocurrencies? on: July 01, 2020, 08:27:45 PM
I thought about lending my BTC here on Bitcointalk. But I'm afraid to be scammed and forgot about such idea.
I mean with proper collateral deals it seems rather safe, no?
Yes, but as @Taskford explained, proper collateral doesn't remove all risks. As imagine that most of lenders have experience when they got scammed and loan was defaulted. And if you look at Lending section, you'll see that there is not so many peoppe offering proper collateral.
4744  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin.org , in danger of being compromised?? on: July 01, 2020, 08:02:43 PM
Cobra is mysterious and Theymos is not?  Huh How about satoshi?  Cheesy
Well, yeah, theymos is mysterious too, but at least we know his stance and that he is pro-Bitcoin, while there is more questions about Cobra.
just because someone has a different opinion than you, it is not a reason to not-trust them even if that opinion were wrong.
conversely having the same opinion as you doesn't make someone trustworthy (wolf in sheep clothing).
[/quote]
You're right. But when owner of Bitcoin.org website makes pro BCH tweets, it gives some doubts about that personality
The thing though, is that it isn't. It doesn't matter whether Cobra or theymos has ownership, you can never write off the possibility that it becomes compromised. I get that it can suck to have no "official" Bitcoin resource, but that's probably for the best -- look at @Bitcoin on twitter and how much drama that used to cause (well it still does but on the opposite camp now lol).

And since it seems like you're lobbying for theymos, it may be relevant to show his insight on a similar matter:
Very good point! Words "official" and "Bitcoin" probably shouldn't be used in same sentence. There is no thing like official Bitcoin website, forum, wallet or Twitter account. Such things is just impossible when we talk about decentralized currency. The problem is that people consider these resources as official websites and they 100% trust in information that they found there.
And I wouldn't call it as lobbying. I just used theymos as example, who would be more suitable to run Bitcoin.org in my opinion in hypotetical situation
4745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: July 01, 2020, 07:36:14 PM
Damn, I can't believe that after such long wait season finally will begin in few days. How much time we been waiting? Let me count... 7 months... And it will be strange season especially because thst we know that some drivers will leave their current teams after this season. I'm almost sure that Ferrari will favor Leclerc against Vettel most of time and probably it will be tough season for Seb.
.....reminds me very much of M. Schumacher, where the same agreement was made and up until today we don't really know how he is doing and it can be assumed, that he until now didn't recover very much, but is stable on a low level. Lets hope the best for Zanardi.
I thought same and it's worrying thing. Now we just have to hope that he will recover...
4746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: July 01, 2020, 07:25:48 PM
Sigh. We dominated, had so many shots, possession etc but Atletico reminded Barca of what they did against Liverpool and it worked too. 1 own goal and 1 penalty, Messi won't want to remember this 700th goal landmark at all, all that for 1 point.

Title is Real Madrid's to lose now.
Yeah, actually we didn't played bad yesterday, but it wasn't enough. I still have questions about second Atletico penalty and I can't understand why they didn't even made VAR review. Now everything is in Madrid hands. 2 next games against Getafe and Athletic will be crucial for them. If they will win both, there will be no doubts who will win league.

I am not entirely sure whats wrong with Barcelona, but they are not doing great not only right now but also not doing great for the future as well with weird transfers as well. I think they are not going to be proper team for a while. Every one of their players that matters became over 33 this year with most of the good ones over 30, and we are talking about getting another 30 year old and they are not even contending for championship this year anymore with how they are playing and getting bad results.

Anyone thinks this season was the officially start of the end for their messi era of awesomeness and they are going to have a big trouble for next certain amount of years and not going to be great anymore (by barcelona standarts, definitely top 3 in la liga) and will find their new system and players after certain years? Or will they just be like Madrid after Ronaldo and just continue to dominate?
Messi is still good and if there will be injuries, he still can play in top level for few years. But the problem is that Barca simply have no strategy for upcoming few years and our transfer policy shows it. You have good point about age of our key players, they are getting old and our board is failing to find replacement for them. It feels that our team is turning into joke like MU or Milan. Now I'm just waiting until president election next year and I hope that new board will move club in right direction.
And I just remind that Real struggled a lot during first season after Ronaldo departure. Same will happen after Messi era in Barcelona. It's impossible that teams after loss of best players in this century will remain in same level.
4747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: June 30, 2020, 09:27:01 PM
Penalty? WTF? How it's possible to give such penalty? Where is VAR? It's just ridiculous!
4748  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin.org , in danger of being compromised?? on: June 30, 2020, 09:04:33 PM
Bad news. It's not fun to read about disagreement. Cobra is mysterious person and I don't have big trust in him. Especially after these tweets mentioned above in past. It's bad that theymos don't have control of Bitcoin.org...
Cobra shown his plan to sell the bitcoin.org and Roger Ver popped up to make a bid.  Roll Eyes
And it would be disaster. We already lost Bitcoin.com and it have very big roll in misleading people. What if Bitcoin.org would appear in Ver hands too? Now Bitcoin.org is one of first websites visited by people when they enter word "Bitcoin" in Google search and where they can get unbiased, non-commercial information about Bitcoin. It works almost like official website of Bitcoin.
4749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where are the Bitcoin PTCs, PPM, PPC and RevAdShare Sites gone? on: June 30, 2020, 07:42:06 PM
Such websites still exists, but obviously, best time of it is already in past. And it's not about just Bitcoin websites, but all these kind of websites in general. Time is changing and such earning methods becomes obsolete. Before I started to use Bitcoin, I used lot of PTC, Surfing and similar websites and I earned my first money online there. It was good for me as beginner, but in general, it's not the best way to make money. So, less people is interested in it.
I think this type of websites were seriously hit by bounties few years ago. It was much more profitable than various PTC and it was possible to earn good money from bounties, so people just switched there. And despite that bounties is shit nowadays, people don't look back at PTC's.
I think we can add faucets in same order with your mentioned websites. Yes, there is still many faucets online, but it's waste of time now and you hardly can make money from it. While few years ago it was possible to earn decent money from faucets without struggling

Shouldn't Draw be the winner for the FA Cup match between Manchester United and Norwich City?

It was 1-1 FT and Man U scored the winning goal in extra time
Yes, it should be draw. If match goes to extra time or penalties, on all bookmakers it counts as draw. Did Freebitco.in awarded win to these who had bet on MU win?

yes they counted Man U as the winner. I'm still trying to understand why

If they were just going to award the winner then it's highly misleading to make the draw an option. There can't possibly be a draw if extra time and/or penalties are going to count

At the very least I think they should refund anyone who bet the draw but I still feel like I should have won that.  Sad
Indeed, it's strange. @TheQuin, maybe you can tell something about this situation? Maybe they count match winner with extra time included, but I doubt about it.

Just saying, yesterday, Freebitcoin suspended my account, while i made several deposits before, accusing me to cheating and creating multi accounts. (my referrals, i guess) (I believe they are suspended too)
so be aware, never make a deposit and be sure with your referals.
Yeah, they banned you just to steal some Satoshi from your account... They are usually banning accounts without any reason when user did nothing wrong. *Sarcasm
4751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: June 30, 2020, 07:02:33 PM
Tonight is crucial game for us. Loss or draw would mean that we have no real chances to become champions. I'm worried before the game, Atletico looks good after quarantine, though they achieve difficult wins in their usual style. On the other hand, we are really good at home this season, lost just 2 points in total so far.
In other game, Mallorca is trashing Celta 5:1 at 65 minute. Did anyone expected this, especially after last Celta game with Barca?

Just checked my bookie and saw Barcelona to WIN @1.89!! wut? Shocked when was the last time you saw such odds for Barca?
Week ago when we played with Sevilla Smiley.

Has anyone noticed Bitcoin logo on advertisements boards in stadium? It's Etoro advertisement if I'm not mistaken. So, seems that Watford isn't only team in EPL which have Bitcoin related sponsor Smiley.

I have seen it many times during the season even before the Corona break. I believe it isn't a sponsor of some club but a commercial which gets shown on the boards during different games.
Yeah, I remember that I saw ads of few crypto exchanges before pandemy, but can't recall their names. But if we talk about Etoro, they are sponsors of Crystal Palace:
https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/2019/august/palace-renew-terms-with-etoro2/
Anyway, it's good to see that Bitcoin getting significant exposure during EPL games.

It's boring game so far, but I didn't expected something exciting here. Strange that Ayew didn't god red card (even yellow) for his elbow punch.

I heard about BlockFi, but haven't tried to use it. 8.5% interest doesn't sounds bad, but there is few reasons why I'm staying away from lending platforms.
First, yeah, they looking reputable, but I'm not going to trust big number of my BTC to third party website where I don't have full control of my coins. Offcourse, you can invest small amount of BTC, but it's just not worth, because profit will be insignificant while same risks remain.
And KYC requirements is another reason. As I understand, BlockFi requires KYC and I don't really want to pass in order to lend my money.
I thought about lending my BTC here on Bitcointalk. But I'm afraid to be scammed and forgot about such idea.

So, it's official, Barca sold Arthur to Juventus for 72 millions, plus 10 million euros in variables...

I just can't understand out transfer policy. And still, more than year remains until Barca president election. I can't wait until Berttomeu will leave club
4756  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTCpay Server: A Real e-Commerce Game Changer? on: June 28, 2020, 08:29:37 PM
Bitpay's days are numbered, wouldn't you agree?
I'd love if it would be true, because IMO Bitpay is worst payment service, but it's not going to happen soon I think. Bitpay is very popular and if so many people use them, probably it means that they are satisfied with it. And I think that other services like Coinpayments or Coingate isn't bad at all.
BTCpayServer is great decentralized alternative, but it's not well known. And they don't have deep pockets for marketing like their competitors.
And probably it's not for everyone. Running full node, converting Bitcoins to fiat - it's extra hassle. While most businnes prefer simplicity and convenience.
4757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin.com forum closes ?? on: June 28, 2020, 07:54:55 PM
It would be good if they close whole Bitcoin.com, not just forum. It's described as one of most popular crypto forums, but c'mon, look at it, it looks like ghost forum with minimal activity there. It's not popular at all, so probably there is not many reasons for Ver to keep it. They will focus on other platforms to promote BCH.
Though, Ver said that this message was posted without his consent and they aren't going to close forum. https://cointelegraph.com/news/oops-roger-ver-says-bitcoincoms-forum-closure-post-was-premature
But message is still there...

According to Similarweb.com,Bitcointalk.org has around 2.28 million pageviews per month, while Bitcoin.com has 3.3 million pageviews per month. You can check Similarweb.com,if you want.
I'm not sure how accurate the similarweb data is,but I was kinda surprised of the results.
Bitcoin.com seems a little bit more popular than Bitcointalk.org,but that's because of the better domain name.
Bitcoin newbies would trust a forum called Bitcoin.com more than Bitcointalk, unfortunately.
What's weird is the monthly traffic of Bitcoin.com increased from 1.9M to 3.1M views in February-March 2020.This is because of the pandemic,I guess.
I doubt that big part of these millions visit Bitcoin.com. Most of them probably goes to News.Bitcoin.com or using their exchange or wallet. So, we shouldn't be surprised about big number of visitors on Ver website.

@YOSHIE, I think that problem is somewhere on your device, it's not forum issue. I remember that when I had old PC, I was getting similar things on other websites some times, but I'm not really sure what caused this problem.
4760  Other / Meta / Re: The curious case of the forum member distrusting Satoshi on: June 27, 2020, 10:52:30 PM
I'm actually surprised that there is just one negative feedback on satoshi profile. Don't understand me wrong, but we all know that forum is full of trolls, haters, BCH shills and toxic users in general, so it's a bit strange.
About this case, I doubt there is serious reason behind it. Maybe user just wanted to "play" with trust system a bit or wanted just to get attention to his name by distrusting satoshi. It would be interesting to read his response about it.
