501  Economy / Reputation / Re: The story of the scammer RaselShorif on: December 07, 2023, 10:40:02 PM
You shouldn't have trusted such a useless profile with 1898 posts, 1134 activity points but Zero merits since the date of registration in November 04, 2018. Worse still, the profile had negative feedback from Yoshie for cheating in bounty campaigns using alt accounts. So this member was never to be trusted.

Advise your team members to carry out deeper background checks before dealing with anyone. Imagine someone being so shameless that they would even scam a dollar if given a chance.
You can create a flag against his profile. I will support it.
I agree with you on what you mentioned. Indeed, if the members who were stolen from had avoided excessive trust, gathered information about this scammer from the beginning, and used the escrow service we provide, paying attention to our alerts and recommendations on the Bptrades group, all of this would not have happened.

I have created a flag now: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=3256

You could inform the bounty manager not to pay him and maybe pay his victims. I think this is OK.
I left a message via PM to the respected bounty manager @irfan_pak10.

Thank you @logfiles for your time and guidance.
502  Economy / Reputation / The story of the scammer RaselShorif on: December 07, 2023, 09:16:19 PM
Hello everyone,

I want to share the story of this Bangladeshi scammer who used a Telegram account username @Tunpa365 in a scam operation. He requested $10 loan from Gladitorcomeback in June 2023, claiming that he wanted to buy milk for his children and will would it next Friday but has not returned it till this day > [ # ]. This scammer also stole $30 from a member named @GMaxiCrypto in the @GMaxiCrypto, which provides an escrow service run by us. This scammer initially conducted some trades with the second victim to gain trust without using the escrow service. In the end, when he received $30 first, he disappeared. After that, the victim wrote that this scammer stole his money > [ # + # ]

The scammer returned after several days, and wrote in the group, claiming that his brother-in-law had been admitted to the hospital three days ago and urgently needed surgery. He didn't have money that day, so he used GMaxi's funds. He claimed it was a mistake and promised to return the money on November 20 once he received his salary from his company. A month passed, and I regularly contacted him, asking about the money. When the expected day of November 20 arrived, this scammer said he needed an additional seven days due to not receiving his salary. He pleaded with me a lot. I warned him that this deadline would be the last. The days passed until December 12, and he still hasn't returned the stolen amount. He completely ignored my messages, and it seemed like he was reading them on Telegram.
------------
The complete information about this scammer:
------------
Forum Username: RaselShorif
Name: Md Rasel Shorif
Email: raselshorif169@gmail.com
BEP-20 Wallet Address: 0x06d06C01Aaf0Af1b88824A7bcCaBD0743f8D026A
Binance pay id: 213284388
Binance username: Rasel3333
One of his alt accounts: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2461727 | FLAG

Telegram Username: @Habib1445 - @Rasel365 - @Masud333 - @Tunpa365 - @Ratan333 - @Ratan333 - @Rubel258000 - @Sohel365

The complete evidence: Google Drive Link
------------

I understand that the amount is not significant, only $40. Still, even if it were a dollar, theft is entirely unacceptable. [A person's need is not a justifiable reason for engaging in dishonest actions.] I even blame these good members for trusting this scammer, and even as an admin of the Bptrades group, I always warn that we are not responsible for any transactions or deals that take place outside the group without using our escrow service, and whoever violates this or the group rules is his personal responsibility.

I have banned this scammer's multiple telegram accounts from the official Bprades group and posted warnings about him to alert the members. Also, I created this topic late because I was busy the previous days. Still, this story will be helpful to many people, as they will learn that there is no trust in strangers, and they must use the free escrow service that we provide or the escrow service of any reputable member of the Bitcointalk forum.
------------
In conclusion:
------------
** It's now up to you guys to decide what actions should be taken against this scammer. He has participated in COMBO bounty rounds managed by Bountyportals before. Is it possible for me to request that the bounty manager consider addressing this matter and replacing his wallet address with the wallet addresses of the victims from whom he stole?

503  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM ALERT] List 910+ scam websites (Updated 07.December '23) on: December 07, 2023, 07:44:08 PM
I haven't updated this list for several months, but that doesn't mean there aren't new scammers. Added 30 new domains to this blacklist.
Stay safe and don't believe all extra profit offers.
This is the first time I've seen this topic. You are doing great work, @examplens, in making the crypto community safe. I hope your topic ranks high in search engines so that when someone searches for a domain name in the search engine, your topic appears in the first results to help them avoid these scam websites. Perhaps if I have some time, I will report the registrant of these new domains to have them dropped down by the domain registrar. If I come across scam sites like your blacklist sites while on social media, can I share them on your topic?
504  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: News binance and discover square on: December 06, 2023, 11:53:22 PM
Do you think the news written by binance users can be accounted for in terms of its veracity?
Of course, this news or content published by these users cannot be taken at face value without conducting sufficient research. Anyone with a Binance account can post what they like, as Binance Square is open to everyone. There are many more reliable sources from which we can receive news.

Maybe bitcoin talk forum users will increase after Binance wrote, or maybe there will be a similar Cex who wrote bitcoin talk on his social media, either in momentum or history in the future.
Bitcointalk forum is eight years older than Binance; Binance was launched in 2017, and BTT is the main forum for Bitcoin. I don't think there is a centralized platform whose team is unfamiliar with this forum. If they indirectly promote the forum, that's a good thing. I hope that new members coming from there will use hardware wallets instead of using their CEX platforms.  Smiley
505  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please help verify if this a fake crypto exchange website on: December 06, 2023, 10:48:02 PM
Hello, I am trying to figure out if this website mercadobitcoinaps.com is real or not. It was recommended by a friend of my uncle whom neither of us have met. My uncle has been using this site for crypto futures and recently had his account frozen. The site is requesting that he pay a fine in order to release his funds. Is this a scam? I believe it is a scam because it also has 2 domains that take you to the same site. Was his money lost once he transferred it over to that site or is there anything that can be done.

The other site link is mercedobItcoinIkx.com
The scammers deleted everything on the two domains after successfully freezing and stealing the victims' funds to erase traces of their fraud. I am saddened by the loss of your uncle's money. I was hoping you @OP created this thread before this fraudulent operation happened to seek advice and recommendations. But it's fate, no problem. It's important that he learns the lesson. I hope he tries to report to the relevant authorities to investigate this matter. Perhaps your uncle's friend owns the domains; no one knows who is behind this.

Indeed, I searched on Google and found that they chose this name for the domain "mercedobItcoinIkx" because there is a famous Brazilian exchange platform called Mercado Bitcoin [1]. It has already collaborated with the Brazilian Central Bank (BACEN) and owns a phone application and an official domain. Do you see? This small research would clarify for you the legitimacy of the domains of the mentioned scam platforms. Once again, tell your uncle not to trust anyone, verify totally before depositing his money on any unknown exchange platform, and do his research first.
506  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 100$ scam in Binane 3rd part services on: December 06, 2023, 08:59:19 PM
I finally received my 100$ withdrawal

However I really don't recommend using these services even they refunded my money and that’s due to various reasons, beside my personal experience and the lack of verification from Binance in case of scams. Binance's live chat support in my opinion lacks professionalism, because  I encountered late and difficulty communicating with them as you can see in the screenshots.
I'm glad to hear that, my friend, you've successfully withdrawn your funds from them, and fortunately, they didn't engage in fraud, maintaining their reputation to stay in the Binance marketplace, and the issue has now been solved.  Smiley

Indeed, I reviewed the screenshots and the conversation between you and one of Binance's customer service representatives. It seems that this customer service representative lacks the necessary experience and knowledge. Clearly, he hadn't heard about the All-in-one service before. It's truly ridiculous.

@GxSTxV You learned something in all of this, and that's good. You can lock your topic now Wink
507  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] MIR Bounty Campaign - Fake Team + Fake Project on: December 06, 2023, 05:19:29 PM
Hm, I don't see any flags there. Are you sure that's the correct link?
The following link is the correct link for the flag created by Bitum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=3253
---
Truly, based on the evidence in this topic regarding the MIR coin project and the previous bounty projects managed by the inexperienced bounty manager @repear7:

1- ZORORIUM BOUNTY:
Thanks for participating in the campaign. The project team is not interested in continuing the campaign so we have suspended the campaign for the 4th week.
SOURCE  | ARCHIVED

2- CIRTUS.TECH BOUNTY:
First of all I am sorry to you.The reason is that the project manager promised to escrow tokens within the first 15 days. But you sent me a report that the project is not getting any improvement from the campaign. For this he avoids our bounty manager charges and token escrow. And he told me he wouldn't pay any bounty hunters for it.Hired participants are not working properly.
SOURCE  | ARCHIVED

It appears that this bounty manager is not an expert and lacks competence in choosing projects he promotes, and he might even be part of them. Therefore, the flag and feedback serve as warning signs for bounty hunters to refrain from participating in upcoming bounty campaigns this BM manages, avoiding involvement in promoting scam projects and wasting their valuable time.
508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will USTC hit 1$ again and be a stable coin ? on: December 05, 2023, 11:51:05 PM
If it hits $1 in price then its marketcap will be around $10 billion, I think. The figure is unrealistic for a project that only has historical value. After what happens with Terra, there is no chance that it will regain its hype because there are other alternatives that are doing better. So investors won't risk their money again with a failed project. The recent price surge from Terra is because of the potential airdrop announcement of the USTC holder before the crash.
This algorithmic currency that caused massive losses for its holders shattered their capitals and contributed to the catastrophic collapse of Terra Luna, created rampant chaos and panic in the market at that time. Who can restore confidence in these currencies again? Regardless of the high risks, greedy people seeking profits will blindly invest in them without looking back or learning from the collapse. Even if USTC returns to the dollar, I am among those who cannot freeze their capital in it. As you pointed out, their project has already failed, and these currencies are still being manipulated in their prices to attract new investors who are unaware of the previous collapse and unpeg and the disastrous aftermath.
509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stable Coins ? on: December 05, 2023, 11:00:53 PM
BUSD will cease to exist in the future. PAXOS will stop supporting BUSD and USDT has its own issue with redeeming USDT in fiat USD from the US bank. Just look at all the other stablecoins. When most of them even the largest one, USDC loses half of its marketcap USDT keeps rising. USDT is not a volatile asset so this is something unnatural and something to be concerned about.

ERC20 and TRC20 are both widely accepted in centralized exchanges, so i am not seeing any issue with either type. But ERC20 version has more liquidity than the TRC20 so if anything bad happens it will be easier to sell your ERC20 version I think.
Indeed, BUSD has been replaced by FDUSD on Binance as of December 15, the main platform that supported it. Paxos will continue to support it until February 2024, as the issuance of new BUSD has ceased. BUSD was among the best stablecoins in the market and will soon cease to exist. Most stablecoins may fail due to regulatory pressures and the failure to provide currency reports. USDT is currently considered the best option, and the TRC20 network is the best in terms of fee cost, as ERC20 fees are excessively high compared to other networks, and the Ethereum network is consistently congested. Therefore, diversifying the wallet with multiple supported stablecoins in a hardware wallet and on networks that offer cost-effective solutions and transaction speed is considered the ideal solution.

FDUSD on: December 04, 2023, 11:59:55 PM

513  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 100$ scam in Binane 3rd part services on: December 04, 2023, 10:45:19 PM
I genuinely hope they respond to you as soon as possible via email and refund the funds you deposited. Unfortunately, I couldn't find their links on social media and even contacting them through the form on their official website doesn't work. As you mentioned, live support has only been active for the past 5 days, and I couldn't find any previous feedback or reviews about these Global Finance cards, as if the service is neglected without any customers.

If the service has indeed been disabled, why hasn't Binance removed it from their platform yet? I hope you provide an update regarding this issue within 48 hours. What I truly see is that these third-party services are not trustworthy. Thank you for alerting the community about what happened to you so they can research before using any of these services. Just because a service is on Binance doesn't mean it's legitimate. All Binance seems to do is disclaim responsibility without considering the impact on their customers.  Sad
514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I will invest the money to buy the land in Bitcoin. on: December 04, 2023, 09:42:59 PM
I am a government servant, working in regional land office.  At the end of five years of my working life, I have spent part of the salary I received during these five years for family and saved part for future. I have been saving my money in the bank for more than five years for the purpose of saving for the future and purchasing a land. If I were to mention the amount of money I saved in five years, it would be about 11 thousand dollars if converted to US dollars. My plan was to buy a land with this amount of money but whenever looking for land to buy land my idea completely changes because the lands I like will not give me this amount of money. If I can't buy land in a position, I have no desire to buy land in a common place.

Since I have like 11 thousand dollars right now, I want to invest this amount in Bitcoin instead of keeping it in the bank.[..]
I liked this tweet that CZ Binance posted on December 3rd, where he decided to leave his job ten years ago and sell his house to fully aped into Bitcoin. Some may consider this decision wrong due to the volatility and risks in the Bitcoin and crypto market in general. However, he could calculate and manage the risks, having the courage to invest instead of avoiding risks. I assure you that putting money in the bank and making profits from it is a waste of time and not worth the effort. Through Bitcoin, your capital can grow fantastically. Investing your money in Bitcoin is a sound decision because it is the best investment that will shape your future. It's possible that you can buy not just one piece of land but many pieces in any position you want eventually through your BTC profits. Trust in Bitcoin and learn how to manage risks and hold your amounts for the long term.

515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which good altcoins can I hold along with Bitcoin for the upcoming halving? on: December 04, 2023, 07:21:54 PM
XRP can be a good investment, provided its issues with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) are settled in a win win situation, and it is mostly anticipated. In such a scenario investors who have been holding it for years will be able to recover their losses. Looking back its historical performance, XRP has achieved all time high of $4 approximately, which can be broken in future. However, the major concern lies in its substantial supply of 100 Billion tokens.

Regarding BNB, it seems prudent to stay away from it, until its legal issues are completely resolved.
Certainly, Ripple is a good currency and has partially won its case with the SEC. However, it's only a matter of time before Ripple fully wins the case. I hope the same happens with the other altcoins that have been classified by the SEC as securities, as positive news will bring about a positive change in their prices, and they will undoubtedly rise with the occurrence of such positive developments. BNB has experienced a sharp decline, attributed to the ongoing SEC war that has not been resolved yet, along with the resignation of CZ and similar factors. In reality, I don't prefer currencies primarily backed by centralized platforms, regardless of their strength. The Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt that will spread around these platforms due to negative news will have a long-term impact on the currency's price. A close example is the FTT currency. I believe Ethereum is a promising and good currency that should be added to one's investment list alongside Bitcoin to capitalize on the upcoming halving.
516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cristiano Ronaldo get 1 billion dollars lawsuit for his NFT failure on: December 03, 2023, 10:45:09 PM
This led me to ask the question of that the extent of Cristiano Ronaldo's involvement in the NFT project, us he a part of the Directors or he just promote the project.

But then also whichever way, I hope Cristiano Renaldo has a good lawyer to stand in for him.

What are you taking in all of this situation.
Certainly, Cristiano Ronaldo, the football star, was promoting the Binance platform, where Binance signed a contract with him due to his massive global fan base. As a football player, What does the marketing he did for the platform and his wages have to do with what CZ admitted to and his actions? He did not force anyone to buy his NFTs; there was an agreed-upon disclaimer. It is not CR7’s fault that he should bear a billion dollars from the lawsuit indicating the failure of his NFTs and that Binance exploited his name and fame to promote its platform and assets, aiming to attract football fans to the cryptocurrency field. However, the truth is that NFT prices fluctuate like crypto, and every investor bears full responsibility for handling losses. Cristiano Ronaldo or Binance cannot bear the failure of NFTs after their prices dropped to a dollar.
517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Parental Guild on Bitcoin on: December 03, 2023, 09:27:59 PM
Few Questions I would like to get you own input on

Is buying Bitcoin or cryptocurrency good for Kids?

How do you teach a kid to secure Bitcoin in case you are not there?

Should authorities or agencies place age restriction on owning Bitcoin?
1- I don't think buying Bitcoin is suitable for kids who are still in the early years of their lives and whose cognitive processes lack awareness, consciousness, and the ability to maintain a sequence of thoughts in their minds. Those who buy Bitcoin should be adults, mentally open, and equipped with sufficient experience and necessary information to secure their own Bitcoin.

2- It doesn't seem prudent to have my Bitcoin holdings in the possession of my kid, and he is the one securing it in my absence. This task can only be entrusted to another mature and trustworthy person, preferably from my family circle. My child can take on this responsibility when he acquires greater awareness and matures. I attempt to teach him through simplified methods that align with his cognitive and understanding abilities.

3- Bitcoin is a decentralized currency with no authorities that can control the Bitcoins you hold or know whether you are a child or an adult. In addition, this is the sole responsibility of the parents.
518  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware of Clipboard Virus! on: December 03, 2023, 07:29:17 PM
For this reason, I don't store anything related to crypto on my device. I noticed this virus when I was trying to use an exchange. I copied the deposit address and that's when it happened. There was no funds, seedphrase, secret keys or important documents laying around on my desktop.

I made this post, so that other people may see it. Especially the newbies. Since many of us don't know there is a virus called clipboard virus that hijacks clipboards. The topic was created purely as a reminder (again).  Smiley
Thank you for sharing your story and this important warning for beginners. Indeed, clipboard hijacking is very common, and scammers have managed to steal a lot from people unaware of its malicious activities. The clipboard virus if not stealing sensitive and important data and personal information; can focus on replacing the copied address of a wallet/exchange in the clipboard with the scammer's wallet address. Many people may fall victim to this type of scam. Even most antivirus programs on Windows may not detect and remove it, and it can be challenging to determine if the device is infected or not. As everyone mentioned, the solution is to create a Linux operating system or use a non-main device if you prefer a Windows operating system that is not intended for conducting financial transactions and does not contain wallets or anything related to cryptocurrencies. It is best to avoid cracked programs, torrent files, or any programs downloaded from unknown sources.
519  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what is the importance of identify in your local board? on: December 02, 2023, 09:07:59 PM
Other boards like the economy, general discussion, gambling, altcoin etc are well spelled out and one can easily know why it is necessary to participate and identify in these boards discussions but my question is with regard to the local board.

1. Is it necessary for everyone to identify with their local boards and participate in the board discussions?
2. I would love to get a detailed aim For each of the local board and also know the kind of thread that's best to be created in the local board.
3. If it's necessary to participate in the activity of the local board, what happens to the people whose local board is not in the forum.
It is not necessary to identify or participate in your local board. As you can see, all forum boards primarily rely on the English language, and perhaps most content on local boards is derived from English topics posted by other members. However, local boards can simplify information through meaningful discussions, guidance, and other educational topics published in your native language. They can also be useful for building new friendships. If you don't find a local board, there's no problem if your English is good; it's sufficient for you, or it is possible to participate in the other languages/locations board.

Indeed, I am one of the people who prefer my local board, and my goal in participating there is to help many members, provide them with assistance, and exchange knowledge more in the language we are accustomed to reading and writing. The good thing is that I feel I am not a stranger there.
520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should altcoins be blamed? on: December 02, 2023, 08:13:23 PM
most of these losses were as a result of improper understanding and experience before attempting massive investments.Of course some early adopters of Bitcoin who sold or lost access to Their coins have also lost faith in the crypto verse.
My question is should altcoins really be blamed for hate some persons have for Bitcoin due to their loss in altcoins?
Blaming Bitcoin or other top altcoins or criticizing them due to financial losses is unwarranted. Investors should primarily hold themselves accountable. Despite the presence of Bitcoin, considered a secure & the best investment in the market, and other top altcoins, they chose scam altcoin projects or hype coins. Also, due to their weak understanding and insufficient experience gained during their substantial investments, they failed to conduct adequate research and assess their ability to withstand losses. Even those who lost access to their Bitcoin wallets or sold Bitcoin at low prices must bear the consequences of their mistakes. This field truly requires experience, analytical skills, and patience. Without these points, all cryptocurrencies might not be trustworthy or suitable for them.
