I see we are currently working on block 393008, which matches up with what shows on the block explorers.  It does sometimes take a couple of seconds for the front end to get updated; however, the stratum servers are updated and start new work immediately on notification of the block change.
1062  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / NOMP and duplicate share submission on: January 12, 2016, 02:03:18 PM
Hey everyone,

I run a NOMP/MPOS Bitcoin mining pool and have seen a number of issues related to duplicate share submission and the resolutions to address them.  Can somebody post a log snippet of what that would look like?

Also, to implement the fixes, is it just a matter of making the change in the appropriate JS files and restarting the stratum servers, or are there then some other steps that need to be taken?

Thanks in advance!
1063  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Please Check out my Web Front and Provide Feedback! on: January 12, 2016, 05:55:34 AM
Looks like an MPOS front end that's been tweaked.  I like the work you've done on it.  Clean colors and nice layout.
1064  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) on: January 12, 2016, 02:47:26 AM
For everyone who has not opted for auto payouts please do a manual withdrawal.  With the potential of an attack against the pool I want you all to withdraw your balances.  That way if an attack is successful the attacker won't gain anything.

Done.
1067  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) on: January 11, 2016, 09:43:36 PM
All,

I'm going to restart the stratum server.  Your miners will fail over.  It'll be about 2 minutes.
1068  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) on: January 11, 2016, 09:38:48 PM
Is anybody on here user "uphellper" on my pool?  They just registered and I'm seeing some odd stuff in the logs from them...
1069  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) on: January 11, 2016, 08:28:35 PM
Thanks for the compliments, and I agree wholeheartedly regarding the keyboard-tough.  Makes me wish that Hollywood tech was real and I could backtrace the guys who post these things and have the Hulk show up on his doorstep Tongue
1070  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9 PH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: January 11, 2016, 08:16:00 PM
No clue... even if the guy does attack my pool and get in, the pool's liquid assets don't even cover the ransom demand he made.  Pretty sure he stands to make a whopping 0.03BTC or so... pretty sure he'll be spending considerably more to attack than he'd dream of making back from succeeding in it.

By the way... it was our second block Smiley.
1071  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) on: January 11, 2016, 08:12:27 PM
Seriously... those guys must be bored out of their minds or exceptionally desperate to make a couple bucks.  As for protection, I've got minimal access to the pool's servers.  The database is not exposed to any outside ports, only allowing connections from internal private IPs.  I've modified the stratum code to address known exploits.  I know the user accounts, and who's actually hashed on my pool.  I take regular snapshots of the database and will ensure I grab one prior to the time mentioned in the threat.

I'm hopeful this is nothing more than an empty threat.  I guess we'll find out tomorrow.
1072  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) on: January 11, 2016, 07:53:10 PM
Well... it appears I've gotten notice.  I saw I had a new PM, so I read it.  In an effort to be fully transparent with the miners on my pool, here is the message I received:

I find it incredibly absurd that somebody would target this pool for any kind of attack.  We've found 2 blocks and the pool's liquid assets aren't even worth the ransom this guy is demanding.

Please make sure you've got a backup configured just in case this attack does occur.

I am really sorry for what I had stupidly remarked earlier. I was in bad temper due to some personal problems and I just bombarded it here too! Embarrassed So I take back my rude remark.

Btw congrats to kilo17 for this achievement. At least I got some share for his ultimate effort. I am also thinking of coming back here and sharing some of my powers to repent for my remark.

Also I have one question before I start: Suppose I have a valid share of 100K today. Will those shares become zero after 15 days if I do not mine from tomorrow and a block is not found within 15 days? And will I get paid for all the shares if I mine everyday until a block is found?

I have read his post (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1293193.msg13337241#msg13337241) but if Jonny can help me make that explanation more simpler for me. (I know he is angry with me but I'm really sorry for what happened earlier Sad )
Hi Indianacoin,

First, I'd like to clear something up: I am not angry with you.  I was simply correcting things you stated that were untrue.  This pool has found 2 blocks since I started it; both blocks were under 100% of expected shares.  The first block was found at 27.41% and the second block found this morning was at 88.27%.  The pool's total luck so far is 161.38% (113,383,403,265 actual shares of 182,982,721,716 expected shares).

Also, I tried explaining how PPLNS works in another post here on this thread.  You can find that explanation here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1293193.msg13342849#msg13342849.  Hopefully that'll help you out.

Congrats kilo17!  I am about to get on a plane but will send you the bonus prize later today.
1079  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) - Phil's Birthday Promo! on: January 10, 2016, 05:06:11 PM
That's happened a few times now... and just for the record again, I am not the jbravo user on kano's pool.  My user account there is the same as it is here on the forum: jonnybravo0311.

Don't forget everyone... today Phil is running a promo on top of the one I've already got going!  If you find a block before 9pm EST today, in addition to the 1.5BTC bonus from me, Phil will also be giving a prize worth at least 0.1BTC to the block finder.

Let's crack that block!!!

Just checked the S3 that I've had here for a few weeks now.

Best share : 97,158,966

DO BETTER LITTLE GUY!   I should probably give him some spinach or something Smiley

Maybe some chicken soup for the little guy will cheer him up Wink

Best Regards

LOL wrong pool.  I think the chicken only works over at Kano's Smiley

Yes but the magical beer may work here too! Or can't hurt that is for sure!
LOL... let kano have his chicken.  This pool is all about the whisky and beer Tongue
