Is the Sofort deposit method something you are working on or should it be active now?

Reactivating sofort requires opening a bank account with sofort themselves and also a local polish account. I put in the applications early last week so hopefully it won't be too much longer before it can be enabled again.

there is something wrong with the profit/loss at the 'bet with satoshidice' page.

What is wrong with it?

Almost finished with the "pirate speak" translation, Piuk, is there a way I can send it to you do do some tests?

Sure, open a pull request and I will test it.

Piuk,

If I go to Account Settings and set another language, I'll be disconnected, being necessary to login again.

Why?

Could you change it?

This is not possible to change as the language text is part of the html page which requires refreshing to change.

Quick sidenote, not sure if this is the right place to ask but, is there an available api for fetching info on wins/losses on satoshi dice? It would be cool to make something like this - http://www.instructables.com/id/Twitter-Mood-Light-The-Worlds-Mood-in-a-Box/ with the wins and losses effecting the color  Wink

This api is undocumented but you could call /walletprofitloss to calculate the difference between the amount sent from an input address to a destination address and the  amount returned from the destination address to the input address. Multiple addresses separated with |

http://blockchain.info/walletprofitloss?input_address=1A8JiWcwvpY7tAopUkSnGuEYHmzGYfZPiq&output_address=1dice97ECuByXAvqXpaYzSaQuPVvrtmz6| 1dicegEArYHgbwQZhvr5G9Ah2s7SFuW1y

total_received - total_sent = "profit"

I'm missing the list of mining pools that have seen an unconfirmed tx in the "Transaction Summary".
It was there before the last big change of the site.

btw.:
[...] is there an available api for fetching info on wins/losses on satoshi dice?
Have you looked at the actual satoshidice.com website?  The link is on top of blockchain's
satoshi-bet chart.

second btw.:
According to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=92829.msg1286465#msg1286465 the btcdice has
been "temporarily taken down", and there hasn't been a word since about being back. Also, btcdice.com
has a "down for maintenance"-banner.
Maybe, the btcdice-plugin should be removed for the time being, or at least a warning-banner
added to the bet-chart.

btcdice has been removed. The mining pool ip addresses are missing because I haven't been updating them as much.

Have you looked into it ?
I think it's an important feature for a wallet to send what its told to, not some other random amount Smiley

This will need to be fixed in the next update.

Does anyone else gets altered balance if anonymous transaction is used?

I'd like to send exactly X amount, but destination address gets X.something

Example:

I enter exactly 10btc to be sent anonymously... the receiver gets 10.0001 btc.

Is this a bug?

This has been fixed now.

Would you consider extending your taint analysis tool by some tagging functionality? Maybe add an input box next to every address to link the address to some entity/website/forum post? The collected information could be presented on mouse-over with up/down vote buttons to sort multiple references.

I suggested something like that as a stand-alone page but of course you already have the most interesting part in place. You could even charge money for tagging Wink I mean seriously if people could add any advertisement to highly visible addresses, charging money could be justified as a spam counter measure. People feeling strong about linking an address to some page will easily be willing to pay one dollar. (And please add sort by fees next to the default sort by votes)

I like the idea of tagging. Moderation would have to be in place though otherwise scammers could tag their address "Mt.Gox Deposit Address" and convince newbies to deposit there.

Ben, I saw many pages back you mentioned a new version of the android wallet app that fixes the crashing on tablets.. any ETA when it'll be available?

Hopefully soon, I have been quite ill this past week and haven't had the will to finish it.

So what happens to the amount remaining if I am sending less than the available input(s) used?  Is it returned back to that address from the private key?

Yeah, the change will be returned to the sending address.

Hi piuk, can you please add Czech language to translations? I will translate it.
Thanks.

I will gladly add Czech if you are able translate it. Basically this file needs translating https://github.com/blockchain/Blockchain-Translations/blob/master/language.json. As a side note, I got a quote from a professional translation service to do the entire site and they wanted £52k! So any help with translations is greatly appreciated.

would be nice if I, sending BTC, could just enter the name of the recipient (as it is saved in my adress book) into the target adress field.

in the android app, this works.

This should work, do you not get an auto complete drop down?

what exactly is going on here?
Quote
Yes, I make my living as a fraudster, so I have decided to share some money with you... LOL

Quote
Yes, I'm fraudster and I make money by scamming idiots around the world, so I have decided to share some of my money with you, losers. Cheesy

These are public notes that you can include with transactions using the Custom Send form. I guess the address 1FRAUD belongs to a scammer, very subtle Smiley

Hi Piuk,
I tried the 'phone deposit' and it works fine. I just had a wtf moment with "you can use this service max 3 times per month"
why's that, please?

Steal someones phone -> Buy lots of bitcoins -> Owner reports phone stolen -> Operator reverses transactions -> Owner gets money back -> Scammer keeps BTC -> We lose.

For this reason the amount you can purchase has to be heavily limited.

Updates

- New tool to import wallet.dat https://blockchain.info/wallet/import-wallet
- Limit on number of addresses increased to 1000. The limit on addresses generated using the API will be removed shortly.
- PingIt limit increased to £500.
- Lots of bug fixes.

Just to update, the user upgraded their browser and the problem was resolved.
483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Customer sent bitcoins to a deposit address he can't retrieve . on: November 10, 2012, 02:37:48 PM
You can import the Bitcoin-Qt wallet.dat into a new blockchain wallet using this tool https://blockchain.info/wallet/import-wallet

Otherwise pywallet (https://github.com/joric/pywallet) is needed to dump the private keys.
484  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: blockchain.info/wallet bug report on: November 10, 2012, 11:35:55 AM
this is my main receiving address
1FnHoaG7aUajUqMF6vW37rcvngBtaYL7xj

thanks

I can't see any unusual outputs at that address, is that the only bitcoin address with a positive balance?
485  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: blockchain.info/wallet bug report on: November 10, 2012, 11:00:05 AM
"Error: Encountered non-standard scriptPubKey" means you have received a transaction containing a non standard transaction output. Please post your bitcoin address and I can take a further look.
486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: i somehow had a double spend on: November 09, 2012, 08:30:16 PM
I'm not sure if this was a double spend received from btcjam or a double spend caused by sending from the wallet. But if this occurs again normally you just have to wait an hour or so for one of the transactions to confirm and things resolve themselves.
487  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: nervous freak lost his coins through blockchain? on: November 06, 2012, 09:55:53 PM
Some transactions have been delayed through the mixer recently due to distribution caused by someone trying to double spend and generally being a nuisance. I put some transactions on hold that I thought were related to the double spending addresses. Apologies to any legitimate users that had transactions delayed.

Modifications have been made to ensure that input transactions that take a long time to confirm do not cause problems for other transactions.

488  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: November 01, 2012, 01:49:16 AM
Couple of updates:

- Improved synchronisation to prevent double spends from occurring when submitting a high volume of transactions.
- Merchant API now supports compressed private keys.
- Fee parameter added to send API.
- Ability to supply a private key directly to the API to send funds without needing a My Wallet account.
- Improvements to Bitcoind status monitoring (https://blockchain.info/status_check). Recently two nodes feel behind causing an error "cannot find map prev tx" error when trying to submit certain transactions.

Cash deposits should be available again on Thursday. http://blog.bitinstant.com/blog/2012/10/29/recent-service-disruption-and-new-features.html
490  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is there a script or online API to sign/send transactions without bitcoind? on: October 30, 2012, 09:37:11 PM
I have been meaning to add this ability to the blockchain.info API for a while. You can now replace the guid in the send api (https://blockchain.info/api/api_send) with a Hex encoded private key.

https://blockchain.info/merchant/4d6c9dff493fcd2da9508e01c8b13461d37e3d8b6df1732942d3257874051362/payment?to=$address&amount=$amount

$address = destination bitcoin address.
$amount = amount to send in satoshi.

491  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: So how on earth am I supposed to get bitcoins in the UK? on: October 30, 2012, 01:54:36 PM
For those unable to use PingIt we now also offer an instant bank transfer option. Limits apply.
492  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: October 30, 2012, 11:27:26 AM
piuk, can you reveal the volume going through your anonymizer? More specifically, I'm wondering how many bitcoins can realistically come from the same source per day without those coins getting mixed with themselves.

Coins will never be mixed with themselves, they will just sit until clean funds are available. So If you start sending through enough funds that transactions are getting significantly delayed then you are hitting the limits. However the bonus can be activated to get everything moved through.

The (you received) value is exacly = (value at time of transaction). This happens even on old transactions. Sometimes if I click again to open the transaction summary, the value show correctly.

Thanks, i will look into it. Also thank you for the suggestions, I will revisit them soon.

I was wondering when you would be running into this issue since I first saw the explicit Rubics-white-center-with-text but how about fixing the white center and changing the hue of the whole thing? Or making two center pieces blue? With 2 center pieces of the same color it would obviously not be a Rubics cube Wink

It's not bad, but it still has the amateurish look of the original logo. I've given everyones feedback to the designer, lets see if he can come up with something better.

Testing New Deposit Method

Instant bank transfers now available from Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

https://blockchain.info/wallet/deposit-bank-transfer

Bitinstant cash deposits have been removed temporarily. For updates see http://blog.bitinstant.com.

-----------

Edit: First few orders processed. However EUR and PLN have been disabled for the moment while I wait for clarification from sofort on an issue.

493  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: October 29, 2012, 01:03:55 PM
Old one is way better. Is the rubix cube copyrighted?

Yes, that is why a new one is needed. It's not urgent though.
494  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: October 28, 2012, 02:50:14 PM
A couple fixes to the translations for Greek:

Thanks, I'll update them shortly.

piuk,

I think will be interesting have on wallet home tab a mini pie chart showing the % of my final balance separated by:

1- The % of transactions of final balance that now is more valuable than the time when transactions happened.
2- The % of transactions of final balance that now is less valuable than the time when transactions happened.

What do you think?

For what purposed? For traders? I can certainly add it as a popup, it would be too expensive to calculate for the home tab.

--------

Feedback wanted on possible new logo. What one is better?

vs original:

495  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: October 27, 2012, 11:23:14 PM
Does the iPhone app round sent amounts somehow ?

If I'm trying to send say 1.23456789 by scanning a Bitcoin URI what actually get sent is 1.23456700

Not sure, need to look into it.

---------

Versioned Wallet Backups

The last 50 updates to a wallets are now stored remotely on Amazon S3. This is in addition to the latest wallet being synchronously stored on all 4 of blockchain.info's servers and offsite database dumps taken every 24 hours. Wallets on S3 are encrypted with the users password, second password, our secret and encrypted by amazon itself.

In addition to providing much improved redundancy, should any mistakes be made (for example the wrong private key is deleted) backups can now be restored easily from S3 in the [Import / Export] tab.

496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain.info acount hacked while using yubikey.... on: October 27, 2012, 10:29:04 PM
Upon checking the past few days of access logs the OP's wallet was only accessed from his home IP and browser. Also the transaction in question was not made through the My Wallet interface (once a hacker has access to an account I don't know why they would go to the trouble of exporting the private keys before emptying the wallet).

This leads me to believe the most probable scenario is the Users dropbox account was compromised and the wallet backup taken directly from there. Prehaps reusing the same password somewhere else?

I have disabled Mt.Gox yubikeys for new wallets now. It was introduced before Google Authenticator and SMS two factor authentication were available, these are better options now.
497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain.info acount hacked while using yubikey.... on: October 27, 2012, 04:13:17 PM
I think you should stop "supporting" mtgox key while you can't really support it. At least you should let users know it is not keylogger-proof

It is better than no yubikey, expecially if the password is reused on other sites. Besides it might not even be related to the yubikey. The attacker might have got access to the OP's wallet backup.
498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain.info acount hacked while using yubikey.... on: October 27, 2012, 04:02:25 PM
Sorry to hear this OP. Can you email me your wallet identifier wallet@blockchain.info.

Here are the Bitcoin Block Explorer ledgers for those addresses:
http://www.filedropper.com/ledgers

Awesome, thanks Theymos.

Both seem to be the same.
500  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Satoshi\blockchain Transactions disappeared on: October 26, 2012, 08:49:21 PM
I haven't. Helloworld was trying to help me last night and he said he noticed something off, that I had a lot of missing transactions on page two of my wallet.

18hNNj9v2Pa4W7ufEj41thyGSdG6YteeZp

And then another,

1FzZq9g2kEqz4NcUdJVKyAcobBqNfPXihQ

Is there a specific transaction you think should be there but isn't? Since blockexplorer.com won't show the ledger it is difficult to find another source which can be used to check it against. One thing you could try is importing the private key to Bitcoin-Qt and letting the blockchain download, then compare the final balance (See "Desktop Sync" in the Import / Export section of blockchain.info).

I am running our Blockchain validator program however occurrences of the database getting out of sync are rare nowadays.
