What's impressive is that the vast majority of miners didn't bail out on the pool. Anyone that leaves a pool with a history like this one over 1 red block is an idiot. we are down from 40-41 ph to 34.6 ph most of that is rentals as most people can not handle a long cold streak if their gear is all rental. I am lucky to have about 32ph at very power cost pointed here. If we get real cold I can leave my hard gear pointed and not sweat it. But when we are this cold over a 50 block period I need to lower my rentals. I got a feeling I should rent big real soon. Sitting where we are right now. I'm half tempted to start a rental. It could pay very well if our luck starts changing now. Picking the bottom is always tough. @Mikestang: well, it's been more than 1 red block recently, but I agree with you 100% @Sierra8561: Picking the bottom is indeed difficult because it's just a random guess. Several poor days in a row does not make a good day more likely...but heck...taking a shot is part of the fun Good luck to all who decide to ramp up rentals and thanks for helping the pool! My inner miner is telling me to go for it. Fingers crossed lets get some blocks!!

Received my first working s7 single fan unit today. I place it with all of my dual fan s7's. Interestingly enough it actually runs 1-2 degrees cooler than the two fan units.

Does anyone know what the record longest time between blocks on Kano is?

PayPal should simply allow you to fund your account with bitcoin. Just like they do with dollars, euros etc.

i think people is scared about if bitcoin will be dead when they start investing in bitcoin and in trade i think that people don't trade with bitcoin because you don't know who is the customer so it have a high risk of scam so that is why some people don't use btc
In my opinion only very few exchanges have made the users to get into loss with their fraudulent activity. Now most exchanges had got a trusted network of users. I agree. Bitcoin just keeps getting better and better.

What does that added node do?
Is it necessary? Does it gain anything to run for the pool?
I run a node in NEW JERESY. would it help pool to configure it in a special way. I'm curious as well. All I know is I run three Mac minis and 3 pcs windows 7 So the Mac mini runs the node . It is really easy to run costs close to zero power. I do not mind doing any thing on that Mac mini as it is not used much. The other two macs are used a lot as are the three pcs. Oh I forgot about the forth pc it runs Linux That was really easy to set up.

One thing to consider is the mining community has significant costs associated with mining bitcoin. Being a miner myself I wouldn't sale my bitcoins at a loss. I'm sure the rest of the mining community feels the same way. I think that has helped bitcoin become not nearly as volatile as it use to be.

I was in the exact same situation and decided to go for it. Big promises have been made about the 14nm miners but nothing has come to light and I bet we are fall before we see anything. By then my s7 at the prices they currently are will have made me money.
Thanks for the reply, Mind my asking when you got them? They are on their way. I was fortunate enough to have some kind people on the forum donate me some $100.00 off coupons so that helped.

Hey,
I am thinking about ordering two S7's with power supplies.
Still think it's worth it? Or better off just waiting for the S9?
Thanks,

I noticed it the day it came out. I updated all of my miners with no problem. I can't tell a difference so I'm not sure what changed.

How stupid, Blockchain has the orphaned block flagged as a double spend, You'd think they would have the software written to recognize the difference. Oh Well, maybe it's time for another payout addy anyhow.......
The day after the last orphan we had a big block party. Maybe that will happen again.

Looks like the great firewall and chinese mining got us again This is the 3rd time that I can remember this happening. Does anyone know why they get it every time? Ugh... Starting to feel like I might need to give up on these rentals then. That block was a little mini-savior. Losing way too much on them at this point... I do rent from time to time. Renting certainly is a tough game with slim margins. Good luck to you. Thanks! It's definitely risky, I knew that going in. Just luck swinging the other way for now (for me) - I did well last time, about a month or so ago. The time even before that I did a much longer stint, closer to a month and it also worked out with a small profit. This time, the 471% followed closely by the 411% and then 295% block right after put me in a hole. It's made these past few reddish blocks bite a little harder than they normally would. I always make sure to leave emotion and impulsive decisions out of it. If you rely on the fact that Kano.is has performed above average from day one and you stay consistent in what you are doing. Profit will come.

what horrible timing to start a bitcoin mining farm..
you do know you have about 70 days left before the block reward halving making all those miners useless?
Well, not exactly. It depends on the Bitcoin price, right? If all the prices, like of electricity, miners, etc. stay same but the price of Bitcoin will rise then it might be not useless to mine them. your logic is flawed.. if you are 'hoping' for the price to increase he would be better off putting all the upfront money directly into bitcoin and hold it.. as the miners WILL NOT make that much in the 70 or so days he has left to mine. in the end, its a horrible time to invest in bitcoin miners.. he should have done research and waited for next gen machines. Only time will tell. Maybe us little guys will never have the opportunity for the next gen miner. After halving the price without a doubt will need to rise significantly for mining to be profitable without next gen equipment.
