Well... you're early for the Star Wars Day promo... however, that doesn't stop me from sending you a bonus for another reason . You are the current "low hash rate block finder" winner - which is a contest I just made up right now . As the winner, you get 1 BTC. TxID: e12f1259a35e4c96471b95faa8e0d68a3976ba8c30c69b42e2ddfd18f1a940cc Enjoy!

Block 410081 found by our beer-loving miner . 1615 transactions and 25.29549461 BTC. Yup, another full block. 2016-05-03 20:56:22 [Pool] [bitcoin] (Thread 5) Block found: 0000000000000000059da3259f801e3c03537ac69983c4c5a53ac0f94fe6007b by YuenglingDude.worker7 2016-05-03 20:56:22 [Pool] [bitcoin] (Thread 5) Share accepted at diff 4157.12462888/195786992412.29281616 by YuenglingDude.worker7
This represents the lowest hash rate finding of a block (with ~40TH/s). Is that your own gear, or a rental?

I have a quick question...
I was moving a couple other mining machines over to the pool yesterday (S7's) and the efficiency rate literally started plummeting (to it's current level of 86%).
This was around 4:45PM Eastern Time.
I quickly pointed everything over to kano -- and it is fine.
I was using the 3333 port.
Isn't the efficiency rate related to my miners somehow? The pool efficiency rate seems good.
Could this just be normal while they ramp up in power?
Just curious.
Your efficiency rating is the percentage of valid and invalid shares. Looking through the logs, I see a ton of rejected shares for traxor.worker3. Even to the point of triggering the banning code (majority of previous 500 shares are rejected). The behavior started to occur around 2016-05-02 21:00 UTC. I notice a bunch of "Authorized traxor.worker3" messages in a row - which is weird in and of itself - and then afterwards the rejects start coming in droves. Prior to that you had only the occasional reject, which is far more in line with typical behavior.

Hmmm... well, I figure you're from somewhere across the pond... likely in the UK somewhere. I know the film wasn't released until the end of January, 1978 in the UK (except for London, where it was released end of December, 1977). That only accounts for 8 months, though. The latest original release of the film in 1979 occurred in Turkey, Poland and Hungary, which would account for seeing the 2 year difference. Of course, I'm assuming by your statement that you first saw the film in 1979. I don't have any idea what your tip about "iron" means, which is why my guess is probably completely wrong

Again a great incentive, Jonny!! tonight @midnight if i understand correctly?
May the force be with us :-)
Correct. It starts at midnight east tonight and lasts 24 hours. First star wars movie brings back fond memories for me. I was 20. Living at an Aunt's home in Stony Brook Long Island while I went to college. I had an Uncle and Aunt that lived on Shoreham ,Long Island they had six kids. I stuffed myself and all six cousins in my 1968 Delmont and we went to see it. car was big really big here is a photo of one I found online . Mine was pale yellow in color. https://i.imgur.com/FZJtZdM.jpgI was 6, and even by that tender age I was into sci-fi and loved everything to do with outer space. My mother knew how much I was into it, so she and her sister packed me and my 3 cousins into the station wagon and we all headed to the movie theater to see the movie. I remember just being awestruck by the entire thing. Star Wars is pretty much the first movie I really remember seeing in the theater. I had so many Star Wars related toys... action figures, X-wing fighters, Millennium Falcon, Death Star, light sabers, blasters... my room was pretty much completely filled with Star Wars gear . I've since seen every Star Wars film more times than I can count. I've seen every remake and remastered version. I went to the theaters to see them again when they were re-released. I've read a ton of the expanded universe stuff and have played or owned pretty much every video game associated to Star Wars.

So any new contests or promotions for this round? Maybe the 1 BTC bonus for under 100% and the 1 BTC kicker for the 5T or bigger share on solve? Your solve was 216B so no bonus for you.. There actually is a promo, I just haven't announced it yet . So... here are the details: Tomorrow is unofficially known as Star Wars Day. Yes, I'm old enough to have seen ANH when it was originally released in the theater, and yes, I did indeed see it when it came out. Yes, Han did shoot first - no matter what BS Lucas has tried to spin since then. In honor of Star Wars Day, everyone who solves a block tomorrow from 00:00:00 EDT to 23:59:59 EDT will receive 1.977 BTC as a bonus from me. Figure out the reason for the bonus value yourself .

You nailed it. On BCM your shares are valid for one block. On mine they are valid for 5 blocks. All things being equal, if your total submitted shares on each pool were the same, you'd receive one payment from BCM for the block. You'd receive 5 payments from my pool. At the end, you'd have made the same amount of coin from each pool.

...Your total payable shares as of last round was 1.016B...
Did you meant 1.016 BTC? I guess I just don't understand this math because looking at block 409838 here gave me single 0.0410 BTC comparing to single 0.0297 BTC at bravo for block 409094 where I mined with more miners and rental. I know latest block at Bravo gave me another 0.0287BTC without mining and probably next one will pay something similar as well, but it still puzzles me that long left BCM paid more per block. Can you point me where I can see my submitted shares? Nope... I meant 1.016 billion shares that were paid for your mining. As Laviathon just pointed out, our payout methods are both PPLNS, but my N value is much larger than his. You actually got it right in the part I bolded in your quote. You can see exactly how your shares are broken down by logging into the pool, and going to the Statistics->Round section. There, in the search boxes enter your name. For this last block, you submitted exactly 6,633,863 valid shares. That brought your total payable shares up to 1,016,865,514. You take that number and divide it by the total PPLNS shares for the round (893,225,685,913) and multiply it by the block reward (25.20779969). The key point here is the PPLNS shares and how YOUR shares compare to that number. As I stated in my previous post, had you submitted the same 6,633,863 shares on BCM as you did on my pool, you would have earned only 0.00046003 BTC. The reason is because of N. Let's say a block was found right now on both my pool and BCM. On my pool you would make very close to that 0.0287 BTC you made from the last block. Even though you are not currently mining on my pool. Making more sense I hope?

There is absolutely no magic about it. It's all math. My N value is considerably larger than BCMonster. That means the payable shares window is also considerably larger.
You submitted virtually no shares this past block on my pool - yet you were still paid for your shares from previous ones.
Last block, you submitted a total of 6.6M shares. Your total payable shares as of last round was 1.016B.
EDIT: looking at your stats on BCM, you submitted 592M shares this round. Had you only submitted the same 6.6M shares as you did on my pool, you would have earned 0.00046003283334BTC here.

Under 2 hours to go... wonder if I'll be giving away some BTC tonight

That's a fun idea... Sure. If the share that finds the block is greater than 5T, the finder gets an additional 1 BTC .
