Be happy to have fiat at all to buy these precious bitcoins because many die hard believers just struggle to make their ends meet and can afford only to invest 100 euros to bitcoin. My friend would have seriously taken loan from bank exactly a year ago just to buy bitcoins but no bank gave him loan because he doesn't have a job or anything, he's living in his parents' cellar.
He should get a job... Don't do anything and want money to speculate? Grow up, get your own money and become rich. Poor people complaining about beeing poor and don't do anything about it -> make me sick! |

99% of the Bitcoin ASIC Mining Hardware won't ever reach ROI... But there are enough buyers that can't calculate simple things. Bitcoin profits a lot from stupid price chasers.
That is in case difficulty rate increase does not slow down. And also, some people don't give a flying dick about ROI, they just want to support the network and their coins. All the tiny greedy miners moved to altcoins by now, while BTC hashing is for serious players only, who won't jump to another coin in a heartbeat. Every serious player gives a fuck about ROI! They don't gamble... they invest. Bitcoin and it's ASIC race is really bad for decentralization. And serious players can't jump on another coin, because you can only reach ROI, if you get the newest miner in time and mine the hell out of it in the first few weeks. Otherwise it's just an expensive piece of crap. Selling ASIC Hardware is much more profitable than mining yourself. The only exclusion is -> new production step, for example 14-22nm. |

You checked the charts to see that bitcoin was at $10 just a year ago, before posting this, right? So you are making my argument here, LTC fair price now is at $1, everything else is just stupidity by late train catchers who are positive that in a year LTC will be where BTC is now. The thing is, it is not a fact yet, that is way bitcoin was $10 last year and not $1000. Bitcoin is as overvalued as Litecoin is. The "real" value of bitcoin is in the range of 30-60$, if you compare the facts -> business adoption (increase since jan 2013), transactions, ... it's about 50-60%! Not 5000%. So it's clearly overvalued. But I'm still holding  It's allways funny to gamble with money you don't care to lose. And Crypto Coins are a hell of a gamble. Not everyone. Just everyone who gets in now. And even when most are in (years from now), as long as we are below saturation anyone can at least make a little extra. The "bag holders" that people love to talk about are the ones who stubbornly stick with fiat.
That is not entirely true. First world countries (expect the usa) have 0 to 1.5% inflation. They won't be bagholders for the next 50 years. But with bitcoin there will be a lot of people losing large amounts of money. |

Do you really believe everyone can get rich? It's a zero sum game with trading fees. Every profit you cash out, somebody had to pay for it. It is just redistribution of wealth and the biggest chunk goes to the early adopters in 2009-2011. The others can still profit, but it's impossible to turn 10$ into 1 Million $ with just holding like before. |

I think it depends a lot on how many major retailers and other 'normal' companies would accept bitcoin in 2014. Overstock is planning to do so, but if other major retailers would also accept bitcoin and at the same time governments, central banks and other institutions won't undertake actions that would undermine bitcoin, then IMO the price can go sky high.
Overstock will use BitPay or anything similar -> Dump the coins immediatly @ market price to get fiat -> selling pressure will be high |
