I read somewhere that soon is coming a Telegram token and that Theymos whats to have a huge part of the distribution of the tokens that's why he introduced the merit system now, so he and his alts to be able to participate in all the bounties and all the poor peasants will be left aside.

You mean an altcoin distributed based on the amount of merit you received in this forum? What you are saying isn't really making sense.

Also, do you really think theymos has time to participate in minimum-wage paying bounties with one account, let alone his "Alts"?

His bitcoin adress, 1NXYoJ5xU91Jp83XfVMHwwTUyZFK64BoAD has received over 4 million. I doubt it would be worth his time to go around and do twitter bounties.

No, let me explain, this is so ridiculous accusation, I'm faaar from considering such bullshit as a real deal because it has no sense to me. I just wrote what I have read somewhere about the merit system. But this is how the spamming crowd is trying to explain the system, by accusing theymos and sh!t like this.
The new system ruined a lot of people's "business" so everyone of these clowns are crawling their way up on the ranking system by black-marketing the sMerits. I have already reported two such cases, hope I can catch more of those folks Smiley

- You are kidding! right?
I hope it's not correct or we all are basically bunches of puppets.  Cry
We are fighting for decentralisation (  Huh ) here. COME ON!!!

I hope you are kidding, you can't really believe that it can happen, right?

4923  Economy / Reputation / Re: Why I think User "alia" is a (potential) scammer? User "aTriz" maybe involved! on: March 01, 2018, 05:39:38 AM
Ok, I only read the first page of this so far, but what OP has is a suspicion that alia is scamming because her items keep getting "sold" once she's asked for a picture.  aTriz is being linked to this because of this odd 3 year contract for signature advertising.   Is that it in a nutshell?

I do find this contract strange, since it wasn't too long ago thar aTriz was looking for very high ranked, trusted members for an exclusive campaign of his--and then he does a deal with this relative unknown.   But aTriz has always been honest and very polite and kind in his dealings with me.  True, you never know what lies beneath, but I still trust him.  I've been in his campaigns before, and he's been entrusted with large amounts of bitcoin--and he always paid on-time and accurately.

Plus I don't see a full scam on alia's part, though her behavior is somewhat suspicious.   I'll keep reading this thread, but my positive trust for aTriz will stand.

And there is this one to add more drama:

OMG the Drama here..
There should be a Bitcointalk News Feed somewhere on the first page so people do not miss the show.
So much Merit wasted here on fake identity, it could have been given to all that deserve it for real, like the OP, but it was a good show for a while..
Happy that the truth came out...  admiration to the scam_detector! Well Done!
4925  Other / Meta / Re: Merit gone wild! on: February 28, 2018, 12:47:48 PM
I've experienced the same issue in the beginning and I have reported it but looks like still no change.
Never go back or refresh the page or maybe use the Merit UI- here's the link
4926  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Requirement for Member Proposal on: February 28, 2018, 11:25:43 AM
I'd say give us Members the chance to rank up easier by lowering the merits required because there's no way I'm getting to 100 unless I come up with something like "Theory of Relativity Vol. 2"  Grin

No, you are wrong.
I'm no Einstein but I still get merit.
It's not so difficult as it seems. I have put a lot of time reading in order to be able to answer some average questions, but now I understand more so + the Merit you get knowledge which is more valuable.

Well, some of the merits you've received seem totally random and by those standards I should have gotten a few more merits for my posts, but sure, if you think so...

The random merit you say were when we discuss the merit system in the begging. I had myself a few suggestions for correction rather than changes but seems that the system is still working without any needs. This was the main topic that time and everyone was exited. Now things are more settled and people are getting more and more familiar with the system. Of course it takes time to be adopted, but as I said 30 points are not so hard to achieve.
4927  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which Cryptocurrency is best To mine on Laptop on: February 27, 2018, 11:10:26 AM
Do you really want to reduce the life of your old laptops?
Why don't you sell them instead and buy coins with the money?

If you really want to mine, you can try Electroneum. I tried with an old i3 laptop, mining around 20-25 h/s. I don't think its worth it, but you can just try.

I'm GPU mining at home with 1.4Kh/s which is making approx 30 ETNs per day.
And it's perfect for the winter time, to heat up your house/room Smiley
4928  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can i mine bitcoin on my Xiaomi Mi 6 on: February 27, 2018, 11:03:55 AM
Just cut the crap go sell the phone, buy bitcoins, and be done with it!
Trying to "mine" its just wasting time, phone life, electricity and nerves and it's not even worth it.

Better go look for Electroneum.
4929  Other / Meta / Re: [Merit source application] Romanian local thread on: February 27, 2018, 09:42:42 AM
Maybe you can add also some English posts so the other non-Romanian forum fellas can check your perception of quality posts.

Sorry but I'm only responding to requests from the forum staff that are in charge of the merit system.

That was a suggestion, not a request. It's up to you how you gonna do this, I just wanted to shorten your procedure.
Well read this tread as reference and decide by yourself.

Edited>
Don't what to spam your thread just wanted to share the little info I had on your case.
Good luck with your application.
4930  Other / Meta / Re: Why did they actually enter MERIT ? on: February 27, 2018, 09:04:20 AM
emergence of a black market for the sale of Merit. As they say, the price for 1 merit is already from 8 to 40 !!! green.

Damn, I'm rich now.

There is always someone trying to trick the system. It doesn't matter if it's the merit system, the account selling, even the bank system, the voting system, every single system in the world. You can find black markers everywhere for almost everything that has some value for someone.
There is no miraculous solution that is working 100% all the time.
There should be some control here in a way because the forum tuned into a dumping place full of nonsense only for account farming.
So freezing the shitposters to Jr. members is one good solution to the huge spam generated every day. If you have some soft of common sense and acceptable English level you should be making your way to the higher ranks without any problem. It takes time but you learn a lot on the way, so you actually can back up your rank with your knowledge, and short review of your previous posts can prove that you are not traded account.
Well there is still a chance to be an alt but ... as I said/wrote earlier there is no 100% solution to this.

Quote
Or maybe all this is the beginning of the subsequent rise in prices for signatures (signatures) - the company?
Or a reduction in competition?
Or - all this is the beginning of something much more  Huh

How do you think?

I read somewhere that soon is coming a Telegram token and that Theymos whats to have a huge part of the distribution of the tokens that's why he introduced the merit system now, so he and his alts to be able to participate in all the bounties and all the poor peasants will be left aside.

4932  Other / Meta / Re: Merit system and romanian board problems on: February 27, 2018, 07:57:03 AM
I think that he should be meritet much more that 11 Merit for his work.

At least he got some points.
My observation is that good posts in the small local sections don't get enough merit but this is also due to fact that the community is not so big.
Well, since this is an English speaking forum it is understandable that the good non-English threads will be undervalued due to low access to Merit sources or users with sMerit.
Also due to the less control in the local sections much of the points are distributed in not so fair way. People selling merit is not something new. There are threads even in the English section for such trades.

Give the system a few months at least. Then we can discuss, when we have enough data to analyse.
No changes are needed at this point.

edit> corrected some typos.

4936  Other / Meta / Re: Is the Merit System Generating Enough Merits? on: February 26, 2018, 08:42:37 PM
I know that the purpose of this system is to create a better forum with better members but just imagine yourself a full member needing almost 2 years to get to senior. Is that fair?
Well, I am exactly in this situation. More of that I've reached Sr. Member rank by my activity in a short time after Merit system saw the light, so I count that totally unfair, cause on now with my current speed of earning merits the target seems just impossible. I think moderators should to think about those members who are on boarder between two ranks and to make the mission to them a little easier.

I thought that in the beginning, I was just a fresh Member when the Merit was introduced. I had some old good posts and started getting merit just keeping those up to date.

I'm still a member but tomorrow evening I'll reach the needed activity points for Full Member, got enough merit til now to prove that the system is really working if you are helping the community in some way and stay away from shitposting. I guess these 30 points I'm missing will not be
a problem , but I'm not In hurry. I'll be happy to wear avatar some day.

As I like to say, "don't blame the system, blame yourself" is applicable here too Wink

4938  Other / Meta / Re: Is the Merit System Generating Enough Merits? on: February 26, 2018, 01:53:29 PM
OK, let me add some calculations too then.

We stated with 35 Merit Sources (MS for short) on the first day of the Merit system.

On 26th Jan. were already 49 MS. /reference/
Today they are 57 MS.
So for one month from 35 till 57 this is 22 new sources, awesome but...

14 were added for 1 day, so we exclude them to be more realistic /see the reference link above/

Then there are minimum around 8 new MS added per Month!

Since this is the first and only month till now and the data is not enough, we need to give more time to the system to actually see how it is working.
Now it's just speculations.

P.S. The image in the OP is not loading.
4939  Other / Meta / Re: Is the Merit System Generating Enough Merits? on: February 26, 2018, 01:07:27 PM
There are many High ranked members not aware of the merit system yet.
They are also holding sMerit, which can be distributed and generates more sMerit.

If you calculate how many members are in each rank category, above Jr. and take into account the initial sMerit for every rank, you can pretty much add those sMerits to the actual pool we have at the moment.

I have already given 30 merits, even still a member only.
4940  Other / Meta / Re: My life as a merit source on: February 25, 2018, 09:55:07 PM
Just out of curiosity, where do you browse for quality posts, I mean sections, the most?
Reading this now,it really deserves the answer I got. I had a different thing in mind when I wrote it but I admit that it sounds silly.

iasenko makes an excellent point, but you shouldn't expect MeritSourceLife to tell you anything about their activity! Shame on you for asking!

I thought that the Sources are covering specific sections besides the Local. Now I can see that my question can be interpret as attempt to trick the system by posting in eventually mentions sections for higher chance to get merit.
This was not my intention. Just have seen a good posts in some sub-forums that are not so popular.

Ok, noted.

Thanks for that.
