And it is also workin on mobile, although not looking too good, yet.

Very nice job!! I would love to send some Nxt, but I am on mobile. I could send btc via blockchain, or fiat via paypal. There is a lon way to go for Nxt, but it looks promising!

mcjavar, this is still in testnet, so you can ask for testnxt here and try out the web client, do not use your real passphrase with the site.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.msg5430573#msg5430573

I know. What I wanted to say is that we need a webclient which is also usa le from mobile phone.

you mean something like https://nextcoin.org/index.php?topic=797.0 ?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.nextcoin.nxtclient&hl=en

Doesn't seem to be in development anymore...but it works...I've used it to check my account every once in a while. I don't trust the sending of NXT though on it though.

An "automated gateway" for NXT is just a decentralized exchange right?

Would it be possible to get it to look as much like an Exchange (think Bter, Cryptsy, etc.) as possible? Or is that not what an automated gateway would look like? Keep it simple and understandable for everyone that trades on the other exchanges.

If I have it all wrong...then sorry haha  Tongue

I believe that trade will take place in NXT asset exchange (AE). Some clients support AE (on testnet now): http://www.nxtclient.org/

ah okay.

And wow so many new clients lol...still remember when Alias's were still in development and all the fun with that Tongue

At least use a different abbreviation or something. Like SNC(Sky-Net Coin) or something like that.

New version of my Nxt client online at http://nxtra.org/nxt-client/

I will provide a downloadable version over the weekend that can be tested via localhost as well.

Lots of new enhancements.

- Everything updates automatically now, including the asset exchange. When a new block ccomes in the AE is refreshed to see if there are new bid or ask orders.
- Assets can be grouped, just right click on the asset column, and choose add to group (see screenshot below).
- Inclusion of "tentative" messages all over. These are shown until the transaction is confirmed.
- Contacts added. You can send to contacts as well.
- User info, just click on a user ID and you get to see transactions / aliases and assets owned.
- More stuff that I forgot.

Below are some screenshots, if you like this, please consider donating to 8189784314684138350  - thank you!

Grain is a POW/POS meaning you would do POW along with having POS at the same time. Just like Peercoin. The problem with Grain at least for a short while was POS was giving difficulty spikes to the POW miners. Wonder if something like KGW would have helped that.

People will still have to mine Mintcoin to secure the network so POW will never end for Mintcoin.

490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm dumping Nxt and here's why you should too on: February 28, 2014, 09:42:39 AM
Just like NEM - make a thread, let people pay some coins (not too many), let it run for few weeks and the divide the NXTs between everyone who has take a part in an IPO.

Guess you weren't into NXT during the original thread release? Since that is exactly how it went.

NXT's investment timeframe was run for 6 weeks (lateSept - early Nov). Only 73 people were interested in it, which is why there was only 73 original stakeholders with amounts invested between .00000001-1 BTC. The rest of the posters called scam or didn't believe in it. BCNext called it off early at 21 BTC for who knows why... might have been the "21" type of feeling aka 21=21,000,000(total ever BTC created) type of look. Or maybe BCNext worrying about too many multiple buy-ins, or something else.

The only people that call it unfair now is those that missed out on it. Especially when the price was still 1BTC = 1M NXT during the first 1-2 weeks AFTER NXT was released.

You can have fun reading the original thread if you want: Smiley https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=303898.0
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 28, 2014, 09:32:15 AM
The two top 50M accounts!! What is their deal? Why are they not sharing their wealth or participating in the progress of their investment. I mean if we consider that the account No. 3 and No. 4 are DGEX and BTER that means they have almost double amount of coins compared to account No. 5 which has about 29M. That is a huge difference. Honestly I would be really ashamed if I was them and I am sure these two 50M amounts are poke in the eye to any new investor that looks our distribution just like they are poking my eye.

Heck, to start at least get your accounts under 50M so they are in the 40s or divide this 50M into two accounts of 25M, it will definitely look better for newcomers.
I really don't understand this!!

The #1 holder seems stingy with his NXT, but the 2nd one seems to be doing much more interactions with other accounts.

At this point maybe they are waiting for more volume to do anything with their NXT. They can't sell even half without it being considered a HUGE dump on any of the exchanges. IMO the same effect as when a major stock holder in a corporation tries to "cash out" will happen in this case, meaning a HUGE drop in price will occur. At least it shows they believe in NXT enough to not dump NXT into oblivion.

Also...Satoshi owns 1M of the 21M BitCoins ever to be created...so...yeah  Smiley. I have a feeling BCNext owns at least one of the top 20'ish accounts since he invested 1 BTC too during the beginning phase. I wish Litecoin or Bitcoin's blockchain explorer would show the top accounts for each, just think how BAD those would be lol  Tongue...

Compared to early on when NXT was just getting started, the amount of accounts with less than 10M in the top accounts has dramatically increased. So NXT is getting there if anything
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KARM] Karmacoin - 6 Exchanges - Rewards about to change - Get in now on: February 28, 2014, 09:12:29 AM
i have a problem with my wallet...

someone knows why?
it is the latest version of wallet.
it is also stuck at block 29001

I had the same problem when my blockchain got corrupted.. you can safely delete the blocks and chain state directories and re-download the blockchain.
its only 105MB at the moment.

in windows your Karma files are located here by default..

C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Karmacoin

make sure you backup your wallet.dat and whatever you do, do not delete wallet.dat.. (all your keys are in there!)

how can i backup my wallet.dat?
and from where i download the blockchain?

just make a copy of it ... and keep it somewhere safe (make sure you encrypt it first though using encrypt wallet in the KarmaCoin Client)

the client (Karmacoin-QT) will download the blockchain automatically when you start it up again...
i deleted the blocks and chain state and re loaded them. it is stuck again at block 29000.
same problem. i cant take out my coins from there!

I would suggest copying the wallet.dat file from your "Roaming/Karmacoin" somewhere safe. Deleting the particular "Karmacoin" folder and re-click your Karmacoin-qt. Delete the wallet.dat file that was newly created during the process located in your "Roaming/Karmacoin" folder and place the old wallet.dat(that you saved somewhere safe) in it's place. Your coins are safe in your wallet.dat file if anything.

Best way to start "clean" imo I've done it whenever I had trouble with a wallet.

did you try all the different board themes with nxtcrypto?
Maybe I'll look for it and'll try it someday. I like use things "as is" very often.

well if you ever decide to and have an account there.

Its https://forums.nxtcrypto.org/ucp.php -> "Board Preferences" -> "My board style:" -> Then just look through the 5 different styles available.

GET out of nxt fast, hughe red flags

Its over NXT is dead, if you want some money back dump right now cos when whales start to dump it will be at 0 in seconds.

reasons why to dump

community not capable to take over the project
AE not working

client posponed again and again
promissed features not developed
nobody understand the code
epic failing marketing
lot of other stuff going on get out fast

Where's your dump(s) that were supposed to happen again and again?

Please dump. I have BTCs at the ready

 Cheesy

Welcome to the wonderful world of non-native speakers.

Sometimes it can sound blunt, but we try to be nice, even if sometimes we hit each other over the head with stuff.

Mostly we're just pumped and enthousiastic Smiley

Yup Smiley

Have to remember this forum doesn't just include English-native speakers and as they say text can be taken a variety of ways.

Question to the pro's here:

How much nxt do I reasonably need for forging? I am a bit confused. My estimated block generation time always changes with every new block...

100k+ NXT or so in my view (which is still very inconsistent to calculate consistent return).

Don't view forging as something where you will make load of NXT on. View it as helping secure the network. Same thing will happen when any bitcoin-like crypto reaches their max supply cap where they have to help secure the network and get paid in transaction fee's. I view forging blocks like winning a very tiny lottery until we have more transactions happening often.

If you have a low amount of NXT I would suggest joining nxtio.org (forging pool) and send your NXT there to forge if you want to have satisfaction of an increasing NXT amount(although very very tiny increase). Unless we ever getting leased forging method.

Thank you!
It would be helpful If I would see my forging rate in the client like: 0.000xxxx NXT / Day. With the current XXX Days to create next block always changing every minute I cannot deal with.

just remember you don't get partial NXT if you forge a block (you will get 0/1 or more NXT not .01/.1/etc. NXT). Nxtio.org has something like that but that's the only way you will see something like that. Someone else can explain why the time is there, as I am horrible at explaining things...
