485  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I cant get stratum to work,help on: December 02, 2012, 01:12:17 AM

    I downloaded mining_proxy_1.1.1exe and GUIMiner-v2012-11-18.

My GUIMiner  is:  Server: Other                 Website: n/a
                             Host: localhost:8332          Port: 8332
                      Username: myusername      Password: .......

the bottom says: Value Error: need more than 1 value to unpack

Proxy black window keeps saying: 2012-12-01 19:02:04,259 INFO proxy client_service.handle_event # New job 7984 for prevhash  82946d6a, clean_jobs=False

I am working on 1 rig,I have 4 other rigs mining on GUIMiner  v2012-02-19.Do i have to stop them?Do all the rigs have to run miner proxy? How does proxy know how to connect to bitcoin.cz?

I've tried to set  this up several times with no luck,I could use a little help. Thanks

The other rings need to point to that "localhosts" IP in order for them them get the information they need, also make sure you have  the other GUI miner updated to 2012-11-18 as that is when strantum was implemented on that thing.....

Generosity, I guess. Smiley

I'm not normally much of a panhandler for free money but one never complains if one can get some Grin so... if you fancy shipping me BTC0,005 or something just for spits and giggles, then go for your life! Address is in my .sig. If not, I don't blame ya, 'cause TANSTAAFL and all that technicality.

LoL I can't even make a Sig yet... so I cant brag about 1PtHcavXoakgNkQfEQdvnvEksEY2NvwaLM  but i think that the thread might be dead

489  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Give away/request free bitcoins here! on: December 01, 2012, 11:28:46 PM
Edit: I'm done watching this thread for now, so I'll leave it for anybody else that wants to offer free money!

(Note for free givers: the smallest useful payment to send someone is .001BTC since the client transaction fee is 0.0005)
(note for requesters: don't make this a begging thread, look thru the thread and see if someone else is giving away their money)

-----

I want to send some free coins since the bitcoin faucet is dry, so for a free 0.01BTC payment:

1. be an actual forum newbie (jr member and you'll get a micropayment)
2. be registered before the time of this post (so one faker doesn't get them all)
3. post your bitcoin address or have it in your signature

Preferred:
You have never received bitcoins before, you've got bitcoin running and it's gotten blocks up to 133000 already, and you'll reply here that you got them.

Optional:
pay it forward

0. bal3wolf - first post charity sent
1. XonX - sent
2. vipersilver - sent
x. BitCoinBarter - sent a token amount
3. Quetzalcoatl_ - sent
x. x0Jakeyboy0x - send a token
4. malevolent - sent
5. ikilled - sent
6. mcyhanick - sent
x. Bitslizer - sent a token
x. BTC Economist - sent a token
7. Pyr0 - sent
8. ohdivino - sent
x. googo! - sent a token (you registered 5 minutes ago)
9. Infinity1 - sent
10. - taget - last noob gets his coins!

So What i should do is:
Post this: 1PtHcavXoakgNkQfEQdvnvEksEY2NvwaLM

Hope someone ins Generous, then pay it forward? Smiley

491  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Daily Free Newbie Lotto on: December 01, 2012, 10:18:06 PM
Here is how this new lotto will work.

If you are a newbie1 and you make a comment in this thread, even if it is just to say "thanks" or "hello", include a bitcoin address in the main
area of the post, or explicitly point to it in your signature ( don't PM me or make me search for it ), and I will number it and add it to a database.

Every time I do my check on these free bitcoin sites ( usually daily ) I will use a random number generator to pick one entry from that
database and use that address in the check of the sites for that particular day2.

Your address will stay in the database and have a chance of being chosen in every draw ( usually daily ).
One address per account please. I will reply to your post to confirm that I have added it to the database.
Make sure to submit an address that you will not be using in your own daily check of these sites or else it may be rejected by
many of these sites.

Here is the contents of the db so far ( This is an example of how it looks right now. I won't come back to this post to update this list
but just update the database itself ):

1 karlzt    1E9gnhT4DY1gPxDFNg1ptR3Z5RCzmGchJr
2 textish    1N8pBiXqLPD27y2v2od44PM7daLXsLqfde
3 jonflow   1JBXDbc5DEN65syn8xXfeeEZfWURZ1pL4
4 bachus   1o1zuero29orZxs8CsZ2Gzep5NPFT463a
5 KB5988   1EHozR4b2HWAfkGYp7kdcGEXyL82vbJZmR

If you aren't on that list and feel you should be I hope you will know how to get added.   Wink
If you are on the list and would like to be removed just let me know in this thread or by PM.

Any questions or suggestions?

1 I will try not to be too strict in the definition of "newbie"... I hope something like common sense will prevail and someone who has been here
for months and posted hundreds of times will understand the spirit of this as being to welcome and help out new members of the community,
and so will not apply.

2 I won't use the chosen address in hourly checks of sites that give out BTC hourly. Just one check per site and if the site happens to be
down or rejects the address for any reason that will just be that address owner's bad luck... next time that address gets chosen, and there
is a good chance of that with so few entries so far, you may have better luck.  Also some sites do one time payouts or give out MTGox codes
or require sign-ups or downloads etc... I won't use the chosen address for sites like that.

This contest may change or be discontinued at any time. I will try to announce ahead of time if something like that happens.

So I am Evan, and I think I get Bitcoins at 1PtHcavXoakgNkQfEQdvnvEksEY2NvwaLM
