Bitcoin To Reach $1 Million In Next 90 Days? Ex-Coinbase CTO Bets His Net Worth
https://coingape.com/bitcoin-news-bitcoin-to-reach-1-million-in-next-90-days-ex-coinbase-cto-bets-his-net-worth/

What is he basing this off of?

As much as I love Bitcoin, its definitely not going to reach 1 million in just 90 days. Maybe in a few years, sure. But not in 90 days. Those kinds of volatile volumes are a thing of the past when Bitcoin was still in its baby shoes. This is just a publicity gag. They probably have already signed a secret contract...

Cmon now....

Yeah I agree…the only way I see 1 million in 90 days is a total world wide bank collapse! The USA would do an epic bailout before that happens imo…The banking system is in rough shape and the Domino Bank Debacle (DBD) is just getting started so time will tell…
40-50k$ is more realistic imo

If we go way up 🆙 in the next ninety days we will pass 100k easy peasy. No so sure we simply dump in next 30 days.

Frankly if we go to 100k in may JJG will be right and I won’t be ready for uppity.
4902  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2023 Diff thread now opened. on: March 18, 2023, 02:38:50 PM
What if we earn half as much this diff change coz that would be great to help all the other miners in the world ... ... ... not happening.

The long term result for that miner is total less income than not doing it.

Only if he does not have other gear to point at.

Simple example

1 s19pro 100 th 3100 watts  earns $7.50 for 3100 watts

4 L3+ 2gh 3100 watts earns $7.50 in btc pointed at nicehash.

Now small example above but I am convinced gear swapping  happens.

My Argument is a one megawatt farm of older cheap gear that he swaps considering btc per watt.

Old s17 and old L3+ you got them cheap and flipflop them based on earning per watt.

Dear Diary,

Today I went into the WO thread and saw a bunch of posters in the process of wanting to reveal their wangs while urinating.

I think I'll go back to Twitter and nostr for the weekend.

You gotta admit it's impressive that he had to use his forearm rather than just a few fingers to hide it though.

Yeah but should he be peeing on a rug and not a urinial?

Just watched the movie had not seen it since 1998 or 1999.

Steve Buscemi looked so young in it.
and much like John Goodman’s character A polish catholic named Walter With guns I have a very good Polish Catholic friend named Walter. Same build say 6ft 300 pounds.

Movie was great.

This is not a bull run. It's just a gyration in the market. It's noise along our predestined path downward. Six months from now the price will be a lot lower than it is.

Here is three merits for being a buzz 🐝 kill

Those that know know their inverse indicators.

We should play along, don't you think...otherwise it is less interesting.

I am down for some lama play or alpaca socks.  Grin Grin

Good movie.

Today I got the big Lebowski I will watch it and post back today.

Also got 2 more s19's to run.
4907  Other / Meta / Re: Should the forum stop advertising mixers? on: March 17, 2023, 03:45:39 AM
I think a more concerning question is “should we be worried about what we post here?”
Bitcoin is not illegal and neither are Bitcoin mixing platforms, no one should feel they are doing something shady when interacting with any of them. So, no, we should not be worried about what we post here.
Of course if you're sharing illegal content and violating forum laws and government laws, such user should be worried, but others should be allowed to interact freely without limitations.

This is as long as the bitcoin is not illegal and the btc mixing platforms. What if a country (or a number of countries) passes a law banning this? I understand that users from these countries will have problems, but if something like this is adopted in the country where this forum is hosted? Will the forum have to constantly move from one country to another?

New changes in the world have begun. It seems to me that this precedent from ChipMixer is a serious reason to think about what the future holds for everyone and what can be done about it. In terms of penalties for the use of mixers and their use, as well as advertising on the forum.

At the moment, the issue raised by OP for discussion in this topic, I consider resolved, and there can be no question of any ban on advertising mixers. Because from a legal point of view there is no violation of laws (as far as I know). If there are any bans, I'm sure the administration of the forum will react to this.

The issue is chipmixer has been accused of breaking multiple laws in multiple countries.

People rented signature space.

bitcointalk did not stop it.

Do I think this means action against bitcointalk no.
do i think this means action against signature campaigners no.

But do I think it could happen yes it could.

Hope it does not. As I do not begrudge people that did it.
4908  Other / Meta / Re: Should the forum stop advertising mixers? on: March 17, 2023, 03:38:51 AM
From the above statement, I think we all know that bitcointalk complies with applicable laws in US jurisdictions. If the US government asks bitcointalk to ban that type of advertising then I think there is a possibility for the admin to approve it.

You said it yourself, this is US jurisdiction, not China. So there will never be a request like that.

Yes, there will never be a request like that. The worse scenario would be US blacklisting Bitcointalk.org if theymos refuses to comply whatever directive they may give, just as Russia did.

Forum isn't advertising anything anymore though it promoted mixer back in the day. We, users are promoting mixers.

I want to understand the distinct in your analogy here.
Forum stopped advertising mixer but allows individuals to advisertise mixers in the same forum. I think nothing changed.

There is a difference but facebook faced an government action by allowing so called bad actors influence the 2020 election.

The reality is mixers are used to hide your identity thus they will always be subject to government interest.

Do I think people are getting busted or sued for running a chipmixer signature and getting paid btc for years no. Is it possible maybe.

4911  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Biden proposed 30% mining tax. what would impact on Bitcoin mining? on: March 17, 2023, 12:46:43 AM
Standard govt double dipping scam.

You pay tax on your bitcoin income but they wanna tax you twice on how you spend that already taxed bitcoin income.
it's not a double tax on bitcoin income. they would be taxing the electricity expense. not the income from mining. two different things.
A typical company earns BTC to pay for the power. It's a a standard govt double tax.
In this case it simply increases your electricity cost by 30%, so decreases your profit, and increases tax revenue from you.
Simple math.

Quote
Quote
Nothing new, hopefully it fails.
so you're against paying excise tax for gasoline?
Read the topic:
Quote
Biden proposed 30% mining tax

Your philosophical opinions of types of taxes are not the topic.

It's a simple - more tax, less revenue directed at mining.

Exactly it will slow growth in USA 🇺🇸 because  it will cost more to mine it phases in

10% 20% 30%

does not start till 2024 or never 👎
4912  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Biden proposed 30% mining tax. what would impact on Bitcoin mining? on: March 16, 2023, 06:00:21 PM
The 30% is actually Biden's proposal, so it's a bit of a long question if it can be approved, I'm also sure that most of them will not agree with what Biden wants to happen.

That's a huge amount in fact, it seems like Biden wants to legally rob the people, the proposals he's making that are 30% are out of the question. Woe to those who will be hit when that becomes their law.

Except that being able to enforce a law is hard.

I done it my wife has done it and my mom did it.

Most people talk about the power the IRS has and they do but the fucking tax code is tens of thousands of pages long.
I have two book cases of tax code books.

This proposal as written simply won’t pass. It can’t be enforced as it is written.

They already had to alter the reporting on trades my tax return had 117 pages of trades for a capital loss of 3200 usd last year.

To correctly review my return fully line by line would take two people two weeks and they would find I did it correctly.

I ask you if you rent from nicehash are you renting a s19 xp burning 21 watts a th at 5 cents located in the usa

or am i renting from nicehash a s19 xp burning 21 watts a th at 2 cents located in russia

So in order to decide this would mean court rulings and the IRS does rulings based on a one case per ruling.

Ie if I win and the say my power cost was 2 cents a th in russia the ruling applies to me. and no one else.

I can tell you they don’t have the manpower to enforce the excise tax across the board.

So they will do selective enforcement. My mom my wife and I have all worked on selective enforcement projects.

My mom is dead I quit the IRS twenty years ago and my wife retired 11 years ago. We still know people in the IRS and We are absolutely certain the IRS does selective enforcement. IE low lying fruit is selected first.

So a 2 megawatt farm will be paying a 10 percent bump on power if the bill is written the way it is worded in the link above.

So there is a small chance your power bill will go up 10 percent in 2024.

Then a new election happens in 2024 and maybe the bill if it is written and passed gets cancelled.

was announced on pi day at 0.4 for Feb and 6.0 for Year.

I wonder if they:

Do 0.00, 0.25, 0.50 on March 22 .

Waiting for that number and for bailout results for the next bank to fail.

that 8% jump is about 350eh x .08 = 28 eh or 28000 ph 0r 28000000 th that is about 280,000 s19's running at 100th

cost around 336,000,000 plus wires and infrastructure and burns 840 megawatts  an hour

or 21000 plus  megawatts a day. that is about two days of NYC power use.

Someone is very bullish in the mining sector.

Heck!

ChipMixer was seized by US and German authorities.
1909.4 Bitcoin in 55 Transactions (44.2 Million Euro) with 7 TB Data seized. The most famous Mixer on this forum ended their journey.

Is this a real seizure?
Yes, it is. It's official from the Authorities. DarkStar Just ended the signature Campaign as well.

Quote
I for one am glad I never sold my signature to them.

Now I hope all that did and many did on Bitcointalk don't get in trouble.

I don't think anyone would be in trouble just because they sold signature space to them. Every service has positive and negative as well. It depends on how you use it. weapons were invented for good. To protect yourself. But, now we using it for bad purposes. Mixers are good for privacy. But, if people use it for money laundering and illegal activities. That's not good.

TV Channels and websites owner shouldn't be in jail because they advertised some failed project that ended up bankrupt.

Never said jail I said trouble.

the people that did commercials for SBF are being sued.

the signature campaign run here was a long running commercial for chipmixer.

seems close to the same.

I simply hope nothing happens to those that were paid in BTC for years by chipmixer.

I made it clear  with multiple posts that issues might happen with chipmixer. I did this months ago.
4917  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Biden proposed 30% mining tax. what would impact on Bitcoin mining? on: March 16, 2023, 12:13:09 AM

It is pretty much not enforceable for smaller mixed use business.
if you file a tax return and report any type of mining then you would kind of be on the hook. so a business would need to lie to the IRS for it to not be enforceable...

Quote
or for a home owner.
they always put the IRS in charge of collecting this type of taxes on peoples tax returns. so yeah unless you're going to lie to the IRS and pretend like you're not mining bitcoin then as soon as you file a schedule C showing you're running some type of bitcoin mining (for profit or loss), they'll probably have a form to fill out for computing your excise tax. just how the IRS works.

Quote
Plus it likely won't pass.

keep the democrats in power and it might just happen eventually.  Shocked

Quote from: NotFuzzyWarm
If and that's a BIG 'if' it is passed, 1 immediate action will it being fought in the courts...
unless bitcoin miners band together and try and fight it i don't see the general public getting too up in arms about it since bitcoin mining is such a niche thing and most americans have no idea about it and don't even care. but maybe some of the big bitcoin mining farms that opened up in texas or wherever else would put some money some good legal representation because if not then no one will.

Dude I worked for the IRS for 18 months.
I have a degree in accounting.
My wife worked for the IRS for 33 years she was a Revenue agent.
My late mother worked for the IRS for 25 years she was a Revenue officer.

If I say it is unenforceable in a mixed use business it pretty much is.
If I say it is unenforceable in a small home with a few pieces of gear it is.

I know it is enforceable in a big farm.

If you are a big farm and all you do mine it is enforceable and would be enforced since at least 25% of the network is large farms in the USA.

It is strictly based on the power used to mine.
So in a 2 mega watt farm it would be detected and enforced.

On a 1 kwatt miner in his home no one is going to be able to enforce it.

I know from my own experiences with multiple friends and family in the IRS.

If you read the law as it in the link above it says renting from nicehash would be taxable.

A) prove where the nicehash gear you rented was usa based = can not be done
B) prove the power used by the nicehash gear if you say it was usa based = can not be done.

So this is why the law will not be enforceable across the board.
4918  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 15, 2023, 09:06:23 PM

The interest bet placed by SVB was likely an act of extreme stupidity or

financial sabatoge.

The financial decisions by SBF were either extreme stupidity or financial sabatoge.

pattern does not look good.
4919  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Biden proposed 30% mining tax. what would impact on Bitcoin mining? on: March 15, 2023, 08:53:48 PM
this is not a tax on profits it is a tax on the power cost.

so year 1  $10000 power cost becomes 11,000
year 2.     $10000 power cost becomes 12,000
year 3      $10000 power cost becomes 13,000

It is pretty much not enforceable for smaller mixed use business.

or for a home owner.

Plus it likely won't pass.
4920  Other / Archival / Re: Is there a chance we get a takedown notice? on: March 15, 2023, 08:07:31 PM
Advertising or even using the service doesn't mean you're using it illegally.
I know, but can you trust regulators nowadays? Remember what happened with that Ethereum mixer this year? Just a friendly reminder that even self-custody is a red-flag for intergovernmental organizations: https://www.fatf-gafi.org/media/fatf/documents/recommendations/Updated-Guidance-VA-VASP.pdf

This site though expects the community to take the responsible approach and not encourage or support users who would engage in the advertising of money laundering activities for their own benefit.
You're going to have a hard time convincing this board, me included, that enhancing Bitcoin privacy effectively, cheaply and in a comfort manner is trifle in comparison with it being used as money laundering in some cases, and in a negligible manner.

first off i can assure you using chipmixer is a way to be tagged as a suspect in money laundering.

any USA citizen  or Bahama citizen is asking for trouble using chipmixer.

ftx = big fucking money lost.

I for one am glad i do not and have not ever advertised or used a mixer of any kind.

just look how NY made a new no  mining law just the other day.

How would you feel if your governement makes a no mixer law and backdates it so that you have to explain your involvement as an advertisement service for them? and user of their service as you just admitted to.

not saying it will but read up on new york and what they just did to miners.

And don't say I did not warn you all.

Heck!

Now I am not sarcastic or condensating (sp)

I don't want anyone that was on the chipmixer campaign here on Bitcointalk to get hurt hopefully it all passes over.

And I understand privacy I also understand governments don't give two or three or zero fucks about any citizen's rights to privacy.
